Wireless Mesh losing connectivity

My client has a Cisco 2504 controller running 7.5.102.0 code.  They have 2602E APs as Mesh Root AP and Mesh APs.  The distance between the antennas is approximately 30 feet.  The client is complaining of constant drops.  To date I have configured preferred partent on both mesh APs, and dropped min tx rates to lower multi-path issues in this manufacturing environment.
This is from the output from today's event log:

Hi,
After performing the site survey, select low noise channel on the access-points, yes it seem due to the interference clients are dropping their connection.

  • Wireless Keyboard losing connection while BT headset in use

    Hi,
I got a Samsung SBH500 Stereo Headset, and when I'm listening to music and using my Apple Wireless Keyboard and Apple Mighty Mouse, the keyboard keep losing connections.
Already tried to trash the preference file, change the Favorite status of everything, but the problem goes on and on.
While writing this post the connection was lost twice, and it's becoming frustrating...
    Help, please.

I decide to run some test.
    1) Wireless Keyboard + Wireless Headset + Wired Mouse works fine.
    2) Wireless Mouse + Wireless Headset + Internal Keyboard works fine.
    3) This is obvious, but to said i tried: Wireless Keyboard + Wireless Mouse works fine.
    So here's what I'm thinking...
A software/firmware problem with the Macs bluetooth or the headset uses way too much data so 3 devices is too much. I don't think is too much data, because if it wore probably would disconnect the devices randomly, not only the keyboard.

  • Wireless Receivers Losing Connection

Thank you very much for the helpful responses. We have made it a week without a single drop out after I re-cabled the WAP with a longer Ethernet cord, which is now 10 feet away from the RG. Both wireless receivers in our home seem to be working beautifully. I would like to commend the technicians who curate this forum. I could have easily just called AT&T customer service, but I fear a sales person would have only thrown new a receiver/WAP/RG at the problem without truly trying to diagnose my issue. You guys saved me a lot of time and frustration. Thank you.

No it is not the norm....Are you in a single family home, large lot size or a close living situation such as apartment, condo, small lot size with many other homes near. When dealing with wireless devices interference is always a potential problem. The WAP is direct connected to RG (yellow port) not a switch or other device. If issue is not a loose or flaky connection between the RG (yellow port) and WAP (Ethernet cable), and known solid power supply connection (WAP not losing power). There is at least three feet, ideally 5 or more, of separation between the RG and WAP (not side by side). Do not suspect distance or material passing through problem (number of bars). Then possible issue is interference from another WAP (close living arrangements) where the channels are changing as each WAP tries to find best frequency on 5Ghz band. A dual band router could also be issue.  If have android device recommend free app WiFi Analyzer, can shoe both 2.4 and 5 range, if on 5 seeing other Ciscos may need to consider hardwiring (Ethernet) the receiver to RG and get off wireless. Another app is inSSIDer has both free (limited devices shown) and paid (shows all devices seen). As WAP / wireless receiver are 5 GHz other possible devices that could affect is wireless headphones, etc.... Have not checked to see if bluebtooths are now doing 5, but know bluebtooths were 2.4 along with microwaves (still 2.4) and a whole list of other devices.

  • Wireless printer losing connection hourly.

I currently have a Cisco 4400 wireless controller running 7.0.116.  We use Cisco 1262, 1242 and 1210 Access Points. I am fairly new to all this. Our issue is that we have a wireless laser device that runs fine for about 1 hour and then loses connection. I can not ping the device and the web page via IP is no longer reachable. The printer regains connection after a power off/on. I have talked with the manufacturer and supplied logs to them and they say they do not see anything. Other devices in the office are running fine. I am wondering if there is a setting closing idle ports. The only clue I have it that it appears to be when the device is idle.

We have gone 3 hours now without issue, there was one change made. I noticed that the time on the printer was manually set and lagged the network time by 6 minutes. I corrected that and we have been without issue since. Without a time server paying attention does the 4400 WLC or WPA2-PSK/AES have any sensitivity to that? Security time out caused by time issue on peripheral device?
I have moved this discussion to the Cisco Enterprise Product group. #3369390

  • Wireless Keyboard losing connection - Mouse acting funky

I keep getting a "connection lost" message and then have to "wake up" the keyboard. I just changed the batteries in both the wireless mighty mouse & wireless keyboard. The mouse keeps getting very "choppy" and unresponsive, then straightens out after a few minutes. Also lots of keyrepeats. The problem has been here for a while but seems to be getting worse. All software & firmware is up to date. When I turn on the keyboard the light only stays on for a few seconds then goes out.
    Dave

There should be four tiny wires with round connectors, each labelled "1" "2" "3" and "BT". 1-3 are for the Airport card and BT is for Bluetooth.
Try these pics to help you to identify the cable and the bluetooth module:

  • Wireless Mouse Losing Connection

Anyone else having this problem? It just cuts out and I get the picture on the screen saying "Connection Lost." It doesn't seem to matter what I'm doing. I have an new, extra bluetooth mouse (because I'm clumsy and have tile floors...) and that one won't work either. So, I resort to the wired mouse from my old computer. I've tried new batteries, too, even though there was no warning of them running out of power.
    Any thoughts?

I usually turn my BT mouse off and flip it upside down so when the computer comes on next morning at 6, it's not paired.
This morning I turned it on, flipped it to working pose and it didn't pair quickly at all. With fresh batteries, it would work for only a few minutes, then lose its connection.
    Over and over and over.
A full re-boot seems to have fixed it, but one is always suspicious after a software update comes in as happened yesterday with iMovie 9.0.2.

  • Been losing connection for magic mouse and wireless keyboard

When I have my MBP running Mavericks in clamshell mode, I lose connections to both magic mouse and apple wireless keyboard in clamshell mode. I've tried all the PRAM SCM, aluminum foil and paper tricks. What I then did was test what happens when I leave the MBP open rather than in clamshell mode and it appears to avoid losing connection, at least that is what I've concluded with Mavericks for now..... anyone else able to replicate this? Having to leave the MBP open is not ideal.

Barry, thanks, still not working.  I've tried every thing I can think of or have read, what I'm concluding is that there is either a problem with Mavericks or something has changed on how bluetooth works in Mavericks. Did not have this problem for the last 4 years. I can reproduce the problem when I close the laptop. I had the Bluetooth and wireless card checked out and replaced about 3 weeks ago. Problem has continued.

  • HT2845 why does my wireless mouse keep losing connection?

    Good morning,
My wireless mouse keeps losing connection...my batteries are at 100% and the "discoverable" option is checked off.  Why is this happening?

    Hi:
PRAM=parameter random access memory - reset like this:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11243
SMC=system management controller reset like this:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
Sometimes resetting these "fixes" odd problems - and it cannot hurt.
To make a device a favorite, go to system preferences>bluetooth.  Highlight the device.  If detailed information is not shown, click oin the little gear>show more info.  Then click on the gear again and make the device a favorite.

  • Wireless N WRT300, Constantly Losing Connection

This router Constantly loses the internet connection, and I am HARD WIRED to this router, is this not somthing they should have mastered Ages ago?
The wireless signal is Weak and constantly loses it's connection.
I've tried calling them to fix it, I've changed the MTU, from 1500, to 1400, to 1300 etc, etc, I 've also set it to auto.... nothing.
Every so often the internet connection Drops, the only way to fix it, is to Unplug the router and plug it back in. Soon as this is done the internet works instantly again. I can see the wireless being buggy, but NOT the hardwire, there is NO excuse for this.
And to boot I just love how bestbuy wont allow any exchanges on this type of hardware, And cannot return it, and I cannot exchange it for a different router. I can only echange it for the exact same make and model of router.

I also have the wrt300N router. I am losing connection all the time either wirelessly or wired. When the router works it is blazing fast, but every 2-5 minutes it just HANGS which is REALLY ANNOYING!
I have updated the firmware. This happens on my wired XP machine, my wireless XP, or on my apple laptop. It is not the computers becuase my old wireless router (linksys i forget the number, but it was a b system at least 4-5 years old) did not have this issue....
I saw on some threads that port forwarding may help? Is this a solution? Anyone have any ideas? Clearly by reading the posts this is not an isolated problem....

  • Wireless Keyboard keeps losing connection

My wireless keyboard started getting hung up on a key and continues to to type it until the KB loses connection. Then it reconnects and sometimes repeats this several times before it starts working normally again.
It has also just been randomly losing connection without hanging up on a key.
Batteries are new and the iMac/keyboard and mouse is less than a year old.
    Any thoughts?
Mouse is losing connection too at times, but nothing like the keyboard.

    Hello B:
One thing to try is to make the devices "favorites" Directions for that are in other posts of mine.
However, the keyboard (from your description) could be faulty. Since it is less than one year old, I suggest you call Applecare with a warranty issue. I had a KB replaced (in warranty) a couple of years ago. Apple replaced it and paid the shipping both ways.

  • Losing connection to HP7520 on wireless network

I probably would be OK if I only had one pc but I have 3 - Win8, Win7, and Vista. Tech support had to install printer after downloading software from HP. Apparently disc is worthless.
It was installed using an IP address which I think was a mistake. IP addresses change and this may be the issue here.
When I am on the WIn8 or Win7 pc the printer goes offline or is not connected.
Question: should I share the 7520 on al pcs or none at all?
Question: If I disable my security software firewall, should the printer be found and installed on wireless network OK?
Part of my problem and confusion about this issue is how the printer is defined when viewing Printers on each pc. There are HP 7520 Series, HP 7520 Series(networking), HP 7520 Series(Fax) - to name a few - depends on the pc OS.
Some definitions have the IP address shown when viewing the printer properties, and other definitions show the serial number. I have installed a lot of HP printers on a wireless net and never had these issues.
Any ideas on why I keep losing connectivity to printer?

    Hi jghiller,
Question: should I share the 7520 on al pcs or none at all?
The printer should not be shared from one computer to another.  Each computer can directly access the printer.
Question: If I disable my security software firewall, should the printer be found and installed on wireless network OK?
The firewall can cause problems, but not like they used to.  With this being a current printer, most firewalls should work fine with the printer.
    Dropping from the network:
    There are multiple possibilities.
    1. Try turning off UPnP in the printer embedded web server.  Type the IP of the printer into a web browser to access the EWS.  On the network tab, selecting Networking on the left side and then UPnP.
    2. If your router supports double width data channels, try changing the router to use single width channel.  You will need to access the EWS of the router.  Most routers will say either default or double.  There might be a number listed instead.  Try setting the router to 20Mhz channel width.
    3. Also, setting a static IP for the printer could be a good idea.  That way the printer IP won't change and possibly get lost by the computers.  This setting also appears in the printer EWS.

  • Wireless losing connection?

    Hey guys,
Had Infinity for a day and a half now, and sometimes my laptop (and wireless PC) drop connection.  It's for a couple of seconds, but it's enough to cancel any downloads, stop any browsing etc.
I've tried changing the channels (as well as looking at inssider), but still no luck.  Looking at the event log, it seems that it issues DHCPs a lot - is this the cause, or a result, of the connection drops?   I've changed the refresh time to 21 days.
Last time I had an issue with wireless, it was with Sky, and they sent me a new router - it was fine after that.

as you are now trying to conenct to a new HH3 I would check to make sure the drivers for my wireless cards are up to date.  I would check the manufacturer's website for updates and not rely on windows update

  • Wireless losing connection to wired network and lan

I have a customer that has an 871W ISR. They are using WEP encryption and a mix of b and g cards. Recently they have started losing connection to all of their wired network resources and the wan, but they don't lose association with the 871W itself. They show excellent signal strangth and keep their IPs. A reboot of the router immediately fixes the problem. There seems to be no pattern or common event that triggers any of this. Anyone else seen this problem before? It started happening after I did a sh tech and the router locked up halfway through it, so I had to reboot. I've reloaded the image thinking that may fix the problem and it has not.

You can clear the interface statistics on the Detailed Status tab, and let traffic run for a time, then refresh the statistics. The ratio of errors to good packets sent and received should be better than it was prior to the test.

  • Windows 8 keeps losing connectivity

Hi, not sure if this is unique but for the past few weeks Windows 8 has been losing connectivity every few minutes when browsing web pages, playing games etc. I am sure it's windows 8 as I have another work laptop using XP that I can be on all day via a
VPN and that does not drop at all (it would normally drop within a few seconds of losing connectivity). I've done a lot of searching on the net for the same issue, others seem to be having similar things happen such as slow speed but can't find anything that
    matches, hence this separate question.
I have also tried swapping routers to no avail. The thing is, you wouldn't know anything had happened from the network connectivity. Suddenly a page won't load. The wireless connectivity at the bottom right of the screen shows a full 5 bars (not limited
connectivity). The way to get it back again is to leave it for a few minutes or disconnect from the router and reconnect again. Even whilst typing this I have had to do that twice.
    I'd appreciate some suggestions!
    Many Thanks, Paul.

    Hi,
Does this issue occur with both wireless and wired?
I suggest to perform these tests to troubleshoot the issue:
1 Update NIC card for your machine
2 Temporary disable firewall and antivirus program
3 Logon with Safe Mode with Networking
4 Update framework for your router.

  • Wireless Internet Access (Cisco IP NGN or Cisco Wireless Mesh Networkin)??

    Dear Cisco Wireless Team
Please educate us on where to start, or the CISCO product we might need to purchase
We are trying to branch out a new Internet wireless access and wireless phone service business in our company, and presently looking for the right Cisco product solution to purchase to enable us offer this service in LAGOS, NIGERIA.
The service will be rendered in Africa, the country NIGERIA, and the city LAGOS.
We would like to mount or install the product in Lagos, Nigeria.
As we are new to this kind of service. We would appreciate if the Cisco wireless team can work with us in pointing or directing on the right product to purchase and what are required. We understand the Cisco Wireless Mesh Networking Solution, Cisco IP Generation Network, Cisco 12416 or 7600 Series Router might be the right products to purchase, but we are not sure on what needed or what are required to meet our service need.
Possibly we would like to offer Wireless Internet Access to unlimited subscribers, and also Wireless or Mobile Phone service to unlimited subscribers in Nigeria.
    Anticipating your reply

I suppose Cisco Wireless Mesh Networking would be a good choice. The Cisco mesh architecture makes it easy to scale coverage as capacity needs dictate, including increasing access point density; adding wired connections, controllers, and radios; and using dual high-powered, high-sensitive radios and a selection of high-gain antennas.Refer the document for IP NGN in the following URL http://www.cisco.com/en/US/netsol/ns537/networking_solutions_solution_category.html
