Wireless is not enabled
Someone plzzzzzz... help me. I've spent hours trying to set the new lela up, but I am not getting anywhere. I am trying to connect my printer and other devices wirelessly, but I can't. When I had the old advisor, everything was connected beautifully. I did a recent update to the latest lela, & now I am having connection problems.
When I go into add a device, wireless option is grayed out. I tried uninstalling & re-installing lela thinking maybe something went wrong during the install, but it did not work. Then with the suggestion of an agent I tried network magic, I am still experiencing the same issue, no wireless option. The message says that my router is not enabled for wireless. That is not true, b/c I am connected wirelessly right now through this computer. I went into the router management area online & went into the wireless tab and wireless is enabled. I even tried a disable-save- then an enable-save, still no luck. Trying to isolate the issue, I dl lela onto my other computer, & I still have the same issue.... someone pls.......... help.
I've also tried disabling my firewall & resetting my router.... I'm running out of ideas. Pls help.

Install on Linux and works fine on usb. Any ideas before I send it back?
Thanks.Hi John1222...
It wasn't clear that your question was ever answered and, since I had the same problem which I've just resolved after several hours, I thought I'd post something that hopefully will help you or others with the same problem.
My P1102w arrived with wireless disabled, so the blue wireless light would just blink for a while and then shut off. To address this, I had to follow the instructions from Mandy_G scattered across the exchange at http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Mac-Printing-and-Scanning/HP-LaserJet-P1102w-amp-Mountain-Lion-Wireless...
Basically:
1. Uninstall any existing drivers for the printer you've already installed and removed the printer from the printer list.
2. Download and install the driver for 10.7 (there isn't one for 10.8, apparently) at http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=bi-80684-8&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...
3. Install the firmware update at http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4142&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=4110...
4. Once installed, go into System Preferences, Print and Scan, and for the P1102w select Options & Supplies and then select Utility. Make sure the USB cable connects your printer to your computer and then click on Open Printer Utility, which will open a webpage.
5. Follow the instructions at the YouTube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c972ybZvZzo on how to set-up the wireless configuration. You will first need to Enable your wireless settings, but you'll see where that needs to be done before continuing with the video instructions.
Hope that works for you. -

Remote Desktop Connection ok on work wireless but not from home
I've succesfully logged into the Win 2003 SBS (Terminal Services) from within the wireless connection at work using Mircrosoft's "Remote Desktop Connection". However when I try to do this from home I get the following error message "Either remote connections are not enabled, the computer is too busy to accept new connections, or network problems are preventing your connection. Try connecting again later or contact your administrator."
I've got the firewall on the mac on.
Now what I can't work out is why it works when at work and not from home. I have been searching for ages and can't work this out - annoying as I am sure it is very simple!
One thing I can think of is that the first time others connect via PCs they have to download the connection manager from the company web site which installs a security certificate. However this is an .exe file so cannae work on the Mac.
Do all I need to do is ask the IT administrator to email me the certificate and drop it into the keychain?
Thanks in advance."Now what I can't work out is why it works when at work and not from home."
Probably because, if your work is smart, they have a firewall in place, blocking external access to the ports needed for use with RDC. -

T-42 wireless will not reconnect
MY ( new to me [used])T-42 wireless will not reconnect unless the computer is restarted. I had this issue with the OEM XP pro. I installed XP home complete with new drivers & updates from IBM- same problem. The wireless card is called just IBM in the drivers section at Lenovo, but installs as an Atheros 11 A/B/G card. When attempting to reconnect, the computer will sometimes just keep trying to acquire the address for hours. If I provide the address it will show connected, but IE will not function. This issue occurs: *if you go out of range, *manually disconnect, or *disable the connection. When you enable- or attempt to reconnect- the computer will act as described above. The ONLY way I can reconnect, is to restart the computer. This issue has stayed the same with two different OS's & two different routers. My garage is in a fringe area & I don't want to have to restart every time I loose the signal. Please advise
I've also had this problem and can thicken the plot. I have a 13" Macbook pro with 10.6.5. It has always had this problem. My wife has the IDENTICAL MACHINE and it has never done it. My iPhone never does it, not the mini or iMac we have in the house. We have a Linksys WRT54GL router. My SSID is hidden.

Ethernet Connects/Wireless Does Not
Hello-
I am setting up a DSL connection through SBC. They have provided me with a 2Wire wireless modem (Model #2701). I am able to connect through my ethernet cord just fine, but the wireless will not connect. Actually, to be more exact, I can connect through the wireless, but the web pages time out when I open up Safari (airport shows the network and accepts my password).
I have gone through 2Wire's website and SBC's as well, but have found nothing that helps fix the situation. Same goes with this discussion forum...
Anyone have any idea of what I can do to get a wireless connection that does not time out?
Thanks in advance.
Message was edited by: Michael M.The numbers are only relevent to wireless. Your cabled connection will work, whether you put numbers in or not.
You say:"+yes I am sure that it is not the problem because it is accepting it and not giving me any errors+"
Which "it" is accepting "it"?
If your wireless card in mac isn't turned on, I think you could enter ANY numbers, and still get no errors.
Have you enabled your airport ? (MenuBar, upper right, I think)
Can you see anyone else's wireless network name? Ever connected before over wirelss? (hope I didn't miss that six or seven msgs ago)
Yep, you said you're seeing the network name. Can you connect to 2Wire using ethernet cable, turn OFF encryption, then try wireless again?

Cisco 7921 - Spectrum management is not enabled/supported by AP.
Hi all :)
I get the following alarm from the site survey on a 7921.
Spectrum management is not enabled/supported by AP.
Can anyone tell me what this means?
Also, when you are walking around doing a site survey, what is the CU?
Many thx indeed,
KenThis is referring to 802.11h when using 5 GHz.
I assume this is the Cisco Unified Wireless LAN Controller?
If so, check to ensure that Channel Announcement and Channel Quiet Mode are enabled
See page 44 in the 7921G Deployment Guide @ http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuipph/7921g/6_0/english/deployment/guide/7921dply.pdf')">http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuipph/7921g/6_0/english/deployment/guide/7921dply.pdf.
CU stands for Channel Utilization, which is based on QBSS information provided by the AP to inform the client how busy the channel is. -
Kernal message: Could not enable ARP cache poisoning detection.
Looking at system files in Console, for another issue, I came across this kernal message, which occurs at start-up: "*Could not enable ARP cache poisoning detection. Your computer will not be protected*."
It's an intel Mac Mini running Leopard ( 10.5.8 ). I have Norton Antivirus for Mac 11 installed (I know, I know), which has ARP cache poisoning turned on in its "vulnerability protection" prefs. I've gotten no warnings of attacks from Norton, just this Kernal message at start-up. I've seen this issue on a couple of other threads with no answer or solution (except advice to Google it... duh!), already archived and accepting no new posts... so no help there.
Is this ARP cache poisoning detection part of the OS, and if so, why is it not being enabled? Is there a way to enable it? Could the kernal message be telling me that the Norton protection is bugged and not working, or would it be OS related. The mini is a wired connection (ethernet), and there's one other laptop (macbook 10.4.11) using the modem/router ( Actiontec GT 701-wg) via wireless airport. I haven't seen this message on the laptop in console or system logs, but haven't looked hard.
Someone, please respond with a knowledgeable answer, for me and for others who've asked here and on other forums with no helpful public answers given.Doing a "erase and install" of Leopard, thus dumping Norton AV 11, and then installing Snow Leopard... I haven't seen this Kernal message come up again, yet. I'll assume it was some buggy Norton related thing that cropped up after an OS update, but who knows. I'll leave the question open for a bit, in case anyone else has had this issue and found a reason or solution, and wants to share.

I have Dell Studio laptop. WiFi on my device is not enabling. It was working good but when I installed new anti-virus software it disabled my WiFi. I discussed with the representative of the anti-virus company and they said that they have released a patch
for it. I updated the patch but didn't work. Then I un-installed antivirus. (before installing new antivirus software, my WiFi was working) But then also it didn't work.
On right click of "Wireless Network Connection" when clicked on Enable then I could see two small windows, first comes Enabling and the Enabled but status is still Disabled.
Please advice.Hi
What antivirus that you used? some antivirus need advance uninstallation
I suggest restore your PC back before you install this antivirus -
Windows XP Mode - Could not enable integration features
Hello! Let me start off with saying that I'm not very computer savvy, so please be gentle! :)
So here my problem. I have scoured forums all morning looking for a solution and have tried many things and nothing has worked yet. I have Windows 7 Pro. I use the Windows VM to run in XP mode so my small business programs will
operate correctly. This morning VM would not open. I click to open Windows VM, it take unusually long to attempt to open. After 5 or so minutes error message - Could not enable integration features with details stating . It gives me
an option to retry or continue. When I hit retry, it does so but the ending result is the same error message. When I click continue it states the operation has failed - the VM is not running.
What I HAVE tried-
-Reboot
-Clicked start>windows virtual pc>open windows virtual pc>right click settings
- From this point I have tried to shut down from the close option as well as uncheck enable integration features at start up. Status is in Hibernation and has not changed.
Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thank YouBob, I have read as much as I can find on this problem (Enabling Integration Features and having it remain enabled), and your responses are the most straight forward, complete and seem to have helped a number of others. So, I'm adding to this discussion,
instead of starting a new discussion, so that I can get YOUR response.
I am running Windows 7 Professional on a Dell Precision M6500 laptop with an Intel Core i7 processor and 8 Gb of memory. When I first setup the laptop I installed Windows Virtual PC and XP Mode, after downloading from the Microsoft.com
website. While the installation went without an error, getting to use it was a major, and long problem. I have one (very) old planner software app that I've been using since the mid 1980s. Being somewhat stubborn, I refused to change to a newer
app. So, I installed the app under XP Mode (it doesn't run under Windows 7) and it worked fine. I then tried to setup the printer and the Guest PCs drives (some USB). I followed the Microsoft instructions and suggestions I found in forums.
I finally gave up and called and paid for Microsoft tech support. Many weeks and we finally got it working - was able to print to my wireless printer from XP Mode and was able to backup my data to the Host PCs USB drives (I make three copies of the data
on a daily basis, so I actually have 21 copies of the data after a week). When we got it working I never had a problem with Enabling Integration Features, before it would disable Integration Features after I enabled them, repeatedly. Then a Windows
7 upgrade hung - 8 hours and the PC hadn't shut down. I powered off the PC and then powered back up. I got a blue screen error about CPU being too hot and the PC shut down. It was no hotter than usual. Powered up again and all seemed fine, until
I went to start XP Mode and my planner. XP Mode was trashed, wouldn't start. Tried to reinstall and still had the same problem. So, another call to Microsoft Tech support and another fee. Interestingly, the fellow that I worked with this
time as a level higher and knew the first tech I worked with. A few days and XP Mode was back running and the environment was actually as it had been when the PC crashed (the VHD file was still there and had my original environment - settings, programs,
printer and drive mappings - all in place, this file is in the same location as the VSV file).
Long winded background to my current, repeated problem. Integration Features will no longer stay enabled. While I don't recall a "crash" or "hung" PC, my notes are all in that planner app in XP Mode and I can't get to it. So,
I uninstalled VPC and XPM and reinstalled from scratch. Reinstalled my planner app, configured and tested my printer and host drives (didn't map them, just access them from My Computer). Suddenly (as I said, I can't recall anything going wrong to trigger
the repeat of this problem) Integration Features will not enable. I've deleted the VSV file and the problem still exists. Just "Shutdown" XP Mode and 50 Windows XP updates were installed. Then installed 48 updates. It worked for one afternoon and
evening. Booting the laptop this morning and Integration Features again is unstable. One more Windows update was installed. Then I followed your suggested steps:
Delete the" Windows XP Mode.vsv" file in the folder
C:\users\[your user name]\appdata\microsoft\Windows Virtual PC\Virtual Machines.
That should then allow XP Mode to start correctly.
Have you uninstalled, rebooted XP, and reinstalled the Integration Components? All of this occurs in XP Mode not on Win7.
1. Uninstall the Integration Components in XP Mode from Add/remove programs
2. Reboot XP Mode
3. Reinstall the Integration Components in XP Mode from WVPC menu.
The laptop is also in the same Workgroup as the Host PC and all the other PCs on my LAN.
Any suggestions?
Where can I find the following folders from XP Mode on the Host PC:
C:\Documents and Settings\All users\Documents
C:\Documents and Settings\XPMUser\My Documents
I created folders in both with the backed up data and programs from my planner app and would like to have access to them from the Host PC.
I'm just about at the point of abandoning XP Mode and looking for an alternative Virtual Machine app, just using Outlook, or getting the Outlook app from the original software provider of my planner app. All of these options are less
than ideal, but Microsoft's XP Mode has also become less than ideal.
TIA

Wireless router not working after Windows update
I have a WRT54G V.5 wireless router. Windows Vista Home Premium did an auto update. Now wired connection works, wireless does not. Asks for key, but when entered nothing happens. Diagnosis states action was canceled. I have disabled and enabled, does not fix. Any help will be appreciated!
Solved!
Go to Solution.Take not of the Wireless Settings(SSID and WEP/WPA Key) on your Router...
To know the Wireless Settings follow this link
Once you know the Wireless Settings attempt to connect to your Wireless Network...
XP :
Click on Start and goto the Control Panel and double click on Network Connections, right click on Wireless Network Connection and click on Properties.
Now on this window, click on the second tab Wireless Network and give a check mark on "Use windows to configure my wireless" and then remove all the network names present in the Preferred Networks Window. Then click on OK...
Right click on the Wireless Network Connection again and click on View Available Wireless Networks and try to re-connect to your network...
Now it will give you the opportunity to put the network/wep key, make sure you enter the correct network key and confirm it...
It will connect...
Vista :
Click Start >> Control Panel >> Network and Sharing Center >> Manage Wireless Networks, here remove all the networks present and close the Window...
Click on Connect to a Network and try to re-connect to your Network, it should ask for your Network Key/Password, enter the correct password/network key and click Connect...
It should connect...Once you are connected you should restart the computer, it should connect to Internet... -
Windows Live Messenger - Service not enabled on this device
Hi
Just got my BlackBerry Curve 8900 today, and firstly it won't let me install AppWorld? It's the most up to date software but it says "System requirements not met"
Also I managed to download Windows Live Messenger, but it won't let me sign in. When I try all it says is "This service is not enabled on this handheld".
I've used and installed AppWorld on my brothers phone which is the same, and with the same network; Vodafone. His works fine, am I doing something wrong?
Thank you very much!shroudedsoulz wrote:
did you get any support for this
im also having the same problem
Hi and Welcome to the Forums!!
I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB):
1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should check with your carrier to ensure that you have an adequate data service from them to enable the services you desire:
