Wireless keyboard response issues

Hi,
Has anyone else had a problem with the keyboard not being responsive while typing? It is an intermittent problem which I thought might be the batteries needing replacing but it still happens with the replacements. Any advice most welcome.

where is your wireless receiver is located
for me find this is better to have it on the above somewhere on the desk and if you have like a usb cable with a usb plug on a stand like. a picture is shown
this would be a handy thing to have on your desk on the surface and it will help the signal with less interference and i have my reciever above my desk and it has worked for me better
Please provide Kudos to whom has provided answers or
good points or advice..

  • Wireless Keyboard - Battery Issues

My wireless keyboard runs out of battery charge increidibly quickly. About once every ten days. The keyboard is about 13 months old and I've had this problem for the last 5 months or so. Can this be normal? Is the keyboard defective? Is there anything to do?

Battery life is a function of usage.  There is no general answer to your question.
I have used rechargeable batteries and a 15 minute charger for several years.  Rechargeables do not last as long as Lithium batteries, but I am never out of batteries.

  • Apple wireless keyboard a1134 issues w 2011 mbp

I'm having serious issues with the A1134 keyboard from Apple.  I use my macbook pro both at home and at work in clamshell mode, that is with the lid closed, power connected, and an external monitor on mini display port.  I use the Apple Bluetooth keyboard A1134, and the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad.  The computer ALWAYS pairs just fine with the mouse and track pad, but it seems like almost every day now my computer refuses to immediately pair with the keyboard.
It's very frustrating, and I'm not sure how to fix it.  The problems seem to have happened when I wanted to "play" with my keyboard and see if it would pair to my iphone and some other devices, which it did quite nicely (i paired both my home and work one to it at some point).   Even though I've since gone and removed it from my iphone and turned bluetooth off on the phone, the pairing with my laptop seems to be a constant battle.
Does any one have any suggestions on how I can completely delete all previous pairings from the keyboard itself?  It has to be storing the pairing information in some ROM chip on the keyboard, so it would be nice to factory reset the keyboard somehow so i can start over.
Also, do you think since I have a keyboard and mouse paired at work and another set at home my system might be getting confused with all these devices paired up to it?  It's so frustrating and has really been ruining my awesome Mac experience that I love so much.

    Hello:
You do not indicate what level of OS X you are now operating (your profile needs updating).
There are a couple of things I can suggest, but I need to know where you are first.

  • Keyboard response issues in flash player

    Hi,
When I'm playing games made with flash, every so often it won't respond to my keyboad inputs.  It happens maybe every 30 seconds, so it's pretty regular, and won't respond for a few seconds.  If I was holding a key at the time of this hanging, then the player acts as though I am still holding that key down. The game will still continue as normal, so it gets me killed all the time, so I wan't to know if/how I can fix it. I've tried changing the quality and closing down other windows, but neither seemed to make a difference.
    I use
    Windows XP tablet edition (32-bit)
    Firefox 3.6.8 (32-bit presumably)
    Flash player WIN 10,1,82,76

Hi, It could just be that the keyboard needs cleaned. Dust accumulates between all of the keys. Canned air is good or a small soft brush. I have to clean mine every so often.
Also the next time it sticks, hit the space bar and see if that helps.
If that doesn't help, then perhaps the game is not working properly and you think it's the key. I've never had that problem, so really can't say for sure.
Maybe someone else will see your thread that has had this happen to them and reply.

  • Slow Keyboard Response

I'm developing applications in flex and notice there is a
slow response from text input boxes that sometimes miss keystrokes.
This is particularly noticeable in login entry forms where keying
in username / password which is normally done very rapidly, will
    often miss key strokes.
I've tried upping the frameRate to 60 in the application,
however this does not seem to improve the situation.
I'm just starting to develop a new web content application
that will require lots of keying, and this response issue will kill
    the usability.
    Cheers,

    Vygo,
Are you experiencing the problem on a Vista Machine? I was
suspicious that it's a potential problem with Vista and not so much
    Flex.
On google I found others who had reported keyboard response
issues with Vista. I did a regedit patch but that has not solved my
    problem.
I'll do some more testing on one of XP machines and make
    sure.

  • New Mac Mini - wireless keyboard issue

I bought a new mini and wireless keyboard and mouse. The mouse works but the keyboard is not being recognized. Any help? It is a new mini so I cannot get onto the preferences and I do not have another mac keyboard.

Scrounged a Microsoft USB mouse and plugged into Mac Mini. Allowed me to click through to new pane telling me I had no keyboard connected, please connect one. Well, that's progress.
Took a number of attempts. Eventually it saw and displayed my KB's Bluetooth ID, but then failed. It was almost "reluctant," like it was trying to get out of work. This is not behavior I am used to from non-sentient digital equipment. Unless... never mind.
With a functioning KB and mouse I finally was able to open Lion and System Preferences and discover the DEFAULT trackpad settings DISABLED clicks! I assume Apple has a method to what seems madness. Otherwise those Stuxnet saboteurs have been moonlighting in Cupertino to devise an out-of-the-box fail.
I didn't start out an Apple fanboy but since 2007 their products have turned me into one. Yet I was so disappointed today I planned to return the Mac Mini, KB and Magic Trackpad tomorrow. My Apple Store is nearby. I kinda knew that USB end run would work, but I was insulted they made me resort to such a kludge.
I cannot imagine why that initial Bluetooth pairing procedure hassle remains without some kind of service bulletin addressing known problems. So many people have commented on it over these boards. I flatter myself to conclude Apple does so many other things right that once in a while things get past them.
As usual, now that I command Lion OSX on an HDTV from the couch, I'll be keeping this Mac Mini as part of my home's Apple suite, crossing my fingers against Bluetooth issues.

  • [ISSUE] Apple Wireless Keyboard on Non-Apple hardware

I am using a laptop and would like to use the apple wirless keybaord model : A1314, the reason I am using Apples keybaords as apposed to others is that others are made of cheap plasic!
    Laptop Info:
It has build in bluetooth but I also have a bluetooth usb adapter if that helps.
    Its a Lenovo Thinkpad T430.
    On windows 8.1.
    [ISSUE]
In the settings app under bluetooth I add the divice and type in the code and press enter, It loads for a while and underneath it says driver error.
The keyboard does not work at all!
    Please leave seggestions!

i am having this exact same problem. Keyboard isnt seen if I select "Keyboard" in the bluetooth setup assistant, but if I select "Any Device" then after a moment "Apple Wireless Keyboard" shows up in the device list but it will refuse to pair, saying it doesnt have any configurable services.
Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated.

  • My MacBook pro stopped connecting to my apple wireless keyboard a while ago.  Since it won't connect to a second one, I suspect it's a computer issue.   Software thoughts?  Updates I've missed?  Thanks

About a year ago, my computer and my keyboard stopped connecting.  I attributed it to a failed keyboard.  Didn't use it much.
Tried today with a second apple wireless keyboard, and it won't connect via blue tooth, either.
Could this be a software/firmware issue that it well known?  Or the bluetooth card on my computer is dead?
    Thoughts?

And, I get a message saying that the "device does not have the required services."
    Thanks again.

  • I'm having issues with my apple wireless keyboard and bootcamp 5

I'm having issues with my apple wireless keyboard.
I just bought an Apple Wireless Keyboard for my ThinkPad E430 but the keys are not compatible.
I installed BootCamp 5 and it worked great but whenever I restart, it changes my system's time.

What do you mean by racing around in circles? Have you done any damage to your phone? Like drop it or get it wet?

  • Ipad doesn't recognise wireless keyboard apart from the function keys this has only just occurred . Previously no issue at all

Ipad 2 doesn't recognise wireless keyboard apart from the function keys this has only just occurred . Previously no issue at all.

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

  • Pavilion wireless keyboard issues

I have just bought a new Pavilion 500-250ea desktop + Pavilion 22xi monitor. Nice hardware, shame about having to have Windows 8.1 though :-)
The desktop shipped with a wireless mouse and a wireless keyboard (Part No 697345-031). I've spent the last couple of days with all the kit on the desk, setting everything up and transferring all my files etc. All going nicely until I got to the stage where I was able to take my old machine away and put the new one in the space UNDER the desk (wooden top). Now the mouse is erratic and the keyboard often just 'hangs' for a while. Surely the wireless range ought to be better than that and not bothered simply by an intervening desk???? Or is 'deskTOP' meant to be taken literally.....
Also, the keyboard has NO CapsLock or NumLock lights !!! This plays havoc when trying to enter passwords :-( Is there any utility perhaps to display the CapsLock and/or NumLock status on the screen??

    Hello Nemo2000,
I have read your post on how your desktop is experiencing erratic control of the wireless keyboard and the mouse with the desktop hidden away, and I would be happy to assist you!
To begin, I recommend moving the desktop to a more open area to test for spacial interference. To expand on this, I suggest following this document on Wireless Printing Common Questions. Under "Wireless Connection Issues" please select "How do I improve a weak signal from my wireless router?" on obstructions.
In regards to the caps and num lock keys, I understand there are no indication lights in the top right-hand corner. On most programs, however, you will be given an indication that the cap locks are on for passwords. A good example of this is when you log onto your computer, it will tell you if the caps lock is on or not.
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

  • Z68A-G43(g3) issues with the Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 6000

    Hello,
we've buils a new PC with the MSI Mainboard Z68A-G43(G3) and the PC hangs on the start with the code 92. We noticed that the issue is caused by some USB device. After many tests we found out that when the MicroSoft Wireless Keyboard 6000 v2 is connected to the computer, it stops to start.
The keyboard is connected through the Microsoft Wireless Desktop Receiver 3.1 to the USB, which is used to connect the mouse as well.
I'd like to use the kb + mouse set, how can I fix the issue.
Also, I tried to update BIOS via the Live Update, and it's not working, the BIOS download fails.
    Any help is welcome.
    Regards,
    Michal

    The BIOS is 4.10.
Also I forgot one note, the KB is working, but only when it's connected alone. When we connect to USB port another device (Flash Drive, USB Wireless, ...) the PC won't start. When the KB is removed, the PC starts without any problem.
Also another note, when the KB was connected and the Zyxel Wireless PCI adapter was connected, PC doesn't start, when KB is disconnected, PC starts.
So there seems to be some issue with the MS device.
    Regards,
    Michal

  • Wireless keyboard caps lock issue (not LED related)

i just bought an iMac last week and I'm having a weird issue with caps locks. It seems like that particular key needs to be pressed harder than the rest of the keys to register a keystroke. If I hit it lightly, the key will depress but the keystroke won't register and the LED light won't come on. Any other key, even if I hit it very lightly, as long as it was pressed down, the keystroke is registered,
I found the right amount of force where I can press it down like 10 times and it won't register the keystrokes at all. When I'm typing fast, I'll have to go back to capitalize almost 80% of the letter that need capitalizing even though I hit the caps lock key while I was typing. All the "I"s, the first letters of every sentence and the first letters of proper names.
I've had plenty of keyboards, some wireless and I've never had this issue, nor have I had it on my Macbook. I'm just wondering if this is how it was designed to work or if I have a faulty keyboard that I need to go and replace.

    Hi Guys
Glad I've just found these posts. Got a new 27" iMac just before Christmas. Greatly relieved that everything worked despite all the reports of cracked screens, etc. BUT - only small problem was the Caps Lock light not always coming on. Rang Apple and got a replacement. Now today I'm having same problems - first the light froze and wouldn't go off. Then it wouldn't come on. I've now tried your advice of switching off the keyboard and taking out the batteries. Works OK now. Hopefuly it'll stay that way. Only thing is - pity Apple couldn't have given me that advice. Reading these posts, there is clearly an ongoing problem with the caps lock light on the wireless keyboard. A problem thats been around for months. Clearly Apple's poilicy, as always, is to admit nothing until it comes up with a fix. Pity that policy appears to extend to not even telling their own employees that there is a problem ...

  • Apple Wireless keyboard and slow response

I just purchased a 27" Retina display iMac. It came with a wireless keyboard but every now and then, typing on it can be painful as the letter won't show up on the screen until after a few seconds. Has anyone out there had this problem and figured out how to fix this? I checked the battery level and it's at 100%. Running Yosemite.

I'm also having Bluetooth problems. The mouse periodically "slows to a crawl" and I have to cycle it's power.
