  • Wireless printer not responding.

Hi I use Airport Extreme to connect my printer wirelessly. However despite my printer (epson px710w) showing it is connected neither my laptop nor ipad can find the printer. They say it is disconnected.  I have reconfigured printer which happily prints when connected with a cable. Any ideas?

When you plug the printer into the extreme, you need to RE-ADD the printer to your System Preferences, because the location has changed.
And it wont work from the iPad, if your printer does not suport AIR-PRINT.

If you have enough room on the boot drive, head to System Preferences > Accounts and create another Admin Account, log out and into it and try your Software Update again.
If this doesn't work, connect a Ethernet cable to the router or modem (power off/on) and try again.

  • HT3771 printer not responding

I have problems printing. Print one document then get message saying printer not responding.  All equipment is on and Hub is all lit. Any hints? Also tried printing from I Phone and no joy.

For further assistance, I will need some further information:
    1. If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link.Whatsmyos.
    2. How the printer is connected Wireless, Ethernet, or USB.
    3. If the printer is able to make copies by itself. (Place a sheet of paper face up on the feeder, and select Copy instead of Scan).
    4. If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.

  • Lexmark Optra T610: "Printer Not Responding"

Right. Where to start. Just got a new PB G4 17". Used to have a titanium G4 15" running 10.1 through 10.3. Now running 10.4.3 on this new 'book. I have a Lexmark Optra T610 with the USB option, which used to function just fine on the old computer but which is now making me want to toss gasoline and a lighted match on it. Basically, all the necessary software has been installed and the correct (ie, working) cable has been connected. The Printer Setup Utility sees and recognizes the printer, and I can select it in all the print dialogs, as well as change various settings such as resolution. However, when I press Print and the computer does its thing and sends the file to the printer, I get an error message saying "Printer Not Responding". This is driving me nuts and I can't find any word of this anywhere (mind you, I haven't come to the "end" of the internet yet, so maybe the answer is actually out there somewhere). And yes, I have tried doing strange things, such as deleting PPDs and preferences and so forth. I've also gone through all the menus on the printer until it's obvious I'm going in circles. It's like the printer has turned into a feline that simply ignores its master. GRRRR!!!! Thanks for any help you can provide. --Pete

I have had exactly the same problem from my iBook. Until I upgraded to Tiger all I had to do was plug in the USB cable and print. Now I get the "Printer Not Responding" message. I install the latest print driver for OS 10.4 from Lexmark and the computer lists the printer in the print dialog box.
I spoke with Apple tech support and he suggested resetting the printing system after reviewing what else I had done. Noting had worked and neither did this. The only other thing he could suggest was to contact Lexmark, if that didn't work he said we would have to try an archive and reinstall.
I really hope someone has a more constructive suggestion.
    Thanks,
    Edward

  • Printer not responding message

My computer no longer works with my printer. I have a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.9.2 and a HP C 6280. Original problem started today when I tried to print, intial indication was normal but after a minute or so computer print info shows "printer not responding" message. Printer is plugged in,  works as a copier and I printed a HP Network Configuration Page from the printer itself.  I followed instructions on the forum and took the printer away System Preferences>Printers Scanners> Delete and when I tried to reinstall the printer it's not finding it. Looking online it seems the printer should appear as an option when I click the plus on Printer Scanners page I get an ADD screen but the printer isn't listed there either and I can't add it. IP address typed  in Browser window doesn't find anything but I don't know how to fix that. I am using a Cable set up and the printer is hooked up via ethernet cable to the modem. This printer has worked fine till now I would certainly appreciate any help getting it back online. Thank You

    Hi di757,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I see that you can't get your printer back online with an Ethernet connection.
I would recommend to try and power off the Mac, turn off the printer, unplug the router for 30 seconds, plug the router back in, turn the printer back on, then turn the Mac back on. After that unplug the Ethernet cable from both ends and plug it back in.
Then I would try to follow this guide. OS X v10.9 Mavericks: Installing and Using the Printer on a Mac.
Hope this helps, and have a great day.

    Hi 69maverick,
We recommend reinstalling the drivers and software for the printer using the latest drivers from the Canon USA website to get your printer reconnected to your network.  Please click here to go to the Drivers and Software page for the PIXMA MG3520.  Once on the initial download page for your model, please do the following:
    1. Verify that the operating system detected in the "OPERATING SYSTEM" drop-down menu is correct, and if it is not, please click the drop-down menu to select your operating system.
    2. Next, please click on the red arrow next to the "RECOMMENDED FOR YOU" section and click the FULL DRIVER AND SOFTWARE PACKAGE file. When you do, a red DOWNLOAD button will appear. Please click on the checkbox below the DOWNLOAD button, then click the red DOWNLOAD button to begin the download. The time for the download process may vary depending on the speed of your Internet connection and the size of the file being downloaded.
Once you have downloaded the Full Driver and Software Package file, please double-click on the file and follow the steps provided to reinstall the printer wirelessly.
    Hope this helps!

Hi sleazy1369, we're glad to help.
There are a few possible causes of printing error occurring under a wireless or USB connection.  If the driver was downloading when pressing the print button, an interruption in the process and ability to print could occur.  However, please remove any print jobs that may be pending in the print queue, disconnect the USB cable (if still connected) and shut down both your computer and multifunction printer for 10 mins.
If you prefer to print wirelessly, please use the following link to Article: "Printer not responding (Wireless LAN)- MG5420 / MG5422" on the Canon USA product page for your product. Thee steps provided can be helpful in resolving the issue.
Once reaching the website, just enter the Article name in the FAQ Search box and press "Search" to retrieve the information.
However, if the issue remains or further assistance is needed, please feel free to Contact Us and we'll be happy to help you further.

Yes my friend I am from Iraq and I work in the field of sale and maintenance of printers canon inkjet only five years ago
Now first of all clear the software for printers that are on your computer
I mean that you delete programs and printers
Now unplug all printers that you have from your computer
    Restart the computer
Now Put your installation disk in the drive
Or download the installation program for the printer from Canon site

printer not present when trying to connect even though drivers have been installed

    Hi Marc,
If you are having issues with printing from your iMac I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -
    Mac 101: Printing (Mac OS X v10.6)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3771
    Specifically -
Troubleshooting steps you can use if there is an issue
Ensure the printer is connected, has power, has ink / toner, paper, and no alerts on its built-in display.
Network based printers should be on the same subnet; you shouldn't have to worry about this if your printer is on your home network.
Use Software Update for the latest available updates.
Delete the affected printer from Printer & Fax System Preferences, then re-add the printer.
If the issue persists, try these additional steps:
Reset the printing system (see below). Then, add the printer again.
If the issue persists, reset the printing system again.  Download and install your printer's drivers from here. Then, add the printer again.
If the issue still persists, contact the printer vendor or visit their website for further assistance.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
    Brett L

  • Network printer not responding

    Hello
When I try to print from my MacBook to my Canon network printer, I get the error message "printer not responding", even the printer works fine with both windows notebooks connected to the same WLAN.
I have a Canon MF8540Cdn printer connected with Ethernet to my router. The printer has the ip address 10.1.1.10, the gateway is 10.1.1.1 (Router IP) and the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0.
Then I have three notebooks, one MacBook (IP 10.1.1.101) and two windows notebooks (a HP notebook (IP 10.1.1.102) and a Lenovo notebook (IP 10.1.1.103)). All three notebooks are connected wo the same WLAN using enterprise encryption.
The two windows notebooks can print to the canon printer perfectly fine and have not havd any issues at all.
However, from the MacBook I can not print since the upgrade to OSX 10.9.1 Mavericks. I have the latest update from Mavericks.
So, I deleted the printer (settings - printer) and resetted the printing system and deleted the printer also in the folder "Library - Printers". Then I got the latest driver (version 10.2) from Canon and installed the driver (dmg file).
Next I added the printer in the in the settings  as follows:
    1. Hit the "+" buttton to add a printer
    2. Select "IP"
    3. enter the ip address of the printer (10.1.1.10)
    4. Select "Line printer daemon"
    5. The system automatically detected the printer "MF8500 Series" and filled in the location.
    6. Add the printer
When I open the printer options now, I can see the toner levels corretly, so the MacBook must have connection to the printer.
In addition, I can open the printer web address in Safary by going to http://10.1.1.10 , this also works fine and I can modify settings too. So the IP connection is also fine here.
But, when I print a document, PDF, Word, Safari,..., the system firs report "connecting to the printer" and after a while it states "printer not responding"!
The printer seems not to get any info, as it does not start or show any error message.
However, the two windows notebooks can print fine, and I tried to print from windows, then directly after print from the MacBook, or first MacBook then windows or both allone, wait 1 hour print from MacBook, then wait one hour and print from Windows.
The result is always the same. The windows print fine, the MacBook does not print and reports printer not responding.
If I check the log file on the MacBook, it shows the time and the job number and then printer not responding.
Meanwhilte I deleted the printer aleready a couple times and also reinstalled the printer driver from Canon. On the Canon cummunity I also submitted a ticket, but everybody responded that the driver works perfectly fine.
Any idea, where the problem could be?
    Thanks for any help,
    Rolly

    Select "Line printer daemon"
Why are you doing that? When you select the printer in the Add dialog, the driver should be entered automatically. Does that not happen?

    Your AirPort Extreme supports WPA.
WEP is outdated and considered fairly useless, so use WPA.
Be sure you are using AirPort Utility  5.6. If you are not running Lion then use AirPort Utility 5.5.3.
