Wireless Photosmart 7515 No Longer Recognized by Window

My printer worked wirelessly just fine for over a year.  Then one day both my desktop and laptop comuter stopped printing wirelessly.  The Wireless Network Test Results show that the printer in "Connected" to the network, but Windows 7 fails to recognize it.  Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this?
Thanks.
John

Hey John,
I see you are having a network connection issue with your Photosmart 7515.  When was the last time the network setup was power cycled?
Follow these steps to reset your HP printer, your wireless router, and your computer.
Press the Power button on the HP printer to turn it off.
Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the HP printer.
Disconnect the power cord from the wireless router.
Turn off the computer.
Wait 30 seconds.
Reconnect the power cord to the wireless router.
Wait 30 seconds, or until the router is fully on and ready.
Turn the computer back on.
Wait for the computer to reload.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the HP printer.
Turn the printer back on.
Once everything is powered back up, then I would check to make sure the printer is still showing connected to your network.  If so, then check the IP that the software is looking for the printer at to make sure it hasn't changed at some point.  To do this follow the below steps:
Click the Start menu of your PC
Click All Programs
Open the HP Folder
Open the folder for the 7515 inside the HP folder
Select the option to Update Wireless information to update the IP the software is looking for the printer at
As well, try running the HP Print and Scan Doctor to see if it can locate any issues with your installation. Please use the below link to access the PSDR.
HP Print and Scan Doctor
Let me know the results,
Jason

  • USB devices all of a sudden no longer recognized in windows 7

    Hi,
I am using a HP Pavilion Simline s5550nl edition with windows 7 home premium (64-bit) since 1.5 years. Never had any problems until 3 days ago. Since 3 days suddenly some new devices, already plugged-in devices and previously used devices are no longer recognized (USB-device not recognized-error after plug-in).
I used an USB-mouse, USB-keyboard, Smartcard-reader, Sony Story 1.5TB External HDD, USB WebCam. They al worked fine.
3 Days ago I bought a WD Elements 2 TB External HDD. After plugging in, it was not recognized at first. Replugging it in it was recognized, but trying to open the drive in Explorer, it gave a not-formatted-error (while the disk should have been pre-formatted for Windows 7). However, i tried to format the disk, but it could not reach it any more. After rebooting the system the WD elements HDD gave the USB-device-not-recognized-error, using all other USB-ports didn't change that. In fact my Sony External HDD was no longer reachable either. Unplugging and replugging it in gave the same USB-device-not-recognized-error. Trying previously flawless working USB-devices all gave the same USB-device-not-recognized-errors (USB-flash disk 4GB, External HDD 2.5inch 160GB, USB-/card reader HUB, iPhone).
I then tried to connect my Sony and WD external HDD on my other computer with windows XP SP3. They were recognized within seconds and working fine (also the WD elements External HDD indeed turned out to be pre-formatted).
Strangely enough my USB-mouse, USB-keyboard and smartcard-reader kept being recognized at plug-in. Furthermore, my printers (connected over LAN) and NAS (connected over LAN) were usable without any problem. I did not encounter any other problems in functionality of windows. I then thought it might be a corrupted general USB-driver for mass-storage or something, so I started to google this problem. Things I have done so far (before each step I unplugged all USB-devices, rebooted and reconnected the devices):
    - Turning computer off, unplug power-cable for 2 minutes, reboot.
    - Updating BIOS to version 6.04 (was running version 6.02).
    - Uninstalling all USB-devices/mainhubs etc in devicemanagement, automatic reinstallation at restart.
    - Try installing newer USB-drivers for mainhubs, messages the installed drivers are already the latest.
    - Uninstalling all 'hidden' USB-devices.
    - Trying to go back to configuration of 1 day ago (maximum i could go back), resulted in an error that  the file might be corrupted.
    - Turning computer off, unplug power-cable overnight, reboot.
    - Running HP-systemdiagnostics: all passed.
    - Running Norman anti-virus scan (latest update): no infection.
    - Again uninstalling all USB-devices/mainhubs etc, automatic reinstallation at restart.
I also noticed that during the night before this malfunction appeared (so actually several hours), on january 20th, an automated microsoft critical update was installed (some anti-spyware definition update). I am now thinking it might still be a driver-problem of some sort of general USB-mass storage driver or due to this microsoft update or maybe some clever virus.
I no ordered a Recovery disk (never had to use one, so did not jet own one), to recover windows and if that doesn't help reinstall it. However I hope that anyone can bring up a solution that I am overlooking?
    D. Berks

OK, meanwhile I found that only uninstalling the USB2-driver enables the USB-ports again. Uninstalling it makes al devices recognizable, whil reintsalling it immediately makes all USB-devices unrecognizable.
I tried updating the driver to the latest version, deleting it (after reboot an automated reinstall is triggered), but nothing helps. As if soething that stays in the system makes USB2 to corrupt USB-channeling or something.
I strongly believe that it has something to do with the windows-update, but I can nowhere as a question about it to microsoft (will cost 70 euro's!).
Does anybody knows what this could be? Or better: knows of a solution?
    Tanks,

I had reset it, tripple checked all settings. in the end i down powered my broadband modem then into the router,
    then on "Administration"
    then "Factory defaults"
then ticked box to yes to reset
    then onto save settings
after that down powered everything inc PC and then powered everything back up, set up router again and then it worked ok then.

    Hi Ted
I deleted the file and reconnected my device and it quickly grew to 600kb. I'm not sure exactly what you need and there didn't seem to be anything interesting at the end of the log, but I did find the following lines which, from what I can, is from the point when WMP tried to establish a connection with the device and failed.

  • 1st Generation iPod Touch No Longer Recognized by Windows 7 PC

I have a 1st generation iPod Touch (no camera) that can no longer connect to my Windows 7 pc. Plugging in the iPod via USB does not trigger any sort of dialog box in Windows and it doesn't trigger a message saying a device has been connected; the iPod does not show up in either iTunes, Computer, Device Manager or Devices and Printers, either as an Apple mobile device or an unrecognized device, and does not charge when connected to USB (though the wall-charger still works). As far as my computer is concerned this iPod does not exist. I had successfully synced this iPod as recently as one week ago and am ready to pitch the thing in the garbage if I can't find a solution.
I have the latest version of iTunes as well as the most up-to-date Windows updates. I have already followed all the steps listed here (iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows) multiple times with no success.
I also have tried following the instructions listed here (Re: For those Windows users who suddenly cannot see their device in iTunes. Here's a solution that has worked.) but this also hasn't worked since the iPod isn't recognized in the Device Manager and I am not given the option of updating the drivers, manually or otherwise.
I have uninstalled/re-installed iTunes and all related Apple services multiple times. The Apple Mobile Device Service is functioning normally. iTunes diagnostics indicate that there is no device connected no matter what I do. I have reinstalled my Windows USB drivers and changed the settings on the USB Root Hub in the Windows Device Manager to disable power saving options.
I have tried connecting the device to another PC which detects and syncs another apple device (iPhone 5) with no issues, and had the exact same result: the computer doesn't even recognize an iPod is connected.
I can't update the Apple Mobile Device Drivers because the device is not recognized by my machine in any way.
I even completely reset my iPod and that just left me with a unactivated iPod that still isn't detected.
I am really unbelievably fed-up with the useless "try checking your USB cable"-style advice that people seem to offer on this forum. If anybody has dealt with this issue and has any serious advice other than "re-install iTunes," it would be much appreciated.

You said "I am really unbelievably fed-up with the useless "try checking your USB cable"-style"
    - Did you try another cable?
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    Try on another computer

  • 9930 No Longer Recognized in Windows Explorer (7) - USB Mode missing from Options on Connection with PC

    Blackberry Bold 9930
    Verizon
    OS - 7.1.0 Bundle 2705
Blackberry Desktop Software Version - 7.1.0.41
    PC - Windows 7
I have a problem which recently surfaced when connecting my 9930 to my PC. In the past, when I have connected my PC, I have gotten three options (1) Charge Only (2) Media Synch (3) USB Drive. Several days ago, when I connected the 9930 to my PC the USB Drive option no longer shows up. I have always been able to see my Blackberry and the 32GB MicroSD card in contains in Windows Explorer; however, now, it does not show up. If I double click on Computer in Windows Explorer, I see two Removable Disks - E: and F:. When you double click on them, you get the message "Insert Removable Disk." I have ensure that Media Card Support in checked under Storage in Options. I have done a reset. I have pulled the battery. I have uninstalled the Blackberry Desktop Software and reinstalled it - all to no avail. I have also connected this device to two other Windows 7 PCs and it doesn’t show up on either PC. It encounters an error while trying to down load drivers on of which pertains to MTB drivers. I have also gone into Device Manager and uninstalled the drivers associated with the 9930 and reinstalled them. Nothing has worked. I have removed the microsd card and replaced it. I have upgraded the BB OS to the most current version. If anyone has any ideas to pursue, I would appreciate their insight.

    Hey Panthus,
You have covered alot by testing with a new media card and with a different PC, I would suggest backing up and doing a clean reload of the BlackBerry device software as shown here: http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/KB11320
Please test before restoring any data to the device.
If this resolves the issue do a selective restore of essential data (Address Book, Calendar, Task, Memos, BBM contacts etc.)

If the issue still persists after the reload, further investigation might be required. To help further diagnose the cause, contact your wireless service provider or BlackBerry Technical Support Services for further review and support.

  • HP8450 Printer No Longer Recognized by Windows

Recently my PC became badly infected. Malwarebytes Antimalware and Spybot Search and Destroy now declare my PC virus free, but I have one artifact of the infection. Control panel as well as my software no longer sees my HP8450 printer. This problem first appeared when I was infected, this did not occur during or after cleaning. HP's online troubleshooter does not solve the problem. Further, I am unable to reinstall the printer; I have the original install CD and when prompted, Windows install wizard doesn't recognize the files on the CD. Trying a version of the software downloaded from HP's website, the install sees the device but cannot complete the install. I can't uninstall the printer because Control Panel doesn't recognize it as being installed. The printer is connected via USB cable and all of my other USB devices (mouse, keyboard, external hard drive) all work as they should. The printer was fully operational before the virus infections (Virtumonde.prx and Win32.TDSS.rtk).
I'm running XP SP2 on a Pentium 4 2.40Ghz CPU with 2GB RAM. I have cable internet, so I run a McAfee firewall.

I had the same problem after my computer got infected (And I am running McAfee with the firewall!).  The problem isn't your print driver, the problem is in your Windows operating system.  Try to reload or repair Windows from your backup disk (hope you have one).  It took three tries before i finally got the trojan eliminated and could reload Windows.

  • Nano no longer recognized by Windows

I have a first generation Nano. It was connecting to Windows XP machine just fine and iTunes worked great --- until yesterday. Now it's no longer seen by iTunes, or by My Computer. I've reset the iPod and tried everything else on the support site.
I have two iPods, two computers and two cables. The other iPod connects just fine with either computer and either cable, so I know it's not the computers or cable. This iPod doesn't connect on either computer with either cable.
This iPod plays music just fine -- it just doesn't connect to the computer.
In iTunes I've done Help/Diagnostics/iPod Dignostics. The result is "red" under "iPod Connection Status," with the following text:

    Any advice?

I've had this problem and given the advice to others and it has worked for some. This isn't mentioned in any other advice that I can see but it is a simple check that you should do, not very technical either!
With your iPod plugged in to the computer, first go through the 5R's and other help topics to check the basics (new cable, different computer, different USB port etc.)
If no luck, check to see if your iPod exists in Device Manager as follows: right-click on My Computer, then click on Manage, then Device Manager, then expand the section called Disk Drives on the right hand side and see if the iPod is shown there, if it is, go on to the next stage.
In the same Computer Management box, click on Disk Management on the left hand side, after a few seconds a new box opens on the right and should show all of the disks on your computer including the iPod. Then right-click on the iPod information and it will give you an option to Change the drive letter or path....click on that and then select Change; select a new drive letter which is not already assigned to any other disc (I picked Z down the bottom), save that then exit and see if it works. Good luck!

  • IPod is no longer recognized by Windows or iTunes

I tried to up date my iPod Nano with the 2006-06-28 updater. Instead of going through the normal process of opening iTunes and telling it to disconnect my iPod, I went to the icon on the tool bar that says "Safely Remove Hardware" and told it to disconnect my iPod. However, when I turned my iPod on, it had erased all my memory, and to make things worse, neither the updater, iTunes, or even Windows recognized that my iPod was plugged in. What is going wrong, and how do i fix it?

First of all, try another port on your computer. Some ports are not connected direct to the motherboard and do not recognize the iPod as well as those that are. Reset the iPod each time you connect it to another port.
    Still no joy, see these.
Your Windows PC doesn't recognize iPod.
iPod appears in Windows Explorer but does not appear in iTunes.
iPod does not appear in iTunes.
Fast user switching in Windows XP is not supported.
    Strange iPod behavior.

  • Zen Vision: M 30GB no longer recognized by Windows

I've had the player since Christmas and I've had no problems since today. As of this morning, whenever I plug the player into any USB port on my computer, I receive the error "One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it". When I check the USB port in the Device Manager, it's listed as Unknown.
To get the inevitable out of the way:
Yes, I've tried all USB ports on the computer.
Yes, I've tried other devices that use a USB connection (My camera and printer) and they work fine.
Yes, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers.
I also have a AC adapter that still manages to charge the player fine, which I would think would mean that there is no physical hardware problem.
As I previously mentioned, I've had the player for about half a year and it's worked fine. Why would it stop functioning now?

  • My Shuffle no longer recognized in Windows

I am having trouble with my 1 GB shuffle. It had been working rather well for several months but now it is not recognized by XP Pro or iTunes. It does however get charged when I connect it to the USB port. Also, the USB subsytem on my computer does work since I can connect my camera to it with no problems. I have worked my way thru this document:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61711
and nothing has worked so far.
Restoring the iPod software doesn't work because the computer (and thus the iPod Updater) doesn't see that the device is plugged in.
I am now on the last step of the original document which is reinstalling the iPod software for Windows:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61669
I put that disc in my computer and it wants to uninstall the iPod software. I am concerned that this will delete my purchased muic, podcasts and my podcast subscriptions. Will this stuff all be imported safely when I uninstall it and then reinstall it?
Also, any help people can offer on why my shuffle isn't being recognized would also be great too.

I too have fell victim to your situations. I have not done any changes either. This stopped working a couple days ago. I have music on the shuffle and it plays fine. As soon as I plug it into either of my 4 PCs, Windows does not detect the shuffle. Every single one of them detects my jump drive as well as digital camera. I know that I don't have all four of my systems to auto update in Windows so I don't think that has anything to do with it. Also, I left my headphones in the shuffle as I plug it into any of the PCs and my music stops playing. Which is an indicator that the shuffle detects something connecting to it; my PCs fail to. It's all strange....

  • I-touch no longer recognized by Windows XP Pro

It will still charge up on the computer but the computer doesn't not recognize it in My Computer. Also, when I try to run diagnostics on I-Tunes it tells me the device is not plugged in. I've tried the trouble shooting assistant but that doesn't help me. I've also tried this link, but the computer still doesn't recognize the I-touch. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1495
Everything worked fine until I let the battery go completely dead. When I plugged it into the computer to charge, I got an error message and the computer never recognized the I-touch again.

Since Apple Mobile Device Services is the piece of software responsible for communicating with your touch, is it operating correctly? Refer to this article to troubleshoot that service: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567
If you need to, do not hesitate to uninstall iTunes, Apple Mobile Device Services, and Quicktime. Be sure you reboot your computer before downloading and installing the latest version of iTunes.

  • Error during OS 4.2 update; Ipod no longer recognized by windows or itunes;

I've had my 3G 8gb since last Feb and never updated the OS (3.1.3). Yesterday I tried updating to 4.2. (OS: Windows Vista 64bit Home Premium; iTunes: 10.1.1.4) There was an error (unfortunately did not make a note of). Now my ipod touch is stuck in "Recovery Mode" and cannot be seen by Windows or iTunes. Windows does detect new hardware but when I browse for the drivers, I get the error "Could not find driver software" after I pointed exactly where it was located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support and C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers. I've tried removing all Apple software from my computer and then reinstalling iTunes but I get the same results. I don't know what else to try. Any ideas? Thanks!

I found a solution last night through http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1538. But thank you for trying. The worst part was that I was doing the right thing all along but I think there is a bug in Vista (or I don't understand why I couldn't do it the way I was). On the window that appears after I clicked "Browse my computer for driver software", there are 2 options. The first says "Browse for driver software on your computer" which has an edit box under it and a "Browse" button next to the edit box which allows you to pick the parent directory that driver is in. The second option says "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer". I knew where the drivers were so I was doing option one and it would not work (many repeated attempts after re-installing iTunes, etc.) - VERY FRUSTRATING. But now I'm up and running!!!

  • Why alum keyboard no longer recognized in Windows XP?

I just did the firmware update for my alum. keyboard and now I can't get it to type in the windows log in screen when I boot to XP Pro via bootcamp. Any suggestions or do I now have to wait for Apple to address this issue too?
    Thanks, Dan

Thanks for the suggestion. I've run software update and it says everything is up to date. Is there something else specifically I need to do to update bootcamp? Thanks again.

  • Fujitsu ScanSnap no longer recognized in Windows 7

After my husband installed FitBit software on our laptop, our ScanSnap S1500 suddenly stopped working.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the original software from CD, run Microsoft's FixIt, shutdown and restarted the laptop several times and the
laptop still cannot recognize the Scanner - "unknown Device"; I have also gone to the Fujitsu website and downloaded all new drivers, shutdown and started.  I still get a message the Microsoft stopped the device and a Code 43 error.  I
    am running Windows 7.
The scanner still works without any problem if it is attached to other PCs we own, so I don't think the device or the cable is defective.
I'm not particularly tech savvy, but I have followed all the online instructions I could find from Microsoft and from Fujitsu and cannot resolve my problem.
    Any suggestions?

Error code 43 means that a device driver is either missing, corrupt, outdated.
I shall suggest you to unplug the scanner and  uninstall the scanner completely from the Device Manager. Now reboot your system  plug in the scanner. Let the Windows detect the scanner. If it gets the correct and compatible driver via Windows
Update then fine, if it fails to do then visit manufacturer's site to download it.
    2nd option:
To go for a System Restore. Select any restore point when there was no such problem.
