Wireless printing from main Mac not working

I've read through a few threads about wireless printing issues via the TC but I have a twist. My second Mac (Macbook 10.4.11) is able to print wirelessly through TC without a problem. I've selected the appropriate printer via System Preferences>>printers and selected "Share this printer".
My main Mac (MacBook Pro 10.5.3) which is being backed up on the TC, is not able to print wirelessly. I've also correctly selected the printer and clicked on "share this printer". The printer is an HP2410xi connected to the TC via USB.
The print jobs appear in the print queue and the printer status is "ready". When I select the stalled print job and select Resume I get the message "Opening printer connection" but nothing happens.
Thoughts?

If the printer worked on 10.5 when it was plugged directly into the macbook shouldn't the same driver also work when the printer is plugged into the time machine. I've unclicked printer sharing on both macs and it still doesn't work. I see that HP does not have an updated driver for 10.5 so I guess that I'll just plug the printer back into the macbook's USB. Grrrr.

Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
Then restart the device.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, then swipe the slider to power off.

If I can print to a wireless printer from my Mac, wouldn't it seem like I could print from my iPad mi I and iPhone 5?

I cannot print from my iPhone5 nor my iPad mini, to a wireless HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m. I can print from my Mac book pro. Is it my settings or the printer that is not set up correctly?

First check to see if its airprint enabled, it will be listed in the first article link. If not, then there are other options listed below.

Wireless printing from I Mac to Epson PX700

I am unable to print to my epson px700 wireless printer from my imac it comes up with an error message "broken pipe" or "communication error". Have installed, uninstalled and reinstalled software. I have tried deleting printer from my old laptop incase of any problems (no problem printing from that one). I am able to check ink levels and print test pages but nothing else. Please help me as this is so frustrating!!

Wireless printing with Airport Express not working

I set up my Airport Express. I have an HP photojet printer and I can print from my Mac Air but the other 3 windows-based laptops that are connecting to Airport Express can't. Anyone know why that is or how to fix it?

You did install and run Bonjour for Windows on each PC, correct?
Does Bonjour "see" the printer...and it won't install....or.....does Bonjour not "see" the printer at all?

Wireless printing from mixed Mac (10.6) and Windows 7 network

My wife's five-year-old iBook is on its last legs and her demands just don't justify dropping a grand on a Macbook, sadly. I'm looking at a $500 Wintel laptop running Windows 7 Home. Will she be able to print to the printers connected to the AX without upsetting my connection through a MBP?

Mac prints. PC does not. Bonjour Printer Wizard found the printer, so there's some communication between the two (although the printer never came on, but I assume the AX knows what it’s plugged into).
One odd thing is that, after installing the printer driver (downloaded from Brother), Bonjour Printer Wizard listed Brother as a printer manufacturer three times, only one of which shows the HL-2040.
The las time I tried printing from Windows the printer turned on, but did not print.

HP Laserjet 1010 & Wireless printing via Airport USB - Not working in SL

After just upgrading to Snow Leopard on my MacBook I tried printing wirelessly to my HP Printer, but no luck!
Printer: HP Laserjet 1010
Connected via: Airport with USB cable
Snow Leopard recognises the printer and is fine to print when the printer is connected directly to the MacBook via USB cable, but:
When I set up wireless printing, it finds the printer (via Bonjour) but simply will not print. The print monitor gets to 24% or so of the file processed and then just stops & fails.
Everything was fine under 10.5 Leopard. It seems it should work, but no printing occurs! Any ideas?

I had a similar-sounding problem with my HP1012.
The fix:
a. power-cycled the Airport Extreme.
b. Updated firmware.
c. Select Print in an application.

Actually, at this point I have two printers connected: Airport Extreme ->USB powered hub ->2 printers. One is the HP1012, the other is an HP 4300 series inkjet. Took sometime to get it right, the first hub I tried apparently was not powered enough. In that vein, one earlier thread (a response to one of my posts) pointed out the possibility that the AE -> printer USB connection might not be adequately powered, and to try using an intermediate hub. Assuming your AE is performing properly in all other respects, don't rule out a cable or other printer connection issue even if the setup was working properly before.

I can no longer wireless print from my mac using my Lexmark X4550 printer

I have read all the previous forums from like a year ago about the troubles that Leopard brought to Lexmark printers, some helped a lot, although I would really like to use my wireless capabilities. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling like 15 times and I decided to post a thread here to hopefully get this resolved. I get as far as installing the printer driver but then when I go to install the printer into my print&fax under system preferences it does not allow me to add the printer... It just does not show up under my printer options. Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED, Thank you.

I can print using USB cable but would really like to print wireless. I was able to print wireless before I installed Leopard and have tried talking to Lexmark but no help.

Airport Extreme Wireless Printing with Snow Leopard Not Working

I have two base stations in my home office: an Airport Express that's connected to the cable modem, and an older Airport Extreme (A1034) that's connected to my printer on the other side of the room. They were networked together so that I could go online or print wirelessly without a problem, until I upgraded to Snow Leopard. Now I can go online, and I can print directly from a USB cable to my HP printer, but I can't print wirelessly. The Extreme doesn't seem to show up at all in Airport Utility. Is there a way to get this to work again? Thanks.

Yes, I do have the latest drivers. I can print directly to the printer through USB. I don't seem to be able to access the Airport Extreme base station though.

Migration from PC-Mac not working

Any suggestions on how to transfer files from a Windows 7 PC (HP pavilion dv5) to my new Macbook Pro?. I downloaded Migration assistant on my PC and it starts transferring data then after about 20-30 minutes it just crashes on the PC saying 'migraton assistant stopped working' its happened 4 times now. Are there any other, faster ways to transfer everything from my PC to my Mac?

How are you connecting the two computers? If you're using an ethernet connection, the fastest and simplest way would be just to connect to your PC via your Mac in the Finder and copy/paste the files over. Another option would be to use an external harddrive if you have one by copying your files from your PC to the harddrive, then from the harddrive to your Mac. I've always preferred the ethernet connection, however, as it is the simplest.

Printing from PS CS3 not working

One of our scientists has a workstation running Windows XP (SP2) and Photoshop CS3 (10.0.1). Connected to this setup is a HP Laserjet 1200.
When he tries to print a simple greyscale image on the printer (which can only print b/w) the print-out shows a very coarse line screen which was not present before he got his new computer.
We have tried manually setting the line-screen to 150lpi in the print dialog box. The only result of this was that the print-out becomes very dark almost black. We also tried to switch to the postscript driver for the printer (he has been using PCL up until now) but this shows the same printout as PCL.
Any ideas what could be wrong?

Go into windows and set the default printer to something other then what you choose to print with in PS CS3. Then when ready to print choose the printer in PS CS3 print screen. This has fixed a lot of printing issues with Photoshop.
Edit: I would also consider updating Windows XP to SP3 as in the next few months Microsoft will no longer support XP SP2 with updates.

.mov file saved from other Mac not working on new Macbook

My old Macbook Pro started acting funny so I saved all my pictures and videos to USB drives. My new Macbook (OSX 10.5.8) with QuickTime (version 7.6.4) will not open the .mov files. Per another similar thread it was suggested to enable the "Show legacy encoders" under QuickTime Advanced Preferences, but it still won't work. QuickTime opens and plays the file but there is no sound or picture? Any suggestions?

Not sure what you mean here. Did you use the "Save As..." option to save the files as "Reference" movies to the USB drive? If so, they can't open because the "Standalone" reference file is not available on the mew system for playback.

Codecs: DV/DVCPRO - NTSC, DV, Tween, Integer (Big Endian)
What QT application are your referring to here? A "Tween" track is not usual for captured DV/AIFF content and would probably cause problems with an application like iMovie '08/'09 which don't like all possible MOV container track types.
That's unusual, there is no Format information available. Just 1)source, 2)data size, 3)data range, 4)current time, and 5)duration.
Sounds like corruption in the file, the QT embedded structure or the QT player. If the "small" files (like MPeG4/AAC) play okay, and only large ones (like DV/AIFF) have problems, then you may wish to check the USB drive format for file size limitations, data integrety, and/or other problems.

I'm trying to setup a Laserjet P1102w on my Mac for wireless printing, but it's not working. It will print fine using USB, but all the documentation for wireless setup is for Windows, not Mac. if I connect the printer via USB to my Mac, how will it get an IP address from my wireless network? Any help appreciated.

Please go to the linked thread above, and look for the post by mikel1004 - he outlined the steps for connecting Adhoc to the printer very clearly.
Summary of what you will need to to:
1. Reset Printer to Defaults
2. Connect to printer via Adhoc from your Mac (This will disconnect you from your home wireless network)
3. Access HTML Config, and configure the printer's wireless settings manually from there.
4. Reconnect the Mac to the Home Network
5. Add the printer to the print queue.

I don't get it, I read one post about why would we have to buy an AirPrint Printer when we have used the "print to a wifi printer" just fine in the past? Yes I feel that's exactly what's happening to me now too. I want to print from my iPhone and iPad to my WiFi Printer which is also now connected to my Airport Express WiFi network just fine. No problems.

I understand you have a Photosmart C6180 that you're having issues using in Mac 10.9. I'm sorry to hear this has been happening, but I will certainly do my best to assist you.
I'm wondering how you installed the printer. If you had it installed prior to upgrading to 10.9 that could be part of the problem. There are currently no HP drivers available for this printer for 10.9, so you need to uninstall the HP software and install the printer via the Apple updates. Once you do that you should be able to print normally and scan using 3 different methods.
