Wireless mouse issues with technical preview

I installed the technical preview with no problem on my laptop running windows 7 - except now the wireless mouse (Microsoft 4000) does not work and is not found when I try to trouble shoot. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Michael,
Regarding current information, I recommend to check the setupapi.dev.log under %windir%\inf, locate the device (wireless mouse) and find the line under this device name as below:
dvi:             Rank         - 0x00000000
Then, corresponds the score in this link:
Identifier Score
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff546297(v=vs.85).aspx
The value 0x00003000 is the best identifier score and the value 0x00003FFF is the worst identifier score.
The score near 0x00003FFF means that the driver and device may not compatible with current system.
Since Windows 10 tech preview is the newest released version and still in test, we may need to wait for the menufacturer’s driver update to compatible with Windows 10.
Thanks for your understanding.

The only one that will work with OSX is the one you order with the Mac Pro from Apple. The others don't have the correct firmware for OSX.
I've also noticed that the online store lets have an option for the QuadroFX 5800 to purchase with a Mac Pro
No, it's the NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600. That is the only way to get it. NVIDIA does not sell it directly.

Wacom or Bluetooth Mouse issues with most recent Beta??
All I was wondering if anyone was having issues with Lightrooms beta and pointing devices… while I’m sure the Wacom Introus4 is dying in Lightroom I can’t verify that my Mouse is as well.
I’m using the most recent Beta of Lightroom and Wacom Tablet Driver 615-3a… I’m sure the issue dosent reside with another program because the tablet only stops working in Lightroom. Basically I loose all tablet functionality until I reboot whin I attempt to access the Film Strip… I’ve repeated a few times and with each it dies…

Unfortunately, although you are getting problems with your Wacom and Lr, the solution for the short term is to re-install an older driver for the tablet until Wacom come up with a new update to fix the prolem. This has been a long running problem for users when operating Lr with Wacom tablets.
(I offer this solution not from personal experience, but from what other tablet users have reported in previous threads, and there have been several).

  • Serious mouse issues with GTK

my mouse and touchpad for my laptop have always worked without any sort of problem. i recently switched to openbox from gnome and it's been a wonderful experience so far. i tried cleaning out unnecessary gnome stuff and installed KDE to toy with it a little. needless to say shortly afterwards i ditched KDE and switched back to openbox, only to discover my mouse being screwed. i can move the cursor around and such but after a few seconds of running my ability to click and right-click is gone. i tried re-installing gnome completely hoping it might effect it and logged into a gnome session instead but the problem is persisting here as well. if i am using my mouse in a window, i cannot select anything on the panels with it whatsoever without repeatedly right clicking in the window close to the panel and then clicking the panel. and whenever i have the panel selected i can interact with it fine but cannot switch over to any windows. it's making me believe there's something going on with the mouse thinking it's "stuck" on the panel or window so clicking outside of it is rendered useless. i really don't know, i've tried searching online and such for any help on the topic but could not find anything and this is my final resort before going completely mad. any help would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: i've tried toying with settings in gnome in regards to the mouse and stuff, basically just doing anything i possibly can and while using a window from the control panel for the mouse and clicking within it i started opening a ton of control panel items (appearance, etc.) leading me to believe it's definitely an issue of the mouse being stuck in a window or something.

Your mouse is handled by xorg, so you need to make sure it's configured correctly. "mouse issues with GTK" simply doesn't make any sense.
My guess is that somewhere in the middle of changing WM/DE, you also did a system upgrade (a good thing) without reading Arch news (a bad thing), so you now have xorg 1.8 and you need to change your config accordingly.

  • Wireless Mouse  Issues on Restart with Snow Leopard

I have a late 2006 iMac (2.15 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) with an Apple wireless mouse. I just installed Snow Leopard and everything seems to be fine with one exception. Upon Restart, the mouse becomes disabled. The only way to get it to work is to move the slider under the mouse back and forth--that seems to re-establish the connection at least until the next time I restart.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is there a solution?

This is also happening on my MBA(1st gen). Wireless keyboard as well.

  • Thinkpad X1 Mouse Issues with USB 3.0 Dock and WIndows 8.1

I have a new X1 (3444-CUU) that I recently upgraded to Windows 8.1. When I connected to the Thinkpad USB 3.0 Dock, there was an automatic updated of the firmware on the docking station.
Everything seems to be working except issues with my Keyboard and Mouse.Periodically, the mouse will disappear of the keyboard will simply stop working. Most recently, it was as if the delete key was stuck causing it to delete all my email (actually a feature I liked but unfortunately, can't allow).
Is there a known issue with wireless keyboard?

I have a possibly similar issue that seems to be related to the keyboard dock. In my case this is with logitec unified receiver, but what I found may help you narrow the issue's root cause.
I found that after a reboot, the dock's USB ports (bothh SS or USB 3.0) will not recognize logitech's unified receiver. Even though it is Windows reporting it, it seems to be related to the hardware. What I do to have minimally invasive 'functioning' system is to undock the Helix (use as tablet). This makes the genuine USB 2.0 port of the tablet accessible. I then plug the receiver into that port and wait until the mouse is recognized. Then remove the receiver, re-dock the tablet on the keyboard dock and plug the receiver into the dock's usb 3.0 port. Then everything works.
That seems to somehow circumvent part of the refreshing of the USB connected devices and allows them to work correctly.
I wonder if that addresses your issue. Of course I am opening another thread and ticket with that issue (will post a link after that)

I'm on a steep learning curve with the T431s. I am not able to "connect" the laser wireless mouse for use. What is the easiest installation method for the wireless mouse, that I may properly use it with the T431s? New machine and batteries.

    I do that regularly.
(But I fail to see how that should help with a bluetooth connection issue ...)
When you have Bluetooth connection issues, try re-pairing the hardware using the Bluetooth Setup Assistant.
Sorry, I forgot to mention that I did that at least twice, to no avail.
When there is a that "hickup" I've described, then Bluetooth Setup Assistant does not find the mouse at all. Power cycling the mouse does not help. Disabling bluetooth on the laptop and enabling it again does not help.

  • USB wireless mouse issues

Hi, I have been having issues with my MBP in regards to my USB wireless mouse. The problem is most noticeable when I am playing WoW. The mouse either stops responding or it lags for a bit. Thinking it was a WoW issue I contacted a GM who told me that it was a USB firmware issue that Apple has acknowledged. I am just wondering if there is indeed a firmware issue and is there an update or fix to solve the problem. Thanks.

  • Wireless Printing issues with HP Deskjet 2540

    Hello everyone,
I am experiencing an issue with an HP Deskjet 2540 printer - it prints if I have connected it to a USB cable; however, it refuses to print if I try to print wirelessly.
I had initially solved this problem when I went to System Preferences > Printers and Scanners and noticed two Deskjet 2540 series icons in a window titled 'Printers'. I ended up removing one of these icons and set the other one as a default, which seemed to temporarily solve my problem. Now, I see two icons back in this 'Printers' menu and my printer refuses to print through my wireless connection.
My printer is connected to my internet connection so I don't think there is an issue here - I also have recently installed the software for this printer to make sure there was not some sort of driver issue; however, this does not seem to give me the permanent solution I am looking for.
Any Advice? My operating system is OS X Version 10.9.5

    Hey @love2dance,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!  I understand you're having difficulty printing wirelessly with your HP Deskjet 2540 All-in-One Printer.  I would like to assist you with this and may have some steps that will ensure you can print wirelessly from your Mac.
I recommend you start from scratch and re-do your printer install and wireless setup for best results.
Firstly, make doubly sure your printer is connected to your wireless network by doing the following:
Step one: Prepare for installationTo gather your network name (SSID) and password (WEP key or WPA passphrase), you can ask the person who originally set up your network, see the documentation that came with the router, or contact the manufacturer. HP cannot set up or change the network SSID or the password.
Make sure that you have the following requirements before you begin:
Network name: The network name is the SSID (Service Set Identifier).
WEP key or WPA security passphrase
A computer that is connected to the wireless network.
Internet access. HP recommends broadband Internet access such as cable or DSL.
Your wireless-capable HP product. Place it close to the computer during the installation procedure.
A USB cable (used only during installation).
    Administrator privileges or password
Make sure the product, access point, and computer are all on, and that the computer is connecting to the wireless network.
Connect the USB Cable to the rear port of the HP product and to any USB port on the computer.
Exit all applications running on your computer.
    Source
Secondly, prepare your Mac by removing any existing printers added:
Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu.
Choose Print & Scan from the View menu.
Click the "-" (Remove printer) button.
Next, click here to download and install your printer's software.  As you work your way through the setup, follow the prompts to convert your usb install to wireless.  With this setup completed successfully your wireless printing capability should be restored.
One way to preserve this wireless connection is to make sure your wireless mode/router is left on continually.  If at anytime your network connection is lost, reconnecting your printer will mean that it's being assigned a new IP address.  The significance here is that your Mac will be looking to connect with the printer at an IP address that is no longer applicable.
Please let me know the result of your troubleshooting by responding to this post.  Best of luck!

  • MacBook and MacBook Pro with 10.6:  Wireless Airport Issues with Cisco

Long Story but please bear with me:
Loaded SL on my daughters MacBook and my MacBook Pro. Internet worked flawlessly at our house (WEP encrypted) and on other public wifi. When my daughter went back to her sorority house at college 24 hours later, she could not access the internet using the sorority house network (Cisco Aironet 1800 router and Cisco Airo Access Points).
Her Airport on the MacBook appeared connected at full strength yet no internet. Two calls to Apple support (they were very nice) did not help. All the following were tried:
    1. Reset PRAM
    2. Deleted Airport and Safari plists
    3. Edited locations
    4. Removed Battery
    5. Others I cannot now remember
Still no net. However, she could 'pirate' and hop on line with other identified public wifi adjacent to the sorority house. I drove to the sorority house today and tried to get on the network wirelessly using my MacBook Pro with SL. Same identical results to hers. Another MacBook without SL works great and gets right on the network.
Is this some SL influenced issue with the Airport card and the Cisco system? Weird that both of our laptops work great with several other wifi networks but not the one at the sorority house.
Could much of what we all our seeing with the internet access problem lie not with issues within our software or computers but with the routers and access points not being compatible? I have very little understanding of this stuff (as you all can probably tell) but the Apple Support people acted like it was a old firmware issue with Cisco and not with SL. Not actually what I wanted to hear.
    Any ideas or suggestions?

Your description there, particularly the last part, sounds like my problem. At home, we connect using Airport and ADSL which was OK, once SL had sorted out passwords.
At my office, where there are two wifi systems, I could not get on either, although did have IP numbers on both. The link to the outside world is via a proxy which uses a PAC file. Network Diagnostics reported each time (whatever I did) that the link to the server was OK, but the Internet was not.
I created a new Location with identical settings (typing them in and not copying) and the only visible difference is that the new location has no DNS numbers -- I had not noticed that before. The moment I pressed, Apply, the computer was online.
I was guessing that there was a conflict in a .plist file somewhere; but now I wonder if DNS might have been the reason (the DNS number usually used is the one from the router itself).

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus - Wireless connection issues with Wireless Extender

I have a TPLink Wireless 300MBps wall plug extender to boost the wireless signal around my home.
When in use my OfficeJet fails to connect to the wireless network at all, even if you 're-configure' the wireless as a new connection from the printer.
Turn off the extender, reboot the printer, and voila - it connects within seconds.
Any ideas as to what I can try?

I think there are several things at play here.  The most suspicious is that the extender and the router are not the same brand.  There may be some protocol issues with this setup that the printer will never be happy with.
Can you move your main router and forget the extender?
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • I got a mouse issue with Photoshop.

When trying to use the brush or any tool, the tool doesn't Hold   drag. Clicking and holding to use the brush only creates the initial mark (dot). I have a MacBook Air and Photoshop Elements 11. I searched on the internet and people say its got to do with a program named Synergy but I really do not know. Hope you can help me.

    Hi,
We sincerely apologize for the problem customers are facing while using a trackpad with Photoshop Elements 11 & 12 on Mac OSX 10.10 (Yosemite).
We have been actively working with Apple to resolve this problem as quickly as possible. We're hopeful this will get completely resolved in an upcoming update of Yosemite(MAC 10.10).
In the meanwhile, you have two options to work around this problem:
    1. Option1: Use a mouse instead of the trackpad
    2. Option2: Install a plug-in which should workaround the problem
    Plug-in installation instructions:
    1. Close Photoshop Elements
    2. Download this zip file to a location you can easily find (e.g. your desktop)
    3. Unzip the file, WhiteWindowWorkaround.plugin, and move it to the Plug-In folder:
    • For Elements 12 – //Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 12/Support Files/Plug-Ins/
    • For Elements 11 - //Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 11/Support Files/Plug-Ins/
You can verify the plug-in is installed by launching the Photoshop Elements Editor and choosing Help > System Info... Scroll to the bottom of the text in the dialog and look for the plug-in name "WhiteWindowWorkaround.plugin".
Note: This plugin is a temporary workaround and should be used until this issue is addressed in Mac OSX 10.10 (Yosemite). Please remove this plugin once the issue is officially resolved by Apple.
If you are using a stylus in conjunction with a trackpad, you might see issues with your trackpad. Workaround in this particular case is to use mouse instead of the trackpad.
    Hope this helps!

  • Wireless connection issue with specific iPads

There seems to be a wireless issue with specific iPads. I sat with an Apple Genius in an adjacent Peets Coffee. His iPad connected on the first try after entering the access code. I had been trying all day with my iPad. This was after the Genius had me "Reset Network Settings" to return the factory defaults. Still no luck at Peets with my iPad. The coffee shop wireless signal on my iPad was 1 out of 3 bars. Yet this same iPad continues to have no issue connecting at the office or at home.

That's interesting. We also have the 64 GB Wi-Fi iPad. It connects fine at home, but only got one bar at the coffee shop and wouldn't connect this morning. Haven't tried it anywhere else yet.

  • Logitech wireless mouse issues

I know there has been quite a few threads about problems with Logitech peripherals not working properly with Yosemite, and I have read them all.  I figured I would throw this out there see if anyone has had this specific issue or any solutions.
I use the same logitech M325 usb mouse and receiver on 2 different macs. The mouse and receiver work fine on my MBP 15" retina, even after upgrading to Yosemite.
On my Early 2009 Mac Pro, the problem cropped up on the second day after the Yosemite upgrade.  Without the Logitech Control center software, any mouse click would bring up the dashboard.  the cursor would move but I couldn't select anything. After I installed the latest Logitech Control Center software, I can use the mouse and buttons, but the "hover" function does not.  I hide the dock on my desktop and I have to click on the side near it to make it appear rather than just moving the cursor like I did previously.  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the LCC software, tried uplugging and re-plugging the receiver.  Nothing fixes it.
I find this strange since that seems like it ought to be a function of the system software, not a mouse driver issue. When I plug in my old hardwired apple mouse everything works as it should.  It's been a few weeks now, and I haven't seen any updates from apple or logitech.....
Has anyone had any more luck getting their mouse to work correctly?

I am having similar issues with the LX7. I found that these issues are usually fixed by unplugging and replugging the USB receiver. Though, it is still a hassle and it continues to affect productivity.

I'm just wondering if anyone else is experiencing issues with their Ultrslim Plus keyboard and mouse after the update to windows 8.1? Mine seems very hesitant missing lots of key presses and the mouse pointers movement accross the screen  is jerky. I've uninstalled and reinstalled drivers but it still isn't working like it was yesterday. Batteries for both show as 100% and nothing else has changed.
    Solved!

My mistake. I'd installed version 1.5, the updated version 1.8 (specifically mentions windows 8.1 on download link) works perfectly.
