Wireless on Linux 110 series

Hi,
I have issues with my wireless card with Linux Ubuntu remix netbook.
The wireless is not probing at all. I was wondering if any of you guys knew which is the manufacturer of the wireless card in this series 110 ?
Cheers
Riganta,

Hi
Are you sure the Satellite 110 supports an WLan card?
I doubt that this oldie has been equipped with an internal WLan card!
I found this Satellite 110 specification sheet and the WLan card is not listed there!

  • Content DB 10.2 for Linux Z series

    Hi,
As Oracle Database 10G R2 10.2.0.2 and Oracle AS 10G R2 10.1.2.0.2 exist for Linux Z series, could you please tell me if Oracle Content DB 10.2 exist too for Linux Z series, and in affirmative case where to download it? in negative case where to access a roadmap?
Thank a lot for your help.
    Best regards.

    Thanks Matt,
I should have done a clean of it. I might have to make the content db join the farm manually, unless there's another way.
I can access the new instance using its own EM Console. At install time it detected my infrastructure and associated services like OID. I was hoping it would have automatically join the existing farm.

  • Where do I go to get software updates for my wireless printer hp 4620 series

I have a wireless printer hp 4620 series. It came with an installer cd that only allows use of OS X , Mountain Lion, and Lion. My system is OS Yosemite. The cd told me that the installation was not recommended and I should get software update from Apple. but did not give me a link as to where I could go. Please help! I need to re-establish my wireless connection between my Apple and my printer. ASAP.

It should print with old drivers but you need the updated drivers for scanning.

  • My HP wireless Photosmart Printer D110 series shows connected to network, my HP laptop shows offline

HP laptop Pavilion dv6-3210us PC shows my HP Wireless Photosmart Printer D110 series will not recognize each other.  Had worked well for past 6 months after I bought printer.  I have a new Internet provider  - could that give problems?  It did work for a while, but now my laptop says the printer is offline and it  isn't.  The printer says it's connected to the network.  (windows 7 operating system.  I cannot print anything, why?

If you have a new router you may have to re-install the printer.  Is your router new or just your modem?

A true comparison would need the model numbers (not the series) to be specific.  Overall, the 110 series is considered the entry-level or value line while the 500 series is the mid-range line.

    Hi,
During the process, it should ask you how to connect USB or wireless. Now, pull the USB cable out and run the setup from your computer again.

  • HP C4585 - connecting wirelessly from linux netbook

    Hi,
I bought my daughter an Acer Aspire One netbook for xmas with linux as the OS (An error as none of us have any experience of using it).  Also got the above printer too and have already connected my laptop (Vista) wirelessly but cannot manage it with the netbook.
The netbook doesn't have a CD Drive so cannot install the software via that method.  I did plug the printer in via USB and it all worked fine, the software and drivers seemed to automatically install and a test page printed fine but how do i connect the netbook to the printer wirelessly??
Any help greatfully appreciated and an idiot's guide in managing it even more so!
    Cheers
    Steve

If you have the base model AIO 8500 it has both ethernet and USB connections. It is NOT recommended to use BlueTooth because it extremely slow for printing. However if you have the AIO 8500 wireless or 8500 Premier both have wireless built right into them. With the latter two models you can set up a true wi-fi printer meaning it will perform all of the functions (print, scan, fax and copy) wirelessly. You just wirelessly connect it to the router and as long as it's within range of the router you are set. If you have the base model your best bet is to connect it via ethernet to the router, this will still give you a true AIO experience. If you connect it via USB to the Airport Extreme (AE) it will ONLY print (no fax, copy or scan) because the AE only supports USB printing.

  • Broadcom Wireless Driver - LINUX (for Ubuntu LTS Slipstream)

    Hello,
I'm looking to build a slipstream ISO for Ubuntu LTS. The current LTS ISO comes with the wired NIC driver but not the wireless - can someone point me to the place to find the driver? I know I can plug in a wired connection and then do an update within Ubuntu but I'm trying to avoid that or at least have the wireless NIC work from the start.
    Thx.

which broadcom chip do you have? im pretty sure the 4313 broadcom chip has the same driver as my atheros chip in my b570 which the driver is already on linux mint, ubuntu and a few others you just need to do a little command line stuff.
to get mine working i had to type:
    sudo service network-manager stop
    sudo rmmod acer_wmi
    sudo modprobe acer_wmi
    sudo rfkill unblock all
    sudo service network-manager start
    sudo rmmod -f acer_wmi
that would get it working, then you type this to get it to stick past reboots:
    sudo su
    echo "blacklist acer_wmi" >> /etc?modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
after that you will have a fully working wifi connection that will last through reboots, although wicd seems to work better than network manager so i would recomend swapping them out after you get everything working.

  • Wireless connection- Linux

I have BT broadband at home and have had two wireless connections working fine. Last week my laptop died and I have replaced it with a netbook which is running ubuntu on linux.
I am unable to connect through the wireless but can use the cable no problem (other PC still ok).
I was told that the hub doesn't support Linux....why not? How hard can it be? Does anyone know of a way around it?
Finally, I have signed up for BT FON as I thought I could use the netbook when out and about, will this not be an option either?
    Any help greatly appreciated.

Linux will work on the Home Hubs, its just that things like BT Desktop Help and the Install CD aren't compatible with it.
I use a netbook with Linpus Lite and it connects just fine.
Suspect you'll need to do the obvious...
    * Make sure the wireless is physically switched on (which it sound like you've done)
    * Make sure you're setting up a WPA connection (if you're using a Hub 2.0)
    * And the updated drivers as previously suggested -- may be worth lowering the Hub 2.0 wireless to just operate in b/g mode if the netbook only has a g wireless adapter; that will tell you definitively whether the drivers need to be updated to work on a b/g/n network.
    * May also need to restart the netbook with the ethernet cable unplugged so that the wireless can pick up the IP address from the Hub.
    * On my netbook, I found that sometimes when coming out of hibernate mode, the wireless didn't reconnect too well; this seems to have been resolved in subsequent netbook updates, but that could also be an issue which would require a restart of the netbook.

  • Wireless direct print 3250 series

I am trying to set up the wireless direct print feature on my 3250 series all-in-one printer so that I can print wirelessly without a router. I have followed all of the instructions online. I have turned on wireless direct on the printer and have connected to the wireless direct name on my computer. However, I can't get my computer to actually print anything wirelessly. Please help!!!!

    Hi a45,
What device are you using to connect the 3520?
If using a computer or laptop, you have to install the printer drivers in order to use direct print or scan: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-search.html?tab=1#/qryterm=3520||&searchtype=s-002
But if using an iPad, tablet, or other mobile device, printer driver install is not required.

  • Wireless module on 800 series reboot

I have a wireless problem on the 800 series and with two PCs connected to the wireless router and you're a 40GB file to send by second PC over the wireless module does away is this normal?

You can get the PoE daughter card pre-fitted before the appliance leaves the factory or you can do it yourself as an after-sales item.
800-IL-PM-4 is the daughter card.  Read the Q & A below:
    Q. Can the PoE be upgraded after ordering?
    A. Yes, you can upgrade the PoE on all models except the C892FSP-K9, which does not support PoE at all. For all Cisco 890 Routers, the product ID (PID) for the PoE upgrade is 800-IL-PM-4=. This PID comes with two power supply options: 80 or 125 watts. The older CISCO890 requires the 80-watt option, whereas the newer C890 requires the 125-watt option.
    Q. Why do some routers use 80 watts and others 125 watts for PoE?
    A. The 80-watt power supply is used in addition to the standard 60-watt power supply, so you will have two power supplies connected to the router. For the newer routers we combined these two power supplies into the one 125-watt power supply (hence we have a 4-pin connector). Both models support the base router as well as 4 ports with standard PoE.

  • HT3500 I have a MacBook Pro and an HP ENVY 110 SERIES All-In-One .  I can't seem to get a network set up or either one to locate or connect to the other one.

I've spent hours, actually probably days, trying to do this but it's not working. I've had the ENVY since Nov
and have not been able to print - much less do anything else with it.
My internet is CLEAR wireless. I use the little USB 4G Mobil Modem. This new HP ENVY is also wireless.
I know I can't be online and print at the same time unless I get a router.
I also know that I can go offline and change the network pref  to "airport" so I can print. Meaning I'll have to change
back and forth but for my uses,  that's ok..at least for right now.
What I can't seem to get set-up correctly is my own local network.
I'm pretty sure it's suppose to be done using "Airport".
Obviously, I'm doing something wrong in establishing my network.
The printer is listed on my printer preferences and shown as  "offline"  "default". I assume that means the ENVY
is my default printer.  Great! At least my Pro knows it's suppose to connect to the ENVY once everything's set-up correctly.
Now, if someone could just tell me exactly, step-by-step what to do to get that done....
    I'd be soooo very happy!
    Thank you!
    Ricki

Well... no help was found here.. so I abandoned the wireless- ness of my printer.  I bought a
small 10 port hub because only 2 USB ports really isn't enough with wireless mouse, wireless internet
and any kind of printer.   I also bought a long USB cable.  I now print--wired since this can be done
as an alternative to wireless with this printer.   Because I don't want a cable "hanging around"
when the printer is not in use, I simple disconnect it and reconnect when I want to print.
It's a temporary solution others may find helpful as well. Apparently there's been a lot of
confusion and problems getting this printer set up wirelessly with our MacBooks.
Shame on HP for not helping us out!
