Wireless printer losing connection hourly.
I currently have a Cisco 4400 wireless controller running 7.0.116. We use Cisco 1262, 1242 and 1210 Access Points. I am fairly new to all this. Our issue is that we have a wireless laser device that runs fine for about 1 hour and then loses connection. I can not ping the device and the web page via IP is no longer reachable. The printer regains connection after a power off/on. I have talked with the manufacturer and supplied logs to them and they say they do not see anything. Other devices in the office are running fine. I am wondering if there is a setting closing idle ports. The only clue I have it that it appears to be when the device is idle.
We have gone 3 hours now without issue, there was one change made. I noticed that the time on the printer was manually set and lagged the network time by 6 minutes. I corrected that and we have been without issue since. Without a time server paying attention does the 4400 WLC or WPA2-PSK/AES have any sensitivity to that? Security time out caused by time issue on peripheral device?
I have moved this discussion to the Cisco Enterprise Product group. #3369390

Envy 4500 wireless printer wifi connection too strong! Cancels all other users
Inave wireless printer connected to e wifi, also 2 iPads and iPhone on wifi. The printer over powers the other items and makes using the pads and phone difficult how do I change the settings on the printer as per the network recommendation
Hello jsimps0110,
Welcome to the HP Forums! I understand you are unable to connect your Envy 4500 over a wireless connection. Looks like you have tried a couple of troubleshooting steps to try and fix this issue.
Please follow this HP document on 'Unable to find printer' Over A Wireless Connection.
Make sure you have turned off any Firewalls or Anti-Virus on your computer.
If this document doesn't resolve your issue, then I would suggest connecting this printer with a USB cord. After you have performed this step, try Convert USB To A Wireless Connection.
Please inform me your troubleshooting steps.

Wireless Keyboard losing connection while BT headset in use
Hi,
I got a Samsung SBH500 Stereo Headset, and when I'm listening to music and using my Apple Wireless Keyboard and Apple Mighty Mouse, the keyboard keep losing connections.
Already tried to trash the preference file, change the Favorite status of everything, but the problem goes on and on.
While writing this post the connection was lost twice, and it's becoming frustrating...
Help, please.I decide to run some test.
1) Wireless Keyboard + Wireless Headset + Wired Mouse works fine.
2) Wireless Mouse + Wireless Headset + Internal Keyboard works fine.
3) This is obvious, but to said i tried: Wireless Keyboard + Wireless Mouse works fine.
So here's what I'm thinking...
A software/firmware problem with the Macs bluetooth or the headset uses way too much data so 3 devices is too much. I don't think is too much data, because if it wore probably would disconnect the devices randomly, not only the keyboard. -
My windows firewall is disabled (protected by Comcast's Norton program) so that should not be a problem. Should I down load Bonjour?
Hello Bleedingblue65
Check out the section highlighted below to troubleshoot your issues printing through AirPrint.
AirPrint Basics
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
If you are unable to print, or if you see the message "No AirPrint Printers Found"
Verify that the printer:
Has power and is turned on. If it has power, turn the printer off and then on again to see if that resolves the issue.
Is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the iOS device.
Has the latest firmware version installed.
Has paper with enough ink or toner installed.
Is free of any errors displayed on the printer's control panel.
If necessary, consult the printer documentation or contact the printer vendor for help with the above steps.
Notes:
AirPrint printers connected to the USB port of the Apple AirPort Base Station or Time Capsules are not supported with AirPrint.
Some Wi-Fi AirPrint printers can take several minutes to join a Wi-Fi network after being turned on. Ensure that the AirPrint printer is connected to the Wi-Fi network before attempting to print.

Wireless Receivers Losing Connection
Thank you very much for the helpful responses. We have made it a week without a single drop out after I re-cabled the WAP with a longer Ethernet cord, which is now 10 feet away from the RG. Both wireless receivers in our home seem to be working beautifully. I would like to commend the technicians who curate this forum. I could have easily just called AT&T customer service, but I fear a sales person would have only thrown new a receiver/WAP/RG at the problem without truly trying to diagnose my issue. You guys saved me a lot of time and frustration. Thank you.
No it is not the norm....Are you in a single family home, large lot size or a close living situation such as apartment, condo, small lot size with many other homes near. When dealing with wireless devices interference is always a potential problem. The WAP is direct connected to RG (yellow port) not a switch or other device. If issue is not a loose or flaky connection between the RG (yellow port) and WAP (Ethernet cable), and known solid power supply connection (WAP not losing power). There is at least three feet, ideally 5 or more, of separation between the RG and WAP (not side by side). Do not suspect distance or material passing through problem (number of bars). Then possible issue is interference from another WAP (close living arrangements) where the channels are changing as each WAP tries to find best frequency on 5Ghz band. A dual band router could also be issue. If have android device recommend free app WiFi Analyzer, can shoe both 2.4 and 5 range, if on 5 seeing other Ciscos may need to consider hardwiring (Ethernet) the receiver to RG and get off wireless. Another app is inSSIDer has both free (limited devices shown) and paid (shows all devices seen). As WAP / wireless receiver are 5 GHz other possible devices that could affect is wireless headphones, etc.... Have not checked to see if bluebtooths are now doing 5, but know bluebtooths were 2.4 along with microwaves (still 2.4) and a whole list of other devices.

How to i get my hp 4500 series wireless printer to connect to my i pad
how to i get my hp wireless 4500 deskjet printer to work with my ipad
Hi,
You may print from your iPad through the local network using the HP ePrint mobile app.
You may find the steps to get and use the app in the following link:

Wireless printer wont connect to samsung tab
Hi,
Just downloaded the all in one app for a samsung galaxy tab3. The printer is a officejet 6500. Ive connected the printer to wifi but the tab wont connect to the printer. It showsnits found it, but says unavailable. Any ideas? ThanksHi,
What is the exact printer model?
If it is the HP Officejet 6500 (e709) printer, I afraid it only support printing via the HP ePrint app, the printer is not supported for the HP All-In-One Remote app:

Wireless Keyboard losing connection - Mouse acting funky
I keep getting a "connection lost" message and then have to "wake up" the keyboard. I just changed the batteries in both the wireless mighty mouse & wireless keyboard. The mouse keeps getting very "choppy" and unresponsive, then straightens out after a few minutes. Also lots of keyrepeats. The problem has been here for a while but seems to be getting worse. All software & firmware is up to date. When I turn on the keyboard the light only stays on for a few seconds then goes out.
DaveThere should be four tiny wires with round connectors, each labelled "1" "2" "3" and "BT". 1-3 are for the Airport card and BT is for Bluetooth.
Try these pics to help you to identify the cable and the bluetooth module:

Wireless Mouse Losing Connection
Anyone else having this problem? It just cuts out and I get the picture on the screen saying "Connection Lost." It doesn't seem to matter what I'm doing. I have an new, extra bluetooth mouse (because I'm clumsy and have tile floors...) and that one won't work either. So, I resort to the wired mouse from my old computer. I've tried new batteries, too, even though there was no warning of them running out of power.
Any thoughts?I usually turn my BT mouse off and flip it upside down so when the computer comes on next morning at 6, it's not paired.
This morning I turned it on, flipped it to working pose and it didn't pair quickly at all. With fresh batteries, it would work for only a few minutes, then lose its connection.
Over and over and over.
A full re-boot seems to have fixed it, but one is always suspicious after a software update comes in as happened yesterday with iMovie 9.0.2. -
Wireless Mesh losing connectivity
My client has a Cisco 2504 controller running 7.5.102.0 code. They have 2602E APs as Mesh Root AP and Mesh APs. The distance between the antennas is approximately 30 feet. The client is complaining of constant drops. To date I have configured preferred partent on both mesh APs, and dropped min tx rates to lower multi-path issues in this manufacturing environment.
This is from the output from today's event log:

Please help! I have an Airport Extreme (model A1143) as my router, and I have several devices connected to it wirelessly and wired. I have my Macbook, Macbook Pro, iPad 1, iPhone 4S, HTC Thunderbolt, Cannon wireless printer, and Apple TV (gen 1) connected wirelessly. I have my PS3, an external hard drive and DirecTV connected via ethernet cable (but sometimes my PS3 is also connected wirelessly).
I began to notice a few months back that my wireless printer had connection errors and could not print. And I noticed soon after that, from time to time, the internet connection on my Macbook and iPad was extremely slow, to the point that I could not surf the web. I tried several different printers before realizing that this problem was happening only when I had my PS3 turned on. I tried both PS3 wirelessly and wired, but the problem persisted. I figured it was a problem with the PS3, so I just made sure that PS3 is off when I need to use the wireless in the house. But I recently bought an ATV (gen 1) and also noticed the same problem when it was connected to the Airport Extreme (wirelessly) - i.e., Ican't print, and my internet is super super slow on macbook, ipad, etc.
So, it must be that my Airport Extreme is the problem, not the PS3 or the ATV. Is there anything I can do to fix this (i.e., some setting that has to be changed)? Or do you think that my Extreme is just dying out on me and it's time for a replacement (I bought it about 5 years ago)? This problem, for reasons unknown to me, has resolved itself on its own. After several attempts finally everything decided to work. How does stuff like this happen? Thank you.

Wireless printer and wifi wont connect at same time
Hello
I have a Mac Mini with software version 10.6.8 I also have a HP wireless printer and for some reason cannot get my wirless internet and wireless printer to connect at the same time, to print anything I have to disconnect from the internet and to use the internet I have to disconnect from the printer can anyone help?
Many thanks,
KieraIt sounds as though you did not configure your wireless printer to join your usual wireless network. It may be communicating directly with your Mini using an "ad-hoc" configuration, bypassing your wireless router. This will be inconvenient at best.
Refer to your HP printer's documentation to determine how to configure it to join your existing wireless network... the same one you use to connect to the Internet. -
Wireless printer can't connect to airport network
I recently installed the new airport extreme (n) to replace my old router. I set up the wireless network with WPA protection and my computers and airport express work fine. However, I have been unable to get my HP all-in-one wireless printer to connect. The printer connects fine if I set up the network without security.
HP is suggesting that I set up my printer with a "WEP equivalent key" to my WPA password.
Can anyone tell me where I can get a "WEP equivalent key" to WPA? HP won't say and is suggesting I call Apple.Simple answer is - you cannot. There is no such thing as a "WEP equivalent key" to WPA, because WEP and WPA are completely different security protocols.
Does your printer's wireless interface support WPA? If may be that it only supports WEP, and what HP is actually recommending you do is use WEP (instead of WPA) security on your base station. WEP passwords are typically configured on a computer (or other wireless client device) as either a string of alphanumeric characters, or the hexadecimal equivalent to that alphanumeric string.
