Wireless keyboard and mighty mouse do not work with windows Vista

I have a new iMac core 2 duo 20" used by my granddaughter.
The drive has been partitioned using 50-50 with Boot Camp Assistant to form 2 250 GB partitions and windows Vista has been installed on one of them. The installation process runs smoothly as does the process when the OSX disc is installed for the relevant drivers for keyboard, mouse, isight camera etc. At the end of this process it is necessary to click a :"finish" button but at this point the mouse and keyboard have frozen and there is no other way of inputting information. Restarting in windows takes me to the log in page but there is no way to input the user name and proceed further.
Apple support has suggested hat I use a wired keyboard and mouse or call Microsoft support. Microsoft support have told me that they do not support Vista on a Mac.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

I had the same problem on the mac mini from my dad with windows XP.
I could install everything smoothly but when i wanted to connect the mighty mouse and a wireles apple keyboard i had the same problem.
I fixed this by using a mouse with cable and then add the keyboard and mouse via bluetooth in the configurationscreen. i had to do do this 6 times (the same thing) before it worked so maybe its the same in vista

As a temporary workaround, I believe this Adobe management page allows you to clear your "Flash cookies": [http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html Adobe - Flash Player : Settings Manager - Website Storage Settings panel] (hosted on macromedia.com -- Macromedia was the original developer of Flash).
Regarding the script error, if I'm reading the script correctly, it is related to accessing your Flash cookies directory. It seems the publisher's support forum is not currently available for searching, but that might be a good next step.
In the meantime, could you check whether the script has the correct location for your Flash cookies directory? If you can't access Tool > BetterPrivacy, you could check here:
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the filter box, type or paste '''bpr''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) There should be a bolded setting named '''extensions.bprivacy.DataDir''' which looks approximately like the following:
    C:\Users\''yourWindowsUsername''\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia
Do you have a similar value? If you paste the path used by BetterPrivacy into a Windows Explorer window, does it open? Also, click a couple levels in the folder, can you see:
    Flash Player \ #SharedObjects
If the value is wrong, right-click the wrong value and choose Reset. BetterPrivacy should update the value the next time you try to access it.
If the value is blank, you could try inserting a sensible value and see whether that helps.
    Any luck?

  • HP B500 Wireless Bluethooth Adapter for HP Printer Not Working With Windows 8.1

I have been using the HP BT500 bluetooth Wireless adapter to print wirelessly to my HP Officejet Pro 8500 printer.  I have been using Windows Vista, but recently upgraded to Windows 8.1.  I learned after the upgrade that the HP B500 wireless bluetooth adapter is not compatable with Windows 8.1.  I have attempted to find a driver upgrade for the B500, but there does not appear to be one available.  I have also searched the HP site and other sites in an attempt to locate an alter wireless blotth adapter to replace the B500, but have again been unable to locate one.
Is there a wireless bluetooth apter that will allow me to print wirelessly to my HP Office Pro 8500 from my laptop?

    Hi @Raider83,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I noticed that your HP B500 wireless bluetooth adapter for your HP Officejet 8500 is not working with Windows 8.1. I am sorry to hear this but happy to look into this for you!
I am not sure if you are using a 32-bit or 64-bit Operating System. But sometimes with Windows 8.1 you can use compatibility mode to install an older version of the driver. Which might help the situation. Here is a link to some other Windows drivers, HP bt500 Bluetooth USB 2.0 Wireless Adapter Drivers.
Once you got a driver downloaded, follow this guide, Make older programs compatible with this version of Windows, on how to install it using compatibility mode.  It is not guaranteed to work, but it is worth a try!
If you still need me to look for other bluetooth adapters, please respond with your printer's Product/Model Number. To find your printer's Product/Model Number follow instructions in this link. Finding Your HP Product Model Number. As there are multiple HP Officejet 8500 printers.
Thank you for posting, and have a nice day!

  • Brightness and volume control keys not working with windows 7?

brightness, volume control and some other keys keys are not working with windows 7 with macbook pro retina. Can I fix it?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Have you installed Boot Camp drivers? You need them to make your computer work properly on Windows, and to use your function keys as Play or Pause, volume and brightness keys.
To install them, follow these steps:
    1. Press the X key while your Mac is starting to start into OS X.
    2. Open Boot Camp Assistant and tick only the option to download Windows support software.
    3. Windows support software will be downloaded and Boot Camp Assistant will ask you to burn it into a DVD or USB drive, so do it.
    4. Start into Windows, insert the DVD or USB drive and install Boot Camp drivers. Your Mac and your volume and brightness keys will be working after installing the drivers

  • Help with Wireless Keyboard and Mighty Mouse please!

Hello. I own the wireless Mighty Mouse as well as the wireless keyboard for Mac, and while ago I set them up to work on my Mac, but I don't use them very much so I want to give them to my parents for their Mac. The thing is, I forgot how to set it up or install it or whatever. Can anyone tell me how to get the wireless mouse and keyboard to work, or what the install process is for them? Was there a CD that came with them that I need to install drivers with or something? Anyways, I have the mouse and keyboard sitting up here next to this computer, and I've turned them on with the switches on the back, but they're not working. What do I do next? Thank you!
    -- Andrew

    Solution
Turn your Bluetooth keyboard and/or mouse off for 30 seconds, then back on.
If the keyboard or mouse doesn't respond, or if an alert message appears again:
Connect a USB keyboard or mouse.
Open Bluetooth preferences (choose System Preferences from the Apple menu, then click Bluetooth).
Verify that Bluetooth is turned on. (You can also do this with the Bluetooth menu bar item, if enabled).
Pair the keyboard or mouse by setting it up as a new device.

  • Apple Wireless Keyboard and Mighty Mouse

I've seen several posts about the new Apple Wireless Keyboard losing connection. After searching through the forums trying to find what I have discovered, I've decided to start a new thread. Basically, I've found a way to reproduce the "random" disconnects of the keyboard.
Open up your favorite text editor, create a new blank document, and strike the 'Return' key with some force. Shortly after doing so, you will notice your green light come on, and a brief connection lost message on your Mac. Seconds later, your connection will reestablish. Perhaps I have some sort of faulty keyboard, and this just happens to have the same symptoms that other people are experiencing, however, I'd like to see if any others have the issue. Of course, it is most likely not just the 'Return' key. Really any keystroke with some force behind it will cause the keyboard to temporarily shut off and lose connection.
An annoyance that brought me to really find a solution for this issue is that after my keyboard reestablishes its connection, my Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse starts to have issues. The movement along the screen begins to get choppy, and clicks are not always registered correctly, much like if there were some major Bluetooth interference with the device. The momentary disconnect I can deal with, because it has little to no effect on my typing. But when it also messes with my mouse, causing me to have to turn it off and on again, it does cause some considerable downtime.
Does anyone else notice this phenomenon? Also, if this is already being discussed, please point me to the appropriate thread.

I have the exact problems with the original poster. The keyboard I think by now is a given, as I'm typing now with the USB connected keyboard I can see the Bluetooth icon intermittently flashing in & out with that little lightening bolt & I have it off?? Why would it still register connections if I turned it off??
What I don't get is the Apple tech guys are normally really good at saying, "Ok here's the problem, we're on it or heres this fix" & I've notice no type of response, except the usual, "Run script, login on a dummy account or get Cocktail or Onyx" after reading several posts on this same subject all the "go too" answers have been tried.
C'mon Apple tech fix this problem already!!

  • Wow...Iphone does not work with Windows Vista 64 bit

Preamble: Please spare me the bitchy comments about my being an idiot for using a PC. I give Steve plenty of money with 4 purchased Ipods, accesories, and a behemoth Itunes account. PC is fine for me and I like to spread the love.
    Sooo, here it is...
Incredible, and I can't believe the media has not caught onto this yet as this problem must be the biggest complaint to date. Apple support has confirmed that they are now (after getting thousands of calls this weekend) realizing that even they were caught off guard in the iphone not being compatible with Vista 64bit. As the majority (from what I have seen - with the exception of cheaper line Dells)of PC's shipping over the past few months have the 64 bit version installed this may be a huge blunder on Apple's part. I purchased two phones and spent the weekend uninstalling and reinstalling itunes (per the error message and the instructions of support) before it was realized by Sunday that it doesn't work. Updates? The one person at apple support told me it could be weeks. Back to the store for a return and an argument over the 10% restocking fee.

Actually OS X has a larger population of users (over
Vista but not WinXP) if you look at
    licensed/registered accounts. Various browser sites
that log OS type hits would also bare out this
information. Not many folks have adopted Vista over
WinXP, and even fewer have installed 64bit version of
Vista due to lack of driver support and compatibility
    with existing Windows based applications/games.
Having said that, get a Mac and install Boot Camp to
run WinXP or Vista and also get fully integrated
    iPhone support with your Mac.
Look up the actual sales numbers for Vista, think
you'll be surprised -- your actually the minority not
    the majority.
Vista sales are well below expectation -- Microsoft's
stock is taking a beating while Apple's stock is
taking off. But to solve your issues, I suggest you
run the Windows version of iPhone software in 32bit
compatibility mode -- this should solve it.
    Rob.
To say that there are more OS X users than Vista is false. That's what you believe and want everyone else to believe.
I agree it has problems but like the iPhone they will be addressed.
