Wireless not seen after TP Hoktkey Features Integration Pkg 3.52 install

For years I have seen posts about problems with Access Connections and have been grateful that we have had no issues with it. (Three T61 7568-CTOs in the family). Not so until a recent 'recommended' update for TP Hotkey Features Integration Pkg 3.52. After installation, I got a message saying the radio was turned off - it was on physically (light underneath screen is on) and I could not get it to turn on. Of course, no networks could be detected. Wireless is Intel 4965AGN.
After hours of pouring through forum posts (none real recent, however) and tried different things - uninstalling each component in the integration package, uninstalling Access Connections, making sure the wireless didn't power off, and reinstalling the 2 software packages.
I am now connecting through Windows Wireless Service (some pain there, but at least Windows eventually turned the adapter on), but wondered if any experts out there have figured this out.

Nano not seen after update

Since installing the latest iTunes update my 4 gig Nano is NOT seen at all by my G4 iMac. I cannot even install the iPod update. I reset the Nano, did repair disk permissions, restarted the computer, nothing changed. Used a different USB port. Nothing changed.

After I wrote this question I went back to my computer and decided to do some additional troubleshooting. I tried some of the other USB ports and found that fianally the Nano was seen by the computer and I was able to update it with the new software with no problem.
So now I know that I may have a problem with one of my USB ports in my iMac which may not be easier to solve but at least I have been able to get my Nano to work with my iMac.
So I have solved my own problem - word to the wise - many times the solution to your problem is right in front of you if you take the time to do more troubleshooting yourself.

IPod not seen after iTunes 7.4.2 update

It appears that since updating to iTunes 7.4.2 my 5th Generation iPod is not seen by my e-mac (Disk Utility) or iTunes. The iPod itself freezes when plugged in, will not charge & needs to be re-set in order to be used again.
Lucky I have a separate mains charger.
I guess we'll have to wait for that 'Emergency' update Apple will be sending out any day now.........
..........or does anyone have a better idea?

Now we know why Apple has been selling the heck out of iPods! Very good marketing plan!!! Give you a download that makes your older iPod obsolete, and not usable with the new update (7.4.--) So, you go buy a brand new iPod, figuring it will of course work. Nothing on the box says the new "Classic" won't work on Macs using 10.3.9. Sooooo ...now you have to go buy a new computer. Ahaaa---sales skyrocket!

Wireless not working after suspend (madwifi)

Hi there
I successfully converted from Vista to Archlinux! Everything's working fine (yep, I'm a bit proud as this my second try at linux ) except that after I suspend with powersave my wlan is not working anymore. I've also tried to unload the ath_pci module and restart the network in /etc/powersave/sleep but that doesn't seem to work.
I guess it has something to do with the network deamon because when I try to restart my network manually it says that dhcpcd is already running for ath0... Oh, and also the iwconfig for ath0 seems to be perfectly correct after suspend...
Here's the network part of my rc.conf:

ath0="dhcp"
wlan_ath0="ath0 essid FeelGood key s:******"

Well, maybe you already know this, but: ath_pci (the madwifi driver) is among blacklisted modules (/etc/hibernate/blacklisted-modules), so it gets unloaded during the suspend process. That screws up whatever wireless connection you might have had before suspending. Now if you have the option LoadModules auto in /etc/hibernate/common.conf, it should get loaded after resuming - but that of course doesn't renew the connection. So that I do is I have a short script that calls /etc/rc.d/network restart, and I run it manually after suspending to renew the connections.
BTW, I have this in /etc/hibernate/common.conf:
UnloadBlacklistedModules yes
LoadModules auto

My sleep/wake issue on Yosemite affects the external disk (USB 3 connection) and the printer (HP 8600 all-in-one): On wake, after a long sleep, my iMac late 2012 shows an error message saying that the disk was not properly ejected and, in fact, the disk icon disappears from the desktop. The printer issue is even worse: no longer seen by the system after a long sleep but also right after a print, i.e.the next print won't start because the system no longer "sees" it.
About the printer, I originally thought it could be a driver issue but now that I see a similar problem occurring on the disk, I start thinking the driver could be only part of the problem.
Most of times, a restart fixes the problem but this is very annoying.

Hi, My Ipad2 could not connect again with the wireless after updated to ios 6.1.3. Pls what can I do?

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)

    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Wireless not working after iPhone 2.0 upgrade

I have the original iPhone and upgraded to 2.0 Friday night. No problems with the upgrade, but now I can't get onto any wireless network. It is not detecting networks and I am not able to manually add networks that I have access to.
Seems others are having similar problems with wireless. Will there be an update soon?

Ah! That explains it. I got a "No Wifi" gray field on Monday night, after a day of strange WiFi behavior (weak reception, required you to specifically select WiFi networks that used to be remembered and chosen automatically). Reset didn't fix it. Restore didn't fix it. Waiting 12 hours somehow fixed it.
This now makes sense.
I was going to complain about battery life, but since I'm now using (weak) EDGE more than WiFi, I can see why...

Well, the above two links have the problem similar to mine but not exactly. In first one there is a problem with network manager - that it is unable to restart after coming from sleep mode while that is not a problem in my case and I tried all the solutions provided in the second link, but didn't work.
What I figured is when I execute '#pm-suspend' and then close the lid. Then, after I open the lid I wireless works fine. 'pm-suspend' is not invoked if I close the lid. So I needed to invoke the above command when an acpi event is generated when I close the lid. So here is what I added in the /etc/acpi/handler.sh file

This works fine for now. Still, I don't know why this solution works - Why executing pm-suspend solves my problem?

Wireless not working after format on Satellite L10.

Dear All,
I have formatted my Satellite laptop, and after downloading all the drivers needed, there is still a network adapter not recognised under System Devices in Windows XP. The LAN driver and the wireless LAN driver were both installed from their exe's. Everything else seems to be working perfectly, apart from my wireless... Any ideas ? What can I try ?

Wireless not working after arch install

Basically, I have an intel PRO/wireless 4965 AGN wireless card in my computer. When booting Archlinux from live disk, I could set up my wireless network and connect with basically no problem. After installation however, Arch will not connect to my wireless connection using the same connection procedure. If I use very precise timing, I can get ping to ping google once, but then it loses the connection. I tried the wired connection to see if I could at least install the rest of my system and deal with the wireless later, but the wired connection also fails to connect (I don't know if it ever was able to connect in the first place. Network card is Realtek RTL8101E/RTL8102E). I am installing from the 2011.08.19 core disk.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Start off with having a look at this wiki article. If you can't resolve the issue with the info found there, it'll at least give you an idea of which info to provide in order for us to help you troubleshoot this (with the current level of detail provided your guess is as good as mine).
As a general pointer, also consider disabling ipv6 if you have it enabled (and if you have no need for it).

Wireless not working after VMware kit installation

After installing VMWare kit, my wireless network card is not working - any clues?

there is something very wierd here. Let me recap what I KNOW is happening.
1) I can connect to WAP at boot no problem. This is true 100%
2) After sleep systems fails 100% time from 5:30 AM to 10:00PM (not sure why)
3) There have been no changes to WAP (confirmed using checksums)
4) This started immediately after 10.4.10 install.
What I have done that does NOT work
1) Repair disk perms (no errors)
2) Repair keychain (no errors)
3) Remove Parallels (expired Demo)
4) Remove/recreate network
5) Run commands indicated in other replies
What I have done that showed hope
1) If I create a new location I can use that location to recover from exactly 1 sleep. Subsequent sleeps fail for that location. once all locations are used a reboot is required.
2) Issued ipconfig setverbose 1 and watched logs. It seems that the Mac never Sees the incoming packets. I can rule out WAP issues as the Dell d620 sitting right next to the Mac is indicating packet reception at 100% (and I am only 10ft from WAP with direct line of sight).
3) issued ipconfig getpacket en1 in both working and non-working states. Woring stated returns expecte DHCP response from server. non-working state returns nothing. as in not even a blank line.
So as I see it the Mac does not appear to be reenabling the reciever post sleep. Changing locations seems to re-init the airport card but only once (why once?) enough to get it working. What I don't understand is where in software land I would even start to look. I find it hard to believe that there is a coincidental sync between an OS update and a hardware failure on a 4 week old machine.

MX922 scanner works when installed but is not seen after re-start.

Windows 7 64bit fully patched...
This unit works fine on windows 8.1.
I tried the driver that came with the printer as well as the two found online....

mp68-win-mx920-1_00-ea32_2
Same malfunction with both drivers.
Anybody else seen this?

Hi donnyg,
The Windows Firewall may be blocking the scanner from operating wirelessly. Let's try temporarily turning off the FIrewall:
1. Open Windows Firewall by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Security, and then clicking Windows Firewall.
2. Click Turn Windows Firewall on or off. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
3. Click Off (not recommended), and then click OK.

Journals on elim member not seen after chage in environ

We have recently moved to prod from qa. In the application we have several journals setup to run at the [ELIMINATION] member.
These journals are being seen in the "Process journals" in the QA environ.
But in production environ, we cant see any of these journals. The journals are getting generated and posted (we can see data at [elimination] node in smartview/ grids) -- but the journals themselves cant be seen.
I have checked for routine issues like filters or if names of journals are not in the rule file, but all that seems fine.
We can still see the standard manual journals posted on <entity curr adjs>
any pointers on what may have gone broke?

You cannot post journal entries to [Elimination]. The only "journals" which appear in [Elimination] are those which are generated by the consolidation rules. Depending on how you migrated your application from one environment to the other, you may have to re-run the consolidation in order to re-generate the "journals". This was a new feature added in 11.1.1.3 I believe, which uses information from HS.Con function to generate information in [Proportion] and [Elimination] that would present as journals, though technically they are created by the system and not by users.
