Wireless keyboard to iPad repeating characters

My wireless keyboard periodically repeats characters making typing on the iPad 2 difficult. Got fix?

Go to Settings app
Select General
Make sure Bluetooth is turned on
Make sure your keyboard is in discovery mode (press the silver button on the right side of the keyboard - the green light will start flashing)
In the Bluetooth section on the iPad, you should see the wireless keyboard
Select the found keyboard to pair it with the iPad
You'll be asked to type a pairing code on the keyboard - if it's entered successfully, your keyboard will be paired with the iPad (or any iOS device with Bluetooth)
Note that when you are using the Bluetooth keyboard, the normal iPad keyboard does not appear - turn off Bluetooth or the external keyboard (press and hold the button on the right side of the Apple Wireless Keyboard), or travel outside the 10-15m range of Bluetooth to go back to using the regular iPad keyboard

How do you connect wireless keyboard to ipad?

Go to Settings -> General -> Bluetooth. Turn on the iPad Bluetooth service and then the keyboard. They should find each other.
BTW it's tricky to disconnect them. If you don't turn off the keyboard while it's paired, the iPad virtual keyboard won't work properly. Check the manual.
The green light on the keyboard doesn't stay on all the time the keyboard is on, just for a few seconds after each change of state.
The bluetooth keyboard - iPad combination is a very effective writing tool. The keyboard is very responsive.

  • Can I use my wireless keyboard with iPad?

I have an original old iPad. I also have a Mac Wireless keyboard.
Can I link to my my iPad? and how?

    You can certainly try
    1)  on iPad:  pull up Settings > General > Bluetooth
    2)  slide from Off to On  (or On to Off, wait, then Off to On again)
    3)  on keyboard:  hold down the power button on the side until the little green light flashes
    4)  release
    5)  on iPad:  "Apple Wireless Keyboard" should pop up under "Devices"
    6)  if yes, tap "Not Connected" so it searches for a return signal from the keyboard
if no, try resetting/restarting your iPad (holding down the Home button and the Sleep button at the same time) and repeating instructions
    7)  on keyboard:  send the iPad a return signal by pressing the Shift key

  • How to use shortcut keys on wireless keyboard with ipad

i just purchased an ipad 4 with a wireless keyboard and do not know how to use the function keys on the wireless keyboard to access the homescreen, scroll up and down, etc.  please help with anything i need to turn on/off or download . thanks

If you have more than one keyboard active, you may be using a different one than you want.  Use the "globe" key to make sure your virtual keyboard is set to Japanese Romaji or Japanese Kana.  Which one do you use?
On the hardware keyboard, use apple/command plus space to switch between different keyboard layouts which may be active.

  • Connecting an Apple wireless keyboard to iPad mini

I have an Apple wireless keyboard which I use with my MacMini and have tried to get it to work on my new iPad Mini (it is love at first sight, that is me and the iPad mini) but with no sucess.  This maybe down to me but perhaps the keyboard can only work with one machine.  Any thoughts out there?

If its paired and in range of the iMac it will auto connect to it. You may need to unpair it form the Mac mini before pairing with the iPad, or make sure the Mac Mini is off or out of range when you initate the pairing with the iPad.

  • Same Wireless keyboard for iPad and iMac

Can I easily and quickly use a wireless keyboard on a Ipad & a Imac? I can pair them but can't
    connect them. KST

You can pair the keyboard to multiple devices. For example, my keyboard is paired to my Mac, iPad and iPhone.
You can only use the keyboard with one device at a time. This means you have to "disconnect" not "un-pair" the keyboard from a device before "connecting" it to another device.

  • HT4111 Wireless keyboard on Ipad

I've consistently been unable to continuously have my wireless keyboard work with my IPad AFTER touching the IPad screen.
I'll be typing away on the still connected keyboard and whenever I touch the Ipad screen and want to  go back to using the keyboard... NOTHING registers when I press any key.
    what's happening?

What kind of keyboard do you have?
Has it been paired in Settings<Bluetooth?
Have you tried using fresh batteries? (or have it at 100% charge)

  • Trying to use function keys (like windows) on apple wireless keyboard for ipad, as well as arrow keys.

I am connecting to my work PC through my ipad. My main program i use for work is a DAS based (ancient, i know.) Anyways, i have to be able to use function keys, i can touch the screen so if i can not it isn't the end of the world. But it would make things MUCH more easier. Is there a way to program the F1-F12 keys on the wireless keyboard to use like windows, rather than the brightness/volume/play buttons.
Also, my arrow keys don't seem to work right. If i am using notepad, they don't work, unless i have entered down 6 lines, the arrows will work as far as those 6 lines, but won't go down on there own. If i am on the internet and there is a drop down menu, the arrow keys don't work either. As well as in my work program, they don't work at all, it's as if the arrow keys don't register.
    Help?!

Just added information. In my work program, i can use the onscreen keyboard (but it takes up half the screen so i can not see what i am doing. From that keyboard, and can toggle back and forth from the regular keyboard, the FN screen for function keys, and the CTRL keyboard. This is why i am confused as to why the function keys and arrows will not work on the wireless, yet they have the keyboard on the screen.

  • Can I use my mac wireless keyboard with iPad?

I'm sure it will work - using my Apple wireless keyboard that I use with my laptop.... and use it with my iPad
Just wondering... would there be any problems or downfalls I haven't thought of?
    Sounds like a dumb question
I've just seen a Belkin iPad keyboard advertised for £80 (more than the Apple wireless keyboard for laptops)
So I thought... there *must* be 'something' I'm missing?
    Thanks
    Omar

Yes it will work. However, you would need to delete it from one device before you attach it to the new device. Bluetooth devices may only be paired with one thing at a time (for obvious reasons).

  • Using Apple Wireless Keyboard on iPad 2

    Hi Guys
I bought a new Apple Wireless Keyboard at the AppleStore in Zürich yesterday.
I would like to use this keyboard for my iPad 2, but I have one problem:
I connect it with the iPad, all works perfectly. But I can`t use the other volume...iPod-features and so on. I can only
    use for writing.
Is there anybody, who could help me? :P
    Thank you very much!
    Regards

Unfortunately there is no way to do exactly what you want.  Apple does not let users add custom keyboard layouts to iOS devices yet, and the list of hardware layouts for English is restricted to  us, dvorak, colemak, us international-pc, us extended, british, french, german, spanish-iso, italian, dutch, belgian.  Only German is qwertz.
You could also try switching to Swiss French or Swiss German, as the hardware layouts for both of these is qwertz I think.  But then spell check will not be in English.

  • Scrambled symbol keys, wireless keyboard-to-iPad

Have a new Apple wireless keyboard, connected OK to iPadI, but symbol keys are scrambled,  e.g., 'question mark' key yields a 'dash', etc.; not all, but quite a few.  Would be grateful for any suggestions.

You probably have the wrong keyboard selected in Settings > General > Keyboards.  Make sure only English is checked and then tap it to make sure that under Hardware you have US checked.

The bluetooth one, yes. You can.

  • How long does an apple wireless keyboard for iPad battery last?

does anyone know how long does an apple keyboard for iPad battery last? Thanks

No.  Once sn iOS version comes out that is not compatible with your hardware, you cannot, obviously, update iOS any longer.  However, your iPad running the last release of iOS compatible with it will continue to run that iOS release at the same speed it always did.
Nothing about any computer ever slows down with age - your cpu, RAM and storage all function at the same speed as they always did.  New software may add features that tax your system more than a newer system would be taxed, but nothing about your system changes just because the device ages.
At some point, our system simply is unable to update or run newer software because that newer or updated software requires hardware features that yours simply does not have.  But your exisiting software on your existing hardware will continue to run just as it always has.
As to when your system becomse unable to handle new software or iOS features, that is purely a matter of how quickly newer hardware comes out and how quickly software developers move to new features that your system cannot handle.
There is no inherent reason to believe that an iPad 4 will not be compatible with the next release of iOS - it might not be, but it may very well be.  Depends entirely on what changes the next release (whenever that may be) introduces, and what new device hardware Apple may be working on.

  • Connect wireless keyboard to ipad

hi can someone tell me if a am able to connect my wireless mouse and keyboard (the one that came with my mac) to my ipad2 via wifi/bluetooth?

If you want to continue using the keyboard with your Mac (not at the same time, of course), then follow these steps:
    - Turn OFF Bluetooth on your Mac
    - Turn Bluetooth ON on the iPad
    - pair the keyboard with the iPad, enjoy using the keyboard to enter text on the iPad
To go back to using the keyboard with your Mac, turn Bluetooth off on the iPad, then back on on the Mac. Your Mac should see the keyboard and pair with it. To use the keyboard with the iPad again, repeat the above steps. The iPad should automatically see the keyboard next time.
Basically, turn off Bluetooth on the device that is currently using the keyboard before turning on Bluetooth on the next device.
