Wireless printer for mac OSX 10.7.4 any recommendations

what is a good wireless printer for mac POC 10.7.4,having problems with hp 3050A

Hello Flajack,
Thanks for the post.  I did some checking here and the HP 3050a is compatible with MAC OS 10.7 in a wireless environment.  What kind of issues are you having?  Installation? Connectivity?  Maintaining a wireless connection?  I've included a couple of my favorite links below to assist in getting this resolved.  Check the information in these links and let me know how it goes from there.  Good Luck!

  • Best all-in-one wireless printer for Mac 10.9.2

Looking for best wireless all-in-one for home use.  I have Mac OSX 10.9.2, iPhone 5, iPad and a wireless network.  Not technically inclined.  Any recommendations?

I wish a few more users would take the time to share their experiences with printers. I have had a Canon MX870 for several years that is nothing but a perpetual headache -- it needs to be reconnected to the network three or four times a day or it simply will not print. There are lots of posts on this topic and I have tried every possible solution with no luck. I am reluctant to buy another Canon -- this experience has left me doubting their products. I am also reluctant, based on past experience, to consider an HP product. So that pretty much leaves Epson -- but which Epson? I am looking for an all-in-one wireless printer that will STAY CONNECTED to the network. Top-quality printing would be nice, but frankly, it's not on the top of my priority list. I just want to be able to use the printer, scanner and copier without wasting an hour of my day on maintenance. If you have had positive experience in this regard, please take a few seconds to post your recommendations. Thanks. (I am running the latest version of Mavericks on a new Mac Pro.)

  • Wireless printer for Mac OS X v 10.5.8

I have a Mac OS X v 10.5.8 - are there any wireless printers that will work with this version?  I purchased an HP Deskjet 3520 and it is not compatible.  Apparently I need to have a minimum of 10.6.  What HP printers are compatible?
    Thank you.

    I use a Canon MG8120 wireless printer/scanner with computer OS's 10.5 through 10.7.

  • Cannot locate printer for Mac OSX 10.8.2

I am trying to download software for my Macbook Air for the Office jet wireless 4500 and get the following error message every time I try and download the software for wireless printing.
"Software is currently not available from the software update server"

    Hi,
As the driver update download fails, please try any of the methods below:
Connect the printer using a USB (temporarly if you use network connection), then click the Apple Icon > Software Update and isntall the latest HP Update. Once the update completed you may add the printer through the network by clicking the plus sign other Print & Scan.
Manually download and install the following package, after completing the installation add the printer under Print & Scan:

    Hope that helps,

  • Wireless Printing: for Mac and PC

I am running a home wireless network. The AEBS --> Linksys router --> Modem. In addition, there is an HP LaserJet 2100M attached to the router. So the problem is I need to be able to connect my Macs and my wife's PC to the printer. I have no problem with the Macs - they are running through AppleTalk. Using Printer Setup Utility the location shows up as "Local zone". I think the problem may be that the PC doesn't recognize "AppleTalk".
So the question is how can I get the Macs and PCs to both connect to the printer?
I have tried using HP LaserJet Utility (OS9 vers) to change the settings on the printer. When I try to assign a manual TCP/IP address to the printer it states that "valid IP addresses must be entered for manual configuration" (even though the address should be valid: 192.168.150.101 on my network). therefore, I have to use the "Automatically obtain TCP/IP config from the DHCP server". I have also downloaded the HP LaserJet Utility for OSX. This doesn't seem to do much, and doesn't include the same options as the OS9 version - as far as I can tell it just uses the Apple "printer setup utility".
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Thanks
    Rob

The PC does not have to use Appletalk to communicate with the printer. If Appletalk works with the printer, let the Macs use it. After all, if you never changed anything on the printer, but just used it out of the box, there is no reason why you need to change anything for the PC.
You should just set up the PC printing on the network as if the Macs were not there, using whatever protocol the printer and PC want. You are probably just having a problem configuring the printer interface on the PC. Be sure that you are trying to communicate with it through your network interface, not through the printer port, although that should work, too, if your PC is connected that way.

  • How can I download a driver for a Brother printer DCP-J411ODW for Mac OSX 10.9.1?

How can I download a driver for a Brother printer DCP-J411ODW for Mac OSX 10.9.1? I go to the right place on the Brother website and instead of downloading a driver it says there is a problem. Also something I did download and stuff on the CD provided with the printer is for a PC not a MAc. Help please.

OK, connecting a Wi-Fi printer is a 2 step process.
    Connect printer to your network
Have computer to "see" printer on the network.
Follow Apple's steps for connecting a Wi-Fi printer in Printing in OS X. Read the article in it's entirety before installing.

  • Wireless usb adapter EW-7711UAn, drivers for Mac OSX 10.9 (Mavericks)

    Hi,
I have recently got a wifi usb adapter (above indicated) as my airport card is not working anymore and I needed a quick cheap option... After hours and hours trying to make the new device work, it seems the problem is the version of the drivers (there´s not drivers for Mac OSX 10.9) or that´s what I think. Does anyone know something about it? In the meantime I am waiting for an answer from MediaTek (the owner)... I´ll let you know if as soon as I get a reply what happens
    cheers!

this adapter is using the chip RT2870 of Ralink. You can download its driver for OSX 10.9 frome Ralink website.

  • What is the latest update available for Mac OSX 10.5.8 that will allow me to get the latest update for iTunes.  I really need to update my iPhone and CAN'T!!  GRRRR!!!

What is the latest update available for Mac OSX 10.5.8 that will allow me to get the latest update for iTunes.  I really need to update my iPhone and CAN'T!!  GRRRR!!!

Minimally you need Snow Leopard or greater:
Upgrade Paths to Snow Leopard, Lion, and/or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard — Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service — this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion — System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) —
                 Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
    Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table — RoaringApps.
For a complete How-To introduction from Apple see Upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion.

does it exist a wireless scanner for mac 10.8 ?

    There is no Airscan :-)
but you can scan wirelessly on any your OS compatible network scanner of MFP printer with a scanner.
This has to be connected to your network either via WiFi or Eth cable.

Do you mean a external cd/dvd drive that connects by usb port? If you do then any brand will work. It does not have to be a apple brand for it to work on your mac. Most go for around $30 in the usa.
I use a asus brand that cost me just under $30. Works on any computer it is connect to.

  • Vmware Fusion Beta for Mac OSX Released Today

I don't know if this is the correct forum; if it's not, please pardon me.
VMware Fusion Beta for Mac OSX has been released today. This product, while the developers admit has some bugs in it, promises to make virtual computing a whole lot easier and would eliminate for many (not all) the need to use Boot Camp. The link for this new program is http://www.vmware.com/products/beta/fusion/
On that page you can find links for support and forums as well.
If you need a free virtual appliance to use with Fusion, then use this link http://www.vmware.com/vmtn/appliances/
Currently, there is no charge for using the BETA program. The VMWare folks are asking people to give feedback on their use of the product.
This is what we've been waiting for to purchase our new MAC. I can say without a doubt that from my own experience with Linux boxes, VMWare is the best virtual solution on the market. It's easy to configure and supports a wide variety of hardware and OSs. I can even move the virtual machines I created under Linux to my new MAC when I receive it.
The time has finally dawned for me to retire the last remaining pc towerbox in my home. My wife and I recently expunged one of those machines earlier this week and are eagerly looking forward to getting rid of the other one.
We am really looking forward to purchasing the new Mac Pro. What makes it especially appealing for us is it's scalability and the fact that we can use our current hardware, including our Kensington Track Ball mouse and current monitor with it, although we are taking a serious look at a new Apple Display as well.
Many thanks to everyone for taking the time to read this post. I am looking forward to joining and my wife is looking forward to rejoining the MAC community.
