Wireless management vpro

Hi,
I'm new in the Lenovo community.
I'm trying to manage the T61 notebook using wireless interface. I enabled and configured the Intel ME and Intel AMT, but the wireless interface didn't work for management.
I access management web server in T61 from a Desktop via wired interface and the radio status in wireless settings menu is always OFF. But the radio in T61 is enabled. Windows Vista Business get IP from wireless DHCP server.
Can someone help me please?
Thank you!!!
Caio.

Management and security serversThe WLSE and an IEEE 802.1X authentication server, such as Cisco Secure Access Control Server (ACS), are required to manage and secure the wireless network. These products simplify the deployment and management of the WLAN infrastructure and help you implement an enterprise-class security solution.

if you are trying to open the router setup page then, use the password "admin" in lower case.Do not type anything in the username...If that does not work then, reset the router for 30 seconds and try again ...

  • Latest Toshiba 3G drivers & Wireless Manager don't work in Windows 7?

    Hi all,
I've installed, uninstalled, and re-installed the latest Toshiba 3G drivers and Toshiba Wireless Manager software for my NB200-123 netbook, and they don't appear to work in Windows 7.
When I start the Toshiba Wireless Manager software now (version 6.3.1.101), it starts for a split second, then Windows 7 immediately pops up a dialog box saying:
    "Wireless Manager has stopped working"
(I used to have the older XP drivers partly working, though they had the problem that if you hibernated the netbook, the next time you opened the Toshiba Wireless Manager software, it would freeze at the point where it said, "opening driver", and it would never come back)
I've currently got the following versions:
Toshiba F3507g Mobile Broadband Device - (from Toshiba) version 4.54.7103.1, dated 26/6/2009
Toshiba F3507g Mobile Broadband Network Adapter - (from Ericsson) version 1.0.0.52, dated 29/7/2009
Has anyone else managed to get this working on their NB200-123 with Windows 7? I'm wondering if I have a bad driver version somewhere?
I can't imagine that Toshiba would have rolled this out without testing it, so I must have something misconfigured somewhere.
    Best
    Rob

Ok, this does appear to be related to some kind of failed access to a .NET library. Whenever I try to launch any of the Toshiba applications, it fails immediately, and I get the following Application Event error in the event log. Note that the reference is to CLR20r3, which has to do with .NET I understand. mscorlib, referenced below, is definitely a .NET library.
Now, I know that this is supposed to be running on .NET 3.5 sp1, but I'm on Windows 7, and that includes .NET 3.5 sp1, and furthermore I've run tests on the OS to determine the .NET version(s) installed, and I've definitely got .NET 3.5 sp1 installed. So why am I getting this error?

  • Need wireless manager of sonyericsson MD300 for windows 7

    hello,
has spent several days looking for the wireless manager soy Ericsson MD300 for windows 7 64bit
I searched everywhere on the internet but I did not find anything ...
I even saw the following discussion:http://talk.sonymobile.com/message/20065#20065
but the download link that is shown is no longer available ....
Thank you for helping me to find
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

First check if there's an operator logo on the MD300. If so you should contact that operator for software and drivers. A branded MD300 may have a different firmware and may not work with our Wireless Manager.
Regarding Wireless Manager we don't have any version compatible with Windows 7. It only supports Windows 2000/XP/Vista. If you have an unbranded MD300 and want to test it anyway, please let me know and i'll send you the software.

  • Apple configurator + wireless management

Can I manage an Apple Configurator ipad cart of 32 ipads wirelessly using Apple server?

    Hi Simon,
A device must be Supervised in order to take advantage of all of the restrictions available to MDMs. To the best of my knowledge, Apple Configurator is the only tool that can "Supervise" a device. Once Supervised, then an MDM like Profile Manager can take advantage of all the restrictions and settings available for wireless management.
(from page 19 of the iOS 6 Education Deployment Guide)
Additional settings and restrictions are available to Supervised devices running iOS 6 or later. Once a device is Supervised these restrictions can be configured via configuration profiles that are delivered via Apple Configurator, MDM or manual download. These restrictions include:
Single App Mode - Locks user into a single, specified application. If powered down, the specified application will launch at boot. Consider using MDM to enable and disable this setting for dynamic control.
Global Network Proxy for HTTP - Routes most all device web traffic through a specified proxy server or setting. This setting is applied across all Wi-Fi SSIDs and cellular networks. Install this setting via Apple Configurator in a non-removable profile for strongest enforcement. Consider using a PAC file for greater flexibility with this setting.
Allow Removing Apps - Disabling prevents users from removing apps from the home screen.
Allow Use of Game Center - Disabling removes Game Center icon from the home screen. Use this setting in conjunction with disabling both Allow multiplayer gaming and Allow adding Game Center friends to completely disable Game Center on supervised devices.
Allow iMessage - Disabling removes Messages icon from the home screen.
Allow iBookstore - Disabling prevents access to the iBookstore while allowing use of the iBooks app for reading books and PDFs.
Allow iBookstore Sexually Explicit Content - Allow prevents access to adult content from the iBookstore.
Allow Configuration Profiles Installation - Disabling prevents users from manually installing configuration profiles directly on the device, which includes enrolling in an MDM server.
Is there another way to "Supervise" a device without Apple Configurator?
    ~Joe

  • Portege R600-U10 - Wireless Manager V6 error

    Hi all,
I was using the Wireless manager V5 and was having problems every time the computer went into Hibernation. I had to restart the computer every time Wireless connection was on. It would not reconnect.
Someone told me that this problem was solved with V6 so I downloaded the latest version and installed it.
I get the following error and cannor run it anymore.
Wireless Manager has encountered an error and will be closed... etc...
Do I have an option or I have to get back to V5 and continue with the hibernation problem?

    Hello
What operating system you have and where have you downloaded the new wireless manager software?
Have you removed the old version before you installed the new one?
I would recommend a clean installation So remove all wireless manager software that you have and restart your notebook. Then run CCleaner which is a freeware tool for cleaning the registry and restart again. Now install the newest version of Wireless Manager.
    Does it work now?

  • Wireless Manager crashes on G10

I have a Qosmoi G10 and a Panasonic projector with a wireless connection. Last time I tried, I simply fired up the proejector, then the laptop, then ran Wireless Manager.
Tonight, Wireless Manager simply crashes, offering only to send an error report to Microsoft. Network connections says that a connection 11mps has been made with Panasonic Display one "aquiring network address". But this never seems to be aquired.
I was going to reinstall Wireless Manager but can't find it.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

    Hi Jim
I dont know exactly which program you would like to remove but all software programs which are installed on your unit you can find in Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs
If you want re-install or update the wireless driver you can download this from the Toshiba website or you can find one on the Tools & Utilities CD.
    Best regards

  • Open letter to Verizon Wireless Management and Customer No-Services

After more than 10 years as a customer of Verizon Wireless, I have recently encountered several situations that have caused me to begin the process of changing my service provider to another company. Verizon has "zero" loyalty or appreciation of its existing customers; they have poor, and in one particular case, rude customer no-service representatives and policies.
I purchased a new smart phone for my college daughter. Of course, activation of this new phone required the purchase of a data plan, even though she doesn't need or intend to use data services. (That's fine; I was aware of  this cost even though I believe it to be over-priced). In addition, they also required a $30 fee for signing a new contract. Seriously? Are you kidding me? A fee for the "privilege" of signing a contract with the big, powerful, arrogant Verizon? I don't want a contract in the first place; it is Verizon that wants the contract. They should pay me for signing a contract. I could understand a fee for a new account setup (not really, but it makes a little sense) but a fee for an existing multi-line, long-time customer where the paperwork is nothing more than a mere mouse click of  the "I Agree" button?
So, the daughter gets her new phone with 24 months of data (for the low, low price of 25 months.... yea right). We take her old phone, which she has had for several years, and decide to use it on another of the lines in our family plan because it has a qwerty keyboard. Now, I learn that I have to sign up for a data plan to use this old phone on a different line. This phone has been in service for several years with no data plan but now I have to have a data plan to use it?  What the **** ??? I only wanted to use the phone for voice calls and a few texts. I have no need for data. This phone, an ENV3, is not well suited for data services anyway. (No, I won't be using this old phone after all.)
Companies such as yours dream up  junk fees; this one amounts to $1.25 per month additional revenue. They do this as a way of increasing revenue while advertising a lower price, ie advertise $30.00 per month but actually charge $31.25. I suppose they all pat themselves on the back and start counting all the new-found money. The management is so stupid and arrogant that they do not realize what the long-term impact could be. In this particular case, the end result shall be the net loss of $250.00 per month in revenue. I know that you don't care; that is painfully obvious and clear.
Well Mr. Verizon, you may consider this to be my official letter of resignation. Consider me gone, done, history. I don't need you, your arrogance, or your over-priced services. I currently pay nearly $250/mo to your company for six phone lines, four of which are "very lightly" used for calls and and a few text only. Personally, on my line,  I do nothing but make and/or receive an average of  two  3-minute calls per week. I put up with a lot of crap making my money; I do not have to tolerate any when spending it. I WILL be taking ALL my business elsewhere. Four of my lines are currently month-to-month with no contract. I will be moving these to another provider in the coming week. The remaining ones will be moved upon expiration of their respective contracts.
    Cheers

Verizon has no obligation to respect your "loyalty." They do, however, have an obligatory fiduciary duty to their investors, hence the "upgrade" fees, "line access" fees, "regulatory recovery" fees, data plan "repuirements", and data caps, none of which are intended to buy YOU anything. They are assessed primarily to provide profits to them and dividends to their investors, along with a source of capital expenditure for their network expansion whose sole purpose is to attract more customers to provide more revenue streams to meet their aforementioned fiduciary duty to serve their executives and investors ever greater profits and dividends. And in this country, that is ALL this wireless game is about. EVERYTHING else, be it customer service, value of service, loyalty or anything else, is secondary.
And you think other carriers are any different? Nope. They all are in this for the exact same game, however they choose to play it, plan for plan, fee for fee. Sure, details differ, some plans might look more appealing and for some, prudent shopping around might even net some nominal cost savings, but all in all, they pretty much charge the same fees and require the same data plans, because that's where the big bucks are, and one way or another you will pay them or you will do without (which might be a blessing in disguise).
I personally don't like this any more than you do, and I would favor strong federal regulatory oversight much as they have in Europe Latin America and Asia, along with homogenized network infrastructure which stimulates competition by allowing easy interoperability of phones and devices irrespective of carrier, but I fear it will be a cold day in hell before we ever see the likes of that here. According Republican thinking, that's just not the "American Way."

  • Wireless Manager RAS Connection keeps popping up

Thinkpad T400 with Windows XP 7417-CTO
The WirelessManagerRASConnection dialer dialog keeps popping up whenever there is a slight variation in signal strength
from my Netgear wireless router.Unless I cancel out of this dialog, I cannot connect to my wireless router.
In fact I suspect this popup is disabling my connection.
I do not have a broadband wireless account, nor do I plan to use this anytime soon.
How can I  keep this annoying dialog from popping up all the time?

I have had the same problem ever since I downgraded to XP.  The only partial solution I have found is to delete the Wireless RAS Manager from Network Connections.  It reappears every time I reboot.  If anyone finds a permenant solution I love to hear it.

  • Is there any way to disable wireless management access on the Airport Extreme?

I know that Linksys routers allow you to disable accessing any of the management features over a wireless connection.
Is there any way to do this on the Airport Extreme?  It seems like a security hole to not be able to shut this down and something that should be a feature of a $180 router.

Technically that's not true; brute force is always an option (though I use a key that's somewhere around 30+ characters, so it's unlikely).
I'm aware that having a serious amount of entropy in both the router password and the WPA key is enough to stop the vast majority of attacks.
All of that aside, I still prefer the ability to completely shut down this option.
I'm aware now that this router doesn't have that feature, but I'm hopeful that perhaps this thread shows up on Apple's radar somehow and they add the feature in the future.
    I appreciate your replies.

  • Wireless Management - Local Controller vs. Cloud

    Good afternoon,
We are currently looking to upgrade (re-design) our wireless network at our college.
I was curious if anyone had any experience going from a local, controller-based wireless network to a cloud-based controller? If so, what have you found the pros and cons to be?
If you thought about going to a “cloud solution”, what stopped you?
In addition, any other feedback on Meracki, Aerohive, Aruba, or other solutions would be much appreciated.
    About Us
We are currently running wireless at our 3 primary campus locations, and looking to add it to our 3 satellite locations.
We use 4402 WLCs at our primary locations with a mix of 1140 and 1240 APs.

The advantage of using local controller are
    1.Lower Operational Expenses
2.Easier Way to Scale with Optimal Design
3.Single Location to Apply Wired and Wireless Services
In addition, certain controllers, such as Cisco Wireless Services Module (WiSM) blades on the Cisco Catalyst® 6500 Series Switches, perform various other functions, including application inspection using the Cisco Network Analysis Module, enhanced security with a full stateful firewall and intrusion detection system, and more. Placing the controller in a centralized location simplifies N+1 or N+N redundancy, depending on the size of the network. This redundancy means that for each wireless controller (N) there is at least one backup controller (+1). The backup controller is not positioned to actively contribute to normal system operation but provides a reliable way to protect the network in case of any failure or downtime on the component being used to manage network access
The advatage of using cloud based controller
1.The Cisco Flex 7500 Series Cloud Controllers are used for this.
2.you can consolidate multiple controllers in to one controller with support up to 6000 access points and 64,000 clients from data center
3.Gain significant saving in operatins by configuring , managing and troubleshooting 6000 AP's and 64,000 clients in single pint of touch
    4. When traffic is directed to the controller in FlexConnect Central switched mode, the Flex7500 Series supports Application Visibility and Control (AVC). AVC includes the NBAR-2 engine, Cisco's deep packet inspection (DPI) capability that classifies applications, applies quality of service (QoS) to either drop or mark the traffic, and prioritizes business-critical applications in the network. AVC uses NetFlow Version 9 to export the flows. The Cisco Flex 7500 Series in central switched mode also supports Bonjour Services Directory to enable Bonjour Services to be advertised and utilized in a separate Layer 3

  • Refactoring the wireless management pages

    Hi,
I would like to discuss the refactoring of the management part of the Wireless setup page, as I find it awkward to follow. Firstly, it is not clear about the different management options (rc.conf + wireless_tools or netcfg or other higher level manager) and is confusing when it comes to using unencrypted, WEP or WPA wifi networks. I have already added a note that the /etc/rc.conf examples are for WEP, that WPA users should use wpa_supplicant and anyway should avoid mixing rc.conf and netcfg methods. But still that is not entirely satifactory. Moreover, the wpa_supplicant page is redundant when it comes to wifi management. I realise that for beginners this may be very confusing.
Maybe that would be nice to merge wpa_supplicant and wireless setup pages, and reorder management explanations this way:
    - explain the difference between encryption methods
    - explain manual configure: for unencrypted/WEP using iwscan, iwconfig and ifconfig; for WPA the same + wpa_supplicant. Remind the wpa traps (waiting between association and IP query). It is always good to have the manual setup as it shows how things are setup and helps debugging.
    - how to make it persistent:
       - adding a wifi interface to /etc/rc.conf like for a wired network is possible but limited: only for unencrypted/WEP and not suitable for roaming
       - using network managers and network profiles: should replace /etc/rc.conf method (to avoid conflicts). Some managers manage all kind of networks: netcfg, NetworkManager etc... or the wifi specific ones (wicd, wlassistant, etc.)
    What do you think ?

    u_no_hu wrote:Nice work......
A few troubleshooting tips at the end will make it perfect....
Thanks! Regarding the troubleshooting tips, there are already a lot in WPA Supplicant and Network Profiles pages. Maybe that would be nice to assemble them all together. But that's another piece of work. Maybe what I can do is to provide the links.

  • NCS Prime Wireless Management

    Hello,
We have recently purchased Cisco NCS Prime for our Cisco Wireless project. Before installation we need to confirm that NCS
prime will be compatible with ESXi v5.0, as the release notes refer to
    ESXi v4.0 and v4.1 only.

    Many thanks

    Hi Chris,
    1. No.
    2. There is a symptom of the following bug:
CSCtw52442  NCS: Lobby Ambassador user can access the home page.
Installing Chrome frame plugin for IE browser in NCS is a requirement as documented in the release notes. This caveat is to address the issue where lobby ambassador users are getting access to the NCS home page to which they have no privileges for. For your IE users, install chrome frame plugin which should take care of it.
