Wireless key /password not working

So, I'm working away happily on my MBA when the internet drops off.  The Hub3 is glowing orange so I just switch over to the BTwifi to finish off sending my email.  By then the BB hub is all blue again so I go back to my own wifi service but no dice.
I go into network prefs and it asks for the password,  I put it in and it says it's the wrong one.  repeatedly.  I have tried every which way I can to connect, but it keeps rejecting my password.
I'm on an MBA running 10.7.5 if that's any help.
Thanks

were you able to connect to BTWIFI using you primary emal address and password?  when you go back to conenctiing to home network ssid did you use the password on the back of the hub - unless you changed it to something else

  • Wireless key will not work

    I just moved my mac mini to my new apartment and my wireless keyboard will not work. My man mini model is A1103. The problem is that I need to type in a password to get on my mac to get to the bluetooth config screen. So I'm stuck at the login screen with a keyboard that just blinks. Its also my TV so im goin nuts. PLZ help.

    If you know someone with an USB keyboard, borrow it and use it to input the password. It doesn't need to have been made by Apple or designed to be used with a Mac.

    I have Satellite 1410-303 system. I installed one broadcom802.11b/gwlan its working properly but I cannot off and on by fn-f8 key using. I want solve the problem.
    Can anybody offer a solution?

    There is a list of supported PnP-IDs in the registry under HKLM\Software\Toshiba\Wireless Hotkey.
    Look for the PnP-ID of your Wlan card in the device manager and overwrite one of those you don't need in the registry.

    Hello:
    If I understand you, the number one key works some places, but not others.  This is true of the wireless KB as well as the old wired KB.
    If I do understand, let us know.  If what is happening is different, post the correct information, please.

  • Function keys do not work on new wireless keyboard

    Hello....my good friend just bought a new iMac G5 2.1 spotlight model computer and has had troubles with his new wireless keyboard in that all 16 function keys do not work at all. Got any ideas or is it just a defective keyboard? He bought this at my recommendation so i am trying to make it all work smoothly for him. Would appreciate a quick response as he has now had this mac for 2 weeks and we cannot figure out the problem. Thanks in advance for any and all help

    I have no issues using the Apple BT keyboard. All function keys that apply to the iPad work correctly; display brightness, iPod app control, etc.
    Use the most recent version of iOS and also iTunes on your computer. Try a reset. Press & hold the Power and Home buttons together for 10+ seconds, ignoring the red power-off slider, until you see the Apple logo.
    If that  does not work, then restore the iPad to it factory settings.

  • The volume keys on my Logitech K760 wireless keyboard do not work with my 2.3 GHz, Intel Core i5 Mac mini which runs Mac OS X 10.7.4. Anyone know how to correct this without having to re-code firmware?

    My first post to the Apple Support Community so it looks like all I wanted to know is covered in the title. The research I have done led me to solutions that I am not comfortable trying for fear of irreparably damaging my keyboard and/or Mac mini. Does anyone have a simpler solution? Please? Hellooooo?
    Just in case the title is too long to show, I have re-pasted here:

    Thank you for the response. Unfortunately, I could not figure out how to work the above applications. I thought that i had managed to assign the appropriate function keys in Spark to their volume counterparts, but it had no effect. Below is a screen shot. Do you see anything amiss?

  • Fn key is not working on Apple compact wireless keyboard

    The fn key is not working on my Apple compact wireless keyboard. Keyboard Viewer shows the keyboard (incorrectly) as having a number pad but no fn key. How do I fix this? I'm running OSX 10.5.8.

    Unfortunately my old Mini does not have wireless capability. So I could not test the keyboard.
    I did however find two preferences files. I suggest you find them and trash them.
    Disconnect the keyboard first. Then find the two .plist files. They are:
    com.apple.KeyboardViewerServer.plist - this is in Users / yourself / Library / Preferences.
    The other is: com.apple.keyboardtype.plist - this is in Library (root level) / Preferences.
    After trashing both these, it's a good idea to restart the computer, and then once again pair the keyboard.

    Thanks for replying (thorvsphoenix)
    The windex was sprayed on the cloth, not the keyboard. And only one or two pumps on a hand towel. No liquid seeped between the keys the towel was barely damp. You are saying the ammonia gas created the problem?
    I think It was more an issue of multiple keys being depressed at the same time that screwed up the configuration. That is why I need to "reboot" the keyboard.

  • Function keys are not working correctly

    I've been looking all over the various threads and I can't find an answer that solves my problem.
    Here are the details:
    I bought the computer in the U.S. where I live.
    I have a iMac 2.4GHz intel Core 2 Duo  EMC 2133 with a 20" screen. Bought it new in February 2008.
    I have Mac OS X 10.5.8  (I am waiting for my order for OS Snow Leopard to come in!!)
    I have been using a wireless mouse and Keyboard (Love not having cords!)
    Recently, my wireless keyboard got a short and quit working. I went down to the apple store and got a new wireless keyboard.
    I had the computer with me at the genius bar so, yes, the apple employee saw exactly what I have.
    I took it all home got the thing all put back together and got the new keyboard paired up and working with the computer.
    Here are the problems:
    Went to go use the function keys while using iTunes and found they weren't working properly. The F10, F11 and F12 do not control the volume of sound as the keyboard indicates they would, they instead activate dashboard, spaces, and application windows.
    Following the advice of other threads, I looked over in the system preferences and made sure the "Use all F1, F2 etc." box was unchecked (it was unchecked), things still didn't work.
    I tried the fn key but it appears to not work at all it has no effect on the functioning of the function keys.
    I went under keyboard shortcuts in system preferences and found the F10, F11 and F12 keys, it confirms that those keys control spaces, dashboard and application windows as they are performing but shows no options to either reassign to volume control (as marked on the keyboard) or make the fn key work.
    I've gone back and forth trying various combinations of checked and unchecked boxes to see if anything would work, so far I've come up with nothing.
    A couple more important or interesting facts:
    Yes I have turned off and taken the batteries out of the old keyboard. My bluetooth connection currently shows it as disconnected.
    I have restarted the computer.
    One thing I find odd; when I go under preferences and go to Keyboard and Mouse when I go under the section "Bluetooth" it shows Bluetooth mouse with the name of the mouse and the battery level. BUT nothing is showing up under bluetooth Keyboard, I can't figure out how to change this and don't know if it is contributing to the problem.
    When I go under the bluetooth logo on the top bar I find the mouse and both keyboards referenced, the old keyboard is shown as disconnected and the other two are connected. I have tried to update the device's name but it doesn't seem to let me.
    I have double clicked on the device under bluetooth and it shows the new keyboard as discoverable, paired and connected. Hence, I am using the new keyboard to write this inquiry.
    Please, any assistance would be of great help. I have tried to be thorough in order help narrow the possible problem. Thanks!!

    Hendry
    Just thought I'd let you know.  Our suspicions were correct, it was the OS. After I installed Snow Leopard (10.6.8) all the problems were corrected.  I also updated the RAM from 1 gb to 6 gb. The mac is working all around better. Sorry it took so long to get back to everyone. My superdrive had pooped out. Rather than replace it I got an external drive from OWC connected with firewire 800.  So far everything is running very well, as far as I can tell this external drive is better than the original superdrive. My superdrive has always acted funny, infact I returned the first mac I got after a week because its superdrive was also malfunctioning. Anyway, all that to say everything seems to be fully functioning again.

  • The letter "u" on my iMac's wireless keyboard is not working.

    The letter "u" on my iMac's wireless keyboard is not working. Does anyone know how to fix this? All the other key are working fine.

    I started a having problems with it a few days ago. It worked intermittently then.

  • My Escape key is not working

    Hi,
    I am Meena.
    I am doing a project using NetBeans and MS-Access.
    When I run my project a internal framed named login loaded on the jdesktoppane which in JFrame.
    So in the login internal frame i used two buttons one for Sign-in and another for sign out.
    So I combined the Sign-in button with Enter key and Sign-out button with Escape key by the following coding.
    I wrote the following coding in LoginInternalFrame->properties->enabled->advanced->Generate PreIntialization Code.
    Action EscFromLogin=new AbstractAction()
    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e)
        jButton2.doClick();
    Action OkFromLogin=new AbstractAction()
        public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e)
           jButton1.doClick();
    getRootPane().getInputMap(jButton2.WHEN_IN_FOCUSED_WINDOW).put(KeyStroke.getKeyStroke(KeyEvent.VK_ESCAPE,0,false),"Esc_in_Login");
    getRootPane().getActionMap().put("Esc_in_Login",EscFromLogin);
    getRootPane().getInputMap(jButton1.WHEN_IN_FOCUSED_WINDOW).put(KeyStroke.getKeyStroke(KeyEvent.VK_ENTER,0,false),"Ok_in_Login");
    getRootPane().getActionMap().put("Ok_in_Login",OkFromLogin);In the above coding Enter key works well no problem.that is when I press the Enter key ,it combined with Sign-in button and works well.
    But when I press Escape key,it doesnot combined with Sign-off button.
    that is nothing is happening when I press Esc key.
    So i change the Escape key and test with F1 then F2 then F3 all are combined with Sign-off button and works well.But only the escape key is not working.
    But I have so many internal frames .In all internalframes my esc key works well.But not in the first inter frame(login internalframe)
    I couldnot understand the reason.
    Will you please help me to solve.
    Thank you so much.
    Meena

    mmm, i'm doing some tests and the case is working for me... The reason F1,F2 keys works while ESC don't is that some component is "eating" the ESC key. Probably your password textField, but it is not its default behaviour. For example, try to replace the textField with a FormattedTextField, write something into it and press ESC, this first ESC is consumed by the FormattedTextField, if you press ESC a second time the FormattedTextField not consume it, so the ESC keystroke processing is given to the rest of the componentes until one of they consume it (basically). So, how can you solve th problem? Try to determine which component is the "escape-eater". Once you detected it try to determine which properties are set and if this properties can alter the keyboard mapping. The problem can be difficult to repeat for us because the look and feel, java version, etc. can affect the system behaviour too. A global hook to ESC can also be the reason (maybe esc key it's not reaching ths components), try to override ProcessKeyBindings and log the results....

  • I have a Linksys WRV200 wireless router and the wireless signal is not working properly so I cannot connect to the internet wirelessly. the wireless light has a fast green blinking light. how can I fix the router?

    I have a Linksys WRV200 wireless router and the wireless signal is not working properly so I am unable to connect to the internet wirelessly.  The wireless light is blinking green very quickly and I connect and disconnect from the network constantly.  How do I get the router to work properly

    Hello James,
    The flashing WLAN light means activity (data getting transferred). Try disconnecting all your devices and check whether the light is still flashing or disconnect the router from internet and do the check.
    Do you have your SSID as linksys or the default one? If your neighbor has the same SSID, then traffic could result from your neighbor's one. Try changing your SSID and password. Make your security WPA/WPA2.
    Hope this helps,
    Thanks

    Any advice will be welcome. Thanks and cheers, Veit

    Great, it works.
    Let me replicate:
    Shift-Command-A (on the Desktop, (but how to get there?) to open Apps, e.g System Preferences;
    Arrow keys to navigate within Apps;
    Command-down arrow to open a specific app;
    Arrows to move around, e.g. to Magic Mouse
    Space to open Magic Mouse;
    Tab to move between options and arrows to change these; and Tab back to the back icon.
    Thanks a lot to both of you, much appreciated your help. Cheers, Veit
