Wireless Desktop not detecting E2000

I recently upgraded from an old WRT54G2 router to a E2000, and while it's solved a few problems, it's also caused a few. My wireless desktop will not pick up the E2000. It picks up signals around it so I know the wireless card is working, and our new laptop also picks up the network without a problem. When I try to connect to a network, our SSID just will not show up on the desktop as it does on the laptop. Does anyone know why? It worked amazingly until I upgraded the router.

Try changing the SSID on your E2000 router, dont use the default. Also try using different channels on your router and see which channel suits your network environment - a chnnel that your desktop detects. how far is this computer from the router, btw?

I recently purchased a WRT54G router and tried to connect through my DSL connection. An error message came up and stated that the router was not detected. Repeated tries gave the same results.
I know that the cables were connected correctly. Can someone suggest trouble shooting?Calls to Linksys support have been unsuccessful.

Try disabling all firewalls on the computer, windows and any other you might be using. Still no luck try doing manual setup, as follows:
Connect modem to internet port on router, and connect computer to port 1 on router
Login to routers setup, by typing http://192.168.1.1 in internet explorer's address bar, use admin as password there without any user name
Here goto mac address clone in blue bar at top
Enable service, click on clone my pc's mac button, and save the settings
After that turn off modem and router, turn on modem first.
Turn on router after some time
    Check internet if works

  • Mavericks Issues: Comodo Free-Antivirus Crashing/Freezing the Whole System and Intuos4 Wireless Bluetooth Not Detecting

Hi. Has anyone successfully run Comodo free-anti-virus for the Mac? It crashes, freezes the whole Mavericks that I need to shut the iMac (late 2009) down using the 5 second power button turn off. It would boot and show the desktop and Dock then the beachball just keeps spining and you can't click the Dock nor the icons on the desktop or use the menu.
Also, the bluetooth Wacom4 Wireless used to work fine on Mountain Lion, now Mavericks can't detect it the Intuos4 is in wireless mode (it works fins when the cable's plugged in). Has anyone successfully run the Intuos4 Wireless with Mavericks?
Thank you in advance. Have a great upcoming sunday mass/great upcoming weekend.
    God bless.

Just get rid of Comodo. It didn't do very well when I tested it back in January:
    http://www.thesafemac.com/mac-anti-virus-testing-01-2013/
As for the Wacom issue, you should probably contact the company to see if they have updated drivers. They're probably not fully compatible with Mavericks, for some reason.

  • X201 Wireless Card not detectable (Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 AGN) (Windows 7 64 bit)

    Hey!
I have a slight problem here.
We have 5 machines that got shipped with Windows 7 32 bit versions for two weeks ago, I tested all of them to make sure nothing was defect or such things but everything was fine (The wireless network card was clearly visible in device manager).
For two days ago, we recived recovery discs to upgrade these machines to 64 bit versions.
After installing it on 2 computers that was previously 32 bit versions, I am not able to detect the wireless network card anymore.
I have used System Update to try and find it but to no avail.
The card itself is not even detected by Device Manager (No unkown device or anything either, it have simply dissapeared).
I do know the card is present there so I downloaded two different drivers (1 from Lenovo homepage and another one from a driver update tool) (13.1.1.1 and 13.2.0.30).
I made a manual search and installed the drivers and the card itself by using "Add Legacy hardware" in device manager and picked the card.
It is now detectable in Device Manager but with following error code:
"The device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device (Code 31).
I have tested both versions but same error code persists, System Update won't help either since it says that there are no new updates for this machine (same thing with Windows Update).
The card was functioning properly in 32 bit version but decided to crap out when upgrading to 64 bit, have there been frequent problems regarding wireless networking with 64 bit?

We have the same problem with 6 new X201 machines preloaded with Win 7 32bit
After reloading the X201 with the Win 7 64bit recovery media the wireless network card disappears.
You learn to disassemble the laptop quickly to get to the CMOS battery because thats the olution I found
Disconnect the CMOS battery to reset BIOS settings completely and the network card appears in windows again.
Even when we tried the same recovery media on a T500 to test it, the same happened. The CMOS battery solution got the WLAN card working again.
I have reported this to Lenovo but havent heard from them yet.

  • Wireless suddenly not detecting networks

    Hello,
My iMac G5 has suddenly stopped detecting wireless networks (or does so very sporadically). I have an intel iMac beside it which continues to detect all of the usual networks without a problem, so I'm not sure what this is indicative of. The network of interest is hidden so I tried connecting manually, but this only yields an error when I try it.
It started this morning when I woke the computer from sleep and it didn't regain its connection automatically as it normally does. I tried several things without success and finally restarted the computer whereupon the wireless signed on as usual (I only used it for a few minutes before leaving though). After coming home later in the day, the same thing happened, only this time a restart did nothing to solve the problem. I ran some maintenance tasks and relaunched the finder. In the airport menu, I saw a few networks for an instant and then they disappeared. Attempts at signing on to my hidden network give me an error again. For whatever reason it let me sign on all of a sudden and I got a few minutes use before the connection disappeared entirely again. My girlfriend was happily using the network on my other iMac this entire time so I know it wasn't the network.
The airport card is detected by the computer, so does this mean there's something wrong with my antenna?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It could be the antenna but that rarely fails.
If your iMac G5 has the removableAirPort Extreme card, you could check the antenna wire connection to the card using the photos in KB 108039, Properly attaching the antenna on an AirPort Extreme Card.
If that is OK, I would suspect that the RF section of the AirPort card in your iMac G5 is failiing.

  • IPhone 4s with iOS 8.1: Wireless networks not detected

My iPhone has ceased to detect any wireless networks. When I am trying to turn WLan off and on again, the settings app is extremely slow or hangs or the phone crashes and reboots.
I have reset the network settings several times with no improvement. I have mad a soft reset with no improvement. Does anyone have any ideas how this might be solved?
    Thank you!

I had to do a complete reset of my iPhone 4s for another reason (the new iTunes could not access my Phone...). Afterwards wifi networks could be detected more often, even connection was possible sometimes. However this connection still is very unstable and frequently interrupted when used.
Just now, the iPhone rebootet while I was making a call... These wifi problems are just the top of an iceberg of problems I am having since I've installed iOS 8
I sincerely hope the announced 8.1.1 solves them (but I don't really believe my iPhone will ever be what it used to be). I doubt an iPhone is the right purchase for my next phone. There are other manufacturers out there who dont' force their customers to use a malfunctioning release of their operating system. I am talking about signing: It isn't even possible to downgrade and install a working os.
Apple, I loved you so much because you had beautiful products that work seamlessly. With iOS 8 you broke my heart. My iPhone is now a beautiful and useless brick of electronic garbage. From this day forward, I shall regard you as just another hardware manufacturer selling your products at unreasonable prices. Good luck with that. The question if you are able to uphold quality, innovation and design of your products without Steve Jobs has now certainly been answered.

  • HPE-475a wireless card not detecting networks

For the last few months, every now and again, my computer would start up but be unable to detect any wireless networks. It seemed that simply shutting it back down for an hour or so would magically resolve it. Some research at the time suggested that it was unable to detect a driver for some reason.
However, today, several hours of the computer being off has not resolved the issue, and the device manager suggests that the card is working fine, without any driver troubles. Perhaps I am looking at the wrong thing.
I have been able to connect using an old wireless dongle, but I don't want that to be the permanent solution.
What can I do to better diagnose and resolve the issue? I've searched a bit but couldn't find anything which seemed specific to this situation.
    Product name: HPE-475a
    Product number: BU082AA#ABG
Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1
    Error messages: None.
    Recent changes: None.
Troubleshooting performed: Attempted to "Diagnose" through Network Connections. It suggested to check the router. The router is fine, multiple other devices are able to connect. Diagnostics then says it cannot resolve the connectivity issue.
    Thanks in advance!
    - Phil.

    Hi,
If WIFI was working fine using the current router then the mixed mode setting is not the problem.
If Device Manager shows no errors and you cannot connect using wireless then the WIFI adapter card is, most likely, the problem.
Good to hear you have an extended warranty.

  • Yoga 2 Pro - Wireless Card not Detected by Windows 8.1

Hi, Just got a refurbished Yoga 2 Pro. The first time I started the system up, the wireless showed up and I connected to my local WLAN. However, few minutes later the wireless dropped out. The issue was that Windows stopped detecting the card. Not showing in the device manager. Strange enough the bluetoth was working fine. The card is an Intel 7260NGW. I thought it was the card, so I replaced it with a new Intel AC7260NGW. The same result. I've removed & reinstalled all drivers including the ones from the Intel website. I've formatted and installed a fresh version of windows 8.1 and reinstalled all drivers again. Not to avail. Now running with an USB wireless adapter.  Any clue what's going on? Thanks in advance guys Daniel

OMG, I was just about to buy a new wireless card because I have the same problem.
Some weeks ago my wireless adapter disappeared, the card disappeared altogether even from Device manager, after I installed a new bluetooth driver and after I was connecting to my phone 3G via USB cable.
But then it came back after I left the laptop shut down and unplugged for a whole night. It worked for a few hours and after closing the lid and opening it again wireless adapter was gone again, never to come back.
I tried changing drivers, holding the power button for 20 sec to hard reset the laptop, fresh install of Windows, load BIOS defaults, and even installing Windows 10 in VHD (dual boot) and see if it will reappear there.Always the same - the wireless adapter doesn't exist any more.
However, buetooth has been working without problems, which I find strange.
I read online about similar situations, and all answers point that the wireless card stopped working and needs to be replaced.
But @Papelinas - you say you even bought and installed a new wireless card and STILL have the same problem???I can't believe that something in motherboard got damaged and that only wifi doesn't work...
I've had my Y2P for 6 months, and I don't really have time to send the laptop for repair for some time, I'm using it...
I guess I'll still try to buy a new card, and just hope the wireless adapter will reappear...

  • Wireless adapter not detected on T520 4240-4au

I just purchased a Thinkpad t520 and have installed Win 7 Enterprise on it.
    - Ive tried reinstalling the drivers
    - Ive turned wireless switch on the side on and off and tried fn-f5
    - In the device manager I see a Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6205 and the newest drivers are installed. Ive disabled it and enabled it.
    - In the BIOS Config->Network-> I only have two options 1) Wake on LAN and 2)Ethernet LAN Option ROM
    - When I run the Intel PROset/Wireless tools and run the diagnostic tool, the hardware, radio, scan, assoication, authentication, signal, ping tests all fail. The only test that is successful is the driver test.
Is there anything else that im not doing where I can enable the adapter? Is it possible I got a faulty adapter from the factory? I do have bitlocker turned on which is a company policy, but I cant see that being the issue. I never tried to use wireless on this laptop until today. Thanks for any help.

    That's weird ...
    - hardware switch on
    - FN + F5 on for WLAN
    - BIOS I/O ports WLAN on
    - Device manager showing WLAN adapter.
All of this should enable WLAN to work. hmmm ... Have you tried using Access Connections? Any error showing there?
Try uninstalling Hotkeys, Lenovo Power Manager and Power Management driver ... then reboot then install all 3 again then enable it using Fn+ F5 keys and see if it helps.
If problem still persist, try doing a R&R to the default factory OS and see if is really a hardware issue. If in factory OS and still fails then you might want to contact support for a hardware check.
Alternatively, you can try using zoltan's suggestion to boot OS using Ubuntu disc and see if the OS is casing the problem.
see Zoltan's post on UBuntu below.

  • N100 wireless device not detected in XP reinstall

My N100 originally came with Vista and was downgraded to XP.  I recently had to reinstall Windows XP and the 802.11 abg wireless device is not being recognized by Windows XP.  Is there a device driver that needs to be downloaded?  I've looked at the downloads, but I'm not sure I found anything that would relate to my problem.  Thanks for your help.

  • T500 - Internet Wireless Adapter Not Detected

I am at a loss right now since I have never encountered a problem with a computer that I couldn't solve at all. On my T500 (2081CTO), I had an XP OS and everything was working fine (almost). I decided to install the original Vista that came with it and at the same time updated the BIOS to the latest version, I think 3.18, before I installed Visa Home Basic. After the install, there is no wireless adapter deteced. I can't get any internet without a cable. Here is everything I have tried already:
    Install all Vista OS updates
    Run Lenovo System Update
Install standalone Wireless drivers from Lenovo directly
    Resintall the drivers
Physically remove, clean, and re-insert the wireless adapter
Check settings in BIOS to make sure all wireless devices are enabled
Disable and then re-enable wireless LAN/WiMax in BIOS
    Clear CMOS
I don't know what else to do, besides some costly and time consuming options, like reinstalling XP instead, getting a new adapter, or paying someone to fix my own computer.
    Here are some additional clues:
Under device manager, only Intel 82567LM Gigabit Network Controller is listed under "Network Adapters"
There is "Other devices" under which there is "Network Controller" with an excalamation mark. I have been unable to install the dirvers for it
Finally, I do not have Lenovo recovery disks and had to install Vista from a downloaded version online. At the end of the install is asked me to install drivers, which I thought sounded weird, and chose not to. If I have to pay $30 to get a replacment disk for something I already own, I'd rather buy Windows 7.
So this is my dilemma and I am not sure exactly where my problem is. I would appreciate any help or insight.

You probably just need to download & install the drivers for the WiFi card... (You probably also need the drivers for some other devices as well, such as AMT and Card Reader, IIRC) You can get them on the Lenovo Driver download page, http://support.lenovo.com - (Drivers & Downloads) just put your MT/M number (from a label on the bottom of the laptop) in the "QuickPath" Product selector... (If you can't find the MT/M just put T500 in.) Then look for Wireless LAN drivers... If you haven't already done so, I'd suggest getting a copy of the Windows 7 Pro Recovery discs for the laptop and THEN install the afore mentioned drivers... Feel free to send me an e-mail if you have further questions about this... Just remove the spaces, change ATsymbol to @  and change DOTsymbol to . mkingsmill ATsymbol gmail DOTsymbol com I will do my best to reply on the forum for all to see (thus helping others who may also be researching solutions to this issue)

  • [SOLVED] Wireless card not detected after upgrade

After running a pacman update today, my wireless card is no longer being detected.  'ip link' and 'iw dev' show no sign of it.  My ethernet port is detected just fine.
I downgraded linux and systemd with no luck, thinking that they were the most likely culprits.  Also, I dealt with the new /etc/passwd.pacnew and /etc/group.pacnew files created by the filesystem upgrade and ran the syslinux-install_update script to go along with the new version of syslinux.  Besides a new mirrorlist, these were the only special cases pacman warned about when upgrading.
Here are the packages that were upgraded.  I apologize for the long list but I'm finding myself out of options after several hours of struggling with this.  Maybe somebody will see something I'm missing.

I'll ask the standard issue questions.  Did you perform a partial upgrade?  If so, perform a pacman -Syu and try again.
Also, is the running kernel the same kernel that is installed?   Compare the versions provided by uname -a and pacman -Qi linux and ensure they are exactly they are exactly the same revision.

  • Lenovo G505s Wireless Card not detected no driver

I have a new lenovo g505s that came with windows 8. I removed all windows 8 partitions and installed windows 7. The install went great but I have no drivers. Installing the recomended LAN driver worked just fine and the ethernet is working great, but installing the lenovo recomended WLAN driver failed. (wlan118w7.exe)
There is no networks showing up when I try to connect to a one.
I have no wlan device in device manager, and an unknown 'Network Controller' showing up with yellow exclaimation point.
The qualcomn driver that is distributed by Lenovo fails to install sometimes, stopping on a 'No Appropriate driver to be installed' error, and exiting.

    hi kr094,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
    You can try this
Download this file and extract it to a folder.
Now Open Device Manager rightclick on that network controller and choose update driver.
when a Window pop up choose Browse my computer for driver software
    You should have this window
Click on the Browse  box and direct it to where you extract the File i asked you to download,
continue with that and it should work,
    Let me know your findings
