Wireless broadband on Windows 8

Hi,
Everything worked fine on Windows 7
I taught the Access Connection applet all my connections and could roam easily from work to commute to home having it switch my home site, printers etc.
But for some reason on my 2355C19 I cannot get the wwan software installed.  Is there a known issue with this or is there a comprehensive installation manual?
Thanks!

Hi, theking2
What WWAN software are you trying to install, and how are you trying to install it? And what happens when you try to install the WWAN software? Are you getting an error when you try to install it?
Thanks in advance,
Adam

The WUSB54G cannot connect with WRT54G.
Error message " Cannot assocaite with the access point.
I have checked the followings to try and solve the problem.
    1) Refresh site survey the WUSB54G does not show my SSID, but it can show my neighbour'sSSID.
    3) When I use my notebook with built-in wireless network adaptor to access wirelss broadband there is no problem at all. I can access my SSID.
    4) I have try reseting the WRT54G and changing password but still can not solve the problem.
    5) Uninstall and re-install

  • Firefox is showing "Server not found" when Fedora 14 NetworkManger is detecting ppp connection through wireless broadband modem

    Hi,
I am using Wireless broadband modem. Network manager is detecting the modem and successfully acquring an ip through ppp0. But Firefox is showing "Server not found". I have found that /etc/resolv.conf is updated properly. And ping or nslookup on some url like www.google.com is working from terminal. So it seems either firefox is not able to use DNS or ppp connection. I have also tried by disabling eth or lo. But of no use.

    See this thread: here.
However, please don't use 192.168.0.2 for the router but 192.168.137.2 instead. Home sharing uses 192.168.137.1 on the sharing computer instead of 192.168.0.1 as it was in earlier Windows versions.
To make the change, unplug the WRT from your network. Wire your second computer to a LAN port of the WRT.
Open the web interface at http://192.168.1.1/
On the main setup page, change the LAN IP address from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.137.2.
On the same page, disable the DHCP server.
    Save settings.
Unplug the computer. Now wire one of the numbered LAN ports of the WRT to your home sharing computer.
    That's it.

  • Wireless Broadband and Airport Express

Where I used to live I had ATT DSL and used my Airport Express to provide a wireless network and the use of my non-networked Samsung printer. My new address won't have DSL or Cable--but there is Verizon wireless broadband. Is there a way I can more or less duplicate what I had with the DSL and the Airport Express? I sure would like to be about to print without having to physically attach the USB printer cable to my MacBook? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Hello,
The idea behind the Cradlepoint CBA250 adapter (which I have not tested) is to create an Ethernet output from a USB (or ExpressCard) modem or a mobile phone. This combination would thus effectively replace a DSL modem that has been connected to a WAN port of a wireless base station. If your AirPort Express was used as a base station, and was working with a USB printer earlier (much like this), everything ought to be as before.

  • HP LaserJet M1120 MFP will not print on wireless network with Windows 8.1 operating system

The printer worked on the wireless network with Windows 8.
I have been advised that it does not work with windows 8.1 because a driver is required. However this is not available to download.
It is ridiculous that by having the latest operating system I am unable to use the HP printer on the wireless network
When will HP have the driver to download?

  • Unable to connect to Deskjet 3545 via Wireless Direct from Windows 8.1 laptop (Lenovo Thinkpad E530)

Hi, It's a newly bought printer. I am unable to connect to the printer via Wireless Direct from Windows 8.1 64bit laptop. I have enabled the Wireless Direct with security on the Printer. Connected to the Printer SSID from my laptop wifi. Created the new printer from Driver software. It discovers the printer with it's name,IP etc; Upon selecting the printer and click on 'Next' button on the screen, results in a 5 min search process and finally displays that it could not connect. I have tried pinging the printer and it's able to pingf the IP of the printer successfully. I have even tried disabling the Norton antivirus, but result is the same. regards, sathwik

  • Apple Wireless Keyboard with Windows 7 on non Apple Hardware

    Good Day,
I love the Apple Wireless Keyboard and it's the on I use when using my Thinkpad laptop as a desktop, meaning connected to an external Monitor and with an external keyboard and mouse. The Keyboard I use is an Apple Wireless Keyboard.
On my MBA 13 I use Windows 7 as my OS and the Apple lyouted keyboard works actually quite well with windows: The function keys perform very much like in Mac OSX with the volume, screen brightness, the fn+left or right for "home" or "end" etc.
Not I bought an Apple Wireless Keyboard to use in conjuction with my Thinkpad but all does features are missing. I guess that this has to to that on the MBA 13 the appropriate drivers where installed when the whole Bootcamp Software package was installed.
Since I obviously cant install the whole Bootcamp CD on non Apple Hardware, is there any way to just download somewhere the drivers for Apple KEyboards so the behave the same way as they would on a Mac running Windows?
Or is there any other way I could use my Apple Wireless Keyboard with non Apple Hardware the same way it behaves on my MBA 13 running Windows 7? Can somwhere lolely the Apple Keyboard drivers be downloaded?
I want to thank anyone who is kind enough to help mme with this mather in advance and please leave out comments of the kind that I it's my fault, I should have bought an Apple machine from the beginning. I have my reasons and If anyone can't handle that I kindly ask you to just ignore this post unless it's constructive and helpful contribution

  • Help on wireless broadband

    Hi,
I have a customer outside the USA and want to
set up a wireless internet service within 20-30
    miles radius of a city.
What is the best way to do this?
    thanks

    [email protected]

Proprietary solutions like LMDS and MMDS are doing just that. Actually, MMDS is more appropriate in your case. (LMDS - Local Multipoint Distribution Service,
MMDS - Multichannel Multipoint Distribution Service)
MMDS is being used by Sprint Broadband to provide Wireless broadband in some areas, however, they stopped accepting new customers. Official explanation was that MMDS is not economical solution.
IEEE 802.16 is an emetging standard poised to replace MMDS/LMDS and promissing up to 155 Mbps in the 2-10 GHx lisenced and 11-63 unlicences spectrum. 802.16 is for building wireless metropolitan area networks as an economical method of high-speed (2 - 155Mbps ) "last-mile" connection to public networks.
802.16 was ratified last December. It may take another half a year to a year to see any GA 802.16 equipment on the market.

  • Apple Wireless Keyboard under Windows 7 pairing but not responding

    Hi all,
I'm having a strange issue getting my Apple Wireless Keyboard to run on my new HTPC under Windows 7 (64 bit). I can get Windows' bluetooth manager to detect the keyboard, and I can input the pairing code, following which Windows seems to install a bunch of drivers, but then I get no response from the keyboard at all.
The thing I find strange is that the keyboard works when I punch in the code numbers, but never before or after.
I also have a Magic Mouse which works perfectly.
Once paired and installed, the keyboard is displayed in Windows' driver manager as a "Bluetooth Peripheral Device", so I'm wondering if the issue is that Windows isn't recognising the device as a keyboard.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks heaps, in advance.

  • Group Policy to disable ability to turn off wireless networking in Windows 8.1 Update

I am wanting to disable the ability to turn off wireless networking in our Windows 8.1 Update clients using Group Policy. We are a school that runs classroom management software enabling the teachers to view what the students have on their screens.
Students just switch off their wireless to avoid detection. I have searched the Group Policy listings and can't find anything.
    Thanks.

    Hi  GeoffAUS,
I can’t find a direct group policy to disable the users’ ability to turn off the wireless network in Windows 8.1.
If we just disable the display of wireless connection, we will need to additionally disable the ability that disabling the driver in device manager.
We could try the workaround to use UAC to control the wireless connection.
Go to Computer Configuration->Windows Settings->Security Settings->Local Policy->Security Options, and set the option
User Account Control: Behavior of the elevation prompt for standard users.
Please make sure the computer automatically connect to Wireless.
