Iphoto not working after a Mavericks update. Any suggestions?

I have just updated to Mavericks and iphoto has a line through the App saying it is the wrong version.
I then updated the App for iphoto via the App store and it still won't work. Any ideas? I also downloaded the latest ilife from the App store too.

You need to reinstall it:
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2. Download it from the App Store to reinstall It's on your Purchases List* there.
For older versions that have been installed from Disk you'll need these additional steps:
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
*Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

Windows 10: HP Deskjet 2540 wireless not working anymore after upgrade.

I was using Windows 8.1 and the printer was working fine via wireless printing. After upgrading it to Windows 10, printer stopped supporting wireless connection. It works through USB. I tried updating the software but the issue hasn't been resolved.

SB wow wireless not working after firmware upgrade

In the beginning of this year I bougth a pair of Sound Blaster World of warcraft wireless headset. And there have been alot of trouble with them, I've been using the latest software but not the latest firmware ever since then.
And every now and then my mic stop to work, I could hear sound but the mic was totally dead, and all of a sudden, of no logical reason the mic started to work agian.
So I thought a firmware upgrade could make them work better, but no, i upgrade firmware from .9.x to .0.x.
And guess what happens? Nothing works no, not the sound, not the mic, the USB trasmitter cant even sync with the headset anymore.
Ive tried a million things now, some of them are:
. Just tried to reinstall it, didnt work
2. Tried to install it in winxpsp3 compability mode, didnt work.
3. Tried to clear all temp-folder (the temp-folder under c:\windows\temp and the user-temp) after Ive uninstalled it, didnt work.
Im running on Windows 7 Professional x64 edition.
What could cause this? I havnt tried to install them on a XP-computer yet tho. But I have to get them work in Win7, since i cant downgrade just because of a headset, huh?

[SOLVED] wireless not working after -Syu upgrade

Hi everyone,
after an upgrade today (though it's been awhile so unfortunately it was a lot of upgrades), Arch doesn't even seem to recognize my wireless card exists anymore. If I type ifconfig, it only shows
eth0 Ethernet ...
lo ...
whereas before eth1 existed as my wireless.

Edit: I should mention that I normally used wicd. I couldn't seem to get the standard network or networkmanager to work either, though, as no wireless device exists.

I had a similar problem after the kernel upgrade with my Broadcom BCM4312 wireless card (on a Lenovo S10-2 netbook). What worked for me was recompiling and reinstalling the driver in AUR: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=19514, using the little hack suggested in the comments at the AUR package: in the file include/linuxver.h I changed the line
#include <linux/autoconf.h>
to
#include <generated/autoconf.h>
(If you just try to build the package without this change it won't work).
It worked perfectly afterwards (I'm using networkmanager, not wicd, but this shouldn't be a problem).
Of course, the solution depends on your own wireless card, so more details might help.

WIreless not working! since upgrade! help!

All was working fine never had a proplem it asked me to update a few days i did without any proplems and since then i have been unable to access my wireless. i have went to, 2 friends houses both with wireless with no luck is there anyway of uninstallin wot i did or better still fix the proplem.... cheers Zack, by the way it works fine when i plug in the lan cable!

I think you probably downloaded "AirPort Base Station Update 2007-002" like me. I'm not sure (I have another post up to see) but I think this update was actually released a month or more ago and wreaked havoc with many users. While the update is still out there is beyond me. I ran a reinstall and will avoid "2007-002" as long as I can. You may have to do the same. And you may not. I'm not well enough versed in Macs enough yet to say.

Tried to reset network settings however it is still same. Added another gmail account and somehow it is working :S. Checked account settings on gmail and iphone. Settings are correct and imap is enabled. When I tried to check my e-mail it says "username and password don't correct"
Tried to delete account and add again but no change.
I am not sure what is the problem.

I assume you are talking about Quicken 2007, not Elements. I have the same problem and contacted Quicken and they told me that (1) Quicken Elements will run under Lion and (2) If I really want to run 2007, I would have to do this by dual booting my Mac so that I can run Lion sometimes and Snow Leopard some times. Since Elements has only a fraction of the capability of 2007, I will pursue the latter option. I am going to create a new thread asking about dual booting, since that is more general than just running Quicken. Quicken says that there is an Apple dual-boot capability or that I can use 3rd-party software Parallels so that I can run Snow Leopard as a virtual system. I do not yet know how to use either of these.

And yes previously i've been told by Apple that I needed the Box Set (not the family pack. i am using the family pack for OS Snow Leopard) to upgrade my 10.4.11 mac - they never mentioned adding ram but i figured that out on my own and an apple specialist recommended it when i purchased Snow Leopard and confirmed that I coul duse the Snow Leopard to upgarde from Tiger (10.4.11). I've also read extensively (as i said above) that it isn't necessary (always) to buy the box set. Several 10.4.11 users report having upgraded using the Snow Leopard upgrade disk only (not the Box Set) without trouble on intel macs (also see the apple link i posted). So i'm just ondering how they did it and i cannot.

I have the same problem but I have iPhone 3GS. All my other apps, Photos, Notes, Calendars, etc are there as it is BUT not my Contacts. I signed up to iClouds for the 1st time during the update to iOS6. I don't know how to download Contacts from iCloud (that too if it took a backup!)

1 . We updated OS to mavericks few machine in last december and still does't works SMTP (Out going mail) on those MAC.
2. After that most recently we updated OS to mavericks few machine those are working will with SMTP server .
a)Not showing any SMTP connection in TCP trace ,
b) Connection docter every time Says "Connecting to the server "
3, Then we have installed thunderberd (another mail) client on maverick os, which OS related to apple mail client not woking . It seems other mail client is working well with SMTP server .

The MSS ECM FPM Steps are not working after the upgrade. We use Java Webdynpro and MSS ECM (SP17), version 603.
On cliking the FPM steps, nothing is happening, however we can navigate using the buttons.
But this functionality was working before the upgrade.
Please let me know what should I do.
