Wireless keyboard for L4300

We would like to hook up a wireless keyboard to our 50L4300U however can't find any information about this.
What keyboards will work? Will a wireless logitech work or does this need to be Toshiba?
If so, what Part number and where can I buy one?
Thanks!

my iMac keeps typing a minus sign. I switched my wireless keyboard for a plug in Windows keyboard, and it keeps typing this one character. I took the batteries out of the Mac keyboard, so that is not the problem. I am running Mac OS X 10.6.8. In parallels, I don't have any problem, just on the Mac platform.

Thanks for your observation. I realize they are different versions, but when I use the "Software Update" menu, this is as far as it would update. Is there some way to update the iMac beyond what "Software Update" does? I've tried it several times.
    Please Note.
Upgrading OSX 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) to 10.8.3 (Mountain Lion) is not an update. It is a paid upgrade. Just as with 10.7 (Lion) you must purchase it from the App Store with yor Apple ID and install it after backing up your current computer state for safety.

  • HT2452 just got a replacement wireless keyboard for imac but comp doesn't recognize it and won't connect. can't type or use it. any suggestions?

Just got a relpacement wireless keyboard for my imac but the computer won't recognize it and b/c i can't use the keyboard (type) there's little troubleshooting i can do. how do i reconnect this? thanks!

You may need a wired keyboard to carry out some of these steps. It's a good idea to keep a cheap wired keyboard and mouse or trackball as backups for a desktop Mac anyway, because Bluetooth isn't completely reliable.
    Step 1
Follow the instructions in these support articles:
How to set up your Apple Wireless Keyboard
Apple Wireless Keyboard: Difficulty during pairing process
    Step 2
The keyboard should pair automatically when you reboot. You may have to press and hold the power button on the right side of an Apple keyboard until the LED starts flashing.
    Step 3
    Reset the System Management Controller.
    Step 4
    Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Reboot.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combinationcommand-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Step 5
    See these support articles:
Bluetooth keyboard may not pair during Setup Assistant
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth: Potential sources of wireless interference
Bluetooth: Unreliable wireless performance may occur when USB 3.0 external devices are close
    Step 6
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider.

I have a wireless keyboard for my ipad and it says to charge it connect it to my pc.  can i charge it by connecting it to my ipad?

No. The iPad's port won't put out enough power. You could probably plug your keyboard into your iPad charger and charge it that way, but it won't charge off the iPad.

Have you tried to go into bluetooth and telling it to forget your keyboard?
Drastic but might enable you to repair the devices and see if it clears up the glitch.
I had a period of time when my iPad always sensed and used my bluetooth keyboard. I think it finally went away after I powered down the iPad. (not just a put to sleep, a bonafide 'slide the red slider to shut it down' powering down.

  • I have bought the wireless keyboard for my iPad.  I was working for a day but now the power light won't stay on and as such won't connect to the iPad.  I have changed the batteries but still no difference.

Not knowing which wireless keyboard you bought, it is difficult to be specific.  but ...
it is quite normal for the keyboard's power light not to stay on - it is a way of conserving battery power.
    Try this:
    turn you keyboard off
on your iPad go to Settings > Bluetooth
if your keyboard is listed under Devices, then touch the little blue i to its right and choose Forget this Device
now reset your iPad:  hold both the Home and Power buttons down for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears, let go promptly when the Apple logo appears and wait another 30 seconds for your iPad to turn itself on
After your iPad is back on again go back to Settings > Bluetooth
now turn your keyboard back on and see if it appeard under Now Discoverable
if it doesn't read your keyboard guide to figure out how to put it into Discovery mode
touch the listing for your keyboard under Now Discoverable, it should now appear under Devices
touch the listing for you keyboard under Devices, and choose to pair with it.

  • Wireless keyboard for Palm TX and Adobe reader update?

I am considering purchasing a wireless keyboard for a Palm TX. Will the 3169WW work? If purchased new, what driver will it come with ( what driver do I need?). How universal is this keyboard? I have Adobe Reader 3.05 on the TX. Should I be looking for a newer version. Thank You!
    Post relates to: Palm TX

I just deployed a "new (!) TX and the Palm Bluetooth Keyboard, after years of using the Tungsten T3.  For the most part I'm happy with both.  There's just a little downside to the keyboard, that is, the lack of a key combination to duplicate the Graffiti stroke that involkes shortcuts (these are the mostly custom texts that you set up in Prefs to insert by making the stroke followed by just one or two or three characters).  On the Ultrathin Keyboard, which I used with the T3, the fn-ctrl combination made the shortcut stroke on the screen, after which I could type (for example) "dts," which would insert a date and time stamp.  I think the Palm infrared wireless keyboard does the same thing.  If there is such a functionality on the BT keyboard, it's not documented and I cannot find it.  (I suspect that it may have been left out because it may be mostly used with smartphones, Treo series etc., which have the hardware keyboards and so dispense with Graffiti, but I use the Graffiti shortcuts a lot, so this omission makes me a somewhat unhappy camper.  If anyone has discovered a way to invoke this function on the BT keyboard, I would be very interested.)

  • Can not locate wireless keyboard for my iPad

My wireless keyboard for my ipad is no longer displayed on the screen that the Bluetooth app is.
    I have tried everything.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

Do you mean that when you go into Settings > Bluetooth > your wireless keyboard is not listed under devices?
    If so:
make sure your keyboard is charged.
turn your keyboard off,  reset your iPad, turn the keyboard back on, see if it shows up, put it in discovery mode see if it shows up
    to reset your iPad:
Hold both the Home button and the Power button down for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
Let go promptly when it appears.
Wait 30 seconds or so for your iPad to restart.
No information or settings will be lost.

Hi all just to let you know I was able to sort my little problem regarding installing new software and also the Nokia Wireless Keyboard to my N90. It has something to do witht the dates. If I have the phone set at 2007 then I cannot install any of the original sfotware that you can download from the Nokia Website. But if I change my date to 2006 or 2005 I can install them with no problem at all. I have only experienced this since I have updated my firmware to the latest version.

  • Compatible Wireless Keyboard for Lenovo w530

Hi, I want to buy a wireless Keyboard for my Lenovo W530. I've pre-installed windows 8 and Ubuntu 12.04. I need to use that keyboard in both operating systems. Please suggest some. I already have wireless logitech mouse and it works fine. with regards, Ritam

    Hi there.
Do be VERY careful about acquiring/using a keyboard from a different system.  You absolutely MUST look up the parts description for each machine and identify the keyboard FRU (Field Replaceable Unit) number.
If they are identical then.... ok... no problem!
If they are DIFFERENT then..... DON'T DO IT! They may look identical but they will have something... somewhere.... different!!!! It may be just a screw hole in a different place but it might also be a completely different ribbon cable configuration!!
The C100 keyboard FRU list (different languages) is at
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-63044
while the N500 list is at
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-70943
I see the US English FRU is 42T3403 for C100 but 34T7417 for the N500! QED....don't do it! Not compatible!

  • How do I set shortcuts on my new onn wireless keyboard for volume control?

    Replacement Keyboard
Volume control issue with a non- Apple Keyboard
    [Sunday - July 29, 2012 - 2:18pm]
Question:     I just purchased a new keyboard in place of the orginal for my iMac which gave out this morning. The brand name of the keyboard is
ONN & it's a wireless board. I've encountered an issue that is a deal breaker - if there is no possible way to correct it. The volume control buttons used to
increase/decrease/mute the volume do not work on this product. I bough this keyboard because it was one of the two that was Mac compatable at my
local store. I realize you get what you pay for but hope there is a soulution!
**Sidenote: I was curious, anyone had any other issues with these keyboards?
    Some additional information:
When I woke up this morning, sat down in my computer chair, turned on my iMac and pulled up Textedit. I placed my hands on my faithful keyboard and within moments I realized that it had met it's end. I was quite upset that my original, sleek white iMac keyboard was now a thng of the past but realized that I'd need a replacement very soon in order to get my paperwork done.
Unfortunately, I did not have time to ride forty-five minutes to my local Apple store and I didn't neccesarily want to hand over the cash for one of the pricey keyboards at the time because I am going on a vacation within the next few weeks and each dime counts. So, I decided to visit a store that obviously would have the cheapeast deals in the meantime. So, I headed to to Wal-Mart to make a quick purchase
As I walked the aisles it soon became evident that today's market still is not on point when it comes to having Apple compatable hardware, softwore or anything for that matter. As I quickly skimmed the keyboards I ran across several that caught my eye, but of course, they were all made specifically for Windows. So, finally I approcahed two keyboards that were Mac compatible. The first was way too large and came with a mouse, which I did not need. The second caught my eye and I knew that this would be my purchase.:::
The verdict: an onn wireless keyboard that was both affordable and also gave off a sleek and modern apperance. (Retailed: $24.00)
So, I got home and began using the board. For the first how I was actuallly very satisfied. I like the buttons and the feel of the board. Then, I encountered a problem that made my interested for the new keyboard vanish.
The Issue:  On the boards layout, the (F2) key has a symbol that notates the decrease volume control button, (F3) of course would be the increase volume button & lastly the (F4) button represents the [mute] button.
However, these buttons don't work. Sadly, I am not aware of how I could possibly change this issue or if it would even be possible. I sincerely hope that it's possible - because I like the convience of the volume control keys - they were actually my favorite part of the keyboard. Manually changing the volume by going through system preferences does not sound fun to me once so ever. I guess you could call me spoiled but I don't think I can even keep this board if it doesn't have the ability to change volume/mute via the keyboard.
This is a shame because the keyboard it'self isn't bad at all and I actually somewhat like it. So, if you have any information or an answer to this question - I'd truly appreciate hearing your responses! Also, do keep in mind I am a rookie when it comes to computers as a whole so try to simplicate things for me if that is nessecary.
Closing negative note on this keyboard: As I typed this I started encountering a very annoying problem. As I am typing in a line, forming a sentence the keyboard would randomly start typing in pargraphs above and below as well. I'm not sure if this is something that I caused by pressing too hard with my hands or if this is a deffect. Either way, I will saving my receipt and the boxing for this product until I hear further news.
I hope to hear from you soon and I appreciate your help very much.
    Have a great day,

where is the hyperlink for your information ?
This PDF link has a good explanation of BT profiles:
    https://techtrain.samsungwireless.com/tekweb/Misc/Main/Accessories/Bluetooth_Pro files.pdf
The HID profile is the one needed for keyboard connection, and isn't included in iPhone 3.0 OS
where do you know, that this is not in the new os 3.0 ?
I know, because I have been using all the 3.0 betas. If you read the latest Apple site page listing the new 3.0 features, you won't see it there. Only stereo audio (A2DP) with audio/video remote control (AVRCP) were added.

  • Wireless keyboard for FCP

    Hello,
    I have just upgraded to a G5 Dual 1.8.
I need to buy wireless keyboard mouse.
    FCP is my main Application
Is there any recommendation regarding a keyboard for this sort of usage?
Any links to reviews of such?
    Thanks!

I use the older Apple wireless keyboard with Logic Keycaps installed It works great. I have also noticed that the local Apple store carries FCP skins for their new keyboards, but I don't know how they would work with the new wireless ones because the new mac wireless keyboards that I have seen are not full keyboards.. The wireless mighty mouse works great. It actually works better than any other bluetooth mouse I have seen. I would prefer a more conventional form factor though.
    Hope this helps.
    Best regards,
