Wireless Keyboard/iPod Touch Pairing Problem...

I cannot "discover" my Wireless Apple (2009) keyboard on my iPod Touch (32G).  They simply do not show up under the Devices section in my iPod Touch.  I have unpaired them from my MacBook Pro and retraced all steps.  I have read that it is possible, but I am not sure what I am missing.  Please, any suggestions?

Per the following article it should work.
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4112
Are yu follwing the instructions in the Users Guide?  Here they are:
Pair an Apple Wireless Keyboard with iPod touch:
1 In Settings, choose General > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth on.
2 Press the power button on the Apple Wireless Keyboard to turn it on.
3 On iPod touch, select the keyboard listed under Devices.
4 Type the passkey on the keyboard as instructed, then press Return.
Note:  You can pair only one Apple Wireless Keyboard with iPod touch at a time. To pair
a different keyboard, you must first unpair the current one.
- Do you have any other BT devices like headphones to try?
- Is the light on the keyboard flashing when you try to pair?

Does it work when paired to another device?
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • IPad and wireless keyboard do not pair any more

I always had (minor) problems, wehn vonnecting iPad and keyboard. But now iPad and wireless keyboard do not pair at all. Tried 15-20 times, fresh batteries, switched on an off, tried manually - nothing. I noticed that the green LED of the keyboard shines just for about 3 seconds when I switch on - but this has always been like that before. Latest OS of course. Who can help, please?

I just lost my Wireless kbd Bluetooth connection twice recently. And found the following solution:
    1. Delete the kbd from Bluetooth system prefs.
    2. Shut down the kbd
    3. In system prefs, keyboard choose "Configure Bluetooth keyboard..." at the bottom
    4. Press the power button on the kbd until the green LED blinks, kbd gets detected
    5. Switch OFF the kbd
    6. Click "Continue"
    7. Power on the kbd as described in 4.
    8. Kbd gets paired, enter the digit code and Enter
    9. Go to system prefs, Bluetooth and add the kbd as a favorite
That did it for me. Hope it works for you, too.

  • Ipod touch pairing mobile, will it work like a wireless headset even I use wired earphones?

  • IPod Touch having problems w/ Bluetooth playback

I've had a pair of Sony DR BT21G Bluetooth headphones for a year or two, and been very happy with them.  I've used them on my iPhone 3GS, my Macbook, my Droid X, an iPad, and now I'm primarily using them on an iPod Touch 4g.
I've found that when I use them on the iPod touch, I have major interference issues.  If I'm walking while playing, the music constantly cuts out.  If I put it in my pocket, forget about it - it's unlistenable.  If I carry it, it's usually okay, especially if I hold the device at chest height or higher.
This is not the way Bluetooth is meant to work... I thought my headset was acting up, until I paired it back to my Droid X and couldn't force interference to save my life.
So is my iPod Touch faulty?  I think I still have a few months left on my Applecare plan for this little guy...
Does anyone else have this kind of troubled playback with an iPod Touch using Bluetooth?

I have had a similar problem. I got an iPod touch for my birthday. One of the main reasons I wanted it was to use it with my Bluetooth motorbike helmet so that I could listen to music wirelessly on my way to work. It worked perfectly to start with but has now stated skipping. When the music cuts back in it often speeds up to catch up with itself as well which is really annoying. Some days it works ok and only skips occasionally and other days it is completely hopeless. I read somewhere that switching off WiFi could help free up some memory and help with this problem but it didn't work for me. I have also tried removing the helmet from my devices and then re-pairing it but that did no good either. Otherwise I can't find any other suggestions except that it might be a loose wire in either the transmitter or reciever. Does anyone know if this is likely? My helmet works fine with my phone so that would imply that the problem lies with my iPod.
This is the first time I have had an Apple product and although I like many of the features this is really making me doubt the quality of the hardware. I have also heard that getting help from an Apple store is like getting blood out of a stone so I'd really like not to have to mess about with that. If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it. I'm a total novice with this sort of thing so I was expecting to find a very simple answer on the internet but no luck so far. If you manage to get yours working Drew it would be great if you could let me know how you did it.
    Thanks a lot everyone!

  • Wireless keyboard doesn't pair and blinks instead

I have a wireless keyboard (about a year old) which suddenly stopped working today. When I try to pair it as a device, it shows up in the list of available keyboards, but when I enter the key, nothing happens. Instead, the keyboard blinks twice in short periods of time after switching it on. I didn't find anything about such a problem, so any pointers? And yes, I tried exchanging the batteries with some fresh ones. Buying a new one or contacting the Apple support, what's the better option here?
    Cheers, Mathias

As far as I can see mostly Keyboards between Oct and Dec 2004 are involved. I would appreciate if Apple could have a careful look on this issue and take resp. actions as e.g. an extented repair or replacement program!

  • Wireless Keyboard for Touch Phones

Why not nokia should introduce wireless mini keyboard for touch phones?
If you like my post or think it was useful then please hit the star button. Thanks :-)

Here's what I've noticed:  I used to use a keyboard with my T5.  The keyboard setup screens on the T5 and Centro look about the same and both have a ON/OFF "button" the user must click on to activate the keyboard software in the Palm.  I suppose the user could always leave the keyboard software ON, but I'm in the habit of turning things off when not in use.  If the Centro user has already paired the keyboard and Centro, and if the user has turned OFF the keyboard software in the Centro, a Bluetooth pairing screen appears when the keyboard software is turned ON for the next use.  This requires the user to search and pair the devices again.  However, if the user does NOT turn the keyboard software off, or if the Centro's power saving shutoff occurs after being idle for a while, the pairing seems to be remembered when turning the Centro back on.  I haven't tested this for "long" periods of being idle or OFF, nor have I tested this after folding up the keyboard.  There doesn't appear to be any ON/OFF button on the keyboard itself, which seems strange.  I don't know if the keyboard just times out when it realizes it's not communicating with another Bluetooth device after a while or what.  I've only used the keyboard briefly so I'll learn more with time.

  • Wireless keyboard and Touch Pro 2?

I think that the Apple Wireless Keyboard and the HTC Touch Pro 2 are an ideal match, they both look great and the Apple is the right size to transport. They even pair up via Bluetooth.
Unfortunately, I can't seem to type anything with the keyboard - I assume I need a driver. Has anyone had any success in getting them to work?
    Thanks

  • Apple Wireless Keyboard won't pair with iMac...

I just bought a new 27" iMac and had customized and shipped from Apple (didn't buy it off the shelf in the Apple Store).
When the new iMac got here today, I connected it to my aftermarket (wired USB) keyboard and trackball. It works fine.
My problem is that I need to use my old iMac for several days while I get files off of it, etc. (don't want to use migration assistant). My old iMac is last year's 24" model.
When I start my old iMac, it comes on and brings up a "Bluetooth Setup Assistant" window and starts automatically searching for a bluetooth keyboard. I read the instructions online, and powered-on the Apple Wireless Keyboard that came with my new iMac. I powered on this new keyboard, and my old iMac starts to recognize it (it says "Attempting to connect to keyboard"), but then says there has been an error, and doesn't recognize it.
The instructions online say that when I power on my Apple Wireless Keyboard, the green light on it should start blinking. It doesn't. It just comes on for about three seconds and goes off.
What's wrong? I need to get my old iMac to recognize this keyboard. I can't even safely shut if off if it doesn't. Could it be that it was already paired to the iMac it came with? I've replaced the batteries, and still it doesn't work. Please help!
    Thanks!

Well, of course that had occurred to me. But I need to use both computers at once for a while, and I only have one wired, USB keyboard.
Anyway, I eventually got it to work. I still don't know what the problem was.

  • Wireless keyboard does not pair

    Hi,
I paired successfully a keyboard to an iMac awhile ago and then I couldn't get it work for a reason I don't know and let it go.
Now Ineed this wireless keyboard for another computer and I would like to try once again to make it work.
    Here's my problem :
Ther keyboard is recognized by the bluetooth assistant (with my name by the way). Then I get the code to enter and then the pairing fails. And I know I have to press the enter key ! My batteries are ok (green light). I have tried on a friend(s computer, same thing and the keyboard is also recognized with my name on his machine. Is there a way to globally reset this keyboard and start from the beginning ?
Any idea would be welcome !

    Hello p:
    Welcome to Apple discussions.
Try trashing a preference file and restarting (com.apple.bluetooth.plist).
I would also reset the PRAM:
