  • Aperture + Canon Wireless File Transmitter WFT-E4 A?

    Hi guys,
I was wondering if you could help me out with something?
I have a Canon EOS 5D mkll and am looking at purchasing the Canon Wireless File Transmitter WFT-E4 A, my question is, am i able to wirelessly tether RAW images using this transmitter directly to Aperture or do i have to go through Canon's proprietary software?
    Thanks in advance.

My guess is that you will see a wireless network in range using your Airport menu.  The Airport menu looks like
.  If it is all gray and nothing is inside of it, then the network was not properly setup.  I do not have one, but if you tried to setup the network, and you can't see the device, then you might need Canon's support.

  • How to get macbook pro to work with a canon wft-e6 wireless file transmitter

I recently purchased a Canon WFT-E6 wireless file transmitter for my 1DX Canon Camera. I can't find a way to set up my Notebook Pro to work with this device. Has anyone run into the same issue? and if so do you have a solution?

  • How do I setup a wireless file sharing network with a desktop and laptop?

    Here are the specs.
Desktop, 1 Ethernet, hooked to Wireless router and is my main computer. XP Professional
    Router, Wireless Linksys WRT54GL
Laptop, Wireless card and Ethernet. XP Home
Both the Desktop and Laptop can use the internet. The internet can be accessed by both computers. I have tried everything from creating a network via windows, messed with that for a couple days, tried programs and messed with them for a few hours.
I can sometimes see the other computer, when I deleted the programs I had to redo it, and so on. I made the folders I wanted shared, through the share menu when you right click on them, and they show up on the other computer, but I can't access them. It says I don't have access rights and to contact the administrator, but IM the administrator.
    So, what do I do?

Disable all firewall on both the computers ....
Try to ping one computer to another ... see if it works ....
Also you can try this link ..... useful for enabling the sharing of files in a network ...

  • Firefox blocks file downloads that other browsers allow and when scanned by trends micro anti-virus shows clean. how do I fix this?

firefox will block about 25% of files downloaded & I have yet to find a file type that WON'T be blocked & once blocked it is blocked every time.

    Does it say:
Blocked: May contain a virus or spyware — example.com
That message most likely is generated by the Safe Browsing filter, which is a service based on site reputation data from Google. Something changed recently and this service is blocking many more sites.
Unlike the download block notice in Google Chrome, Firefox does not currently have a button to override the block. That is under consideration for a future version.
Currently, the only workaround for this is to temporarily turn off Safe Browsing, do the download, then turn it back on again. Or since you are using a Trend Micro product, you might already have protection against accessing untrustworthy websites in which case you could just turn it off. (Please check your product information.)
    The setting is here:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Security panel
It's the checkbox for "Block reported attack sites"
I have attached a screen shot in case it's helpful.

  • Best way to send files like photos wireless from Macbook to iPhone/Ipad? And Then vice versa?

What are the ways to send files like photos wireless from Macbook to iPhone/Ipad? And Then vice versa?

    Just one comment on this:
‘If I have, say, an older version of iPhoto but a newer version of one on my new Macbook Pro, will it still transfer photos no problem?’
the problems are ALWAYS in the reverse way, when you have the newest (or a newer) version of a given app, and wish to transfer its library to an older version.
Otherwise, see the link to Pondini.
I have been using Martin Jahn’s iBackup, with which I have become accustomed and works fine. It also makes daily backups. Its advantage over other apps is that you may add whatever you wish to save, beside its default settings (which you may delete or cancel, of course, even if not recommended); it also has a friendly interface and easily customizable. Of course, this is a personal view, you may try other methods as well, or other backup apps. All are good if you are satisfied and correspond to your needs.

I have a new lion server and 4 lion laptops. The laptops loose connection to the shared documents and printers from the server after roughly 1 hour. By disconnecting and re-connecting wireless the connection is regained to shares and printers. We can still surf the web when it goes down.

Ok 1st one. The warning restriction message relates to this line in main.cf:
    smtpd_helo_restrictions = permit_sasl_authenticated  permit_mynetworks  check_helo_access hash:/etc/postfix/helo_access  reject_non_fqdn_hostname  reject_invalid_hostname  permit reject_invalid_helo_hostname
The last reject occurs after the single word "permit" and is ignored.
    However, that's not the problem.
I'm not exactly sure what's happening, but this might be a clue.
It would appear that either postfix is not being able to create the socket for private/policy or it's somehow created with the wrong permissions.  You might need to ramp up the debug level to get a better idea.
You could check if it's being created by "netstat -a | grep private/policy" in terminal.
My guess is that it's not being created because there is no setup statement in your master.cf file, but I don't understand why postfix would be looking for it if it isn't set up.  Private/policy I think relates to grey listing.  Maybe gives you a hint.

  • Fix for Airport Wireless Connection Problem stating Self-Assigned IP and not wanting to connect in Lion OSX.

Fix for Airport Wireless Connection Problem stating Self-Assigned IP and not wanting to connect in Lion OSX.
Bought my girlfriend the newest Macbook Pro 13" and began experiencing problems with my wifi the moment we got home. Her Macbook would not connect to our home Wi-Fi while my old Macbook Late 2008 running Snow Leopard connected without a problem. Airport would say that it had a Self-Assigned IP address (168.x.x.x). Did not realize it was a Lion problem until after using her Macbook Pro and becoming jealous of the new OSX, I upgraded. Soon after I was unable to go online. Luckily I had my iPad 2 and I began to scoure the net for help. Ran into allot of suggestions but it was not until I tried the following all together was I able to share the good new, from my Macbook. Hope this works:
First go to Preferences > Network and click on the cog next to the + and - on the sidebar and click Set Service Order
         - Move Wi-Fi to the top and click ok.
         - Set location to Automatic
         - Click Apply
         - Click Advanced
         - Click the "-" on the selected Wi-Fi router you wish to connect to
         - Click Apply
         - Click Lock to Prevent Further Changes
Go to your Mac's harddrive, (Macintosh)
         - Go to Library > Preferences > SystemConfiguration >
         - Delete "com.apple.airport.preferences.plist" file
    Turn off your computer
         - push and hold Option+Command+R+P
         - turn on computer
         - when the grey screen turns on you will hear the OS X "ON" sound (for lack of a proper term) and it will momentarily restart.
         - you will once again hear the "ON" sound, let go of all keys.
         - this resets your PRAM
Go to Preferences > Network > Advanced > + sign
         - click Choose a Network
         - Select your network and enter password
Viola!!! I tried this on my Macbook Late 2008 and my girlfriends new Macbook Pro 2010

No you are clearly mistaken. The Self-Assigned IP address problem exists on many Macbook Pro models, including the current model, which I mentioned as being the original computer with the problem. While my 2008 Macbook is older it was working perfectly on Snow Leopard and didn't suffer issues until switching to Lion. So clearly the problem exists on the operating system and not so much the hardware.
I called Apple Support  and they had no fix for the problem and told me that this would hopefully be addressed in a subsequent update. It wasn't until I came accross the answer after trying many different methods that I got both of the Macbooks to connect to my router. Otherwise I wouldn't or could not have been surfing the internet for the last 4 months.
    Cheers.

  • Is there a Canon Eos (T4i, T5i) camera digital file transmitter avaialible? Please help!

Is there a Canon Eos (T4i, T5i) camera digital file transmitter avaialible?  These models tlisted for Canon all cost $600 + and up all say they are only compatible with with the pro models.  Is there a another brand or model that works with the lower end DSLR Eos rebel models that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?  Please help.

I've heard the Wifi SD card may resolve your problem and they're much cheaper.

  • Wireless file sharing between two MacBooks

I feel like this is kind of a silly question, but here goes:
Is it possible to set up wireless file sharing between two macs when there is no wireless network available.
For example, if I am on a plane (with no wi-fi) and wan to wirelessely connect to my partners macbook to browse his hard drive, can I do it? Right now, I use a firewire cable when flying, but would love to not have to.
    Thanks for the help.

    Yes, it's possible to do.
You setup one of the Macs to act as a base station of sorts. If you've got the AirPort Status menu shown you can just use the 'Create Network…' option in that menu to create a new wireless network hosted on this Mac. Just tell the other Mac to connect to that network using the name and security credentials you specified when you created the network, and you're done.

  • Wireless connection for emac with OS 9 and (i think it has OS X 10.4.11)

my daughter bought an emac from her school. It was not set up with the airport connection, so I bought a Netgear USB wireless adaptor, but it only supports a mac with 10.3v or higher. In researching her computer we found a file that had an X and restarted her computer to start in the X 10.4.11 version. It re-started so we put the start up cd for the adaptor in to set it up and it still won't work. Does that mean the computer does not have X 10.4.11? How do I know for sure if the computer has it or not? She needs a wireless adaptor because the router is downstairs and cannot be moved. Very confused and frustrated!! any information would be greatly appreciated.

If you have the eMac booted up, click on the Apple (far left side of the top menu). In the window that opens, you'll see what the OS is.

Is it wise to keep the Nikon camera files "DSC's"  after downloading them and converting to DNG files via Adobe converter for lightroom use. In other words do the DNG files have all the raw data I would ever need in processing or should I save the camera's DSC files?

DNG files do not contain some metadata supplied by the camera, which can be used by the manufacturer's software. Thus, if you don't keep the original Raw photo, you will lose this information.
If your 1000% sure you're never going to use the manufacturer's software, then this isn't a problem. But who can be sure what software you will be using 10 years from now?
