Wireless Keyboard Low Battery Indicator

I just purchased a new HP Touchsmart 300-1017 PC.  I got the "Low Battery Indicator" message for the wireless keyboard after taking it out of the box so I put new batteries in.   Now, two weeks later, I got the same message.  How long should the batteries last?

I get that keyboard batteries low warning on my screen sporatically.  I just click it away since I know the batteries are too new to need changing.
What was I thinking when I bought an HP ?
Oh yea, I wasn't !

  • Apple Bluetooth / Wireless Keyboard Low-Battery Indicator?

    Hi All,
Does the iPad show a low-battery indicator when the Apple wireless keyboard is running out of juice? I know OS X is supposed to, but not sure about iOS. I plan to use my keyboard for meetings and depositions where I'd be in a tight spot if I ran out of juice unexpectedly.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
No, but, "The Apple Wireless Keyboard requires just two AA batteries — one less than the previous model. And its intelligent power management system conserves battery life. *So when you’re not using the keyboard, it automatically powers down. The instant you start typing, it turns back on*. Use the on/off switch when you're away from your computer for a long time."

Carry a spare set of AA batteries just in case.

  • Wireless Keyboard - Low Battery Alert - Way to turn off?

I have a wireless keyboard (macbook late 2008 model running Lion) and while I've come to terms with the speed the thing eats away at batteries, I am most annoyed by the alerts telling me how low the battery is.  I get alerts at around 15% and around 10% they pop up almost every 7-10 minutes, which is quite annoying if you're doing a bit of work. I would prefer to use my batteries until they run out or at least until they are 5% or less, yet the annoying alerts almost make me wish to throw them out now.  Clearly the easiest solution is to just always use new batteries or rechargables, but I would prefer to find a method to just get rid of the warning altogether. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    To my knowledge, no.

  • Mighty Mouse wireless: changing the setting of the low battery indicator

    Hi,
It seems that the low battery indicator for the wireless mighty mouse appears when the battery level goes under 30%. Is it possible to change this setting, e.g. make it occur when it passes the 5% of remaining battery?
    Thanks!

I fully agree with Tibo. I'd like to change this setting as well.
This low battery warning may be a good heads-up for someone who feeds their MM cheap batteries but, I got two Energizer AA Lithium batteries in mine and it literally "keeps going and going..." consistently for weeks while constantly receiving the annoying low battery warning.
Come on, users a perfectly capable of deciding what is fair-warning on the life of batteries we feed the MM.

  • Why can't apple put a simple audible low battery indicator on the iphone?

I get so tired of having my iphone shut down on me mid-conversation. My screen is black and up to my ear; my phone is in my purse while I'm talking on my blue tooth and also has a black screen; or my phone is on my hip with a black screen while I talk with my earphones. How in the heck I am going to READ a low batter indicator on my phone behind a black screen? That information would be very helpful if I weren't on my blue tooth. Actually, that 2% low battery notification would very helpful to me if my phone weren't up to my ear with a black screen. Why can't they put a simple audible low battery indicator on the phone?

" How in the heck I am going to READ a low batter indicator on my phone behind a black screen?"
    You cannot.
" Why can't they put a simple audible low battery indicator on the phone?"
They can.  They have simply chosen not to do so.

  • Low Battery Indicator - Please Turn It Off

How do you turn off the on-screen low battery indicator (other than changing the batteries in my remote which is working fine)?
I have STD box.  I don't have an HD Box or a DVR (just like most FIOS subscribers).  How has this update benefited us?
    Thanks ,

After you press a button on the remote you use with the set top that shows the "low battery" indicator on screen; does the top red LED on the remote flash multiple times?  If so, this is the remote indicating to you that the batteries are low, both by flashing that LED and by sending a code to the set top so IMG displays that indicator.
Supposing you could disable the indicator in IMG, then you would just end up with a non functional remote in a couple days.

  • Alternating blinking Apple icon and low battery indicator

My nano has been displaying an alternating blinking Apple icon and a low battery indicator. I have tried to reset it, but it doesn't change. I have connected it via USB to my computer for several hours, and I have connected it to an AC charger for a couple hours. Still no change.
    Any ideas?

    1. Reset iPad
    2. Try another wall socket
    3. Try another cable (make sure it's an original Apple cable)
    4. Try another charger (make sure it's an original Apple charger)
    5. Clean Lightning port with compress air

  • Annoying bluetooth low battery indicator

How do I turn off the Bluetooth flashing low battery indicator in the menu bar? My mouse batteries are not low, but the bluetooth indicator has been flashing for several days, and every once in a while, I get a popup warning me that the mouse will stop functioning (which it doesn't).
I have turned off the "show bluetooth status in menu bar" option, but the low battery warning overrides it. I do not have any other bluetooth peripherals connected.

By the way, no. The problem is not like world hunger.
But I put up with a blinking light on my Apple 17" lcd monitor for years. That one, thankfully, I could cover with a sticky note. Unsightly, yes. Distractingly annoying, less so than having a computer named Mr. Blinkey!
So, when I bought my beautiful new Mac Pro recently, I bought a whole new Cinema display just so I wouldn't have the problem of something on my screen constantly blinking at me! However, to my horror and eternal suffering, my beatiful new screen blinks at me from the annoyingly unwanted bluetooth menu bar. Worse, I can't even use a sticky note to cover it!
Ugh! Apple! So close, yet so close...

  • Apple wireless keyboard, no battery logo always blinking

    Hello,
I just got my battery changed for my apple wireless keyboard. Even if i replace the battery again, the issue start again.
The not battery logo is always blinking every 5 seconds which is terribly disturbing.
What could be the issue about it ?
    Thx for your reply.
    PS : i use windows 7

I don't know about the Wireless Keyboard, but Apple's Magic Trackpad (MT) is amazingly inaccurate in telling the computer how much power is left. I have a mid 2010 iMac (27", 3.6 GHz i5, 10.10.1). About a week ago, my the iMac reported that the MT had a low battery. Usually, I tend to change the battery when this happens. This time, I decided to just keep on going. Well, it's been more than a week now, and the MT is working fine. The battery charge has been gradually dropping (sort of), and now reads 8%. One day it even went to 40%, but then it dropped back to 9. I don't think this has anything to do with Yosemite, since I had been noticing that the battery life on my MT seemed awfully short, lasting less than 2 weeks on Apple's rechargeable batteries. This has been the case from 10.6 through 10.10.

  • Low Battery indicator issue

When my battery became low on my blackberry 8330, the amber LED began to blink, indicating the battery needs to be charged.  I turned off the device but didn't charge it.  When I turned the device on several hours later, the amber LED blinked only for a few moments then stopped, but the battery indicator on the screen still stated that the battery was low.  I turned the device off then back on again, and the same thing happened, the amber LED flashed only for a moment then stopped.  I then got a message on the e-mail the device is linked to, causing the red LED to flash, but when the red LED started flashing, the amber one started flashing too.  I've seen several messages about the inconsistancy of the LED indicators, but haven't heard anything about the battery indicator.  Anyone know what the issue is or how to resolve it?

Try a reset by pulling the battery leave it out for 30 sec and then re-install it.  If this does not correct your problem, I would go to the store where you bought it and ask to try another battery to see if this corrects the problem.  If not, swap the device out for a new one.  you get a one year mfg warranty aganist defects of this type.

  • Wireless Keyboard (3x Battery Version) -  Shift Key Issue

    Chaps,
I am using a 3G-WiFi iPad with the Apple Wireless Keyboard, which is great.
However, the RIGHT HAND Shift Key doesn't work for me.
Is this the same for other users?
(I am in UK, but maybe a US person can try too?)

  • How can I stop the low battery indicator from flashing!?!?!?

    Hi -
My mouse's batteries are low. But they take a week before they actually give up completely. During that time the bluetooth low batter indicator flashes. I've tried going into preferences and telling it not to show, but no luck.
Isn't there some way to tell it to shut up? I just don't see a reason to change the batteries a week early if it works just fine during that time...
    Thanks!

    Annoying huh?
What's worse is it takes a week for the batteries to actually die so the mouse is unusable...

  • HT1222 i have low battery indicator when phone has been charged

i have a low battery even when phone has been charged

    Battery meter recalibration...
Fully discharg (until it shuts off) and then fully recharging (don't unplug until 100%) to recalibrate the battery meter.  You may need to do this a few times.

  • Disable Wireless Trackpad low battery notification?

That's basically it. Does anyone know how to?
The low battery message keeps poping up on the notification center every 10 minutes - and I'm still up to 15% battery. I don't want to use the trackpad for the next week having to close the notification every 10 minutes.
    Thanks.

Yep, super annoying as I get at least another 2 months out of the battery.  Two months of constant reminders.
Surely there must be a way to stop this?  Or at least to modify it's behaviour so that it only comes up when down to 5% and only reappears once per day?

  • Sensor low battery indicator in 2nd gen Touch?

I got a used Nike+ kit last week. Everything worked fine, calibration right on. Did a warm-up walk tonight prior to running. When the walk was finished, it said my walk was 0 miles, pace was 0, and burned 0 calories. When I got ready to run, the iPod could never find the sensor. I have turned Nike+ off and on, put the sensor into sleep and "revived" it...all kinds of stuff.
Since it is a used sensor, I'm wondering if the battery has gone. I didn't see a low battery sensor, though, which makes me wonder if the 2nd gen Touch displays one.
    All advice is welcome.

Sorry, didn't notice I was on the Nano forum.
