Wireless Printing 101...Please help

I bought an iMac this spring along with a Samsung ML-1630W wireless printer. Until recently, I was printing with a USB attached from the printer to the computer.
I just got Airport Express so I could move my computer to different rooms, but the printer has to stay put. AE works fine for internet access, but I can't figure out how to set up the printer to print via the network. Right now, I have the USB going from the AE device into the printer. (According to the AE manual, that's all I need to do) But it doesn't work.
I'm a total novice...used PC's my whole life till I made the switch to Apple in March. Could someone explain to me how to get this thing to work so I can print wirelessly? Thanks!

Have you used Airport Utility (in the utilities folder) to verify that the printer is show as connected to the AE? You may want to restart the AE with the printer connected.

i have a canon mp500 connected to a network through a wireless printserver and wireless router. the printer works when directly connected to my macbook, but not when connected to the print server. i contacted linksys and they sent a docment on how to set the printer up using it's ip address. still didn't work (the instructions were for 10.1 and 10.2). i have downloaded and installed the current mac os x drivers from the canon website with no luck. please help

I'm no expert, but I was able setup HP printer connected wirelessly to AEBS by using Apple's Printer Setup Utility and Bonjour. I was, however, able to install the HP drivers using the software that came with the printer, but it sounds like you could not do so with Canon?
Anyway, here are Apple's help files for adding an IP printer:
"Connecting to an IP printer
An IP printer is a network printer that uses TCP/IP protocols (such as LPD/LPR, IPP, or Socket or Jet Direct) to communicate with your computer. If the IP printer you want to use is not listed when you print, you can add it to your list of available printers.
To add an IP printer, you need to know its IP address or DNS name. See your network administrator for assistance.
Open the document to print, and choose File > Print.
Choose Add Printer from the Printer pop-up menu, and click IP Printer in the dialog that appears.
Choose the appropriate printing protocol from the Protocol pop-up menu.
Type the IP address or DNS name for the printer in the Address field.
If your printer requires it, type the queue name for your printer in the Queue Name field. If you don't know the queue name, see your network administrator for assistance.
Enter a name and location for the printer, so you can identify it in the Printer pop-up menu.

Hi I wanted to start a digital printing business please help me with photoshop.
I've never used the program before and dont know how to design either. I got the trial edition of the photoshop extended and do I need to take some form of lessons or how do I start learning photo shop to do things like Banners, posters, signage, digital printing in other words...

Before you invest any money in a startup business you MUST make sure you are able to compete with the competition. What you are saying is a bit like - I want to start a bakery but I cant cook and don't know how to use an oven - this might sound negative but try imagine the taste of the cakes....
If you really want to enter into the market your best bet would be to hire a designer/someone who knows about printing/profiling etc as printing can be complex, especially when you bump into technical problems.....You can always learn along side him/her. I don't want to put you off so GO FOR IT!!, but it is tough out there at the moment.

Canon all-in-one printer can't print? Please, help

I recently bought a Canon Pixma MG3550 all-in-one printer. I didn't get a USB cable in the package so i decided to connect it wirelessly. I tried everything but it just couldn't connect. So, I went to the store and bought a USB cable for printer. I connected my printer with this USB cable and installed drivers from the CD that came with printer. Everything went fine but when it came to the part where I can print test page I clicked 'Execute' and nothing happened. I gave up that and clicked next. When I tried to print a picture it says: 'Windows photo viewer encountered a problem printing your picture. Trying reinstalling your printer, and then try again.' When I tried printing a PDF document nothing happened.
So, my computer (Windows 7, 32 bit) recognizes this printer in Devices and Printers and it's set to deafult printer, but when i click 'Printing Preferences' it says 'Operation could not be completed' and when I click printer properites, it says: 'The Canon MG3500 series printer driver is not installed on this computer. Some printer properites will not be accessible unless you install the printer driver. Do you want to install the driver now?'. If I click Yes, the Add printer driver wizard shows up, but when i go through it and finish it it's still the same. Also, if I click 'Print test page', it says: 'Test page failed to print. Would you like to view the print troubleshooter for assistance? Access is denied.'
Then, if I go to troubleshooter it says that everything is fine. When I go to Canon Quick Menu and click 'Start my printer' it says 'the supported printer cannot be detected' but when I go to 'Diagnose and Repair Printer' it says that everything is okay.
I don't know what to do. I tried reinstalling driver thousands of times, I downloaded drivers from this site and everything, but it's all the same. Also, every time I turn on my printer on button I hear some weird noises two times about 5-10 seconds altogether. I don't know if this is related somehow, but I don't think that my device is broken because it can connect to pc and scanning works perfectly, but printing and copying doesn't.
Please help me, I'm desperate. I'm trying so hard but everything is the same and I'm so tired of this.

HP Photosmart B109n-z (printing problem) please help

Hi all,
I have the HP Photosmart B109n-z printer and have it set up wirelessly and it works fine I've had no problems with it.
The other day the black ink stopped working - the cartridge isn't empty but it's no longer prinking black on any documents. I have since put all new cartridges in, it recognises them all, including the black one, and if I'm printing something like a word document then it moves as if printing but the page comes out blank - no black ink is used.
I work for myself and work from home so need to get this resolved asap.
I've checked the cartidge - it's good.
I've checked the connection and print cartridge bay - they're clean.
Please help.
The colour is working fine.
The black ink issue is the same whether printing, scanning, or copying.
And I have tried turning everything off and on again!!!

I am having some serious wireless networking issues - please help!

I had a working wireless network setup in my home until the laptop was dropped and the hard drive needed to be replaced. The network consists of the laptop, desktop and wireless printer. I am now unable to get my wireless network up and running again. Is there anybody that can walk me through this. Right now I have the laptop hardwired to the cable modem so I am able to use the internet.
Please help!!!!!!

1. Go to Wireless. Set using Manual Config.
    Mode = Mixed
    SSID = Create your own SSID
    Channel = 9
    Broadcast = Enabled
2.Go to Wireless Security
    Security = WPA Personal
    Passphrase = Type your 8 character long password
3. Go to Security. Disable Block/Filter WAN Request
4. Check if you are still online wired.
5. Connect your laptop to the wireless network

well ive been having this problem for a while with my linksysE2000 for a while . it wont let my ps3 connected wireless and when it does it stays for a while then it disconnnect after 1 hours . sometimes my wife is strong and stay for a whole day and then othere sdays my wifi doesnt even want to work please help what should i do ?

So the main concern is only with the wireless connection? You might need to adjust some wireless settings in the router.

Ridiculous printing problem - please help!

Hello, I have Photoshop CS5 and an Artisan 800 printer, and I'm in the middle of the biggest printer nightmare I've ever had.
I need to print a DVD insert, printing to regular letter paper in landscape mode. 11x8.5. Landscape is selected. Letter is selected in the printer. So both Photoshop and the printer know they're dealing with the same size. But when I click print, I get the stupid 'Image is larger than paper's printable area, some clipping will occur' warning, which is weird, because the image size and the paper size are exactly the same.
Then things actually start getting weird. If I tell it to print anyway, it cuts the image off a few inches before the end of the righthand side of the page. If I tell it to scale to fit media, then print, it cuts the image off at the same spot, as if nothing was changed. My PPI is 300. I've checked and rechecked that the settings are the same on the printer and in photoshop.
Finally, I figured maybe it was somehow just my document causing the problem. So I open a new document, and tell it to print just a regular 8.5x11 letter. Didn't even put anything there. Just printing a blank page.
It says it's too big to fit on the paper!
I'm working on a fairly big job right now and need to print forty of these things by Monday. I'd really rather not have to go to Kinko's or something, as this is all out of my pocket. Plus I can't believe that with a program I spent this much money on, and a two hundred dollar printer, an 8.5x11 page is too big for me to print. Any help is greatly appreciated!

You have not provided enough information for others to help or clarify things for you..
What exact version of Photoshop are you on? 12.0.4? 12.1? Perhaps you have not applied any updates at all?
What exact version of the OS are you running?
What exact version of the printer driver?
What are the exact pixel dimensions of your image? (How many pixels wide by how many pixels high?)

I am trying to print a text using awt.print in a applet, but I have a problem
the printer doesn't have pages, but one big paper, it is a fiscal printer...
when I send the text to the printer, the printer not only print the text in the paper, but grabs more paper, the size of an A4 paper
I don't want it, i just need that the printer only prints the necessary and stops
because if not, it will loose the position to print the fiscal note again...
Please, help me with this...

Problem with printing invoice. please help

I am trying to print an invoice from transaction VF02 for a custom sapscript assigned. I went to:
Goto >> header >> output and gave all the printing settings there. But when I save (even though I checkmarked both 'print immediately' and 'send immediately upon saving'), it's not getting printed in the printer I assigned. It gives some status message as 'Document XXXXXX saved (pricing error)'. I also went to SP01 also to see if there are any spool requests but could not find any. Can you please help with this so that I able to print it?

Hi,
If the "Release after output" is checked then once printed it will get deleted from the Spool.
Also go to VF03 and in the outputs check the processing log if there is any error..

Losing my wireless connection? Please help!

I just installed an airport card (the original) into a G4 powerbook (gigabit ethernet model) and I am only periodically able to connect to the wireless signal at the local coffeeshop and at work. The signal goes in and out. I have been able to make a consistent connection on other macs at these sites so I know it isn't a problem with the signal. I am running OS 10.3 on the G4. Any ideas what my problem might be? Please help. Very frustrated. Thanks.

It sounds like your antenna connection to the airport card is loose. The connection should have been very firm with a noticeable click when the plug was inserted.
This issue has been brought up many times in this and other forums.
You also need to make sure that the antenna cord hasn't been pinched or damaged during the card's installation process.

More Wireless issues..please help

I have Infiniti2 and HH3. I used my 'old' draytek vigor 2710 as access for upstairs wireless. All well till few weeks ago. HH3 wireless is still strong, but I cannot connect to it? Strange. So, I changed various passwords and evem reset to original default as well as WPS to my ipad, laptop, iphone and galaxy all to no avail. Obviously the HH£ is broadcasting the signals well. Yet when I try the BT FON signal presumably from my own hub it connects?? There must be some protocol problem here. I am getting a bit cheesed off....I suppose a 'lazy' option would be to pruchase the alternate routers and such as te TP ;nk suggested? but what a waste of a new HH£??

You would need to navigate to the wireless settings on all wireless devices, look for any saved connection attempts and select 'forget network' or something similar.
