Wireless Driver Not Installing

Hey guys,
i have a Dell 14R (n4110), i upgraded to win 8 and after a week my wireless driver just disappeared and couldnt reinstall. I downgraded to win 7pro and had the same prob. Then i reinstalled win 7 home premium (which originally came with my laptop) and i'm
still having the same prob, i tried all the drivers for my model on Dell's site. Please assist, thanks!.
Regards,
Jevon.

1.Reinstall driver from Dell support page
http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/Product/inspiron-14r-n4110
2. You may need to uninstall driver before installing new one. Follow the procedures here
http://www.thewindowsclub.com/uninstall-disable-roll-back-update-drivers-windows
3. Do not use optional drivers that comes with Windows Update
4. For troubleshooting see into Device manager and Event logs and share your findings

  • Hp Officejet Pro 8600 on Windows 8.1 driver not installed

Using Windows 8.1 and HP Officejet pro 8600.  The printer is installed on a wireless network.  But on Device Manager, it says "driver not installed".   Most printing tasks are successful, but for some I need to have the driver installed on the computer.  I have tried troubleshooting, but am unsuccessful.  I would appreciate help.  Thanks

    Hi emax,
Print a configuration page to get the printer's IP address. Printing a Network Configuration Page.
If you have a valid IP address for the printer then try and access the Embedded Web Server for the printer.
Type the IP address into your web browser's address bar. (Internet Explorer)
If it loads the printer's network page then the printer is on the network.
Power cycle the router, computer and printer.
    Try printing again.
If the issue persists, add a new device if the IP address is valid.
Right-click the Start button () or the lower left corner of the screen, and then click Search.
In the Search box, type HP, and then click the icon for your printer. The printer software opens.
Click Utilities, and then click Printer Setup & Software Selection.
    Click Connect a new printer.
Test the printer over the wireless network.
Please provide the following information so I can assist you better.
What is the printer's first 3 sets of numbers for the IPV4 address?
Could you access the printer's EWS?
Were you able to add a new device?
    Thank You.

  • How to deal with the "driver not installed" message?

My issue, and it seems many others here have it too, is how to install a printer driver in the face of the "driver not installed" message.
In my case, it's an HP4160 Rendevous printer. I've deleted the com.apple.print files in the Library, reinstalled the software, made sure that BDC package, or whatever it's called is installed, even downloaded and run the printer fix software from Fixamac.
    Nothing works.
I have the feeling this isn't a printer or driver-specific issue, but is an OS problem. Does anyone have a suggestion?

It appears the Deskjet 4160 will not work with an Airport. Connected via USB, the driver installs normally and the the printer appears to run just fine, although I haven't done much with it yet.
It simply will not work on a wireless network through an Airport. Frustrating, but workable by bringing the laptop to the printer.

  • TCP / IP Protocol Driver - not installed (using Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) Service Pack 1

I am using a ThinkPad T520 laptop.  Lenovo Solutions Center keeps referring me (with a yellow exclamation mark) to the Device Manager and alerting me to a "non-critical" error. The message is "TCP / IP Protocol Driver - not installed".
I have found numerous pieces of advice for Windows XP and Vista - but very little for Windows 7. I have however tried the Microsoft "Fix it" solution and it had no effect.
I am still able to connect to the internet via Ethernet cable and wifi. It is however worrying that the warning keeps being raised.
Does anyone know how I can fix it?

    Hi Tripplec.
Thanks for the reply. I am away from home at present without my ThinkPad, so will try it at the weekend. I am an experienced computer user but this is a brand new machine and I have never had a laptop that produced error messages without providing any suggested fixes. It seems that Lenovo is not suitable for ordinary home users, but only for computer engineers. Sadly that is not me... so before I plunge in, can I just check some details?
    1. You suggest removing the offending network adapters in device manager. Which are the offending adapters that cause a TCP/IP protocol driver error?  I am nervous of removing the wrong things and making it worse!
    2. You also suggest that I go to Network Connections via Control panel, properties of adapter, Install and select the desired Protocol(s) and install them.  Is that an alternative fix  to 1 above - or an essential follow-on after removing the offending adapters?  (Last week I searched the machine and the Lenovo support page of drivers - and never found a TCP/IP protocol driver. If you know where one can be found, I would prefer to instal a new driver, rather than delete other devices and hope that the machine reinstalls them later!).
    Much obliged for your assistance.

  • Problems adding USB printer - "Driver not installed" - but it is

Apparently, 10.3.9 has some problems with USB printers. For the record, I had already installed this earlier prior to the upgrade and everything worked fine - but due to crashing due to a faulty power supply - I've had to re-configure everything.
I, and many others in this forum, have found a strange problem when trying to add a printer (And yes, other people have asked about this but I haven't seen any answers at all that are useful. The only possible solution seems to be "upgrade to 10.4" and that is unacceptable. Does Apple check these forums?).
After clicking "add printer" in the utility, the software finds the correct printer (so obviously the physical connection to the printer is OK) and displays it with a question mark over it's icon and "driver not installed" next to it. I can't select this image or text.
After searching for a couple of minutes, a dialogue box pops up saying "New drivers detected. Do you want to reload the browser?" (I assume the printer setup utility is the "browser"?).
I click yes and nothing happens. No PPDs show up in the list. This happens when I select USB as well as Apple Talk from the printer-type pull-down menu.
How can I start printing again?

    iMac G5 17" Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    First, welcome to the discussions.
For the record, Apple does not normally respond to these Forums.
You mention (Due to Crashing) Whenever you have an issue with your machine it can disrupt in almost any area, and is normally caused by SOMETHING.
As of right now it would appear you might be chasing your tail.
When you choose to upgrade your Operating System there is No Guarantee that your Printer and it's drivers will work on another completely different Operating System.
Your best bet at this point is to drag all of your printer related folders to the trash, empty your trash, and plug your USB Printer (What KIND) into your machine directly.
Shut your machine clear OFF for a minute or so and do the same to your printer, pull the power adapter from it.
Now plug in your printers Power Adapter, Plug in the USB to your Printer to your computer and restart it.
Take the Disc that came with your printer and re insert it and download the Installation Folder and any utility folder that may come with it.
After you have done this don't try to print, Go directly to your Printer Manufactures Web site and search for the latest updates to your printer and the Operating System you are using.
These will more often than not download to your desktop.
You must drag these to the setup folder and or the utilities folder and then double click them to launch them. after you have completed this your printer should work.
One other thing, If you have Classic and or OS9 on your machine you might have to do the same for OS9 Applications , and Utilities for it to print in Classic. Don

  • PSE Backup wouldn't work: "CD device driver not installed; install PSE" didn't fix problem; Win7

I'm trying to backup by photos for the first time! in Photoshop 5.0 on a Windows 7 system. I get to "Full Backup" option, and get a pop-up that says "CD device driver not installed; reinstall PSE". I put my PSE disk into my computer, select "Repair... installs... missing files"; PSE re-installs, but I get the same message again when I try to backup. How do I find a CD device driver? (My DVD is formatted, but PSE can't find it.)

I just found a photoshop elements 5.0.2 update "patcher" and installed it. The install was successful but I still got the same message saying "CD device driver not installed". Might there be a problem since I'm now on Windows 7 and no longer on XP? I have no need to buy a newer version since Elements 5.0 does everything I need to do. Any other suggestions?

    Hi Slape84,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m sorry to hear that the Wireless driver is not getting installed in your G580 laptop after re-installing OS (Operating System), I suggest you to check if the Wireless is enabled in BIOS first then try to install the drivers. Below is the steps to access BIOS and check if the Wireless is enabled or not:
To enter BIOS setup utility, press F2 when the Lenovo logo appears on the screen while the computer is starting up.
NOTE: To check how the BIOS menu looks and to explore its options click here.
Now select “Configuration” Tab and enable the “Wireless LAN Support” by clicking on Enter Key when you are on the option.
Then Click on “F10” Key and then YES to save the changes that are done in BIOS, the computer will automatically restart.
Now check installing the Wireless driver in the computer, but and while installing while installing the driver right click on the downloaded file and select “Run as administrator” option to get it installed without any error.
NOTE: Please click on "Select Product" then in "QUICK PATH" enter the model no. as G580 select the exact model.

Do post us back if the issue still persists.

I tried some of them but it gives me error in the installtion or some time windows operating system restarts, give message "not accurated driver"
Please give the solution of this error.

    Hi:
You install the corresponding bluetooth software and driver for the model wireless card that is installed in your notebook.
    For example...
If you have a Ralink wireless card, you install the Ralink bluetooth software and driver.
If you have an Atheros wireless card, you install the Atheros bluetooth software and driver.
    etc.

  • Ipod 5th Generation 80 GB / Device Manager / Driver not Installed / Code 28

Well, where do I begin! Got my 1st Ipod 2 days ago & still unable to use it! I have installed & uninstalled the itunes 7 software numerous times. On phone w/ Apple for 1 hour...followed by online chat help w/ Dell.
I've tryed 4 different USB ports on my computer. The device Manager shows the Ipod w/ a ? and a ! in yellow. The add new hardware tells me, "Drivers for this device are not installed. Code 28." My computer reconizes that the ipod is plugged in, but will not do anything. There is no communication between the 2. Keeps telling me to insert cd for software for ipod.
Help! Does seem that other people are having similar issues. I think a software cd should of been provided w/ the ipod....not sure if that would of corrected my problem.

    Hi,
Click Start > All Programs > Accessories > Run. the Run dialog appears,
    Type %temp%, then click OK.
locate and enter into the HP Installation temporary folder, start with the 7Z characters.
If you can see several folders starting with 7Z, locate the latest one.

Copy the full path location by clicking CTRL + P while the path is selected.
    Enter the Device Manager.
Right click the printer name with the error mark, then click Update Driver.

  • Ethernet Controller - Driver not installed - Compaq Presario

Hello, I am new here so be gentle
I have just bought second hand a Compaq Presario 6240EA, motherboard is a Compaq 07D0h.
In the hardware - device manager, it shows 'Other devices' - Ethernet Controller, with a large yellow question mark and exclamation mark.
Details in properties show the following: drivers for this device are not installed (Code 28)
    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_01C3&SUBSYS_00A80E11&REV_C2\3&13C0B0C5&0&20
I have search the HP and Compaq websites for driver downloads and have downloaded all the nVidia drivers available on the Compaq site, none of which improve the situation.
Would there be somewhere else to look, I am at my wits end with this, any help would be much appreciated.
    Thank you in anticipation.

Please start your own thread rather than opening old ones back up. Also provide your full model number particularly when asking about hardware function which may involve drivers. • ThinkPad W530 Wireless Driver Not Available for Download

    I have a ThinkPad W530 laptop running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit.  Machine type and model = 2438-4CU
When I go to the driver list on Lenovo's website and click on it to download...it's unavailable...you can't download it.  The release date shows 3/28/13

I have also installed Lenovo's System Update and it doesn't list the wireless driver as a download option either.  I have installed all the other drivers found by the System Update tool.
Am I doing something wrong or is there an issue with this particular driver download.

  • Intel Wireless Display not installing on W530

I noticed recently that Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) was not installed on my W530, despite my recollection of installing it via Lenovo Update.  So I tried downloading the latest version both from Lenovo (3.5) and directly from Intel (4.0), but neither will install on my system.  During the install, I get a message saying "This platform is not compatible with Intel WiDi or the application is in use. Please see the log for more details."  Now, since I have an Intel i7 CPU with HD 4000 integrated graphics and an Intel wireless card (Centrino Ultimate 6300), my system meets the system requirements for WiDi.  i have also updated the Intel PROSet wireless software to the most recent version, as recommended by Intel's website.
Kaso suggested on the Notebook Review forums that this could happen if I clean installed Windows instead of booting from the Lenovo-supplied OEM image, since there may be specific registry keys or values that signify the system supports WiDi.  As i did clean-install Windows, I'm wondering if anyone knows what those specific registry keys or values might be, so I can add them in.
And if anyone has a different idea why WiDi won't install on my system, I'd appreaciate your input as well.  Thank you.
Thinkpad W530, i7-3720QM, 1920x1080 screen, 32GB RAM, dual SSDs (Samsung 830, Crucial M4 mSATA), Quadro K2000M, 9-cell battery, DVD burner, backlit keyboard, Bluetooth, Intel 6300 wireless card

I have had a number of difficulties with Intel WIDI aswell on my W530. And I will give you a few recommendations.
I recently clean installed my windows and used the Lenovo update tool to install and update all drivers. Then I installed the WIDI app from the lenovo page (3.5 something). Then it works like a charm. My windows reinstall is some coorporate reinstall. So it is not Lenovo generic windows.
You cannot install WIDI for some reason if you have your computer connected to any monitors or in the dock. I think it has something to do with the installer having difficulties with recognizing the Intel HD 4000 when you are at the same time using the NVIDIA GPU.
I have tried a lot of different combinations/versions of WIDI, Intel proset and HD4000 drivers before the reinstall and not all of them work. First I updated all the drivers and it did not work, then I rolled back the drivers and it still did not work. Finally I got it to work after hours of work. But I do not remember what versions I used when it did finally work. After the windows reinstall everything works.
    I am using:
    Intel WIDI 3.5.40
    Intel HD 4000: 9.17.10.2843
    Intel Proset: 15.6.1.0
I am very hesitant upgrading any of the drivers/apps because I fear it will cause problems with WIDI.
Let me know if you have any questions. Perhaps I am able to answer those.
I should perhaps mention that WIDI is not exactly the perfect technology. I have a brand new LG TV with WIDI, but I still encounter pixelations and other stuff once in a while, but I think it has something to do with my router (which is in another room) and a lot of WIFI noise in my apartement building with a lot of different WIFI connections.
A moment ago I launched WIDI to look for the version number and this is what I saw. So perhaps I need to update something today. I will look into it when I get home where my TV is.

  • W540 FaceTime HD Camera (Display) Driver Not Installed

My new W540 (11/10/2014) Lenovo Solution Center under the Check-up tab alerts me that the FaceTime HD Camera (Display) Driver is Not Installed.  Such as it is, the camera, a 720P HD, works just fine.  A search of resources does not uncover any comment or Driver on this issue.  So, since there is no problem as near as I can determine, should I just ignore the lack of Driver issue, and if so, what is the procedure to stop the Solution Center from alerting me to this error?  But if on the other hand I should install the Driver, where is that to be found?

I'm using the W540 in the Ultra Dock with video on a second monitor, an Apple monitor, using a Thunderbolt cable.  There is no Thunderbolt port in the Dock, so I use the W540 port which surprised me that it works.
FWIW, it is taking me a lot of time learning the location of programs and utilities having moved from my old W510 Win 7(64) setup to the W540 Win(64) 8.1 setup.

It is not a problem with the ThinkPad's camera. It is the camera in the Apple monitor that you don't have drivers for.
Being Apple, they might not even make driver for Windows.

Hi, I just went out and bought Sound Blaster SE and installed it on my computer. But, no sound... so I uninstalled it fully and came here and downloaded the newest driver, I installed it and still.. no sound. So I came here and followed all of the guides and STILL NO SOUND! So I went into DxDiag and checked DirectSound and this is what is shows:

Note the (No Driver).. odd seeing how it says 3 inches above this that I do infact have a driver installed..
I have onboard sound disabled and I have pcspeaker disabled. I'm running Windows XP Professional. The "no WHQL" wasn't there when I installed the driver via CD, but I still had the same (No Driver) issue.. so I don't think it is that.
If I can recieve ANY help, It will be much appreciated. I would just like to have working sound!

Sorry to double post, but I have heard that reinstalling Xp Pro will fix this problem, but I do not have the CDs anymore.. and I can't shell out the money to buy it again (that's why I got SE, it's cheap). Is there any other fix?
