i just bought my first imac (intel) and a wireless hp printer. i now realize that a wireless connection between my imac and my printer needs a router.
i have an airport express base station, which is a few years old. I can't find my documentation, so i don't know its specifications.
how can i find out the specs of the airport express i have and whether i can use it now? it says that it is model a1084 100-240v~ 0.2a 50-60 hz.
does that tell any knowledgeable people out there about the specs? can i search the apple website by serial number and find the specs?

  • HP Wireless Direct Print

im using my new hp laserjet pro 300 with Wireless Direct Print. i can use the wireless direct print feature great with my iphoe as well as my android phone. advertisements suggested that i would also be able to print from my wireless laptop using the HP Wireless Direct Print feature. was i mistaken?

Install the HP eprint Mobile Driver
    Download the driver from www.hp.com/go/eprintmobiledriver.
Launch the installer and follow the instructions in the install wizard.
Register the HP ePrint Mobile Print Driver
Registering the driver to the Windows or Mac computer is required for the HP ePrint Mobile Driver to send print jobs from your print client, into your ePrintCenter.com account, to an HP ePrint enabled product registered to ePrintCenter.com. For direct IP printing from a Windows client over the local area network to a supported PostScript device, ePrintCenter.com registration is not required and is therefore optional if web-based printing is not required.
    ePrint Credential Setup
This default option presented during installation guides you through enabling the HP ePrint Mobile Driver for web-based printing. When presented with the HP ePrint Registration option within the HP ePrint Mobile Driver, you are asked to enter an email address and Personal Identification Number (PIN). If you skip this step during driver installation, you can access the registration option again from the user interface of the installed driver.
    Email
The HP ePrint Mobile Driver registration process asks you for an email address. This email
address is used by ePrintCenter.com to send a system-generated Personal Identification Number required to register the HP ePrint Mobile Driver to your Mac or Window client. The email address you provide can be the same email address used to create your ePrintCenter account, or any other email
address that you have access to read received emails.
    PIN
The registration process sends a Personal Identification Number (PIN) from [email protected] to the email address entered into the HP ePrint Mobile Driver registration screens. Supply the provided PIN to the HP ePrint Mobile Driver. Registration status is provided through the user interface (Success or Fail). Click OK from the Registration Successful acknowledgement screen. The credentials provided during registration are saved for this computer, which enable the print client to send print jobs from any installed application on the Mac or Windows system.
The system can now print to registered HP ePrint-enabled products.
Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks!

How do I make my HP P2055dn printer into a wireless network printer for 5 computers? Windows versions on computers used are  XP,Vista & 7.
    Thanks

Unplug the USB cable from the printer.  Plug your printer into your wireless router with an Ethernet cable.
Next, on each computer, get the latest software for your printer from the "Support & Drivers" link at the top of this page.  Install it and select "Network" installation when it asks.

  • Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition; Wireless Direct Printing Issues

Good day everyone. The subject refers. I have been trying to connect my tablet to my hp printer (LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw) using wireless direct printing without success. What normally happens is when I try to detect the printer through wifi on the tablet, the error message I get from the tablet is "Network disabled because internet connection is slow". What can I do???

    Hello OgoOluwa,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
Regarding the troubles getting the Wireless Direct connection working with a Samsung Galaxy Note, does this error display only on the Wireless Direct network?
I have not been able to reproduce the error, but I have found something that addresses the error on another support site that might be worth a try.
Getting "Network disabled because internet connection is slow" during setup<--- Not a HP support site, nor is it related to a printer, but the error is the same and follows suite with a connection issue with a Samsung product.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless: HP printer unable to connect to wireless router.

Installing new printer,  getting error msg saying HP printer unable to connect to wireless router.   MAC address filtering may be enabled on your wireless router which can prevent HP printer from connecting to your wireless network during setup.
SOLUTION says:  If MAC address filtering is enabled and you would like to keep it enabled, you must add the MAC addressof your printer to the list of permitted devices for your wireless router before continuing.
My router is WD My Net N900 Router. MAC filtering is diabled. My security mode is WPA/WPA2 Personal.
I have run out of ideas to try and fix the issues, would appreciate some help.
    Thanks,

    Hi Jamshidk
I am surprised you are getting that message and you checked the router settings and it is showing that the Mac Filtering is disabled.
I would suggest connecting the printer to the router with a ethernet cable to get a valid IP address and then setup the wireless.
    Print a configuration report.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&dlc=en&docname=c01554589&lc=en&product=3760410&tmp...
Type the IP address from the configuration page  in the address bar into internet explorer browser. This will open the embedded web server for the printer. Click on the Networking tab, on the left hand side select wireless. After this is setup and applied, disconnect the ethernet cable.
Should be on the wireless network. Takes about 1 minute.
    Run the add printer wizard.
Go to start, devices and printers and select add a printer. (Win 7)
    Test the printer.

  • How do I print from an iPad 3 Generation to an Officejet 6500 wireless E709n printer

I am a new iPad user and I have a 3rd Generation iPad and want to print to an Officejet 6500 wireless E709n printer but the iPad does not recognize the printer when I try to print or visa-versa.  I am using a Ubee Modem/Router and don't know what to do. What do I have to do or what do I have to download to make the iPad and HP Printer print.

    Hi,
Your printer is not in the list therefore no AirPrint available. Your printer does not support ePrint therefore you can use Home & Biz apps. Have you downloaded apps to your iPad yet ? If yes, please try:
Pressing the iPad home button two times (a list of currently running apps should appear at the bottom of the screen).
Press and hold the HP ePrint Home & Biz app until it starts to move around.
Press the red 'X' on the app to end its process.
    Press the iPad home button.
    Regards.

  • MacBook Air will not print on wireless Epson printer.  It says 'filter failed'

MacBook Air all of a sudden will not print on wireless Epson printer.  The error message is 'filter failed'.  Shut down everything and rebooted, but still not printing.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
    Select
              /var/log ▹ cups ▹ error_log
from the hierarchical list on the left side of the Console window. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the messages from the time of the last failed printing attempt. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.

  • Wireless Network Printing Solution

Yesterday I discoverd a solution that allows you to set up a HP Photosmart C7200 Series (Model Number: SDGOB-0713) on a wireless network... This is related to an issue we had printing from an iMac, MacBook Pro and a Mac mini to two different identical HP C7200 printers.
We found that if you plugged both the printer and the Mac's directly into the network (no wireless involved) you can successfully auto detect the printer with a Bonjour option and an HP IP option, Note: prevously we couldn't detect it at all. Then we installed both print queue options and found that the Bonjour option stop's working once you switch back to wireless but the HP IP Queue contenues to work great wired or wireless.

Sorry This Printer does not have e-print and  wireless capability .To send print job through your ipad requires e-print capability and not necessarily wireless enabled printer  .

I have an Airport Extreme, 2 laptops with windows 7 and a wireless HP printer.  I am not able to connect the laptops to the printer.  Any advise?

The problem is not the router.. the issue is the vpn has put your computer in a different IP range with a different gateway. When you turn off the vpn the computer returns to local lan and can print.
Some vpn software allows you to set gateway to use local net instead of remote gateway or access to other webistes or local lan.
    Read up the issue.

    Cisco vpn client..
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/239113
I did not search much.. just grabbed the first article I could find that explains the issue.
The whole point of the vpn is whilst it is connected your computer is NOT part of the Local Lan .. it is part of the Remote LAN via the vpn tunnel.
It is also a security risk using split tunnelling so often it will not be allowed.
Plug the printer directly into the computer via usb or whatever.. Local connection will work.. not local lan.

  • Understand the basics of wireless photo printing

I've really found the reasons to use wireless printing, at least in the home. I have teenage kids and I've put laptops in their rooms. However, we only need one printer in the home so I've hooked up all the laptops with wireless access to the printer. The printer happens to sit by me in my home office, so it is always nice when I hear the printer start running and the nightly homework assignment comes out.
Wireless photo printing is the ultimate in freedom and flexibility. You can print without the clutter of wires and save money by sharing printers within your household. Explore all the benefits and potential that wireless has to offer.
Mobility - Enjoy the freedom to easily print photos, and whatever else you want, from virtually anywhere in your home. For example, you can print pictures from the den, the kitchen counter, or the kids' room.
No wires - Enjoy clutter-free photo printing with no cords and tangled wires taking up desk space and tethering you to one location.
Shared printing - Save money by sharing one printer between multiple Wi-Fi-enabled PCs or notebooks in your home, rather than having a printer for each computer.
1-2-3 Setup: HP has one of the easiest wireless setups around. Learn more about this simple way to set up your wireless HP Photosmart printer.
Touchscreens: HP Photosmart printers come with an interactive touchscreen that makes wireless setup easier.
In-printer Wireless Setup Wizard: Wireless Setup Wizard software automatically finds your network settings and connects your photo printer to the network.
Wireless combos: Some HP Notebooks and printers now feature wireless capabilities such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Ethernet, combined into one product.
Print from an iPhone: Wirelessly print photos from your iPhone or iPod touch with the HP iPrint Photo application.
HP has a wide range of wireless printers that are either Bluetooth- enabled, Wi-Fi-enabled, or both.
Some printers, like the HP Photosmart C5580 All-in-One Printer, Scanner, Copier, have Bluetooth wireless capabilities.
Other printers, like the HP Photosmart C6380 All-in-One Printer, Scanner, Copier are Wi-Fi 802.11-enabled.
And then there are products like the HP Photosmart Premium Fax All-in-One Printer, Scanner, Fax, Copier which features both wireless technologies.
Of course, all HP wireless printers also allow you to share and print photos from your networked computers using wired methods such as built-in Ethernet connectivity and USB ports.

I assume you have a wireless router.  Tell me about your network - router brand/model, encryption type (WEP, WPA, etc) and ISP type (DSL, Cable, etc).
It sounds like there was a direct connection between the printer and computer (using the network 'hpsetup'?).
You should be able to connect your printer to your wireless router (if you have one).  Please advise and I can help.
