Wireless internet in hotels giving security certificate expirations
I noticed this when I was on vacation when I was staying in hotels and trying to use the internet on my ibook. I was trying to login into my bank and credit card sites to check my balance, but couldn't due to some sort of message saying the certificate had expired. Now back at home, with my wireless I don't get that message. Could this have been a temporary glitch or was this because of the hotels wireless? What should I do the next time this happens to fix this issue?

This tends to happen when your system clock is incorrectly set.
Does your iBook battery hold good charge? Sometimes if the battery is not charged and you haven't place the power adapter in for a while, the system clock resets itself. (You should see a warning in most cases)
If this happens again, just check to see if your system clock has been set correctly and if not change accordingly.

thank you for your reply. I also found this bug on metalink and did as they wrote there (change the date before 2009). It worked, pre requirments assistant is now ok, but after setting private/public interfaces section it fails with error message:
"Unable to collect and verify hardware information on all nodes" ...
This is the same error I got in 11g as well, because I already had a post yesterday about this bug in this section :(
The strange thing is that now cluster verification passes the system architecture check for (10.2.0.4), but it fails during the installation of CRS.
We are already have an SR with Metalink, but unfortunately they are not much of a help :(

No wireless Internet after the lastest security update
Everything was working fine,but since i did the latest security update,...i noticed my wireless internet connection was getting weaker and weaker and now i can't connect anymore.
I'm using a Belkin PCcard in my Powerbook G4 Titanium 867 GHZ
Connected to a Belkin Wireless router.My Belkin Card is recognized as airport express in the system profiler.
We also have a Ibook G4 800GHZ with an orginal airport extreme card , same problems too, no connection to our Belkin router.
As i wrote earlier everything was working fine.....
internet works fine with the standard UTP rj45 cable..
What i did , Repaired all the permission, restarted the router, removed the airportkext2 file as suggested on some postings etc etc (later put it back ofcourse)... but no solution...
Must be something with the latest, update I hope Apple solves this issue soon, any help from you Macwizards really appreciated.

Encore cs5.1 security certificate expired update
How do I get an updated security certificate for Encore CS5.1?
Windows 7 says that the security certificate is outdated, cira. Nov 2012. The program works, but I have to accept the security certificate is out of day and the program can modify this computer. Encore 5.1 is a 32 bit program and Premiere Pro is a 64 bit program. The Account Controls settings is the brakes to programs making changes to the computer/system. This is one of those updates from Microsoft that finally stopped the Premiere Pro from making the Adobe Dynamic Link to Encore due to this certificate being out of date.
Also in the quick launch tray the Encore icon has a Microsoft security shield icon overlaid on it as well. If I turn off the account controls then Premiere Pro will through the Adobe Dynamic Link to Encore works. The only bad thing is that every other program has the same permission. My statement that it is a licensing certificate may be a wrong choice of words, but the fact remains that Adobe may not be supplying the certificate update anymore. -

Mail Client on Laptop is Windows Live Mail. Mail server outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net. DSL Internet. Long time Verizon customer. Client configuration settings correct according to Verizon. I now get an Interenet Security Warning message whenever I start up the Live Mail Client and send an e-mail. Only happens on sending e-mails. The warning message comes back looking for a YES or NO answer. The message is
"The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that could not be verified."
"A certificate chain processed, but terminated in a root certificate which is not trused by the trust provider."
"Do you want to continue using the server?" "YES or NO"
I click YES in order to successfully send e-mail messages which I do not like to do. I only have to press YES on the first e-mail message that I send. The rest outgoing e-mail work correctly after that first one.
What has Verizonn done to cause the problem on my client software? I have done nothing to change configurations on my Windows 7 and Windos Live Mail laptop. I have done some research, and verified that my computer time and time zone is correct. I am looking for an explanation on why this is happening from Verizon.

OR Did you get any indication that your mail server settings were going to change at the end of Sept 2013? A mass email went out for "standard" verizon users earlier this year. I am not sure if this effects Yahoo/VZ settings.

How to delete an expired security certificate?
Each time I open a fresh Firefox page, I get a message popping up 4 times informing me that a security certificate for a cashback set-up that no longer exists, has expired. How do I get rid of it?
Thank you for taking the time to reply. Alas, I have tried restarting Firefox but can find no "Safe Mode" in the menu at the top of the screen. My Firefox is old, having come out of Noah's Ark all of 4 years ago, an eternity for the weirdos that design these things. (Version 13 something). So the problem is still there. Not that it means much, as all I have to do is click on each of the four or five irritating messages that pop up each time I start the bloody thing. And anyway, as Firefox has decided to stop "supporting" my version, I'll soon have to find a navigator that I can still use. Or buy a new Macintosh, which I'm certainly not prepared to do; planned obsolescence has its limits.

Marianne HartI don't have any freecause add-on, nor do I have a gamers unite toolbar, or a tracker for airline miles. I am completely unable to use Firefox (I'm on another computer right now).
It looks like I will just need to completely uninstall Firefox. I don't get this error message in IE 8 or in Google Chrome, so it's a Firefox problem apparently.
I can't even access Tools because the pop up window won't go away.

So i was trying to get into a admin panel for my mumble server.

So i checked my security certificate and it was showing it expired yesterday.
I can get into that one, but when i removed it.
It did not even ask me to add a new one after visiting the site again.
I cannot even ignore the warning and continue to the site.
Adding the certificate manually worked, but it added one which was already expired.I have experienced this problem exactly as the OP has described. I have to open task manager to temporarily restore Firefox functionality.
Also, my sister bought a new HP PC about a month ago. I intalled Firefox on it, and she also sees this problem.
I've been forced to go back to IE (which does not have this problem) until Firefox can sort this out, which hopefully will be soon. -
Expired Security Certificate for Flash Player 10.2.153.1 Install
When I tried to update the Flash Player to the latest release, 10.2.153.1, Adobe tried to download the latest DLM. This is normal. Windows 7 gives the the option to check the publisher's security certificate, which I always do. This time I found that the certificate for Adobe had expired on 3/16/2011. Since today is 3/21/2011, and the fix was made available today, I aborted the install. An expired certificate would be fine if the date the file was signed was in the period the certificate was valid, but there is no way to check that.
What is going on here? Has someone hacked the Adobe servers? Or is this just an "Oops" on the part of Adobe.Hi, Since that's the latest update that just came out, I haven't had time to check that. Is the certificate for the DLM perhaps?
What about the certificate with the Flash Player you have Installed currently? What does it say?

Security Update has destroyed my wireless Internet access
Hi,
I am reposting this as a separate question as no one has answered my post from 2 days ago and I am getting desperate.
Ever since I downloaded the latest Apple security update two days ago for my OS Tiger, my wireless connection won't work, I am using a separate wireless stick (Sitecom) as Airport won't get me onto channel 13 here in Europe. I know I am connected to the Linksys router here, as the software of my wireless stick tells me this, but my Mail and Safari now tell me I am not connected to the Internet.
I have checked everything, the wireless stick is at the top of the list of my network connections and the box beside it is checked, and the numbers in the Network>TCP/IP>DNS Servers, for the wireless stick are still 208.67.222.222 208.67.220.220. So now I am using a network cable as a temporary measure but I can't live like this as the router with the cable is 100 feet away from where I am staying.
It must be something to do with the latest Security Update as I literally was using the wireless perfectly to download the Security Update, then I switched off my computer and switched it on again, and now my wireless connection won't work. What should I do? I tried duplicating the wireless stick connection and then deleting the original but that didn't work. I am afraid to remove the files in my Library as suggested on another thread because I have lots of wireless connections as I travel a lot and I can never replace them all. Help!Hi,
well, I got it to work by following BDAqua's advice and adapting it for my external wireless stick - i.e. I went to System Preferences - Network - Show Network Port Configurations, and I highlighted my Sitecom wireless stick i.e. Ethernet Adaptor, and I then clicked Delete but I didn't pull the stick out. The listing for the Ethernet Adaptor then went to the bottom of the list but was still visible in pale grey with no checkmark in the box beside it. Then I went to the Keychain access but there was no password listed there for the stick so I didn't do anything there. Then I rebooted. Then I went back to Sys Pref - Network - Show Network Port Configs and then I rechecked the box beside Ethernet Adaptor and dragged it back to the top of the list. Then my Location was at Automatic, I am not sure if I made it go there or if it had automatically gone there - prior to this it was at a separate location I had made for my wireless stick, with the DNS Servers that BDAqua had given me in a prior thread. So now I am functioning on the Automatic Location, so what is happening is that it is taking a long time to find the Internet after rebooting and then it is not using the DNS Servers from the previous wireless stick location, but that DNS Server box is now blank. I have rebooted a couple of times and this system seems to be working for me so I will stick with it and just not turn off my computer very often. Whether or not the location I had made specifically for my wireless stick will ever work again I don't know and don't want to spend hours more agony trying to find out. So I am satisfied with this solution.

I'm unable to access a website because it says my "mobile me security certificate has expired." When checking the account, it says it expires on June 30, 2012. I realize that's the date to switch to iCloud, but how can I reinstate or update the certificate now? I should have 5 days left to use it. Any help would be appreciated - thanks!

Expired security certificates and crashing Safari?
Help! As of a couple of weeks ago, I began receiving the error code "Expired Security Certificate" in Yahoo! mail when trying to Compose a new email. I was able to send email from my Gmail account, and have had to rely on that. Now, I cannot even send from Gmail - it causes Safair to crash. I continue to get the Security warning on Yahoo! I searched online for fixes, including looking in Utilities and the key folder. I see the problem keys, but "repair" does not fix them. The Yahoo! one is dated "Saturday, April 15, 2013" which is obviously incorrect, as today, is Monday, April 15, 2013.
My Safari is also beginning to randomly crash. I just ran updates, but it didn't see to help.It could mean a lot of things. Basically, the SSL certificate is there to:
1) Encrypt information between you and the site
2) Provide you with a "statement of trust" of sorts from the CA saying that this server is, in fact, run by "Company XYZ". In this case, your bank.
Certificates expire and must be renewed, so it's entirely possible your bank forgot to renew their certificate. It's also possible that it's not an authentic certificate and the system has been hijacked by some malicious person. The traffic you send to the server will still be encrypted, but it may get sent to somebody other than your bank if the site was hijacked in some way.
It'd probably be best to contact your bank and ask them about it. That way you should be able to get a definitive answer straight from them. If the certificate is correct and verified, just expired, it will still work just fine. I wouldn't log in to the site until you've checked with them, though. -
Adobe's certificate used for security patch expired
I was advised to install a security patch for Acrobat XI Pro (11.0.07 --> 11.0.08). But when verifying Adobe's certificate of the downloaded file I realized that the signature has expired already. How can I trust in a security patch which hasn't got a valid signature? Did they hack Adobe's website?

Exchange 2007 Certificate Expired Error when using VPN
We recently did a server migration to a new domain (split away from part of the company - sept 2013). I set up the exchange certs and everything worked fine, even when people used the vpn. Recently (it probably started a few months ago) it has
started giving cert errors again, but just for VPN users.
This happens when someone takes their computer or has Outlook 2010 set up on their home computer. They VPN in and when the program starts, it gives the certificate errors for exchange and for autodiscover saying "The security certificate has expired
or is not yet valid". I have checked to make sure that the certs are in fact up to date and are pointing to the correct certificates in IIS. They haven't changed since I originally set them up.
One of the users sent me a picture of the certificate and it is the old cert (that is expired) that used to belong to the previous address when we used the other (completely different) exchange server. The other users haven't sent me the errors they
see, but I assume they are similar. They are able to use exchange if they hit ok on the error box. I couldn't find anywhere online saying that there was any kind of local caching for certs - it should always call home when connecting. So
why are their systems pulling up the old cert when they VPN in, but not when they are hardwired to the internal network on the same computer?
When using the internal network without the vpn, there aren't any error messages.
Any ideas? I've looked around the forums, but I didn't see anything that has helped. I'm using godaddy for my certs currently.Hi,
Since the Outlook clients work well without VPN, I suggest re-build the VPN (if you don't mind) to verify whether it is a caches issue.

I've been googling for a while, and I can't figure out how to apply a small-caps effect to the title at the top of my document. i have it in rich text format. i even tried Bean, and it uses the OS X font picker in which there is no small caps option.
