I have an acer laptop.I am using a belkin router.I also have an hp wireless printer.I had everything working right until I changed my internet & phone from cable to satillite to save money.I contacted belkin and they told me taht my problem wwas that I needed a more powerful router.I puchased one from them and I still cannot get my printer to connect. Please help. thank you

Hello @craftyone61,
I understand that after changing your internet and phone to a satellite connection your HP Deskjet 3520 e-All-in-One Printer stopped working over the network with your Windows computer. I would like to assist you today with resolving this wireless connectivity issue. Now, just so you are aware, any time you make a change on your network (network name, password, change of router, or changing service type: satellite) would require you to rerun the wireless setup for your printer to 'allow' your printer access to the network with the new changes present. If you did not run the wireless setup for your HP Deskjet after your service changed from cable to satellite, than you may not require that new router as the reason your printer was failing to work was because it did not have permission to access the new satellite network. To reconfigure the wireless on your printer and resolve this wireless connectivity issue please follow the steps below.
You will need a USB Cable for the wireless configuration. Do not plug in the USB Cable at this time. Should you have a USB Cable currently connected to your computer from your HP Deskjet, please disconnect that cable before proceeding.
Step 1: Remove Driver:
To ensure that there are not duplicates of your printer installed once we've completed the wireless setup of your Deskjet, I am going to have you remove your driver. This way we have a nice clean slate to work with.
Click on your Start menu
Select All Programs
Select the HP folder
Select the HP Deskjet
Select Uninstall
Please follow the onscreen prompts to complete the uninstall. Once the uninstall is complete please proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Install and Configure Wireless:
Please click here to download the latest drivers for your printer
Once the download is complete please follow the onscreen prompts to install your printer
When prompted choose the 'Wireless' connection method
You will now see a Wireless Setup Using a USB Connect screen. This screen will prompt you to connect your USB Cable. When prompted, please connect the USB Cable.
The wireless configuration will now take place
Once the wireless connection has been established you will be prompted to disconnect the USB Cable
You should now be able to use your printer wirelessly again.

Please respond to this post with the result of your wireless reconfiguration. Good luck!

  • Wireless Printing Help/Advice

I would like to be able to print to 2 different printers wirelessly. I currently have an HP all in one that I was able to set up through my Netgear WGPS606 print server, and it works well. I also need to purchase a laser to use and would like to hook up also. The server allows for 2 printers, so I don't think it should be a problem to hook up another. My problem is, I am looking at the HP 1022 and Netgears says that printer is incompatable with all wireless print servers. The reviews on the Apple site have people stating that they are using this printer with an Airport Express. Is the Airport Express that much different thant my Netgear server? I only went with the Netgear so I can use 2 printers. Does anyone know of another wireless print server that allows for 2 printers to be hooked up? Sorry for so many questions, but it seems wireless printing is still in its infancy? Or maybe no one has figured out an esy way to do it!

    Greg as promised,
The ESP I (Had) is Print Pro I did not have Ghostscript but did have hpijs foomatic. I still have the many Print Pro drivers but have just obtained the EPS companion CD in the hope of a painless installation of Ghostscript. Sadly that seems to be so only for OS other than OSX. I have the ghostscript files from an ESP download but compiling and installing from the command line is beyond me and so far I have failed to find compiled binaries. I have used Fink for Ethereal and something else but don't want to try such for something as important as the printing. Do you know of a location for up to date compiled Ghostscript?
I am finding it very difficult to get a not abnormal print server to run this HP from this Mac. Is it really too much to hope that this vaunted OS have a built in printer interface that copes with plain vanilla print devices? I know there are many more printers than OS and that tends to put the blame on the printers. However that multiplicity of printers cant reflect a similar variation in fundamental characteristics so perhaps the platforms should get a share of blame. Don't you bother answering that Greg. There are other more partisan conflicts in this forum I might wade into.

  • Wireless printer help please

I just had my OS reinstalled and now my mac can't find my wireless printer. The only things that seem to be listed under Apps are my printer related manuals, etc.

First you should look at the printer manufacturer website and see if the printer is supported for Mavericks.
If it is, try this, it will probably work:
key step: uninstall all printer manufacturer apps and "utilities"
go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > Print
control-click on your printer in the column on the left
select "Reset Printing System..." and "reset" in the dialog that follows
do a factory reset on your printer. You'll have to consult the printer manual for how.
power down everything: modem, router, computer, and printer
power up each item in turn in the same order: modem, router, computer, and printer. Let each power up completely before moving on to the next
enter your wifi password in your printer so it can connect to the network
go back to printers & scanners and it should see your printer and download a driver for it from Apple
resist the temptation to install any printer manufacturer apps in the future.

  • Wireless Printing Help

I just bought a Samsung CLP-300 Color Laser Printer and I can't seem to get it to print wirelessly when it is connected to my airport via usb. I just replaced this printer with my HP Inkjet that had no problems printing wirelessly through my airport via usb.
Please someone help before my wife gets home and punches me for replacing her printer.
    Thanks in advanced!

Hello jeremydpenn. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
Unfortunately, not all USB printers are compatible with AirPort base stations. In addition, the AirPort's USB port does not support the "advanced" printer functions, like scanning, copying or faxing, of multi-function printers.
To see if your printer is compatible, take a look at one of these iFelix Unofficial AirPort Printer Compatibility links, depending on which AirPort base station you have:
o 802.11g AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS) or AirPort Express Base Station (AX)
o 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn)
If your printer isn't listed, it doesn't necessarily mean it won't work, but simply that it has not been verified. iFelix also provides the following workaround for printers not on the list that would certainly be worth a try.

  • Solution to Ipad/ Airprint wireless printing problems

I recently spent several hours trying unsuccessfully to get my ipad mini, IOS7.1, to print to an HP7525 printer using the airprint feature built into both units. I tried every trick offered on many Apple and HP forums but to no avail. I then discovered that my router, an ASUS RT-N1 3U does not properly support the Bonjour packet protocols which are essential to Airprint. So I bought a new router, the Canadian D-Link AC1200 (model DIR-860L), hoping it would solve the problem. It worked like a charm instantly. The Bonjour printer wizard now had the HP7525 in its list of printers and my IPAD mini could now print my Foreflight aviation charts, as well as anything else. It also seems to have solved another HP7525 problem whereby the wireless link goes down after 5 minutes and the printer has to be rebooted every time you want to print something. The link now stays up permanently!. I just hope my good fortune in solving these problems can be of use to others.
My PC operating sysem is WIN 7 64 bit.

These settings are for setting up your wireless printer to stay connected to your router, keep wireless devices better connected and make your router secure and hack proof.
    1. Set a static IP in the printer (click here) outside the DHCP range of the router (check your manual).
This is for Linksys routers but can be used for all routers.  Verify your DHCP range and change this
first if needed.  More Wireless Printing help is here.
    2. Verify in the printer that 'Auto Off' is disabled.  Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) by going to the
printers IP address in your browsers address bar, click  Settings Tab/Auto Off.  Or use the Printer
        Assistant, Printer Home Page (EWS).
In the router:  (Refer to your router manual for information)
    3. Use a fixed wireless channel like 1,6 or 11, never 'auto', try channel 1 first then the rest.
    4. Set router to 20Mhz only, or 145Mbps depending on router.
    5. Always use WPA2-AES (Personal) encryption, but you can try ‘mixed’ mode.
    6. Disable WPS and never use it and disable UPnP for the routers security.  Nobody can hack your
system now and helps with wireless connectivity (if you want to know why, search the web).
    7. If you have a dual band router (2.4Ghz and 5.0Ghz bands), make sure the SSID’s are NOT the same,
they must be different for all bands, even for any Guest networks.
    8. Save all settings.  Power off both, wait 2 mins.  Power on router wait 2 mins.
    9. Power on printer and verify it reconnects to router.
Windows 7/8/8.1   Is Network Discovery on or off?
Control Panel/Network and Internet/Network and Sharing Center/Advanced sharing settings.
Under Home or Work (current profile) / Network Discovery.
Select "Turn on network discovery" and save changes.

  • HP2710 Wireless printing wont work

How in the world do you set the printer up for wireless printing?

Well the first thing to do is read the instruction manual which came with the printer which explains the step by step procedure to get you up and running and loading the CD.
After that you can try here.

  • Using a wireless print server... help!

Hi. I have a G5 on a wireless network using a LinkSys WRT-54G router. I just got a wireless print server (D-Link DPR-1260) and want to network my HP 6110xi All-in-one printer. 6110 drivers are installed, and printer previously worked fine when connected directly to computer via USB port.
Now, I want to share it over the wireless network. I believe I have the print server correctly configured... just not sure how to configure my G5 to print across the network to this printer. How do I set it up?
    Particulars:
    - LinkSys WRT-54G, 802.11g wireless router, firmware v4.20.7 (192.168.0.1)
    - D-Link DPR-1260, wireless print server, firmware v1.00 (192.168.0.10, static)
    - HP 6110xi All in One, latest drivers from HP downloaded and installed.
    - iMac G5, (192.168.0.100, dynamic IP)
Thanks for any help provided. Regards.

    Hi JD77!
    And Welcome to Apple Discussions
You have 2 computers respectively connected each to a printer.
    DSL Modem (ethernet)
    ||
    PC1 = Printer1 (USB) (Win)
    PC2 =Printer2 (USB) (iMac)
    PC3 WIFI WinXP laptop
The iMac has built-in Bonjour technology. So use that. If your windows PC has XP you can download Bonjour for that one as well and use that to share your printer.
What you can do is use the Airport Express and connect it to a USB printer. Make sure that it is compatible printer.

  • HP LJ4mv wireless printer worked with OS 10.5.5 but not with 10.6.3 - help!

My ancient HP worked with 10.4.11 and 10.5.1 thru 10.5.5 wirelessly. With 10.5.6 thru 10.5.8 installed, the printer did ot work and only the Adobe printer appeared in the Printer/Fax setup. With 10.5.5, I was experiencing random horizontal gray lines, polygons with gradient colors (cyan and magenta) flashing on and off and smeared dialog boxes and drop down menues. So, I upgraded to 10.5.8 and lost the artifacts and my wireless printer. All drivers are current (Software Update delivered/installed updated drivers today.)
10.6.3 is now installed and I still do not have a wireless printer. The Adobe PDF printer pops up and in the Printer/Fax dialog, it indicates "Kind" as HP LaserJet 4V/4MV Postscript. The Default button is active but all other buttons are grayed out and my printer does not appear.
Summary: the printer works, the wireless router works and the drivers are current.
    Q. How can I get my wireless printer back? I need it badly.
    Thanks.
    Leonard

    Kappy, thx.
The driver that is appearing now with the Adobe printer worked fantastically with 10.5.5, HP LaserJet 4V/4MV Postscript. This is from Apple, I believe. My printer does not show up when + is selected in the Print & Fax dialog and the Printer Name/Kind list appears. Only the Adobe is there.
I d'l'd/instld the Gutenprint. I cannot select it until the printer appears in the Printer Name/Kind field.
    What is SL? :S
    Greg, thx.
The printer is cat 5 to the ISP's wireless router and I am wireless. This has always worked up to 10.5.5. I incrementally d'l'd os upgrades 10.5.6, 10.5.7 and 10.5.8 and found the printer would not appear when I tried to add it. With Leopard, up to 10.5.5, my printer appeared automatically and I just had to make a selection from the "Print Using:" drop down.
    Bruce, thx.
AppleTalk was a part of the setup and in 10.6, I cannot find AppleTalk. So you may be right about the IP route. Would Apple change this in the middle of Leopard with 10.5.6 (it worked up to 10.5.5) and not with 10.5.0 or 10.6.0? Would there not be an announcement that AppleTalk printer support was ending? No one in these forums knows that AppleTalk printer support was ended (I first posted in the Leopard forums)?
Sorry for the skepticism. I just did not think this was a possiblity but maybe you are right.
Is there a way to get an Apple reading on this? Should I set up a print server for wireless access? Any other suggestions?
Thanks again all. I much appreciate your help.
    Leonard

  • Help setting up a Laserjet P1102w for wireless printing on a Mac

I'm trying to setup a Laserjet P1102w on my Mac for wireless printing, but it's not working.  It will print fine using USB, but all the documentation for wireless setup is for Windows, not Mac.  if I connect the printer via USB to my Mac, how will it get an IP address from my wireless network?  Any help appreciated.

    Hi Staxofjoy,
Based on the information you provided, and comparing to another post regarding this issue (link below) - It sounds like you are running 10.7 (Lion).
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Mac-Printing-and-Scanning/HP-Laserjet-P1102w-driver-for-Macbook-OS-X-Li...
Please go to the linked thread above, and look for the post by mikel1004 - he outlined the steps for connecting Adhoc to the printer very clearly.
Summary of what you will need to to:
    1. Reset Printer to Defaults
    2. Connect to printer via Adhoc from your Mac (This will disconnect you from your home wireless network)
    3. Access HTML Config, and configure the printer's wireless settings manually from there.
    4. Reconnect the Mac to the Home Network
    5. Add the printer to the print queue.
    Hope this helps

    Hey Guys!
I just got my AirPort Extreme Base, but I can't use my HP Deskjet F4580 wireless printer with it.
The printer is not connected to the AirPort Extreme's USB port. It is placed in another room, and I'd like to use it (the printer) wirelessly (not connected to the USB port os the AirPort Extreme), as I used to. There is no place for the printer close the AirPort Extreme. It worked just fine with my previous wireless router (Linksys WRT54G). I'm very disappointed with the AirPort Extreme Base Station because of that!...
