Wireless Keyboard, hitting enter to send a text

Hey Everyone,
This is my first time posting here and I have not seen anything related to this question.  If I missed it, could you please direct me to the relevant thread?  I purchased an apple wireless keyboard to use with my iPhone 5 because my job requires a lot of texting.  I was wondering if there is any way to make it so that when I hit return (or enter) it would send the message as opposed to returning down to the next line.  I have not been successful in trying to do this and would love to know if anyone else has any ideas.  Thanks in advance for your help!
Trevor

  • When I type a message on my wireless keyboard, in a chat room, when I hit enter to send it, it does not go...any ideas or help. I am wondering if somehow I have locked it, but not sure if I did...how to unlock it

When I type a message in a chat room, on my wireless keyboard, hit enter to post it, nothing happens. I am not sure if somehow I have inadvertently locked the keyboard...and if I did...how do I unlock it!!

I don't think you can lock your keyboard, but then again, I've been known to be wrong
see if your wireless keyboard has become unpaired (I'm assuming here, that it's bluetooth).
Make sure that the keyboard's batteries are okay, and that the power switch (if the keyboard has on) has been turned on, then go into Bluetooth preferences, and make sure your keyboard is discoverable, pairable and a favorite, and that Bluetooth is turned on. Re-pair the device with your iMac and it should respond. If not, you may have to delete it from the Bluetooth, add it again, and re-pair it, if that makes any sense to you. Sounds like you may also have some lag in replying in your chat room, maybe the chat program you are using might have a preference or two??

  • Can't hit enter to send message

Hi, I am using windows 8.1, and skype install from microsoft store.Recently (like in a week), I found out that I can't hit enter to send my message. Also, there is not any buttom to send. Thus, I can't send out any IM through the skype. However, I can receive message, video/voice call.  I tried to reinstall it, restart my computer, but it didn't work out. Can anyone help me with that? Thank youDK

I have the same problem. Just bought the Microsoft Surface RT and it came with Skype already. At first, when I tried to sign in, it was giving me an error, so I had to uninstall it, and install it again. When I finally made the app work, I tried sending a message, and the ENTER button did not work. There is no settings or anything that lets you send the message. I was starting to hate my new tablet and got frustrated because of this, but it seems like it's only not working on Skype.

  • Using keypad on wireless keyboard to enter passwords won't work in safari

I have an iMac and I am using an apple wireless keyboard. Whenever I try and type in a password that has numbers in it and I use the keypad, the password is not recognized. I do not have the mouse function turned on. The keypad works fine in all other programs even in other fields in Safari. Just doesn't work for password entry. It will work in Firefox however.
    Any thoughts?

Quit Safari. Disable bookmark synchronization, if applicable.
Hold down the option key and select Go ▹ Go to Folder… from the Finder menu bar. Copy the following line into the text box that opens, then press return:
    ~/LibrarySafari/Bookmarks.plist
Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the Finder window open. Relaunch Safari. Select File ▹ Import Bookmarks from the Safari menu bar. Import from the bookmarks file you moved to the Desktop. Test. If Safari now performs normally, you can delete the old bookmarks file. Otherwise, quit Safari again and put back the file you moved, replacing the newer one with the same name. Close the Finder window and post again.

  • MS Wireless keyboard 2000 & Entering BIOS access

This keyboard is not allowing access to the BIOS setup screen on my system. The MSI motherboard BIOS is compatible with USB keyboards to allow access, but I am wondering what I must change in the BIOS to have this MS keyboard able to be recognized by pre
BIOS screen so that the DEL key opens the BIOS. The keyboard does not seem to be available to open the F8 safe mode screen list either. Which is related to boot up hardware list access I'm sure
Am I going to have to borrow a PS/2 board and connect it to my machine and go into the BIOS and look for an option generally called Legacy USB support  to allow this Wireless USB keyboard to work in the BIOS screen, as well as open a BIOS and safe mode
    screen.
Strange Device Manager connection related possibly to above.
I also have a strange device manager issue with the mouse and keyboard devices. After opening device manager, I choose show hidden devices and in the mouse and keyboard devices I keep getting a return device installation from a Standard PS/2 Keyboard &
Microsoft PS/2 Mouse. Though I have never had these 2 devices because I always have used USB, but they keep returning with yellow exclaimation icons and the error code...
This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24)
If I uninstall them both, they re-return, once I have checked to show hidden devices in view screen.
Is this occuring because the BIOS makes record of possible PS/2 devices and hands the info off to WIndows 7 which falsely adds them to device manager before installing the actual installed hardware mouse and keyboard devices. These 2 PS/2 devices that keep
returning have no effect on system and removing them does not cause either to stop working, but they should not be even awaken if there are no such device on the sysem. It keeps seeming to point me back to a setting in BIOS (which I can't access at this time)
that is possibly telling BIOS to make a spot for the devices and Windows 7 op system does this without notice, but places them on the hidden devices instead of throwing out the BIOS handed over information.

    Hi,
Did it work fine before? Have you tried to change another USB keyboard for test?
Yes, like you mentioned, you might need a PS/2 keyboard to get into the BIOS and enable the USB:
How do I access my computer's Setup (BIOS) and enable the USB port in Windows?

Meanwhile, remove this device and reinstall it and its driver.

  • Omni 27 wireless keyboard Problem enters letters w/o being pressed

Hi. My keyboard's gone berserk. I press down anyone key, and the 'T' letter gets entered so many times in a row, I couldn't count them. Backspace key won't function. I shut down computer, but when restarted, I can't enter my PW, because I try 1 letter & then keyboard just starts entering many (can't tell exact letter/number because the PW entering box doesn't show.) I replaced batteries in keyboard, didn't resolve. I called nearest HP authorized support location, they said they didn't have parts. Can't locate a phone number to call HP technical support. I really need to use my computer! Thanks in advance for any advice!

    Hi There,
No worries about responding.  We removed a wierd program from my computer (using his keyboard), then my keyboard had many keys non-responsive.  I'll buy another one.  Just didn't want y'all to waste your time!  Best o Luck!

  • Assigning SEND key to Apple Wireless Keyboard for messages?

Does anyone know whether you can assign a "Send" key on the Apple Wireless Keyboard so I can send text messages and email without having to touch the iPhone's "Send" button? There's no info in the manual. I'm handicapped and have difficulty working the phone's dinky key layout, and bought the keyboard to help me send text messages. Kinda defeats the purpose if I have to then Send the message from the iPhone, not the keyboard . . .

I believe you can use VoiceOver in combination with your keyboard to do what you want. Settings>General>Accessibility>VoiceOver>On.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3598
Essentially when in VoiceOver, you use the arrow keys and space bar while holding down the control and option keys to select and tap what you need.

  • Is it possible to use the Apple wireless keyboard with the iPhone 6? Will the Magic Mouse work with iMovie on iPhone6 Plus?

iPhone 6 page says that iMovie is a (free) application available for iPhone 6. When I use it on the desktop I need a mouse. Should I expect all controls to be touch-sensitive, or is it possible to use the wireless Magic Mouse? Similarly, if I want to type an email or a long document, is it possible to use the Mac wireless keyboard to enter text? With the iPhone 6 Plus taking over for laptops (phablet), it seems to me that input tools are relevant. Maybe what I'm asking is whether the iPhone6 (OS8) has drivers for these devices. Please advise.

Apps that are designed for iOS devices such as the iOS version of iMovie are intended to be used entirely by touch. It's worth noting that iMovie for iOS is not absolutely identical to iMovie for Mac OS.

  • What are the functions of all the keys on my (not wireless) keyboard?

what are the functions of all the keys on the (non wireless) keyboard?

System Preferences > Language and Text > Input Sources tab. Top of the left column, tick (check) "Keyboard and Character Viewer", Bottom of window next to search field, tick "Show input menu in menu bar"
System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard tab; tick "show keyboard and character viewers in menu bar"
If you open Keyboard Viewer and press the alt (option) key, the location of the diacritical marks and common symbols will be revealed. Note that five of them are highlighted in orange; these are the ones which can be used with multiple  letters (acute, umlaut, gràve, circumflex and tilde)
    Shift+Alt will show more.

  • Solution to aluminum wireless keyboard with D-Link DBT-122 on Win XP

On several forums I found a lot of people haveing the same problem I had; the D-Link DBT-122 drivers would ask to enter the pairing key but showed a greyed box so we don't know what numbers to enter. I tried all the tips like changing settings in the registry, changing the drivers, using Microsoft drivers, etc. but nothing worked.
    What did work:
I paired the keyboard with a computer with a different Bluetooth adapter (in this case an Mac running WinXP). I selected to let the driver choose a key for me, wrote it down, enter the key on the keyboard and it paired successfully. I turned off the keyboard (hold the power button about 10 seconds) and removed it from the bluetooth devices on this computer.
Now on the computer with the D-Link DBT-122 adapter; I plugged a standard USB keyboard, started the pairing process, turned on the Wireless keyboard, and entered the pairing key using the USB keyboard to enter the numbers (must be fast; was not fast enough on the first try) and at the end pressing Enter on the wireless keyboard.
I then used the Microsoft utility "remapkey.exe" from the "Microsoft Windows Resource Kit Tools" to put the Delete key on the right command button so I would be able to log in using Ctrl-Alt-Del.
    Voil

I tried to do what you described in this post but it does NOT work. I have a D-Link DBT-122 and Win XP running on a PC and the wireless keyboard.
I type the code in the grey field with an USB keyboard and then I do the same with the wireless one and press "Enter" but it does NOT work.
Did you miss a step in your description?

  • I'm trying to send a message from my new MacBook Air, I can type the message but when I hit enter the message does not go?

I'm trying to send a text message from my new MacBook Air, I can type the message but when I hit enter the message does not go.

Have you addressed the message to someone?  Is that address capable of receiving text messages?
What happens when you hit enter?

  • Cannot press enter after passkey to pair wireless keyboard on restarting iMac as enter was remapped

My wireless keyboard needed new batteries, when I replaced them it wouldn't repair so I rebooted the iMac as it said in another thread. When prompted for passkey I cannot press return/enter as previously it stopped working and I remapped R shift as enter- which I presume only operates if the system is paired?
Any help please to repair keyboard?

Connected a wired keyboard but when trying to pair the wireless keyboard it still wont pair as hitting R shift ( remapped as enter) is not accepted.
Hitting enter/retunt doesnt do anything either
    Any ideas anyone??

  • I cannot get my text to advance to the next line when hitting enter???

I cannot get my text to advance to the next line when hitting enter.
    Any suggestions??

When I open Keyboard Shortcuts, the name field under Set: is highlighted in dark blue.  I cannot type a name in it.  The button NEW SET remains ungray.  When I click on the button no change happens to allow me to create new set.
I also noticed that I am unable to scroll down in the InDesign document using scroll off mouse.
So I have to click and drag to get around not using the up/down arrows when moving the illustrations.
If I have to enter text I will use storybook.
If I have to delete text I will use the InDesign document.
Very limited with the functionality - I was better off using Adobe InDesign 2.0!
Will need more time to investigate why the keyboard and mouse are not being recognized.  At this time I will have to use the work-arounds to meet deadlines and revisit later.

You cannot connect the mouse.  This is not a feature of iphone
You can learn about connecting a keyboard in the manual:
