Wireless Media Transfer PROBLEM

So, I've got my Z1C in here, trying to pair it with my PC through cable, and both are connected on the same network.
I tried from the phone itself "Settings>Xperia Connectivity>Wireless Transfer" , then following the steps, I end up with confirmation from my PC, and I get a "Finish" message from my mobile saying it will connect automatically when I unplug the cable, so I go ahead and do it, and it takes forever till it tries to connect but with no hope and ends up with " Not Connected " on my phone, and I can't even access it from my PC.
I also tried using a similar method from SONY PC COMPANION, which pretty much didn't even give me a confirmation message, but an error instead.
Any help ?

I have the same problem. I installed air droid and I gave up trying...

  • X6_32GB-Media Transfer Problem

when i connected my X6 to PC in Media Transfer Mode, The green arrow icon(Safely Remove Hardware) in taskbar showing many times 'Found New Device'..and the USB symbol in my X6 juz keep blinking/flashing..Help????
Faster coz Comes With Music must activate within 2 months..

Thanks for the reply, Jimmy but I have always save the mp3s into phone memo (C: Phone Memory). Do you have any other idea why this is happening?
I found out something new today. If it was a call by unknown person which are not in my Contact list, the ringing tone is the mp3 (although it only happened once, so I'm not sure if this is the case). However if the caller is from my contact (which contains image), the ringing tone is default.
Any idea how to solve this problem?

  • N95-2 & Nokia PC Suite media transfer problems

Finally convinced O2 to let me have a N95-2 for less than a kings ransom, and for the most part I love it. The only problem I have is that I cannot load music from my pc to the phone, and upload videos to the pc. I think I am using the correct software, for music I have tried Win Media Player in Media Player usb mode with the cable and bluetooth, and Nokia music manager with Nok PC suite, again with both connections. As for video, I am using the autoloading PS starter program, but it just won't pick up the videos; there is no problem with photos or the free tracks I d/ld from Nokia, direst to the phone.
I am usually pretty good with this sort of thisng, as far as I can tell both bluetooth ( phone and pc dongle), and data cable are fine, and it is making me feel retarded and tarnishing my love for a coveted toy. Has anyone else had this, or can you point me to help? It is pointless ringing O2 for help, and I don't think Nokia has a helpline.

The problem I am having with my n95-8gb is this: when I transfer music using the pc suite to the phone, the playlists get transferred to the phone but do not show up in the phone's music player. They can be found on the file manager but don't show up in the player.
when I transfer music using the data transfer mode, the organised playlist folders get all messed up on the phone. the individual songs only show up on the unknown artist folder. The albums aren't shown as albums/folders so it's impossible to listen to albums in their original order and worse: when there are thousands of songs without names in one single "unknown" folder finding a given song is impossible. is there any fix to this?
I can't update my firmware since I'd lose the options that came with my subscription with the operator.

  • Mac Media Transfer Error 208

    Hello,
I just got an N95 which I have updated to the latest firmware. I have a 2GB SanDisk card inside.
I've used the Mac Media Transfer software to browse my device and copy to iPhoto.
Things get strange when using the music sync. It's worked on only a couple of occassions. Most of the time it thinks about it 'preparing to transfer' and then stops with an error 208!!
I was wondering what this meant?
If there is no memory card it will sync fine so I think it may be the card.
I've formated the memory card and Nokia Maps runs fine from it.
I keep all my media on an external hard disk but iTunes has no problem playing from here and the n95 transfers to iPhoto fine through this.
    I've got an iBook G4 Mac OS X 10.4.10 (8R218)
    N95-1 firmware 12.0.013
    Any ideas??

Sounds like a bad file that's being hit by the transcoding process, but not without the memory card because the file wouldn't fit on the device in that case.
I can suggest you to upgrade to NMT 1.3 Beta(if you are using old version) otherwise you have to try finding the bad file.
Start tranfer with 1 file, then add more and more until it breaks again.

It will help me to serve you better !!!!!

  • Media Transfer 1.41 deletes all music files

When i updated media transfer to 1.41 this problem apeared:
it first deletes all music files on the phone before it syncs them.
If i sync one mp3 file it takes 1-2 hours for media sync to first delete all files ant then copy all files to the phone.
(I have over 4gig of music on my memory card.)
I did not have this problem with the 1.4 version.

I have a few comments/bug reports (I have also submitted these through the app).
    BUGS:
    1. The app seems to force conversion of perfectly normal AAC files created in iTunes (.m4a). The files are converted to... AAC!!!
There is no need for this conversion as the files play fine on the phone (N95)
Both files created with iTunes standard ACC settings and with a custom VBR settings are converted.
MP3 files are transferred without conversion.
    2. Bookmarked AAC files (.m4b) are not converted or transferred (they are ignored) - many podcasts use this format and they play fine in iTunes and QuickTime.
(Edit - it seems iTunes and OS X treat these files as protected, even though they are not - also the N95 will not play the files if copied without conversion).
    FEATURE/ENHANCEMENT REQUESTS:
    1. User prefence for caching - I have a 4GB memory card and may not be interested in having everything on it cached on my computer. When using USB2 the connection should be fast enough for viewing/streaming from the phone.
    2. The viewing in the browser is a bit confusing - when e.g. the memory card is selected it shows a lot of different files from different folders (I have TOMTOM maps on the card so a lot of useless files are showing) It would be nice to either be able to select which files are shown, or just make the browser work normally, so it is only showing files in the current folder (selecting the memory card would show the root folder).
    3. Options for conversions (e.g. "Do not convert files with a bitrate below xxx kbps").
I look forward to the next version - if the 2 bugs are fixed this is already a very solid app.
Great to see real OS X support.Message Edited by peter321 on 09-Jun-200707:31 PM

Most likely you have a driver problem. Are you using Nokia PC Suite or OVI Suite?

  • E71X: wrong mode for media transfer, Nokia Ovi Pla...

I know this subject has been touched on before, but I'm frustrated!  I connect my e71x to the USB port with the cable, and select PC Suite mode.  I go into Nokia PC Suite, and then select Explore Ovi Music.  That invokes the Nokia Ovi Player, which tells me "your Nokia device is connected in the wrong mode for music transfer.  To connect in the right mode, try unplugging and reconnecting your device and ... choose one of the following: Media Player, Printing & Media, Media Transfer".  It also says to click on a "connect" button, but that doesn't do anything.
So I unplug and reconnect my E71x, which I have configured to prompt me on connection.  I select Media Transfer per the above message.  Then I get the information: "connecting your device: 1) Connect your mobile or MTP-compatible  device to your PC using a compatible USB cable, 2) on the device, select the mode that allows you to transfer media and, if prompted, select OK".
It appears that Nokia Ovi Player does not respond to either mode PC Suite or Media Transfer.  I tried reinstalling, and the version of Nokia Ovi Player I have is 2.0.1106.00.  The version of Nokia PC Suite is 7.1.40.1 - both should be pretty current!   Any ideas?

I have just tried to use the Ovi Player for the first time and encountered the same problems as above on my 6500 Slide.  I had issues with the Ovi Suite (which I recently uninstalled) only to find that the Nokia Suite had adopted 'Ovi Player' for transferring music. Why? It worked perfectly!  I've read a few posts on both features,  and, it seems that the new programmes aren't going down too well with users! Are Nokia going to iron out these problems, and, how did they release this new software with so many inherent faults?  Anyone out there any solutions as to how I can transfer music from my PC (Windows Vista home premium) to my mobile in the meantime.

  • ¿IS N81 FULLY COMPATIBLE WITH NOKIA MEDIA TRANSFER...

I am looking for buying one N81, but I am Mac user. is this phone fully compatible with Nokia Media Transfer software?
    Anyone has experience on it?
    Thanks a lot.

    Hello,
I have a N81 and have used Nokia Media Transfer since it came out. I have had no problems. It works really well. Syncing with iTunes is wonderful.

  • Connecting to wireless media player (Magicbox IMP) using Airport

We've just bought a Magicbox IMP (internet radio/media player) and have been assured that it will work on a Mac. The only time I've used airport before was to connect to a wireless broadband router (which I'm not using at the moment as it's in another location). Even without that, I should be able to connect to the IMP to play my iTunes files, according to Magicbox. I have set up a new wireless computer-to-computer network (using 'create network' in the drop-down airport menu). When I tell the IMP to search for networks it finds the network but then returns a 'network error' message: "Wireless configuration invalid. Bad ESSID or wrong key". I have been through all the possible settings with the tech support at Magicbox and they have now said the problem is in the network setup. Apple tech support say I have set the network up correctly and can help me no futher. So a classic stalemate. Has anyone out there had any experience of Magicbox IMP or any other type of wireless media player and can give me some guidance please? Many thanks.

What are the benefits of extending a wireless network then ?
Unfortunately, you are not extending your wireless network since the Express is not compatible with your router for that purpose.
The benefits to extending a wireless network...assuming that your Express is working with a compatible wireless router.....are the same as "joining" with the added plus that the Express is also providing more wireless signal, so the wireless signal strength will be provided over a greater area.
Another question is, the only purposes of joining a wireless network are for AirTunes, and remote printing ?
As I mentioned above, the Express can be used for AirTunes or a remote printer when it is configured to "join" a network. It can only "extend" a wireless network when it is used with another Apple product. In that case, the Express is configured to "extend a wireless network".
