Wireless conn not scaning wireless SSID automatically after stanby/hybernate

Hi,
I have cisco 1242 access point running WPA2/AES TKIP profile with EAP authentication in broadcast. I have dell laptops that have  3945ABG wireless card. The connection works when you configure the profile on laptop with windows wireless manager and when computer recovers from stanby/hybernat it doesnot scan the network automatically. you have to refresh the wireless network manager and refresh the network list to make the connection with the SSID. Is this issue is with the laptop or with the Access point? I tried a various things on laptop but not able to troubleshoot so i am thinking it may be some timers/beacon/signal settings that needs to be tweeked. Any help will be appriciated.
Regards

This is most likely a driver issue. http://support.dell.com/

  • Wireless PC not getting a valid IP after DC decommission. DNS?

The prior Access Points were a mix of powered and POE.
We have upgraded to new AP's but we have multiple devices in the same area using the same SSID and are connected along with the Lights being active.
I was thinking access points but with the other equipment there and functional. scratch that.
I have removed the workstation off the domain and was able to join the PC back into the domain but obviously hardwired.
Drivers have been updated on the Linksys Card.
    Access point Verified
I keep coming up with Access point or VLAN...
    Thanks for the input

Well the short version goes like this: acquiringa warehouse that had its own network, a singledomain controller that had the following roles running: DC /File Server/Print Server/ DNS/DHCPand hosted a few vocal warehousingapplications. So after taking possession of the equipment, our network was introduce unknowing of the current DC. After it all came to light weintroduced a member server to replace DC and all that it is running Share Drives / Folders and PrintersOut in the warehouse we had a Wireless WorkStation using a wireless Linksys card that that obtained it DHCP address from the old DC. Now it will connect to the network but will not obtain a valid address. statically assigning an IP doesn't work either. The NIC states it connected but returns a 169. address = no DHCPCould I have a Bad Wireless NIC?

  • 10.4.8 and Airport Extreme - wireless con. not showing up on boot up

Ever since I installed 10.4.8, in order for my 2WIRE connecttion to show up in the "Internet Connect" drop menu on my desk top, I have to check off the "Internet Robustness" setting first, and only then will my airport extreme locate 2WIRE and connect.
I've engaged - and disengaged to see if it made any difference - the preference for "enable interference robustness in the Airpor>options pane. Made no difference. It's not a huge deal, but I wonder why the change. Any ideas?

Could be that a combination of the last OSX 10.4 security update and also
the AirPort Extreme updates have some effects on these subtle or not so
subtle differences in how the system works, now. Mine occasionally won't
work correctly with my desktop iMacG4 unless the Robustness setting is
turned on; and I have the nearby option to choose a wired connection
through the AEBS on the wall by my desktop computer, too. My iBook
seems to mostly just work; unless there is an AEBS or IP/DSL issue.
That kind of problem never used to happen and I'd just lose the wireless
without any understandable reason; at least now I know interference rob-
ustness setting appears to make a difference when it unexpectedly quits,
I have at least one more thing to toggle to see if I get it back; before I
start in on the DSL modem or other settings inside the AirPort Setup Utility.
The last thing if it does not work, is unplug the AEBS and/or ADSL unilt.
But, if you use a small straightened paperclip in the reset hole, you'd
have to check and rechoose settings in the AEBS; as it goes default.
Seems to me, once I uploaded to the AEBS from the iBook that runs
OSX 10.4.x, it was acting funky; but for awhile since another update
was done, it seems to work OK. Since the odd behavior messed with
the iMacG4 (10.3.9) I more often use it via ethernet from AEBS. The
iBook sees the wireless better than the iMacG4. Since both of mine
have Extreme wireless cards, I changed the AirPort's 802.11 to /g only.
That helped a bit and the desktop Mac on wi-fi doesn't drop as much.
I see no real answers to "fix" this; but there is some incidental evidence
that some newer spec wireless base stations may be coming soon to
an authorized reseller or through the authentic online source. Perhaps a
new answer is out there, in new hardware and software. I hope an update
will fix these little issues; I've had one AEBS for about three years and
it used to just work fantastically with OS 9.2.2 and standard airport, with
    dialup. Then I brought in Jaguar in the machines I had then, and Panther;
plus Tiger, and now two other Macintoshes plus a spare AEBS.
    Cross fingers?!

  • Officejet 7310xi does not print two-sided automatically after installing Windows 8.1

When I first purchased my Officejet 7310xi and installed it on my Windows XP desktop PC it worked fine printing two-sided documents automatically. I recently purchased a new desktop PC with Windows 8 and upgraded it to Windows 8.1 and downloaded and installed the Officejet software drivers from the HP download site. But now the printer will not print two-sided documents AUTOMATICALLY -- when this option is selected, I get a pop-up screen telling me to remove the documents from the out tray, turn them around, and reinsert them in the feed bin, i.e., it acts as if I requested two-sided MANUAL printing.

    Hi,
Make sure the Automatic Duplexing option is enabled:
Enter Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
Right click the printer icon, then click Printer Properties.
    Click the Device Settings tab.
Set the Automatic Two-Sided Duplex Accessory as installed and click OK to save the change.
Now Automatic Duplexing should become available.

  • Output message of PO in ECC not processed automatically after order released in GTS

    Dear Experts
PO created in cobalt was blocked in GTS due to legal control. output message of PO was blocked, after the PO was manually released by the user next day, AU open the PO and saved it. output message got processed.
Can you please let me know, why system is not processing the output automatically after the PO is released in GTS.
    Is this the standard process?
    Thanks
    Kiran

    Hi Kiran,
This is called follow on function in GTS.
When document is released, you could trigger background job regularly to process these document.
Open the area menu for SAP GRC Global Trade Services in your feeder system (with transaction code/SAPSLL/MENU_LEGALR3) and choose Recovery Follow-On Functions in Feeder System .
Choose one of the following entries to configure the follow-on functions for the selected application level: Materials Management Trigger Follow-On Functions for Purchasing Documents
Check more details in help document.

  • Deskjet 3510 will not scan wirelessly on OS 10.9

I have a Deskjet 3510 that worked great wirelessly on my old Mac with Snow Leopard. I recently purchased a new IMac with Mavericks OS 10.9.5. The printer will print wirelessly but not scan wirelessly. It will only scan with the USB cable attached. I uninstalled and reinstalled the latest HP software. When I disconnect the USB it says the wireless connection cannot be found. I reset the wireless connection and it is good. What am I missing here?
    This question was solved.

Thanks very much for your help with this. I followed your steps and it is now working. The main problem I saw was that the default setting was "airprint" which kept coming up each time. Needed to be changed to Bonjour. Even when I deleted the printer and then added it back in as you suggested, "airprint" as the Kind kept coming up. Once I changed it, all was good. Thanks again.

  • Access connections does not see wireless networks but can connect if you know the SSID

Running a Thinkpad x200 using windows 7 and Access Connections 5.42.
A few weeks ago i was traveling and was connecting to a hotel wireless network.
Could receive email but wasn't able to send email due to hotel port restrictions so long-story short version-- IT staff at hotel told me to connect via LAN. Which i did by simply plugging in LAN line to the thinkpad and to the hotel -- port -- no other changes. have done this a million times at home and elsewhere.
    All is well....
    until....
I get home and i notice that when i use access connections, it doesn't see any wireless connections (no icons in the radar screen). It automatically connects to my home network and i can use the home profile to connect.  Same for any connection that i know the SSID for -- i can't see it but i can connect to it.
But it doesn't show any icons during "find" or find again. It only shows the home icon i am connected to. If i disconnect and try to find wireless networks. It doesn't show any.
    So i know
    1) radio is working
    2) can connect via lan
    3) can connect to a known wireless if i know the SSID and either manually configure it or if i have the profile saved
    4) i have run antivirus, malwarebytes - etc -- all clean
    5) have rebooted, turned radio on off
    6) system restore doesn't help
    7)  all wireless networks are now invisible to radar screen. Have tried this at starbucks, around town - etc -- available wireless network icons are invisible
I'm not sure that hooking up LAN in the hotel did anything but it seems too coincidental. Also seem to recall a thread where this has been known to happen.
    Help!!!

First off, it sees the networks. That's good. You reset network settings which usually corrects a number of problems. Let's focus on your home network and getting connected to that.
    1. Reboot your router (just power it off for 10 secs). Try to connect. If it works, you are done. If not, step 2
    2. Reset your network settings again. However, this time log onto your network by tapping Settings > WiFi > Other and re-entering your network name, security settings, and password.
Check your connection by tapping the blue > next to the network name with the checkmark. If your IP starts with 169.x, then you are connected but your router is not issuing you an IP address. This leads to a couple of additional problem areas - WEP encryption and outdated router firmware.
If you continue to have problems, tell us which router/model, security settings used, etc.

  • HP 5524 Wireless does not work after firmware upgrade

    HI,
I have just purchased an HP5524.  After initial problems setting up the WPA key from the printer screen, I connected via USB, found the printer and swapped to wireless successfuly. I then installed the printer software on all my computers at home successfully over wireless.
The printer then needed a firmware upgrade to support eprint (?), which is successfully connected, downloaded the fireware, installed and went through the boot cycles successfully.
However, ever since wireless will not work.  Before I return it to the retailer as "not fit for purpose" I thought I would ask the forum.  The diagnostics downloaded a tool, which I went through, but this did not offer solutions that I had not already tried.
    Thank you

    Hi,
Thank you for posting you query,
In order to resolve the issue, please make sure the printer is placed closer to the router and uninstall the printer drivers already installed and then start the instalaltion and seelct teh connection type as wireless network. • Keyboard wireless key not working after upgrading to windows 8.1

    Hello,
I am having hp pavilion dv6-6165tx notebook, where keyboard having a wireless button that turns ON and OFF all wireless devices, After upgrading to windows 8.1, HP Connection Manager is not getting installed, as well as Key is not working, key color turns red and white but no action is performed.
    Kindly suggest me some solution.
Note: HP Doesn't provide drivers for windows 8/8.1 ONLY WINDOWS 7 for hp pavilion dv6-6165tx.
    Thanks.

    Hi @Jayesh_Bhadja ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion dv6-6165tx Notebook and the Wireless keyboard not working correctly. Here is a link to troubleshoot the keyboard.
The HP Connection Manager is something that is for Windows 7 not Windows 8.1. I would uninstall this from your Notebook.  Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need updating. It has a troubleshooting tool in this.
Make sure all your updates have been completed. I would try restarting my Notebook a few times.
If that does not help I would uninstall the keyboard from the Device manager.
    Thanks.

  • Reconnect wireless automatically after network drops

My Mac mini is used as a file server so it's always on plus it sits in the corner with no keyboard / mouse or screen connected. My problem is that when I reboot my wireless router (linksys) the wireless connection on the mini is not reconnected automatically. I have to connect the keyboard etc to initiate the reconnect. On a reboot it reconnects as expected.
Now the question: how can I set the wireless to automatically reconnect if the wireless drops so the I don't have to do it manually?

That is true or via Remote Desktop which I'm currently using to access and remotely administer the box.... but that said I still need a constant connection to be able to do this.
Also what happens if the router reboots by itself or the wireless becomes unstable (which has happened in the past) or more importantly the wife / kids turn the power off on the router accidently (it also has happened in the past)... My iPhone and iPad automatically search for, and reconnect to wireless so I'm unsure why my Mac Mini and Macbook Pro are not able to do the same.

  • Wireless keyboard "not discoverable" after 10.9.4 upgrade?

Since I upgraded to OS 10.9.4, my wireless Apple keyboard is "not discoverable" when the iMac wakes from sleep mode. I need to restart and re-pair each time by holding down the power button on re-start. Is there an upgrade for the keyboard to make it work with the new upgrade (the mouse is working thus far)? What's the point of these upgrades? One step forward, two steps back: FRUSTRATING!!!

You may need a wired keyboard to carry out some of these steps. It's a good idea to keep a cheap wired keyboard and mouse or trackball as backups for a desktop Mac anyway, because Bluetooth isn't completely reliable.
    Step 1
If the keyboard is already paired with another device, remove that pairing.
    Step 2
Follow the instructions in these support articles:
How to set up your Apple Wireless Keyboard
Apple Wireless Keyboard: Difficulty during pairing process
    Bluetooth devices become unresponsive
    Step 3
The keyboard should pair automatically when you restart the computer. You may have to press and hold the power button on the right side of an Apple keyboard until the LED starts flashing.
    Step 4
    Reset the System Management Controller.
    Step 5
    Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
              Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Restart.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combinationcommand-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Step 6
    See these support articles:
Bluetooth keyboard may not pair during Setup Assistant
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth: Potential sources of wireless interference
Bluetooth: Unreliable wireless performance may occur when USB 3.0 external devices are close
    Step 7
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider.

  • After Yosemite update canon mx860 does not work wirelessly

    Yosemite version10.10.1
    MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2009)
    Canon driver  11.7.1.0
Since downloading yosemite I can not print wirelessly.  I have the latest software from apple and canon.  I have followed all the advice from both sites.
I have deleted and reset the printer.  I have turned off both my printer and my router and turned them back on.
I have downloaded the most recent software.  I am still only able to print on the usb.
On the printer the WLAN setting list says that the connection is active and it is connected to the correct  SSID.  The WLAN setting also says that it is in communication mode.
What ideas do you have for me to try next?
    Thank you very much,
    Willie

I ran across your question while having a very similar problem. I was able to finally fix mine by unplugging both my modem and router. I see that you've already done that. When I was reading through other questions, I saw that a few people had fixed the problem by setting a static IP for the printer through the router. I barely know what I'm talking about here. Just thought it may be of use. The discussion was here: Support Code:300 The printer does not respond. About the 4th page of responses. Best of luck to you!

  • Wireless router not working after Windows update

I have a WRT54G V.5 wireless router. Windows Vista Home Premium did an auto update. Now wired connection works, wireless does not. Asks for key, but when entered nothing happens. Diagnosis states action was canceled. I have disabled and enabled, does not fix. Any help will be appreciated!

Take not of the Wireless Settings(SSID and WEP/WPA Key) on your Router...
To know the Wireless Settings follow this link
Once you know the Wireless Settings attempt to connect to your Wireless Network...
    XP :
Click on Start and goto the Control Panel and double click on Network Connections, right click on Wireless Network Connection and click on Properties.
Now on this window, click on the second tab Wireless Network and give a check mark on "Use windows to configure my wireless" and then remove all the network names present in the Preferred Networks Window. Then click on OK...
Right click on the Wireless Network Connection again and click on View Available Wireless Networks and try to re-connect to your network...
Now it will give you the opportunity to put the network/wep key, make sure you enter the correct network key and confirm it...
    It will connect...
    Vista :
Click Start >> Control Panel >> Network and Sharing Center >> Manage Wireless Networks, here remove all the networks present and close the Window...
Click on Connect to a Network and try to re-connect to your Network, it should ask for your Network Key/Password, enter the correct password/network key and click Connect...
It should connect...Once you are connected you should restart the computer, it should connect to Internet...
