Wireless direct configuration source manual

I have a Photosmart 5520 printer and we changed router and Ithe P address schem.  On the first page of the Network configuration page the IP address is correct at10.0.1.10 (DHCP).  On the second page under "Wireless Direct" the IP address is 192.168.223.1 and the configuration source is set to Manual.  How do I change the IP address for the Wireless Direct IP address so iPrint works again?

The network configuration report can be confusing as it lists information for two different networks in the printer.
The first network is the one that connects to your home network.  On your report it is connected with an IP address of 10.0.1.10.  I would expect most of your home devices to print over your home network to that IP address.
The second network is the HP Direct Print network.  It allows devices to directly connect to the printer to print.  It's IP address shows as 192.168.223.1  If you connect a device directly to the printer it will see the printer at that IP address.
Most of your comuting devices will connect to your home network and print through it.  There should be no reason to change the HP Direct Print IP address.  I'm not sure it can be changed.
Now to resolve the printing problem.  iPrint might need to rediscover the printer.  You may need to treat the printer as a new device and delete the old connection.  Hopefully this will solve the issue.
If not - I'm guessing that there is a routing issue with the new router.  The best way to resolve that would be to power off all the computing devices, power cycle the new router, turn on the printer and wait for the blue wireless light to turn on and stay lit, then power up all the other wireless devices.
The idea is to let each device relearn the network as it comes up.  If there is still a problem after doing this there might be a configuration issue on the router that is not letting the network devices see the printer.
If neither of the above help there might be an problem with the configuration of the new router.  It's configuration  might not allow the wireless devices to see the printer.  Let us know and we will work through that.  To troubleshoot a router configuration we will need the brand and model of the router.
Good Luck!

  • Using Wireless Direct on HP 8610

I am installing an HP8610 for a senior in a senior citizen's home and have an issue.
The Senior's home does not offer wired internet, only free wifi.  This couple have their three devices (iMac, iPad and MacBook Pro) on the free wifi.   All come up with different subnets  10.225.xxx.xxx, 10.216.xxx.xxx etc.
When I installed the HP8610 I got put on another subnet 10.223.xxx.xxx  and the computers cannot see the 10.223.xxx.xxx because of the way the routers in the building are configured.
I thought I just could enable wireless direct printing without a password since the HP8610 should show up at 10.223.xxx.xxx and at 192.168.223.1 (for this printer).  If I set the computer's wireless to search the HP wireless direct, it sees it and can print to the printer.  However, you have no internet at that point because you have disconnected the free building wifi.
What options do I have to leave these computers on building wifi and still have access to the wireless direct on the printer?  Is there an Apple App which will port the printing?  Or do I have to figure out a router within their apartment which will put the printer and all the devices on the same subnet?

    Hi @captainlaser
When you install the HP8610 on the other subnet, 10.223.xxx.xxx, are you able to enable the Web Services? If the printer is on a network that provides it with internet access, but the devices can not see it, you can use ePrint to print. I know this might not be the most convenient approach but it may be a suitable workaround.
HP ePrint is a free service that allows you to print documents and photos from any mobile or network-connected device (such as a phone, laptop, tablet, or other mobile device) to your HP ePrint-enabled printer. Each HP ePrint-enabled printer has its own unique email address. After you enable HP ePrint on your HP ePrint-enabled printer, you can print from your mobile or network-connected device by sending an email to your HP printer's email address. With HP ePrint, you can print from anywhere, at any time. If you can send an email, you can use HP ePrint.
Important: To use ePrint, your HP product must be connected to a wired (Ethernet) or wireless network with an active Internet connection. You do not need to install any applications or drivers on your mobile device.

  • Linksys Wireless Network monitor overrides Windows XP Wireless Zero Configuration

    Hello all,
I am currently using the wireless router Verizon sent me and it works fine when using the Windows XP Wireless Zero Configuration tool. Previously I was using a Linksys wireless router and I have the Linksys Wireless Network monitor installed. About half the time when starting up the computer, the Linksys monitor starts up and I have to manually switch to the Windows XP Wireless Zero Configuration tool. This is very irritating and I would like to know if there is a way I can remove the Linksys Monitor and still be able to use the Linksys wireless adapter cards installed in the computer.

    I think I know.
    #1 http://netsquirrel.com/msconfig/msconfig_xp.html
#2 Very carefully, look through the list in MSConfig.
#3 Disable the Linksys Wireless Network monitor.
Restart the computer as need be.

  • Printer wireless direct internet windows

just to verify:  On my PC running WIN 7,      I can not BOTH
print via wireless direct (WD) on my 3510
            AND
access the internet on my wireless home network (WHN)
    unless I:
(using WIN 7) switch between the WD network and the WHN network
       or
manually disable WD on the 3510        ?
This is inherent in the WIN7/WD implementation?  Yes/no?
    This question was solved.

    Hi,
Indeed by connecting to the Wireless Direct network you will not have internet access, that is an expected behavior:
Wireless connection issues > How do I print wirelessly without a wireless router? > Downsides to peer-to-peer networking:
Your computer can only connect to one wireless network at a time. When it is connected to your printer, it cannot also connect to a wireless router (for Internet access, for example).
    http://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/wireless-printing-center/faq.html
To gather full network functionality you will need a router to connect both the printer and the internet.

  • BB Z30 stuck at acquiring IP when connecting to wireless direct HP 3545

Badly need help...<br><br>Device: BlackBerry Z30STA100-2/10.2.1.3247<br><br>Problem: cannot connect wireless to HP deskjet 3545 all-in-one printer<br><br>Good day! I recently bought a HP deskjet ink advantage 3545 all-in-one wireless printer yesterday. Setup-ed the printer, turned on wireless direct, and searched it through my BlackBerry Z30. The printer was found. Upon connecting, it always gets stuck at &quot;acquiring IP&quot; and NEVER gets connected. Turned on/off printer, restarted device and went through the process over and over again but still it gets stuck at acquiring IP.<br><br>The printer was detected but I'm confused why it doesn't connect. Tried using my iPhone 4s and it connects instantly. Tried manually entering IP address of the printer but it asks for primary DNS, secondary DNS, and default gateway. Checked my iPhone and those are empty. Only IP address and subnet mask have entries.<br><br>I really hope that there's a solution for this other than using my iPhone. I would really like to use my BlackBerry Z30 to print wireless hence the reason I bought this printer. Would be glad for any help or any workaround for this.<br><br>Thank you in advance!

    Hello JERENDS,
First of all thank you for your reply. I figured it out! On my wifi settings, I changed band type from dual to 2.4GHz and it connected to the printer successfully. Next, I downloaded printhand app from BlackBerry World and manually entered the IP address of the wifi printer. From there, a list of drivers for a specific model came out and I selected my specific model and viola! The wifi direct is now working flawlessly!
I also did set up ePrint and now I can print both wireless and ePrint! I hope this will help fellow BlackBerry 10 owners so that they could also use their device to print on a HP wireless printer.
    Cheers!

  • Scanning from 5520 to iPad in wireless direct mode ?

I have a Photosmart 5520 printer and a 3G  iPad - without any other computer equipment or WiFi network or
router in the house. The printing from the iPad to the 5520 in the Wireless direct mode works well.
My question is if I can scan from the 5520 to the iPad ? Have looked in the HP ePrint app for directions
or control buttons but can't find any. Is scanning from 5520 to iPad possible ?  Selecting  "scan to computer"
on the 5520 control panel does not work.
    Looking for any helpful comments
    Thanks

    Hello Johan,
The HP ePrint app is a different app than the one I have mentioned above.
The HP Printer Control mobile app is a different one which also allow scanning.
simply open the Apple App Store, search for HP Printer Control and install it.
Through that app you will also be able to scan.

  • Laserjet 200 will print via wireless direct but intermittently (once) via wireless network

Tried various troubleshooters on Hp and Apple websites to get this working consistently.
Installed new drivers for OSX Yosemite 10.10 - thought all would work fine as went through installing, printing test page etc.  Then printer becomes unavailable - although it is on the list of printers.
Same thing has happened variuos times after re-installing it.
Will print directly via USB and wireless direct - but I want to print via the wireless network.
tried all the usual things - making sure on the right wireless network, restarting everything etc.
Using an airport router - are there some settings on this that may be causing an issue - odd though as will print once when initially connected to the wireless network.
    Any ideas?

    Hi @iphonebore,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that your HP Laserjet 200 M267NW will not stay connected to your wireless network running Mac OS X 10.10. I am sorry to hear this, but happy to help!
    Please see the following guides:

  • HP Wireless Direct Print

im using my new hp laserjet pro 300 with Wireless Direct Print. i can use the wireless direct print feature great with my iphoe as well as my android phone. advertisements suggested that i would also be able to print from my wireless laptop using the HP Wireless Direct Print feature. was i mistaken?

Install the HP eprint Mobile Driver
    Download the driver from www.hp.com/go/eprintmobiledriver.
Launch the installer and follow the instructions in the install wizard.
Register the HP ePrint Mobile Print Driver
Registering the driver to the Windows or Mac computer is required for the HP ePrint Mobile Driver to send print jobs from your print client, into your ePrintCenter.com account, to an HP ePrint enabled product registered to ePrintCenter.com. For direct IP printing from a Windows client over the local area network to a supported PostScript device, ePrintCenter.com registration is not required and is therefore optional if web-based printing is not required.
    ePrint Credential Setup
This default option presented during installation guides you through enabling the HP ePrint Mobile Driver for web-based printing. When presented with the HP ePrint Registration option within the HP ePrint Mobile Driver, you are asked to enter an email address and Personal Identification Number (PIN). If you skip this step during driver installation, you can access the registration option again from the user interface of the installed driver.
    Email
The HP ePrint Mobile Driver registration process asks you for an email address. This email
address is used by ePrintCenter.com to send a system-generated Personal Identification Number required to register the HP ePrint Mobile Driver to your Mac or Window client. The email address you provide can be the same email address used to create your ePrintCenter account, or any other email
address that you have access to read received emails.
    PIN
The registration process sends a Personal Identification Number (PIN) from [email protected] to the email address entered into the HP ePrint Mobile Driver registration screens. Supply the provided PIN to the HP ePrint Mobile Driver. Registration status is provided through the user interface (Success or Fail). Click OK from the Registration Successful acknowledgement screen. The credentials provided during registration are saved for this computer, which enable the print client to send print jobs from any installed application on the Mac or Windows system.
The system can now print to registered HP ePrint-enabled products.
Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks!

  • Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition; Wireless Direct Printing Issues

Good day everyone. The subject refers. I have been trying to connect my tablet to my hp printer (LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw) using wireless direct printing without success. What normally happens is when I try to detect the printer through wifi on the tablet, the error message I get from the tablet is "Network disabled because internet connection is slow". What can I do???

    Hello OgoOluwa,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
Regarding the troubles getting the Wireless Direct connection working with a Samsung Galaxy Note, does this error display only on the Wireless Direct network?
I have not been able to reproduce the error, but I have found something that addresses the error on another support site that might be worth a try.
Getting "Network disabled because internet connection is slow" during setup<--- Not a HP support site, nor is it related to a printer, but the error is the same and follows suite with a connection issue with a Samsung product.
Let me know if this suggestion is helpful.

  • How to Change Wi-Fi Channel Used by Wireless Direct on HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium?

I would like to change the Wi-Fi channel that is used by Wireless Direct between my Lenovo laptop and my HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium to reduce interference from other nearby users of Ch. 6 in my condo complex. (I am not using a wireless router setup to connect to the printer.)
Is this possible?  If so, how?

Ah... ok.  You are using the Wireless Direct with the printer.  You computer is wireless to channel 6.  That is all you can do unless you changed the router's wireless channel which will only automatically switch on your computer.

  • Unable to connect to Deskjet 3545 via Wireless Direct from Windows 8.1 laptop (Lenovo Thinkpad E530)

Hi, It's a newly bought printer. I am unable to connect to the printer via Wireless Direct from Windows 8.1 64bit laptop. I have enabled the Wireless Direct with security on the Printer. Connected to the Printer SSID from my laptop wifi. Created the new printer from Driver software. It discovers the printer with it's name,IP etc; Upon selecting the printer and click on 'Next' button on the screen, results in a 5 min search process and finally displays that it could not connect. I have tried pinging the printer and it's able to pingf the IP of the printer successfully. I have even tried disabling the Norton antivirus, but result is the same. regards, sathwik

  • Configured source directory does not exist

    Hi Guys,
I had configured a sender file adapter and when i check the CC monitoring it gives the message : Configured source directory '/usr/sap/NRD/SYS/global' does not exist. But the directory is in the AL11 of R/3 application server. Iam using the NFS in the File Adapter Communication channel.
Can anyone throw some light reagrding the error.
    Thanks,
    Kittu.

    Kittu,
    1. With NFS , XI server can acccess only folders available on its OWN local path. It cannot access the Path of your R3 machine. The XI server is looking for the path on its own directories and it is not finding the same.
One option is to mount your Drive on the XI server to some folder. Not something I
    would recommend thought.
    2. The better thing to do would be,
    a) place the file on the XI 's some folder ( you would need a local directory access to the server) or some program to upload the file to the server.
b ) Use FTP. Look into this blog by Shabrish for how to set up a FTP ion your Local Desktop and make XI access the same,

  • File Adapter to iSeries IFS "Configured source directory does not exist"

    Good day, All
    We are using PI 7.1
I need the PI file adapter to pull a file off of an iSeries(AS400) IFS folder directory.
I'm able to configure the file adapter to pull off files from the PI server C and D drives.
I'm able to configure the file adapter to pull off files from other network drives.
But the iSeries IFS folder keeps coming back "does not exist".
I've configured the Source Directory with / and with \ and it doesn't help.
I am able to navigate to the folder while logged into the PI server as the server admin.
I've tried mapping a drive on the server to the IFS folder but that doesn't work either.
    Please help!!!
I've wasted too much time trying different settings on this already.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Chad

    Dear Chad,
Please go through the following SDN link :
    - Configured source directory .... does not exist was suppressed
give the write permisson to the directory for everyone group and check if that helps.
Also, kindly go through the following links :
    1) http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/TroubleshootingtheFile+Adapter (point 2)
    2) Not able to read files from Windows directory to Unix Server using NFS
which might give some hints in solving your issue.
