Wireless connection MacBook Air to HP4500

I have a MacBook Air running Mavricks and an HP Officejet 4500 G510n-z.  All worked well together.  We changed our COMCAST wireless home router.  We can no longer wirelessly connect to the HP4500.  A USB connetion still worked to the HP.  All other home wireless connections work fine.  We did change the router name, etc within the Mac.
I've uninstalled the HP driver and can not reinstall it, so now even the USB connection does not work.

Hi garymkunz,
I understand you have an Officejet 4500 that is no longer working wireless or USB with your Mac running 10.9. I'm sorry to hear this has been happening, but I will do my best to assist you.
It sounds like maybe the printer needs to have the wireless reset and then try to connect again. To reset the wireless you should be able to press Setup, go to Wireless Menu (using the left/right arrows on either side of the OK), press OK and then look for Reset Wireless (may say Restore Network Defaults). Once that is done, please go back into the Wireless Menu and select the Wireless Setup Wizard and see if you can connect it to your network again.
If the printer connects successfully, you should then be able to install the printer on your 10.9 system via the Apple Updates.
Hope this helps, have a great day!!

MDP to HDMI adapter causing issues while connecting Macbook air late 2013 edition to Projector. Projector shows grains on the display.

Sounds like you may have been in extended display mode. If so, all you had to do was drag a window to the projector display. Or, if you wanted mirrored mode, in display preferences select check mirror display.

What is the best way to connect macbook air to present power point presentations

Since you posted in the Thunderbolt Display Community, I am guessing you are attempting to connect a MacBook Air to a Thunderbolt Display, but since you tagged projector, it makes me doubt my assumption. Can you provide some more details on what you are trying to connecto your MacBook Air to?

  • Just purchased USB SuperDrive to connect MacBook air can't eject start up disc

just purchased USB SuperDrive to connect MacBook air can't eject start up disc? please advise

No, of course not. The "startup disk" is the disk with your boot volume (operating system) on it. Once you boot (startup) from it it is locked as your computer will not "run" without a valid "startup disk".
It would be similar to complaining that "I can't remove the engine from a running vehicle".

Tried my k3772-z modem to connect macbook air to internet and got the message: you can't use this application with this version of mac os x. Is there a setting that needs to be changed?

I can't help you with a direct answer.  For third-party devices you should contact the vendor (Vodafone).
If you have an iPhone (or an Android phone with hot-spot capability) you can use that to connect to the Internet without paying for a separate cellular service.

  • Connecting macbook air with bose wireless sound link?

Can someone tell me how to connect a previously paired macbook air to a bose wireless soundlink?  I can pair them, but they will not connect.

I had the same issue with my macbook air intel i5, latest os, and this is the way it worked for me:
1.- When you pair for the first time your macbook and your bose soundlink, your soundlink will appear in your Bluetooth menu at the left side list, but it is not conected yet... just recognized... so your soundlink doesnt make the tipical pairing sound...
2.- So the next step is to Set your Soundlink as Audio Device, in the same Bluetooth menu (below the devices list) just select the Soundlink so it becomes blue and then click on the mesh or gear icon and you,ll get a submenu, then just select Set as Audio Device, and done!
Please note that even at the time you do that your soundlink is not going to do the pairing sound, you need to start playing music or movies or games to get actually paired, and for some reason if you stop playing it for a few minutes it gets unpaired again and only start again if you play again music, movies or games... kind of anoying because then you will hear the pairing noise very often...
    I hope this help somebody.

  • Connecting MacBook Air to LAN cable?

    Hi
Currently sitting in Singapore in a serviced apt that does not allow me to connect wirelessly to the internet. I have to connect a LAN cable to a laptop... How do I connect one to a MacBook Air?
    TIA

    Hi,
Just head over to Wheelock Place on Orchard Road at the Apple Center (2nd Floor, I think) and ask for the USB to Ethernet adapter.
That should let you plug in your Air to your LAN cable.
The other thing you can do is get an Airport Express (from the same place). Just plug your LAN cable into it, configure it, and you've got wireless - easy!
    Hope that helps.

  • Printing wirelessly on Macbook Air running Lion

Hi I have run out of things to try. My HP printer is connected to my Time Capsule. My IMAC prints wirelessly to it. My Macbook Air does not. It is on the network, everything else works perfectly but it just doesn't see that printer. If I connect directly it is fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Well, you haven't given us lots of detail - but only because there aren't that many details anyways, right?
Did you install from the original media? (It never would have occurred to me to just drag apps off one machine and drop them on another, but people do this sometimes.)
Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall? (That's what I'd do first if a fresh install of a program was borked from the very beginning.)
Have you tried it as a new user? (If it works in a new user account, then the problem is with your user account, not with your install of ID.)
There are other things to try - search the forums for removing the SING datastore, or resetting preferences - but really the uninstall/reinstall should make it work right off the bat, and it also should take less time than actually diagnosing the problem & fixing it.

  • How to connect Macbook Air to OLD tv (w/o HDMI)?

    Hi,
    I have a macbook air 11"  LATE 2010.
I want to connect my Macbook Air to OLD TV, via VGA cable.
It's its old tv, but it has a big screen, anyways, it does NOT have HDMI.
I can't find the right cables I need. I tried amazon, but it gave me the wrong cable, that did not fit.
So  can you tell me excatly what cables I need to connect my macbook to my tv, please?
    Thank you so much!

Ok so i looked at my TV, turns out that you were right, and it does NOT have a VGA. But it has S-Video.
I can't seem to find the model number but, I found a picture of it on the internet. It's a 10 year old HDTV  47" Panosonic TV.

So this means that I need to get a VGA to S-video connector right?
Do you know what I need for sound?

  • How to connect Macbook air to tv via airplay ?

How do I connect my Macbook Air to tv via Apple TV and airplay ?

    Hello wayneharlow
You should see an AirPlay button in the Menu Bar in the upper right hand corner near the Date and Time. If you do not see it, then you may need to turn it on to show up there, then it is a matter of selecting the Apple TV from that drop down menu. Check out the article below for more information and troubleshooting if needed.

  • Cannot connect Macbook Air to Samsung TV via HDMI

Hello, I have been completely unable to get my Macbook Air (13-inch, Mid 2011, running OS X 10.9.1) to connect to my new Samsung TV (UN32EH5000F)  I feel like I have tried everything I can think of, have spent hours now looking for a solution online.  I also consulted Samsung tech support, who were not helpful in that they insisted the problem is with my Macbook (because the HDMI port on the TV works when I hook up my DVD player).
I'm trying to connect my Macbook Air to the TV using a Mini DisplayPort (Thunderbolt Compatible) to HDMI cable.  I have gotten the connection to work on my LG monitor (via the same HDMI cable), but this did require some switching back and forth between sources before it would appear as an external monitor on my Mac and doesn’t seem to work reliably.  Sometimes I can get the LG monitor to work as an external display over HDMI and sometimes I can’t.
I have also gotten the TV to work ONCE on my Macbook Pro (15-inch, Late 2008, running 10.9) by plugging the cable into the Mini DisplayPort while the computer was asleep.  I have not been able to replicate this in many tries since that first time.
When I insert either end of the cable (either into the TV or the Macbook Air), the screen flashes as if recognizing that the cable is plugged in, but the TV always says "No Signal."
    I have also tried:
Every possible combination of plugging in cables
Shutting down my Mac and the TV and rebooting
Switching the source on my TV back and forth
Plugging the HDMI cable into both ports on the TV
Changing the name of the HDMI source on my TV (to available options like "PC", "DVI", "DVI PC", etc.)
    Battery power and AC adaptor
Resetting the PRAM and the SMC
Using the Option button in Display preferences to click “Detect Displays”
    Any help would be appreciated!
