Wireless camera video feed?

I'm part of a group doing a project of remotely controlling a RC plane. As such a camera is required to be mounted onto the RC plane so as to provide a video feed for the user on the ground to control the RC plane with. Because the RC plane will be controlled wireless, the camera mounted also has to be wireless. We have decided on a wireless camera set up that outputs through a RGB output at the receiver end. I was hoping you could tell me how we can hook the RGB video receiver up to a laptop to receive the wireless video feed and display the video feed on Labview.

hi Grad,
very nice idea! ;-)
but unfortunately the only thing I could found 'bout is this.
greets!

  • After upgrading to mountain lion, my ip camera video feeds time out

I've been using my iMacs for a few years to monitor six ip Camera video feeds.  The cameras I use are both FOSCAM and AXIS brands.  I've used a few third party software solutions to do the monitoring, but I could also always use Safari to access a camera at a time by putting that camera's IP address in the address field and logging into the camera.
After upgrading to Mountain Lion, my video feeds started timing out when using DComplex's IP Camera Viewer, so I thought initially it was strictly an issue with that third party app.  However, I then logged into my cameras using Safari and they timed out as well.  Similarly, when using Axis Camera viewer, my video feeds would time out.  It seems as whatever the issue, it does not affect Firefox, because I can still login and monitor 1 feed at a time using that browser without any timeout issues, and for some odd reason, the FOSCAM only program uFoscam works, but the problem for me with that app is that it only works with Foscam, and not the Axis cameras (besides it's an inferior program to IP Camera Viewer in my opinion as well).
Has anyone encountered this problem and come up with a solution?  I'm thinking it's some sort of plugin or video codec problem, but it's well above my paygrade to figure it out.

I'm having the same problem with both my Vivotek wired network camera and Panasonic wireless network cameras. At first I thought this was an issue with the video framework in Mountain Lion, but if Firefox is working (I haven't tried it yet), it sounds like it may be an objective-c video library that has been changed. It's possible Firefox is using an objective-c interface that calls an objective-c function that isn't called by Safari or IP Camera Viewer, etc., (possibly a function that is on its way to be deprecated) or Firefox could use it's own library that directly calls the video framework.
Could be the Mountain Lion objective-c framework has a buffering issue.
Since this is occuring in both 3rd party software and Apple software, it sounds like it's an Apple issue. 3rd party applications typically utilize the Apple Developer objective-c frameworks to access video frameworks/libraries (for example, MJPEG). Thus, contacting 3rd party developers may not solve the situation (unless they can figure out a temporary bandaid--possibly figuring out the video framework call that Firefox uses and patching their software to do the same (not a simple task), but could still provide more feedback to Apple via their developer status.
Has anyone attempted to record from their cameras via iMovie or Final Cut Pro X HD? I will try mine later tonight to see if it records the hanging. If it does, then it's looking more and more like Apple's the culprit.
My suggestion is for everyone to file a bug report via http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html

  • HT2090 External iSight camera video feed working fine but mic is not working Mac Pro 2009 and Mountain Lion 10.8.4

Finally I decided to move forward and installed Mountain Lion 10.8.4 (with all the updates). Now I am facing a dilemma, my external iSight Camera  is working fine regarding the video fee but the Mic is useless. I am using a Mac Pro 2009 and a Apple Cinema Display 30". I checked all the trends about iSight External devices but no one has a really specific solution for my problem. Firewire is not longer supported with Mountain Lion? By the way my iSight was working perfectly before. So I am wondering if something wrong happened with the OS and the support for this kind of device?   I reset the PRAM, the SMC, even I reinstalled the MAC OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4) from scratch. So I am wondering if the problem is that ML is not longer supporting this device or what is the issue here.
Hope someone can help me with it!
    Thanks

Not true.  External iSight works fine with my '09 Mac Pro and 10.8.4.

    So it must have.

You have tried several good things, but there may be other suggestions from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090 that you have not yet considered.  Be sure to check more than one Apple app in more than one user account to help you pinpoint the cause of your trouble.  Then you will know what to fix.
In addition to the Apple troubleshooting, check your  > System Preferences... > Sound > Input to verify that your iSight's mic is selected, not muted, and that its volume setting is properly adjusted.  You may need to check this again after restarting Mac or changing apps that use the mic.
Also, be certain that the apps you are testing are configured to use iSight's mic.  Different apps select the mic in different ways.  For example, QuickTime X allow selection among various microphone alternatives via one of its preferences as shown in the image below:
(I was using my Display microphone and did not have my external iSight connected when I made this image.  Therefore, there is no iSight mic shown in my list of mic choices above.  If your iSight's mic is properly connected, turned on, and recognized by your Mac, iSight will show in your QTX microphone preference choice list.)
If you are trying to use your iSight with a Flash based web site, also check your Mac's  > System Preferences... > Flash Player > Camera and Mic settings to verify that your Flash system preferences are not blocking your mic.
Some other apps may offer mic and or camera selection via their application menus.  If you have trouble finding out how to select the iSight internal mic in other apps, check each apps' Help or post back the name of the app whose selector you cannot locate here so we can try to help.

  • Video Feed using multiple logitech USB cameras .... help!

I am a novice labview programmer that is undertaking a project in which i need to acquire several video feeds on a front panel in Labview.  i need the video feeds to have adjustable framerates and also monochrome feed would be a benefit.  My current problem is just knowing how to get started. I'm looking at avoiding Labview IMAQ if possible.  I have gotten the camera to work in labview under a sample code ( which is terribly confusing) so i know i have proper drivers installed and that it is indeed compatible with Labview.  The cameras i am using are the logitech C200 and C500 models with standard USB connectivity.
Any guidance would be much appreciated, as this school project needs some advancement and im stuck in a rut.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Sam,
    I'm back with questions!
I got the video feed to display using the link you gave me and a simple acquire within a while loop.  My current issue is acquiring a feed in grayscale (monochrome) within labVIEW.  I have tried using the express method (which lets me choose my display method) and also within my own program thati currently have up and running for multiple cameras, however i have no success.  Whatever i choose keeps my image in RGB 32.  I am wondering if it is the camera itself (which I doubt, because labVIEW conditions the signal regardless).
Also i would like to be able to adjust the framerate at which the cameras capture.  (Again i tried this within the express acquistion and get nothing.)
I'm thinking i may be able to accomplish this using a timed loop and vary clock speed, but this seems impractical within IMAQ.
Any guidance would be much appreciated.
    Thanks alot.
    Drew.

  • Live video feed from camera and other PC

My Mac Pro is being shipped as we speak. I'm new to this, and not up with all the lingo so please bear with me. I'm hoping you all can help me figure out what I'm trying to accomplish:
I currently VJ (Video Jockey) with certain software on a PC and send that video mix out (DVI or VGA) to a Plasma TV. I just bought a Canon A1 camera and a Mac Pro w/FCP studio. How can I mix the live video feed of the Canon with the video feed from PC (preferably in HD)?
I also want to be able to record and edit the footage from the Canon later.
I was told by the guys at the Apple store that I could do this using FCP multicam. Is that true? I read a couple posts on here that say FCP is just editing software and can't do live feed. Then what is the purpose of multicam? Please help. Thanks-
    mac pro   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   Two 2.66GHz Dual-Core

The Apple people probably didn't understand that you wanted a live mix. FCP can't help you there.
MultiCam is an FCP feature "post-switching" multicamera recordings for that live-to-tape look. It is fairly complex, and especially with only two "cameras" you would be muchn better to start off editing them on the timeline.
As for a live switch you need a video switcher. Outside the realm of FCP, but http://bhphoptovideo.com is a great place to do research.
Then if you're really serious you can record both feeds plus optionally the live switched output for further manipulation in FCP or elsewhere.

Aloha. I have a Linksys Wireless Internet Video Camera and am trying to set it up at home. I have an Airport Extreme network at home. The manual the came with the camera is for windows setup. Is there any way to setup up my camera on my network? All my computer at home are all Macs. Please help. Mahalo (Thank You)!

  • How To Select One Video Feed During A Conference

I have a need to conference with three people and show them a single video presentation. I only need to hear their audio feeds, I do not need to see their video, and they do not need to see each other.
I thought it was possible in iChat to select which of the two conference windows would be full screen. But I don't seem to be able to find a way to do this.
    To be clear –
I have a video which is essentially my video feed.
I need to have two different people in two different locations see it at the same time
I need to be able to hear their comments.
I don not need to see them, and they do not need to see each other.
When the screen is split into two windows at an angle, the quality of the video I am sending degrades and the the forced presentation perspective makes the picture even harder to see. Also, there is no reason to tie up the bandwidth with video feeds from my collegues. The ONLY need to see the video, not each other. We all only need to hear each other (my audio is run throug a mixer so I can send video audio as well as my voice).
I thought about trying a video/audio conference, but can't figure out how to invite them to a video chat if they are both audio only. I did mangae to get one of them online as audio only, but it still created the same presentation screen only with a static placeholder where the video would normally be for one of them.
Is there any way to do what I want, i.e. share a single video source with multiple people in full screen, and enable two way audio with all parties at the same time?

    Hi,
I thought about trying a video/audio conference, but can't figure out how to invite them to a video chat if they are both audio only. ...
This can be done if the Buddy goes to the Video menu and Disables the Camera (or Video chat if Lion).
However you are right in that iChat presumes there will be video and still places the place holder for that "Video"
I must admit to not having tried this with two Audio Only Buddies whilst sending Video myself.
Logic says it should be possible.
iChat does base the video quality on what it can manage.
This is based on your upload speed and that (download) of the Buddies.
(one Buddy can slow thing up to an extent that in 3 and 4 way chats the Video will drop off - normally the last person added)
If you can get One Way Video with two Audio Only Buddies the Bandwidth issue should not raise it's head.
    However things to try:-
In iChat Menu > Preferences > Video section set the Bandwidth Drop down to 1Mbps  (Also try it at 500kbps)
The 500kbps is high enough for 3 and 4 way full on Video chats  but you may have issues if the Streamed Video is more detailed than the 640 X 480 pixels for ichat Best rate in iChat 5  (720 X 480 in iChat 6). AT this point you lose out to iChat trying to process the Video.
Strangely the Yahoo App for Mac does exactly what you want. (At least in one to one chats)
It deals with Video as a Stream that others can then look at whilst Audio is more like ichat in that it is Buddy to Buddy.
I don't have enough Buddies in Yahoo (And using the Yahoo App to test this further.

  • Using FCP for live video feed

    Hi,
I'm currently shooting with the new HVX200 Panasonic camera. We're using a small, 7" hand-held HD monitor to use for focus-pulling, but I'd like to be able to use a computer monitor or laptop for a live video feed. (director's monitor)
We've considered using the component-out to go into a Component-VGA adapter for a computer monitor, but I'm wondering if we can do a direct feed using FireWire into FCP or something.
Anyone have any experience doing a computer-monitor setup for use with these kinds of cameras?
    Thanks for the help!

    Everything   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    hey there RI,
if you've tried something similar on your iMac & had no problems it's reasonable to think/believe it will work on your MBP, w/ this caveat: the 400 & 800 ports are actually on the same buss, so the 800 port will handle it's data at the lower(400) rate if there is a device on each port. shouldn't affect any editing w/ the drive once the cam is removed from the MBP. it should the run @ the higher rate.
    good luck.

  • Can't get video feed

Hey! I've attached several cameras to my computer, and OnLocation has recognized the camera. It'll even say "Video feed interrupted" or something like that when I disconnect the camera. However, I haven't been able to get any image in OnLocation of any kind. All I get is a blank screen. Any suggestions?

Since you're shooting DV, not HDV, that rules out the trial version as the cause--the trial does not support HDV.
    Which means more questions:
    * Do you have any other programs running that could be grabbing the video stream. (Only one program can tap into that stream at a time.)
    * How long is the FireWire cable? (Longer cables are more likely to fail, although that's less of a concern with DV than DVCPROHD.)
    And some suggestions:
    * Try another FireWire cable.
    * Try a different FireWire port or, if possible, a different card altogether
    * If no other cables or cards are available, try at least unplugging the cable from the computer and plugging it back in and/or cycling power on the camera.
Also, you did not respond re: the version you're running.

  • Live Camera Webcam Feed

    Hello all,
I have created a website on iWeb and want to add a live video feed from a camera attached to my mac at home. (I have a condo that has a great city view and want to add it to my website) Any tips on how to do this? I purchased a webcam with built in server, but found it too difficult, I am thinking of now just having a dedicated Mac with the camera plugged in running 24/7.
A bit more about my set up: I have comcast internet with a Airport Extreme router. My iWeb site is hosted on MobileMe. Any thoughts of what application I could use to do streaming video, and how to get it to show up on my iWeb site.
    Thank you.

  • Anyone used VisionNet system "designed to provide real-time streaming video feeds over the Internet"?

I'm a Mac user and we only have Macs at home. My son just started preschool, which offers a VisionNet system--"a state-of-the-art system of cameras, servers, and software designed to provide real-time streaming video feeds over the Internet." However, on the VisionNet FAQ page, it specifies the following:
"You need a web browser that is Java-enabled, perferably Microsoft Internet Explorer.  If you're running Microsoft Internet Explorer, it needs to be version 6.x or higher.  We recommend Internet Explorer 6.x as this is the latest and most up-to-date product release.  Some Windows XP and Windows XP Professional users will have do download a Java runtime environment in order to use the VisionNet system if they have not done so already."
We don't have any PCs at home, so I  tried to log in using my MacPro desktop, my old MacBook Pro and my new MBP. Basically, for the last 3 weeks I've managed to access the site only ONCE from my desktop and after the time-out session, I wasn't able to log on ever again (I just cannot enter any keys on the Username and Password fields at login). If I hit the Logon button from the FAQ page, I get an "Unauthorized Access" pop-up message: "This site may only be entered from an authorized web site! Please enter this site from your childcare provider's web site." When I enter "OK" I immediately get a pop-up menu "Confirm Dialog Preference. Prevent this page from creating additional dialogs" but I still can't enter any keys at login. It does nothing!
The "support guy" has NO knowledge of Macs, so I don't know where else to go. The fact that I had successfully logged on once makes me believe it's something I have to update/delete/add in my Preferences in Firefox (I've used Safari and Chrome with no success). I've also considered purchasing an inexpensive PC just for this lousy VisionNet system  but I want to see if anyone has any ideas or advice.
Can anyone please help me?   Thank you in advance!

Here is a link to the finished PSA at Vimeo. It is not an outstanding production or anything too special, but it is worth noting that while some of the stills were doctored in Photoshop, the entirety of the editing and motion graphics were done in Premiere CS6.02; and the timeline playback was RealTime thanks to the MPE Hardware Acceleration and a GTX 560 2GB.

  • Multiple video feed switching

    Hi All,
I was hoping someone could tell me if it is possible to do the following.
I have 3 video feeds recorded.  For the sake of ease, A B & C.
They are all shot from different positions, at the same time.  I guess the easiest way to describe it, think of a football match, just 3 cameras not 30.
What i am wanting to do is to have the 3 feeds and switch between them so for example.
Start with Feed A for 15 seconds, then switch to Feed B for 7 seconds, back to A, then to C so on and so on.
I have played around a little bit, but can't seem to work it out.  I seem to get the audio tracks overlapping each other.  I basically want to do it without having to create a heap of small files cut from the main source.
    Any help is greatly appriciaited.
    Thanks
    Andrew

    Thanks Jeff,
    However, if i may ask.
    It says to:
"Note: In order to retain audio from more than one track simultaneously, mix all the desired tracks to a single track in the source sequence, select the resulting audio track, and deselect the Audio Follows Video option."
It says to do this, but i have searched everywhere and can't find how to mix the audio into 1 track.  is this done before nesting in a new sequence?  I know where the Audio Follows part is, thats fine, just the mixing.
Am i missing something so obvious it will make me want to punch myself afterwards!!!
    Thanks again.
