Wireless NIC Realtek RTL8191SE not recognized in Fedora 12
I have a toshiba satellite U505 and it came with this wireless NIC, i cant navigate with this card using Fedora 12 because that OS doesn't recognize the wireless NIC, it seems that its because i need to install the proper Driver, but i havent find the one for this wireless NIC.
I have a Satellite U505-S2005. The wireless antenna does not work. When I ask the search for available wireless networks a message to turn the key (switch) of wireless, but it was already on and he did not recognize it. Can someone help me? I use win 7

Wireless mouse and keyboard not recognized
I know that I have had this issue before, but can't remember what the solution is (old age?) My iMac G5 PPC has a wireless mouse and keyboard (the old apple white one). The iMac came with these as an option but WITHOUT the bluetooth card inside. (I still don't know how this works, but it does). Anyway, the mouse and keyboard were not recognized when I tried to get on today. The batteries are good. If I go to system prefs (using an even older wired mouse) there is no bluetooth option (since no card is present). I don't know how to get the computer to try to recognize both. Any help is definitely appreciated.
HI David,
If the iMac didn't come with Bluetooth software/hardware, then are you using a USB Bluetooth dongle?
And open System Profile (Applications/Utilities)
Select Bluetooth on the left under Hardware. You may need to click the gray disclosure triangle so it faces down. What does it say on the right?
If the Bluetooth icon is in your Status Menu Bar (top right in your screen). Click the icon and make sure Bluetooth is turned on. Then click: Open Bluetooth Preferences and try re-pairing the mouse and keyboard.

Satellite Pro L450 - Realtek RTL8191SE WLAN adapter: Limited Access
Hi
Hoping you can help me with my issue with wifi connection.
OS: Windows 7
Wireless adapter: Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN adapter
Laptop: Toshiba Satellite Pro L450
Wireless router/modem: Cisco
When I turn the laptop on the wifi connection may work for 10-30mins but then the network access drops but remains connected with Limited Access.
Then on reboot the connection will have Limited Access from the offset.
Also, sometimes the Available Wireless Connections do not show in the Available Networks on windows toolbar.
When using the Ethernet cable connected to my router there are no problems.
I have been searching forums for help on this and have already tried the following without success,
Updated driver: issue date May 2010
Checked that TCP/IP was set to get IP and DNS automatically
Turned off firewall
Reset modem
Countless reboots of both modem and laptop
The wireless router/modem works perfectly as I can connect with other devices and laptops.
Is this a problem that is seen regularly with this combination of laptop/wireless card/OS?
Would really appreciate any guidance you can give me as this is getting very frustrating.
Thanks
KieranTonny, updated BIOS and still no joy. Have given up on this! Just to let ye know I bought an external usb wifi adaptor and it works great.Have to say I am very annoyed that Toshiba would sell a laptop where the wifi card is not compatible with the OS or conflicts in some other way. If anyone is interested this is the adapter I bought (http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/11514859/Laptone-WiFi-Wireless-N-USB-Adapter/Product.html?ob=Price&fb=0&cur=258) and works perfectly with Windows 7, getting similar speeds to a direct connection and only cost me 10. Should not have had to go down this road but its a lesson learned, no more Toshiba!

Windows 8 and Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC
Hi!
I hava a Toshiba L650 - 107 PSKI JE and I am having a problem with the my wireless network adapter on windows 8.
My network adapter is Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC and works fine on windows 7. Two days ago I formatted my hard drive and install windows 8. The problem is that for much drivers I keep installing, The wireless keep turned off. There's no way I can move the slide from off to on.
I already tried a lot of drivers from toshiba and from realtek but doesn't work.
I went to see the Network Connections (Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network Connections) and the Ethernet is fine, I connect a cable and it is fine, but wi-fi says "Not connected".
How do I solve this problem?Satellite L650-107 (PSK1JE-00P003EP)
Downloads here.
A computer from Portugal? (Specifications attached.)
This driver should work on Windows 8.
Realtek Wireless LAN Driver
But your problems may be more fundamental. Prior to loading Toshiba-specific programs, you probably need to install something like this.
Toshiba System Driver - Windows 8 beta
And for the function keys to work, you'll need still another Toshiba utility.

ITunes not recognizing iPad or iPhone via wireless
I've been noticing that since the last iTunes update iTunes won't recognize my iPad or iPhone via my wireless connection when I launch iTunes. I have to manually plug each one in to sync, and this has been getting progressively worse over the last few weeks.
At first it was only sometimes, then it was just the iPhone, then it was just the iPad, then it would alternate between the two, and now it won't recognize either.
Do I have something off in my settings, or is this a bug in the new iTunes system?
Anyone else experiencing the same thing?Hey jzzlvr57,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like the device isn't showing up in iTunes. I would recommend that you read one of these articles, they may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.

Not recognizing wireless keyboard/trackpad/mouse
Just installed windows 7 on new 2012 imac. loaded the support software. still not recognizing the mac's wireless keyboard, trackpad, or mouse. what should I try??
hi
the N70 mouse has a USB dongle to connect to
Spoiler (Highlight to read)
You may be able to connect the mouse but the Keyboard should be a pair SK8861
The SK8861 mouse and keyboard should be a pair because the USB dongle for both is in the SK8861 mouse.
Im not sure If you can pair the SK8861 keyboard with the n70 USB dongle.
But here's how to pair the keyboard. you can try this out with the N70 usb dongle.
Make sure that the keyboard is very close to the dongle when pairing
1. Unplug the dongle from the computer
2. Remove the battery
3. Hold the F2 F3 and F4 keys on the keyboard all throughout the process
4. Use your left had put the battery in but do not put the keyboard battery cover yet.
5. Left hand still, plug in the USB dongle then right away put the keyboard battery cover
Light will blink but once it stopped you can now let go of the F2 F3 and F4 keys and try the keyboard out.
If this does not work You might need to conatct where you bought it and ask about the keyboard and mouse, that it should come in pair" sk8861 mouse and keyboard.

So here is the scenario. I just purchased a new 2T Time Capsule about a month ago. At some point, about a week ago it stopped working correctly. A few things that I've noticed:
1. The wireless router works just fine.
2. Every once in a while (more often than not) my computer (Mac book pro) will not recognize the time capsule and it will therefore not do it's wireless backup. I can no longer use it to store data.
3. What works? Unplugging the time capsule for about 20 seconds and then reconnecting seems to fix the problem, but will then the same problem will recur spontaneously.
4. Sometimes, I'll restart my computer and that will fix the problem, but again time capsule will drop off from the shared devices.
5. Interestingly, when TC is not recognized by my mac book, the Home Sharing feature of Apple TV also is rendered non-functional.
Any ideas? is it a hardware issue? If so, is it my Mac book or my TC or both?
Thanks for your advice in advanceI have seen a few posts on this one and the issue is very likely to be the way Auto channel changes take place.. for some unknown reason, the wireless can still connect as a router but the arp address is lost in the ARP table on the computer. So open a terminal and type arp -a soon after a TC restart when TM can see it.. you will see the TC MAC address listed. Once the TC is no longer recognised again do arp -a and you will find the TC is no longer listed. It is possible to force a static listing to the ARP table, but it seems to be much easier and better to simply lock the wireless channel.
Using the airport utility go to the TC setup and open the wireless area. Airport on the top menu.. wireless on the tab under that. where it says radio channel selection change to manual.. give it a fixed channel, for 2.4ghz it is best to pick the least used channel and you will need to use some site survey software to do this.. kismet, inssider for pc is superior to most Mac utilities at the moment. There are only 3 non overlapping channels 1, 6, 11 (12,13 outside USA). Pick one. I would also give a separate name to 5ghz wireless so it doesn't switch between the two.. that means you will have to change manually if signal drops out as it does more readily on 5ghz. The locking of channels seems to help the Mac not lose the MAC address in arp..though the actual mechanism is unknown to me. -
[mostly solved]RaLink RT2860 wireless NIC not working, in eeePC 1000HE
I'm having trouble getting my wireless NIC to work.
I have a clean, up-to-date system, no [testing]. I'm using the stock kernel, 2.6.30, which according to the 1000HE wiki (http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Asu … 000HE#WiFi), is supposed to work out of the box.
The problem I run into with iwconfig is that it doesn't set an essid. The essid shows as blank, then I run:
iwconfig ra0 essid "my id"
and iwconfig ra0 again shows a blank essid.
I've tried wpa_supplicant, and it just spams CTRL-EVENT-SCAN-RESULTS indefinitely (my config file is attached).
I've tried wifi radar, and it gives me errors about the network I'm trying to connect to having no AP address.
I've only tried to connect to the one network here that I have access to. It's an unsecured university network with many APs (I think it's called roaming or something?). Once you have an IP leased, you try to go to a website and are automatically forwarded to an authentication login page.
I've attached the output from a bunch of different commands:
ifconfig -a:

A module should never require files in /etc/, but they don't care. The file contains settings, ranging from packet thresholds to country selection. There is a readme file in the archive, you can change some interesting things in there, i.e. auto roaming.
The staging drivers included in the kernel have this settings file included in the module, but there have been problems with this in 2.6.30, among others, the included drivers for RT2870-based hardware, for example, can render your system unusable.
Sadly, there doesn't seem to be much effort on the side of Linux community either. Maybe it's because all the devs interested in this already bought one of earlier EEEs with an Atheros chipset.
I've got one of these cards and it works fine. I'm running 2.6.31.
I use a wpa_supplicant based connection. I suggest that you do the same, the config file is crap and it doesn't appear to accept iwconfig input.
For netcfg and this card, try netcfg 2.5 which will be out in the next 24 hours. In the meantime, you could configure your networks in a wpa_supplicant config file. Don't use a catch all like above, create a more specific one. -
This printer used to work wirelessly to my Windows Vista Laptop, then I bought a new HP tower computer and now the printer is not recognized by anything, new or old. New computer is an HP Pavilion Elite HPE running Win 7, old computer is a Sony laptop running Vista. I've tried turning on and off everything several times, unistalling and reinstalling all softwware several times, and running the HP Home Network Diagnostic Utility (both basic and advanced tools) several times. I have a Netgear 2.4GHz wireless network router -- Security type WPA2, Encyption type AES and a functioning Netwrok securty key that is not recognized by the wireless network setting on by the wirelsss netwrok wizard on the printer tools application. I don't remember running the network wizard to enable the printer when I was only using the laptop.
Any help wopuld be most grateful.
Thanks.I just fixed my J4680 printer a couple of minutes ago (see my post).
Step 1: Unplug your printer
Step 2: Uninstall the program J4680 and ALL associated HP programs (IRIS, Websmart, etc.). There is a screen to select ALL programs.
Step 3: Reboot your PC to complete the uninstallation
Step 4: Plug in your printer
Step 5: Download the FULL j4680 package from HP's support website:
Step 6: Run the Installation. The first screen will ask if you want a Wireless connection so click on that. It connected my printer automatically.
That's it. My printer is printing and scanning great. -

Hi, Jake. Welcome to Apple Discussions.
It's possible that your AirPort card has fizzled out on you. AirPort card failure doesn't happen very often, but it happened to me once, and it was very frustrating.
We diagnosed what was wrong with mine by my husband swapping his AirPort card with mine. Then my iBook would connect, but his wouldn't, so we knew it was the card.
Will the iBook work on any wireless network? Do you have someone with whom you could swap cards to see if that's the problem?

Have you tried using the other USB port? If neither port works, try plugging in a USB mouse to see if it works to confirm that your USB ports aren't damaged.
Have you installed any new software? Maybe a Security Update or something similar? Sometimes that will break functionality of third-party drivers.
You may need to go to the website of the manufacturer of the USB wireless device to see if an updated driver is available.

When did you buy it, Jake?
There is a driver that was released on June 19, 2007.

Even if this is the one you have installed, you may want to reinstall it.
Good luck.

Hi, and welcome to Apple Discussions.
Since Jake hasn't posted in over two months, either that driver worked for him, he found the answer elsewhere, or he gave up. Since he hasn't posted back, we have no way of knowing.
What model computer do you have?

Since you're running Leopard, I surmise that your iMac takes the AirPort Extreme card?
May I ask why you don't just get one of those? As I post this, the Apple Store has a refurbished one for $29.00.

I am not running Leopard... using 10.4 and I already own the product. It is suppose to work and there is no reason to purchase another unit. All I need to understand is how to make the IMac recognize the USB device or how to configure the unit. Others have stated in this and other forums that they have used this unit with success.
Thanks for address this specific issue.

Your specifications at the bottom of your post state that you're running Mac OS X 10.5.1?
You may want to post in the Internet and Networking your iMac (Flat Panel) Forum. Maybe someone there can help you out. (You've posted in the iBook G3 Forum.)

I am using a laptop to connect to the internet not the machine that I am writing about. If I could do that I would not need any help. I will check out the other forum but this thread is on topic.
Mac OS X (10.5.1)The information in your thread references an iBook quite a lot but the title of this post says iMac so I going to assume that you are trying to use this device with an iMac.
It is also unclear what version of the Mac OS you are using.
Let's start by stating the fact that these USB networking networking devices are not inherently supported by the Mac OS. Therefore they need drivers. These drivers are usually fragile and only work with a well defined version (or versions) of the Mac OS. Anytime that you make any upgrade to the Mac you are able to create an incompatibility with the driver and the device.
The Belkin F5D9050 does have some Mac OS drivers available at this link.
You should uninstall/remove the current driver for this device.
Restart your iMac.
Download and install the appropriate driver for the version of Mac OS on your iMac.
Restart your iMac.
If that doesn't work, either get the original AirPort card for the internal wireless slot in the iMac or get an Ethernet wireless adapter. An Ethernet wireless adapter requires no drivers and therefore will work with any Ethernet device. -
Hp officejet pro 8600 connected wirelessly but not recognized
I have an hp officejet 8600 n911a which is connected to my wireless internet. I have run wireless network test results and printer status reports which both show connected. when you touch the internet icon it shows connected also with an ip address. However it will not connect to my computer, ipod, ipad, or any other device to print. The product software will not even ping the device to connect to the printer. It is like it will accept an incoming connection from my router but not send out a connection signal or recieve a signal to print on the same wireless connection. I have verified that it is set up on the same internet connection but the device is not recognized and when I type in the ip address in the address bar of chrome or explorer it says page cannot be opened. However I can email wirelessly to my printer to eprint by using the email given to me by my printer. I am very confused. Any help would be great.
MelodyWith the network does the 5Ghz wirless have a different name to the 2Ghz network?
If they have the same network name then you should change the ssids to be different so then you can tell which networks its on.
From what you have told me it sounds like a 5Ghz 2 Ghz mismatch

Photosmart all in one 7510 not recognized but connected to wireless
I have a NETGEAR Router, WNDR3800. It is a dual band router running both a 5GHz and 2.4GHz network. I have never been able to maintain a working connection to the printer. After I reload the printer onto the known printers for the Mac, if the printer goes idle I am never able to re-establish the printer for use.
The mac and the printer are both connected to the same 2.4GHz network.
The network has WPA2-PSK [AES] security enabled
The network configuration page shows the network status as ready with Bonjour enabled
The Mac has never been able to pick up the printer wirelessly. I have always had to set it up via USB connection to get the Mac and printer to talk to each other. The printer will join the wireless network without the Mac, however, if i complete the process that way then the Mac will never see the printer.
Recenty updated to OS X Mavericks. Printer would not work although shows the status above. Downloaded new drivers for the OS X update. When running the HP utility to set up the printer, it was not recognized on the network. (reverified both were connected to the same 2.4Ghz network). Attempted to connect via USB. When establishing the network configuration for the printer on the HP Utility via the USB cable reveived an error message that stated the following (paraphrased):
Your printer is connected to the network but is not recognized by your Mac check with hp print website help (essentially)
I have reset the router and re-tried the above process. No difference
I have reloaded all the software and restarted the mac and printer. No difference.
I have manual assigned the IP Address for the printer and reserved the address on the router. Re-attempted to connected wirelessly and via usb. No difference.
I am at a loss as to what I can do next. Not sure if it a router issue or printer issue but I have no other issues with any equipment on this router both establishing connections to and communicating between several other devices. I would appreciate any help with this issue.Hello dan_man182 and welcome the HP Forums!
I understand you're having an issue printing wirelessly. I can provide help for you.

Another tip I can give you is the security on your router. For some reason the connection may not like the WPA2-PSK [AES] security type. Try changing that to [TKIP] and see if that helps.
Furthermore, if your 5.0Ghz is active, but you are not using it, try disabling the 5.0Ghz frequency altogether. There is a possibility it could interfere somehow.
That is my personal thought on the matter, if you want a full detailed description on router settings you can refer to this: Suggested Router Configurations

W520 is not recognizing 5GHz wireless channel
Recently I purchased E4200 wireless router. I have enabled both 2.4 and 5 GHz channel with different SSID. Both are recognized by a 3 year old W500 laptop with 32 bit windows XP. But the 5 GHz channel is not recognized in my new (4 month old) W520 Windows 7 64 bit OS. What configuration do I need to do for W520 to recognize the 5GHz channel?

Windows 7 not recognizing device - Dell Wireless 5620 EVDO HSPA Mobile Broadband Mini Card
Windows 7 is not recognizing my Dell Wireless 5620 EVDO HSPA Mobile Broadband Mini Card (Qualcomm Gobi 2000). I can't even uninstall the driver, it says that I don't have "sufficient permission" to stop device or something to that effect
(though I'm an administrator). I also can't re-install the same or different driver. I might have installed the wrong driver, though this is supposed to be the correct one according to Dell after typing in my service tag. I went to the FTP
to get one specifically for "Verizon Wireless", but I can't uninstall the prior driver.
How can I fix these issues? Thanks.Hi,
Any update?
Have you tried safe mode mentioned in the first reply? What is the status of the driver in device manager? For "Verizon Wireless", have you installed any verizon software or related verizon device? Uninstall this kind software, then uninstll driver again
as a test.
Contact this support, maybe they can give some different ideas.
