Wireless lan satellite SA60-117
Hi,
The SA60-117 is standard without WLAN adapter, but there is a location to place a mini-PCI-card(?), see cover in the bottom.
Is this a accessoire you can buy and place later (where/how) or is this just for other SA60 models?
Now I use a USB-stick or PCMCIA-card, but I want a built-in WLAN-card.
Thanks, John
Hello john
As far as I know the Wireless LAN / Wi-Fi is not available for this unit. That means that there is no antenna and retrofitting of the unit will costs a lot of money. In my opinion USB stick or PCMCIA wireless card is the best and cheapest solution.

Satellite L750 - Wireless LAN is Off, no connection to my home WLAN
Hello, I am having some issues with my Satellite L750. It has a wireless adapter called Atheros AR9002WB-1NG, which seems to be acting up.
When I turned my laptop on I noticed it wasn't connected to any networks, so I looked and found it couldn't find any. I checked on my phone (on which I am writing this) and there is my network and many others that are available for connecting, and mine works fine on my phone. I tried resetting the router and nothing happened, and I could still connect on my phone and tablet.
I delved into the wireless software and found something called "ConfigFree". In this I found "Connectivity Doctor". This said that there was an issue with the adapter, and then after further examining I found that it said that "Wireless LAN Off" next to a red image of a switch.
Does anyone know how to turn it back on?TosHdpAPI.dll belongs to Toshiba Bluetooth stack software
So I recommend reinstalling the Toshiba BT stack in order to fix this!
The Atheros Wlan card seems to support the Bluetooth too.
So to be able to use Wlan and BT you have to install the Atheros WLan driver, Atheros BT filter and Toshiba BT stack -
Satellite A60: Wireless LAN switch at the side is cover over
hi I have a Satellite A60 notebook, I want to turn on my Wireless Lan But the switch at the side is cover over like its just for show. I have all the indications that i can turn it on, the symbol at the fron and the on/ off at the side, but as i said it is covered over and not a switch as showld be. Does theis mean I can't have a wireless connection or is it a fault in the notebook? please help.
many thanksI do not have an answer, I just want to share your frustration. I recently sorted out a wireless hub for home but I can not get on it with my A60.
I also have the light at the front and the blanked off switch on the right and a manual which talks of wireless LANS in glowing tones.
I was lead to believe that it was wireless enabled but it is not!!!
It even comes up with a graphic "searching for a wireless connection" but that's pointless if it has not got the stuff to work [when it's inches from the wireless hub]. -
Satellite A300: "Wake on Wireless LAN" option disabled in BIOS
Hello,
I have a Satellite A300-230 notebook, and in the BIOS, the option (under Advanced) to enable/disable the *Wake on Wireless LAN* is disabled and greyed out without any way to change it.
Why is that so? How can I enable it?
BIOS version is 2.20 (latest).
Thanks to all.Hi, i've just installed the Toshiba Hardware Utility and there is no option there for wireless lan wakeup. It has Wake-on-Lan for my wired card (which is enabled), but no wireless Wake-on-Lan.
btw, my BIOS is InsydeH2O. I understand that there are several manufacturers of BIOS's for this notebook, no? what is yours?
also: my wireless card is Atheros -
Why does Satellite L300-10Q not recognise a wireless lan
This new laptop computer is working ok on a wired LAN but does not recognise a Wireless Lan. Got message that no networks can be found. In the same room with another Toshiba Laptop the wireless LAN is found and has a good signal strength.
The switch for wireless LAN is turned on and "antenna" pictogram led is burning red.
Seems that it is not configurated for detection. Any Idea how to solve this? Thanks for your reaction. But on the other working laptop several wireless access points can be "seen" in the area and on this laptop none. When wanting to contact a LAN it constantly refers to not a network cable connected and no wireless LAN access points can be seen unfortunately.
The system it works on for both laptops is Vista Home edition premium. Checked if the system was not set on "off line" working; what else can be checked to know that automatic detection is set and that the system is looking for the wireless points ?

Satellite L300-15V - The system cannot install Wireless LAN driver
After installed all drivers for that machine, the system shows that it need to install Wireless LAN driver, but i did!!! What's going on? Help! I can't make wireless net home!!!!!!
I assume you have tried to install the Realtek WLan driver. Is it right?
Go to this Toshiba WLan driver page:
http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/
and check if you can install the Atheros Wireless LAN driver or the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945/4965/5100/5300 driver.

Satellite Pro M30: Wireless LAN/ZeroCfgSvc MFC Application
Whenever i turn on the wireless lan switch an error msg appears " ZeroCfgSvc MFC Application has encountered a problem and needs to close.
What shall I do?Hi
I have read on some websites that a new wireless driver update could solve this issue.
Try to download the new wireless update from the Toshiba website:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp
or from the Intel website:

Satellite C55-A5105 Wi-Fi is painfully slow, wireless LAN driver won't install
I've been bouncing around for solution on this issue of C55-A's and 8.1 having problems with slow Wi-Fi, and attempted to do the driver update. However, after downloading an extracting to it's own folder on my Desktop, I get to a point where it reads it cannot locate file C:\Users\<my username>\Desktop\<folder name>\Win8164\REALTEK Wirless LAN Driver.msi. If I retry, I get a 1706 error, no valid source could be found for product REALTEK Wireless LAN driver. I'm pretty certain I'm download the correct driver. I have run a check from Device Manager to see if the latest driver is installed, and I'm being told yes, so I can't figure out why speed is so slow still. This is my wife's laptop and it's barely used since we got in May, so we are a bit behind on Windows updates. Not sure that has anything to do with it. I've also disabled the Wireless card from being able to be powered down, another tip I found in this forum.
Hi Peter. I stumbled on this site and downloaded the driver they link to, followed their instructions, and see no improvement. I'm trying to break up the Windows Update downloads, and 84MB is a snail's pace. Do you have any info on what driver i should be updating exactly, and where that file may be?

Hi
I was told when I bought this that it had support for wireless LAN, but to me it seems that there is no such built in functionality. Am I correct?
No button to turn on/off the wireless function, and no trace of such communication in control panel.Hi
I am sure that your notebook supported wireless card. First of all you must be sure do you have one or not. Please check in device manager under Network adapters if there is wireless card listed. If not you must buy one. In your case it can be some Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card or you can buy PCMCIA Wireless card and use it in PC Card slot.
Both solutions are ok but the second one is maybe easier because Mini PC Card must be build in on right place and it is necessary to open the notebook cover. -
What's the best way to get Wireless on Satellite 2410-504?
Hi Guys,
I hope someone can help...I have a Satellite 2410-504 which is nearly 4 years old pretty good spec for time. I thought it had wireless built in...it has on/off switch and LED light, however I cannot find it in device manager...on removing undercover for wireless it is empty....I have bought a Belkin Cable router for NTL cable....what would be the best option to make it wireless or is it already...could someone advise.
Scott
[Edited by: admin on 22-Jan-06 21:38]Hi
As far as I know the wireless card is optional on this unit. This means that you can upgrade your notebook with the miniPCI wireless card which you can put into the wireless slot.
You can use these cards:
Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card (2,4GHz, 802.11a/b) PA3273U-1MPC
Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card (2,4GHz, 802.11b) PA3212U-1MPC

Windows 8 and Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC
Hi!
I hava a Toshiba L650 - 107 PSKI JE and I am having a problem with the my wireless network adapter on windows 8.
My network adapter is Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC and works fine on windows 7. Two days ago I formatted my hard drive and install windows 8. The problem is that for much drivers I keep installing, The wireless keep turned off. There's no way I can move the slide from off to on.
I already tried a lot of drivers from toshiba and from realtek but doesn't work.
I went to see the Network Connections (Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network Connections) and the Ethernet is fine, I connect a cable and it is fine, but wi-fi says "Not connected".
How do I solve this problem?Satellite L650-107 (PSK1JE-00P003EP)
Downloads here.
A computer from Portugal? (Specifications attached.)
This driver should work on Windows 8.
Realtek Wireless LAN Driver
But your problems may be more fundamental. Prior to loading Toshiba-specific programs, you probably need to install something like this.
Toshiba System Driver - Windows 8 beta
And for the function keys to work, you'll need still another Toshiba utility.

How To use a wireless in Satellite L305-S5968
I just recently purchased a Toshiba Satellite L305-S5968 and I've never used or been able to set up a wireless PC.
How exactly can I use this PC to be wireless so I can login for free at the local library.
My wireless network card is this one: Realtek RTL8187B Wireless 802.11g 54Mbps USB 2.0 Network Adapter.
I have the LAN working just fine but I'm afraid that the library does not have LAN plugins there.
What all do I need and what do I need to do to make this work.
I need step by step instructions on this please do not post vague answers.
I'm not a PC idiot, but I have never set this up before so this is new for me.
EDIT: Sorry I realize this may help...
I'm running Windows XP SP2 on here I believe.
I have my own disk i installed it with. I'll also be installing the wireless driver becasue apparently its missing as well.
ThanksHi,
Im a little bit confused about your posting. What you want to know exactly?
I mean you can WLAN instead of LAN without problems. Its the same just without cable. You have only to check the TCP/IP settings on your computer that is also depending on the router and type in the right password from the router Thats all!
Furthermore I have founded an interesting document:
[How to use a Wireless LAN Access Area for easy connection with Toshiba ConfigFree?|http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9202JI0000R01.htm] -
Incompatible Config Free and Wireless LAN driver/manager
Hi,
The *ConfigFree 5.90.05AB*, available in the Satellite MCE A100-498 download drivers area, is incompatible with the wireless lan manager *Intel PROSet Utility 12.4.0.0.3* (driver *Intel PRO/Wireless 3945/4965/5100/5300 12.4.0.21.1*), also available in the same place.
When both installed, the *Conectivity Doctor* and *Profiles* tool returns the error "+cfmain.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience+".
Is there any other version of ConfigFree that works with this wireless lan driver/manager version? Will Toshiba release another ConfigFree version?
Best regards,
FilipeSilvaYou can install what you want but please follow the exact installations order .
It is very important.
All offered drivers, tools and utilities are tested and I cannot imagine Toshiba will offer some new version for 3 years old notebooks. -
No wireless on Satellite C660d-14W after clean Win 7 intsallation
Hello,
I bought a toshiba satellite c660d-14w off a friend, and reinstalled a clean copy of windows 7 x64.
After installing, the laptop didn't recognize any hardware (graphics, sound, wireless network card) so I've been slowly trying to install all the drivers for them all.
However, no matter what I install for the wireless, it just doesn't seem to work.
Have installed the realtek RTL8188CE driver, the wireless lan driver from the Toshiba website, and have set the network connections service to auto and restarted it and still nothing.
In device manager, under network adapters, I have two entries:
Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller
Realtek RTL8188CE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC
Both say they are working correctly and have the latest drivers but I have no access to wireless, the icon doesn't show in the tray, and i just get a generic error message from windows when trying to manually set it up.
Please help!Try to use the command ipconfig /renew in the cms (command dos box)
Also try this:
Control Panel > Administration Tools > Computer Management > Services & Applications > Services.
Scroll down this list to find 'WLAN Auto Config'
Double click on 'WLAN Auto Config' On the general tab, select from the start up type drop down menu, select 'Automatic'. Under Service Status click on 'Start'. Then 'Apply' these settings and exit from all open control panel windows.
Otherwise uninstall the Realtek driver in the device manager.
Then reboot the notebook.
Download the Realtek WLan driver again and install it. -
