Wireless charger?

Is there a wireless charging pad available -- or in development -- for iPad 2 or Mini?  I just ordered one for iPhone 4 and it got me thinking how I hate hooking up the connector to charge this iPad 2 each night.  I rarely use the mini but would love to have a pad/mat that accepts both.

Apple patents a lot of things.
Most of them never see the light of day.
Even if Apple releases something with wireless charging-it won't affect any product currently out.

  • Nokia lumia 1520 with Nokia Wireless Charging Plat...

I brought a nokia lumia 1520 and a wireless charger from AT&T. I tried to charge my phone when it had almost no power in it. But the white light kept blinking while I put my phone on it. And I'm sure that no other device between the two objects. Does anybody know what is going on with it?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The AT&T 1520 does not have Q1 wireless charging. This is what the DT-900 is.
It has PMA wireless charging. AT&T had Nokia change the wireless chang platform to PMA, which is different than other Nokia phones.
    Complain to AT&T !     I did.

  • Lumia 822 wireless charging: really misleading, No...

    Quite annoyed by this:
If you look under Lumia 822 specifications, they say this:
    http://www.nokia.com/us-en/products/phone/lumia822/specifications/
    (Under Hardware):
    Wireless connectivity
    Bluetooth 3.0
    Near Field Communication
    Wi-Fi Channel bonding
    WLAN IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n
    Qi Wireless charging
However, as it turns out, 822 also requires a wireless charging shell? For the 820, at least you see that as a listed option under Accessories, but for the 822, it is not there?
I dunno - seems wrong to me; why not have a "*" is there is a footnote needed that wireless charging shell is needed? I guess I'll keep the dual wireless charger I bought for the future with the hope that shells will become available and will not cost too much?

@slaverenz-     read the user guide: http://nds1.nokia.com/phones/files/pdf_guides/devices/822/Nokia_Lumia_822_UG_en.pdf
    Page 16.
In order to charge wirelessly, NFC must be enabled.  I talked to Nokia support on the phone.  NFC is necessary to connect the phone to the secondary device, whether it be a charging plate or headset, etc.  When one goes to the settings and turns on NFC, only NFC sharing is enabled.  When the shell that has not been released becomes available, it contains an NFC contact point (square) that must touch with another device to activate (the center of the charging plate for example.  The phone does not charge via NFC, but connects wirelessly to the charging plate through it.

  • Lumia 925 + wireless charging back = broken BT voi...

I'm posting this in case anyone else has discovered this problem.
I've got a Lumia 925 with the wireless charging back fitted. If I use the phone with a Bluetooth headset to listen to audio on the phone, it is fine. If I use the BT headset, or BT functionality in my car, to make or receive a telephone call, the voice audio is very broken and intermittent. Sometimes ending and restarting the call clears it, but not very often.
What *does* cure the problem is removing the wireless charging back. I have noted that the phone does NOT need to actually be charging for the interference - it just needs to be fitted.
I am NOT sure if the problem is being caused by the accessory or by the phone itself. I am arranging for the accessory to be replaced first (less hassle) but it could well be the phone.

I am having the same exact problem. I was initially thinking that this is some compatability issue between my car's integrated BT support, but as you suggested, once I have removed the charging cover, the issue is gone. What's interesting is that this will continue even if the cover is removed from the phone and until next restart of the phone.
Anyone has solution to this? BTW: I can confirm that in my previous Lumia 920 and my wife's Lumia 820 with wireless cover this does not happen.

  • Nokia Lumia Icon + DT900 wireless charging problem

I bought a Nokia Lumia Icon which had a defected SIM card tray. I replaced the daughter engine board where the SIM card tray is located without charging the phone first (the battery was completely empty) and now when I'm trying to charge the phone wirelessly with DT900, it just doesn't work. So I don't know whether it worked (or not) before my fixing procedure.
DT900 works with my wife's Lumia 1020 and my Lumia 928 so there's nothing wrong with it.
So all you technical gurus over here:
    1) how does the wireless charging work with Lumia Icon/930? I.e. does anyone have any wiring diagrams for Lumia Icon/930? There are two pins on the main board but where do they go? I didn't detach the main board, only the engine cover assembly and the battery in order to replace the daughter engine board where the SIM card tray is. So does the engine cover assembly have anything to do with the wireless charging (I don't think so) or do those pins go straight to the battery?
    2) does anyone know whether this is a common problem among Lumia Icon / 930 phones? A type fault or a serie of phones with defective rear cover and its wireless charging assembly?
I'd really appreciate if someone could help me. Thanks a lot in advance!

I can understand that when a manufacturer provides a free user forum they do not appreciate information posted which may cause problems and then be held responsible for the damages as it is an 'official' resource provided by the manufacturer.
I'd suggest you lookup the meaning of censorship which this most definately is not.

  • Case for note 4 with original wireless charging cover

I bought a samsung wireless charging cover for my note 4. When I tried to out the case on it, it no longer fits. After doing research I confirmed the phone is slightly thicker now. What cases are compatible with this set up?

I apologize joevas22, I didn't mean to insult you; I need to make sure this was done. I researched this quite thoroughly since you mentioned the size had changed. As stated in the link provided, the dimensions are 8inX2inX5in; our model is 6.04inX3.09inX0.33.  I assure you, this has been the only model we have and not changed anything. This is the link to the manufacturer's page http://bit.ly/1GbpHCS as well as ours http://vz.to/1ttodxd so you verify the information I provided is accurate. I am not sure why the seller listed the case as compatible with all models.

  • Missing Samsung Wireless Charging Pad with Purchase of Galaxy S6

    Hi Bestbuy,
I recently ordered the Galaxy S6 on bestbuy.com. I saw a page that said Free Samsung Wireless Charging Pad with Galaxy S6 purchase valid 3/27/15-5/9/15. I noticed it wasn't added to my order. I also called the customer service line and the representative didn't know what I was talking about. Could you guys please help me out.
    Thank you!
    Jason

    Hi JDiep,
I hope that you have had a great weekend thus far.
From the information I have reviewed, we did recently offer a free Samsung Wireless Charger with the purchase of a Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge.  You would need to have added the charger to your online shopping cart during checkout in-order to advantage of the promotional offer.  I looked over the order you placed using the email address you registered with the forum and it does not appear the charger was attached to your order when it was submitted.
With that having been said, I will be sending you a private message so that I can go over your order with you in additional detail to see what I can potentially do to help.  To check your private messages, you will want to login to the forum and click on the little yellow envelope icon located at the top of the page.  I look forward to further speaking with you.
Thank you for posting to the forum and enjoy your new Samsung Galaxy S6!

  • Wireless Charging Stand NFC Not Working

I am trying to figure out how to configure the NFC for the DT-910 Wireless Charging Stand for my Nokia Lumia 920. It charges fine, but I cannot figure out how to get the NFC to work. When I go to the Accessories Settings, nothing is listed. Do I need to manually download something to do the configuration?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Ok, through trial and search I found the solution!
In the nokia forums, look at this post:
    http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Pool-of-Knowledge/Nokia-Windows-Phone-8-App-Updates/m-p/1640082#M242
    install the lumia pusher
    open the new app
select the “accessories” app and let it install (note the 928 isn’t listed, but it works)
now go to your normal “settings” and scroll down to the bottom and you’ll see “accessories nokia accessories settings”
tap your phone on the base of the stand and it will ask you to run the app (approve). You can make settings changes now for weather, clock, calendar, etc.

  • Wireless charging plates not working

Just received two wrieless charing plates. Despite of the fact that their power adapters are white while they are black (Would be nice if Nokia could match their colors, it isn't so hard and would look much better) none of them seem to be working.
Tried both of them with two different Lumia 920s and nothing happens, no lights or anything. Is there anything I'm missing or did Nokia just sent two deffective units? I find it hard that I was that unlucky.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi there mate,
Please check that you have placed the 920 in the correct area against the charger so that they charge. The area of the backside of the 920 that supports the Qi wireless charging is indicated in the user guide. If you have checked everything else, and it still isn't working, then you may have faulty chargers, or the phone's wireless charging function itself may be defective. It would pay to check with the retailer that you purchased the phone / charging plate with, to see if you can get it working in their shops

  • Wireless charging phone holder to be placed in car...

Nokia please build a wireless charging phone holder to be placed in cars so that drivers can charge their phones while using navigation etc.

    Thanks Farby,
    @JianXingQuek
Hi if you look http://www.brodit.com/ and put in the make and model of the the device you have they should have a passive or charging holder for your device which can fit in you car. The charging option comes with a cigarette lighter charger attached but there are also options from various engineers who can hardwire the charger cable so that it is hidden and the cigarette isn't obscured.

  • Nokia Wireless Charger (NFC), no weather info show...

    Hello,
I have problem (and also other people in wpcentral forum) with wireless charging (with NFC) stand. If you activate "show weather and calendar" app for NFC to open, you should see a big clock, next calendar appointment and weather info on your night screen. Problem is that it doesn't show weather info?
Could anyone say what is the problem. What I have read, people in US have no problems, but peope outside US do (but not all). I am from Finland if it matters.
All setups are ok and I have tried three different weather apps also. Nothing works.
    Any solutions what to do
    Jouni

I have the same problem (Lumia 920, DT-910 charging stand, location Germany). I have all updates installed, also for the "Accessories", otherwise there wouldn't be any "Weather and calendar" app selectable, as far as I know.
For me, only the clock is visible. Calendar events most likely as well, so far I don't have any in the calendar so there is nothing to show. But NO weather which would be really cool! So how to get the weather on screen? Changing from automatic location search to putting in my city in the stand settings doesn't change the problem. The city is there, just no weather information on screen. What a pity.
    Any ideas?
By the way, I read that it is completely normal to not have the "weather and calendar" app in the app list. It is a special feature for the DT-910 stand so it is only visible in the stand settings.

  • 920 chiming on the wireless charging pad... grrr.....

A while back, one of the updates to the Lumia 920 caused it to begin chiming periodically while resting on the wireless charging pad (or, as I've discovered, sitting in the wireless car charger, too). I'm not talking about the initial chime when it is first set down and begins charging. No, this chime happens randomly as long as it remains on the charger... I've heard it happen a couple of times within just a few minutes, and I've heard it wait an hour or two before going off again. Of course, if you set the phone to vibrate, it will just "buzz" instead of "bing," but it's still going off.
Prior to this problem, I used to set my 920 on the wireless charger on my nightstand and let it juice up overnight. Once the binging started, I was forced to either stop using the wireless charger (bummer... that's one of the things I really like about the 920) or set the phone to silence so I could sleep through the random vibrating (though my work requires me to be on-call for emergencies, so that doesn't really work).
When I first contacted Nokia about this problem several months ago, they said they were aware of the problem and would fix it in a future update. Well, the "black" update didn't fix it.
I spoke with Customer Support at Nokia today, and the guy had no knowledge of the problem. (Wasn't too impressed with his knowledge about the phone at all, for that matter, but that's a different issue.) He asked if I had ever tried resetting the phone, which of course I had and was actually a part of the "black" update even if I hadn't. Then he suggested that it might be a problem with my specific phone, and he wanted me to send it in for an engineer to take a look. When I pointed out that we've got 4 Lumia 920s here and they all have had the same problem since it was introduced in an earlier update, he still wanted me to send in my phone.
So I'm really, really frustrated. I love my 920. In fact, the one thing that's kept me from jumping to the 1020 is the built-in wireless charging (I don't think it's as elegant when added with a case like the 1020). So am I stuck with ignoring the wireless charging capabilities now? Plugging it in the old way at night, and considering the investment of a bunch of wireless charging plates for our bedsides to be a waste?
Any chance Nokia will step in and offer a solution? Any other use figure this one out?
    Sc00teR

I had the same issue on my 820 and Black did fix it. Have you checked that you have updated all system apps after you got Black ? Lumia System Updater is one of the free apps which can do that for you.

  • Lumia 920 wireless charging not working after phon...

    Long story short
Coulnd't hear anyone speaking on the phone if volume was turned up over 6 as internal earpiece distorts too badly (there is something loose inside the Lumia 920)
Got the phone back from Nokia care point in Cheltenham UK, earpiece fault not fixed.
Took it home, put it on the wireless charger - it now does not charge whereas it did perfectly before the trip to get 'fixed'
Nokia careport say 'Nothing to do with us, we'll have to send it back to Finland, which will take 3 weeks and you can't have a spare phone'
As a result, my confidence in Nokia is fading fast, won't be giving them any more chances to build a decent phone when this contract ends.

Sounds like the care point has broken it and are refusing to accept responsibility for their actions. Care points are independent and not directly run by Nokia.
I suggest you submit a complaint to Nokia UK on this link:
