Wireless Charger problem

Why wont my S5 charge on the wireless pad only when the pad is connected to an outlet.

    bigdoggy77,
Let's clear things up. I completely understand the confusion. Given that the wireless charging pad does not have an internal battery it will require power from an outlet to provide power to the phone. The wireless charging pad is considered wireless there is no wire required to plug into your device to charge it.

  • Nokia Lumia Icon + DT900 wireless charging problem

I bought a Nokia Lumia Icon which had a defected SIM card tray. I replaced the daughter engine board where the SIM card tray is located without charging the phone first (the battery was completely empty) and now when I'm trying to charge the phone wirelessly with DT900, it just doesn't work. So I don't know whether it worked (or not) before my fixing procedure.
DT900 works with my wife's Lumia 1020 and my Lumia 928 so there's nothing wrong with it.
So all you technical gurus over here:
    1) how does the wireless charging work with Lumia Icon/930? I.e. does anyone have any wiring diagrams for Lumia Icon/930? There are two pins on the main board but where do they go? I didn't detach the main board, only the engine cover assembly and the battery in order to replace the daughter engine board where the SIM card tray is. So does the engine cover assembly have anything to do with the wireless charging (I don't think so) or do those pins go straight to the battery?
    2) does anyone know whether this is a common problem among Lumia Icon / 930 phones? A type fault or a serie of phones with defective rear cover and its wireless charging assembly?
I'd really appreciate if someone could help me. Thanks a lot in advance!

I can understand that when a manufacturer provides a free user forum they do not appreciate information posted which may cause problems and then be held responsible for the damages as it is an 'official' resource provided by the manufacturer.
I'd suggest you lookup the meaning of censorship which this most definately is not.

  • Lumia 925 + wireless charging back = broken BT voi...

I'm posting this in case anyone else has discovered this problem.
I've got a Lumia 925 with the wireless charging back fitted. If I use the phone with a Bluetooth headset to listen to audio on the phone, it is fine. If I use the BT headset, or BT functionality in my car, to make or receive a telephone call, the voice audio is very broken and intermittent. Sometimes ending and restarting the call clears it, but not very often.
What *does* cure the problem is removing the wireless charging back. I have noted that the phone does NOT need to actually be charging for the interference - it just needs to be fitted.
I am NOT sure if the problem is being caused by the accessory or by the phone itself. I am arranging for the accessory to be replaced first (less hassle) but it could well be the phone.

I am having the same exact problem. I was initially thinking that this is some compatability issue between my car's integrated BT support, but as you suggested, once I have removed the charging cover, the issue is gone. What's interesting is that this will continue even if the cover is removed from the phone and until next restart of the phone.
Anyone has solution to this? BTW: I can confirm that in my previous Lumia 920 and my wife's Lumia 820 with wireless cover this does not happen.

  • Wireless charging phone holder to be placed in car...

Nokia please build a wireless charging phone holder to be placed in cars so that drivers can charge their phones while using navigation etc.

    Thanks Farby,
    @JianXingQuek
Hi if you look http://www.brodit.com/ and put in the make and model of the the device you have they should have a passive or charging holder for your device which can fit in you car. The charging option comes with a cigarette lighter charger attached but there are also options from various engineers who can hardwire the charger cable so that it is hidden and the cigarette isn't obscured.

  • Nokia Wireless Charger (NFC), no weather info show...

    Hello,
I have problem (and also other people in wpcentral forum) with wireless charging (with NFC) stand. If you activate "show weather and calendar" app for NFC to open, you should see a big clock, next calendar appointment and weather info on your night screen. Problem is that it doesn't show weather info?
Could anyone say what is the problem. What I have read, people in US have no problems, but peope outside US do (but not all). I am from Finland if it matters.
All setups are ok and I have tried three different weather apps also. Nothing works.
    Any solutions what to do
    Jouni

I have the same problem (Lumia 920, DT-910 charging stand, location Germany). I have all updates installed, also for the "Accessories", otherwise there wouldn't be any "Weather and calendar" app selectable, as far as I know.
For me, only the clock is visible. Calendar events most likely as well, so far I don't have any in the calendar so there is nothing to show. But NO weather which would be really cool! So how to get the weather on screen? Changing from automatic location search to putting in my city in the stand settings doesn't change the problem. The city is there, just no weather information on screen. What a pity.
    Any ideas?
By the way, I read that it is completely normal to not have the "weather and calendar" app in the app list. It is a special feature for the DT-910 stand so it is only visible in the stand settings.

  • 920 chiming on the wireless charging pad... grrr.....

A while back, one of the updates to the Lumia 920 caused it to begin chiming periodically while resting on the wireless charging pad (or, as I've discovered, sitting in the wireless car charger, too). I'm not talking about the initial chime when it is first set down and begins charging. No, this chime happens randomly as long as it remains on the charger... I've heard it happen a couple of times within just a few minutes, and I've heard it wait an hour or two before going off again. Of course, if you set the phone to vibrate, it will just "buzz" instead of "bing," but it's still going off.
Prior to this problem, I used to set my 920 on the wireless charger on my nightstand and let it juice up overnight. Once the binging started, I was forced to either stop using the wireless charger (bummer... that's one of the things I really like about the 920) or set the phone to silence so I could sleep through the random vibrating (though my work requires me to be on-call for emergencies, so that doesn't really work).
When I first contacted Nokia about this problem several months ago, they said they were aware of the problem and would fix it in a future update. Well, the "black" update didn't fix it.
I spoke with Customer Support at Nokia today, and the guy had no knowledge of the problem. (Wasn't too impressed with his knowledge about the phone at all, for that matter, but that's a different issue.) He asked if I had ever tried resetting the phone, which of course I had and was actually a part of the "black" update even if I hadn't. Then he suggested that it might be a problem with my specific phone, and he wanted me to send it in for an engineer to take a look. When I pointed out that we've got 4 Lumia 920s here and they all have had the same problem since it was introduced in an earlier update, he still wanted me to send in my phone.
So I'm really, really frustrated. I love my 920. In fact, the one thing that's kept me from jumping to the 1020 is the built-in wireless charging (I don't think it's as elegant when added with a case like the 1020). So am I stuck with ignoring the wireless charging capabilities now? Plugging it in the old way at night, and considering the investment of a bunch of wireless charging plates for our bedsides to be a waste?
Any chance Nokia will step in and offer a solution? Any other use figure this one out?
    Sc00teR

I had the same issue on my 820 and Black did fix it. Have you checked that you have updated all system apps after you got Black ? Lumia System Updater is one of the free apps which can do that for you.

  • Wireless charging issues Lumia 930 and DT-601

    Hi all,
So got my Lumia 930 just over a week a go and everything is pretty much fine (other than the differences that need getting used to after two years of using a Iphone), however the one issue i'm having is with the wireless charging plate that comes with the phone.
It seems to be very tempermental with regards actually charging my phone, sometimes I can get it to charge and it is fine and then other times (like today) it will  not charge no matter what I do, plug into wall, plug into laptop...no LED light on and no indication on the phone that it is charging.
At first I thought it was a hardware issue with the charger so went back to my phone suplier and they sent me the money for a new one. Initially this worked fine and I managed to get the original working (after a bit of patience as I didn't realise there was a slight delay between placing and charging). However as previously mentioned the last couple of days it's not charging at all (though did manage to get it to work last night but when woke up this morning it was sat there not charging.
Anyone else had these problems and is it more likely to be a phone hardware issue rather than the charger?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
    JenksNo1

sounding to me like it could be the phone itself unfortunately. have u checked you are up to date with the latest firmware for your device along with the latest Nokia system app updates from the Store? also try performing a soft reset.

  • Maxwell Air Voltage - wireless charger

    Hi,
I bought recently a Maxwell Air voltage, wireless charger.
When charging, my iphone 4S does not stop vibrating every 2-3 min.
I would like to know if there are other similar experiences.
The company Maxell says this is not an issue, what I can't believe.
    Kind regards,

When you say vibrating are you saying the iPhone physically vibrates or the vibrate alert activates?  Eitehr way does not sound like it would be a good thing to have happen because of charging.  You might want to check with Apple support or a genius bar person and see if this is a problem for the iPhone...the iPhone is a lot more expensive than that charger.

  • Nokia 925 Wireless Charging

Hi, I have just acquired a 925 and I also have 2 920 at my place.
I seem to have a problem charging wirelessly on my 925.
Charges then disconnects then charges again.
Initially, I thought it was an issue with my charging pads, fyi, I have 2 wireless charging pads as well.
The standing version & they flat on table version.
When I place my other two 920 on either one of them, no problems charging what so ever.
This totally proves to me that neither one of the charging plates are faulty
So I thought, it's probably the chaging clip on on the phone that has issues.
I went to get it replaced today by the shop I got the 925 from.
Now I'm home, I'm still having the same problems when charging.
Is it my phone since I got the charging clip replaced already?

This an issue based on "BATCH!"
I got mine resolved by going to Nokia Care.
They replaced the back charging clip to new one & now it's charging perfectly well.
It has been observed that some back plates given as free gifts by Telcos were giving this prob.
It's not isolated, so going to Nokia Care getting it replaced would be an instant fix.
At least it did for me.

  • JBL PowerUp Wireless Charging Speaker for Nokia

My JBL PowerUp Wireless Charging Speaker for Nokia no longer charges my Lumia 920. It charges fine on my Nokia charging plate so that rules out a problem with the phone itself. All other functions of the speaker work fine - it just will no longer charge my Lumia 920. Anyone else have this problem?

    hi mate,
you will have to get in touch with JBL and also your local Nokia Care if possible: http://nokia.com/support

  • Nokia Wireless Charging Plate not working

I got a free wireless charging plate through AT&T when I bought my Lumia 920 and the other day I woke up to find that my phone had not charged while laying on it overnight.
The LED indicator on the plate blinks rapidly, which according to the manual means there was some kind of charging error, but there doesn't seem to be any way of fixing or resetting it. It just blinks whether the phone is on it or not and no matter how many times I unplug it and plug it back in, it just blinks and will not charge my phone anymore.
It sat on my nightstand next to my bed and has never been abused or had anything happen to it that might have made it stop working, it just did, out of nowhere.
Does anyone on here know of a way of fixing it beside just unplugging it and plugging it back in as Nokia suggests? That method is producing no results.
It's looking like I'm going to just have to exchange it for a new one and hope this doesn't happen again. I can't find anyone else on the internet that seems to have had this problem, so hopefully it's not a big issue and mine just happens to be a lemon. I could understand if I had dropped it or something, but all it did since I got it was sit on my nightstand. One day it worked, and the next it didn't.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I have had problems with the charging too. Some times it works good, some times it has stoped charging during night and some times it hasn't charged at all.
I keep my Fat Boy packed charging plate on the floor besides my bed. And we have electrical floor heating.
I guess that the magnetic field the floor heating creates, when it is on, is causing my problems... So likewise any disturbing magnetic fields can do the same. In my case the heating comes on at 10 PM and is normally on for hour or so. Quite often I go to bed before or at that time. So I am quite sure that the problem is what I just explained.
The question to Nokia is, that my phone is still showing that it is charging. Is the problem in the brains of the charging plate (does it have any?) or the phone (Lumia 920)? As it's clear that the external magnetic field can disturb the charging process, but like in my case the disturbance is only temporary. So couldn't there be more intelligence on the devices that they could recover from this?
I can correct it my self, if I noticed it before morning, by taking phone of the plate and putting it back. Couldn't the phone do this by itself when it notices that the battery actually isn't charging? I mean some how disconnect itself from the wireless charger and connect again...
Oh and the charging is okay despite my floor heating, when I manage to but the charging plate exactly right place on the floor. There is some one centimeter marging to do that. So I haven't got it right every time.
And I don't know what the light of the charger is sayin as it is inside the fat boy cover... Didn't even remember that there is any lights...

  • Wireless charging faulty?

I charged my Lumia 920 on the Fatboy. It's charging and battery showing 100% and the phone is not hot. So it's all good. Problem is the phone is left alone overnight (6-7 hours) then the battery dropped below 80%. No app is running. When I restart my phone the battery is 100% again. I used wired charging last time and I don't see the problem. I think this only happen on wireless charging. I noticed this problem starting about 3-4 weeks ago. Only difference is my Fatboy is always plug in now. I just let it sit on my desk. Do I have to unplug it everytime? Is this Nokia or Mircosoft problem?

If your not using it i would unplug it using the wireless charging is a bit slower than plugged in.
Maybe the device needs a restart to recalculate the percentage, ive one or two devices at home that read the same percentage when fully charged and when restarted read the correct charge.
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.
    Now using the Lumia 1520

  • 925 wireless charging, and holster

I've had my 925 for about  8 months, and I love it.  (just a side note, Nokia needs to stop being exclusive with AT&T)  I just bought the Nokia CC-3065 wireless charging receiver for it, and can't wait to try it out.  My problem is that the phone is now to small to fit in the oem holster that I purchased when I got he phone.  I went online to order a holster that will work with it, but nothing seems to pop up.  The results are for eveything but what I need.  Does anyone know if there is a belt holster, similar to this ' www.t-mobile.com/accessories/nokia-lumia-925-shellholster-combination-black.html ' that will work with the CC-3065, instead of the 'shell' that comes with this bundle???
    Thanks-
    Bill

hi mate, there is no holster that i have ever seen. unfortunately when bulk is added to certain accessories, there doesn't seem to be anything that either combines the two functions into the one accessory, or if there is that is it. sorry.

    Hi
I am experiencing wireless connection problem on 4s after ios 8.1 upgrade. The wireless icon appears showing that it's connected but webpages do not load. I have checked my internet connection with other devices and seems to be alright. what to do?
I have tried reseting the network settings and forgetting my wireless connection and re-connecting to it. I even backed up my phone on itunes and restored it, factory reseted it. Nothing seems to work.
Also after my upgrade to ios 8.1 my personal hotspot option under cellular data has disappeared.
Would you please help me out? I would really appreciate it.

    Hi..
Restart your router then restart the iPhone to test.
