Wireless printing now fixed!

Thanks Apple,
Just update to 10.4.6 to establish Apple talk wireless printing!
  Mac OS X (10.4.5)

I have an ancient Apple Personal Laserwriter 320 and
an almost equally ancient Dayna.... latest update fixed the problem.
So it probably isn't the age of the equipment since I
I don't know if the problem was with the firmware in
the card or an extension but my current Wireless Card
Firmware Version found in the System Profiler is
0.1.17. You might want to check to make sure your
update worked correctly.
Hey... I hope Jim Bailey sees this post because I sure would like to know how you're getting your printer and Dayna to work. I have almost the identicle set up: LaserWriter Select 360f with the mini Dayna and I can't get ANY of my OS X Macs to see the printer... wireless OR wired!
I'm trouble shooting from one of my work horses, an upgraded B&W/G4 right now running OS X.4.6 and I can't for the life of me get it to see the LaserWriter. I've also tried an AsanteTalk device (localtalk -->ethernet) device and that came up NADA, too!
Since I'm trying to work via wired ethernet right now - I don't think the issue is with the firmware version of the card. HEY JIM - any ideas? How did you get yours to work???

Can someone explain how I go about setting up my iPad 2 to use a wireless printer as an airprinter - I had the thing working perfectly under Vista, however it all seems so much more reluctant under Windows 8 Pro.
I'm in the UK, but that doesn't make me a bad person ...

This is not really an appropriate question for this forum - it's for the specific Apple product called Apple Remote Desktop which is for managing networked Macs - but you forward the ports to the iMac's internal IP address, the one assigned to it via the Airport (setting a static IP address usually is better, though, since it won't change when you restart the Mac). This may be of help:

  • Changed Router - Can't Setup Wireless printing

I recently changed my internet router. i did have my printer setup with wireless printing, now i cant connect to the new router.

Hi , Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I see you have recently replaced your Router and now you are unable to print wirelessly to your HP Deskjet 3052A from your Mac running the Mavericks 10.9 Operating system. I would like you to go ahead and start here: Wireless Printer Setup (OS X) Because you have a new Router, you will need to connect the Printer to your new wireless network. I hope this helps, let me know the outcome. Thanks,

  • Has anyone fixed wireless printing to HP LaserJet 1015 via AEBS Snow

    Dear All
I've searched the forums, read numerous posts by HP Mac Architect (thanks BTW for your amazing efforts), tried various things, and still can't get wireless printing back on my HP LaserJet 1015.
    My set up is:
Intel Core Duo 20" iMac, 10.6.1, running latest version 2.2 HP drivers (383Mb download)
Airport Extreme Base Station Snow, running firmware 5.7
HP LaserJet 1015 connected to the USB port of AEBS
Worked in 10.5.8. Absolutely nothing in 10.6.1 - not an initial page, nothing after resets or restarts, nothing. It has also scuppered wireless printing to the 1015 from another iMac on the network running Leopard 10.5.8.
    I have tried the following:
    1) Usual stuff - restart AEBS, restart computer, switch off printer, unplug AEBS 30 seconds, reconnect printer
    2) Deleting all HP stuff from Library/Printers, Library/Printers/PPDS/Contents/Resources, System/Library/Extensions, restarting, reinstalling HP drivers version 2.2, re-adding printer
    3) Add the printer via Bonjour, using plain driver, Gutenprint driver
    4) Add the printer via IP printing, HP JetDirect - Socket, using address of base station +/- the port, using either plain driver or Gutenprint driver
    5) Tried the ipstat stuff in the terminal to get CUPS to accept the URI
    6) Tried downgrading firmware of AEBS to 5.6 then 30s off, then back to 5.7, 30s off, then re-add the printer
    The error messages I get:
    Initially 'communication failure'
Then 'client-error-not-possible' from the other iMac
Now mainly 'unable to open device (read failure)'
I have yet to try the HPIJS drivers but before I do so has anyone else had any success or tried any other things I've not mentioned?
Do I need to wait till 10.6.2 or buy a new N base station or buy a new printer or what?
    Thanks in advance

    mwong,
At the moment, there is no way I know of to get the LaserJet 1015 printing through the USB port any Airport base station that isn't running a firmware version of 7.4.2 (ie an 802.11N compatible Airport). Some people have had some luck on newer G's running 6.3, but I haven't seen anyone report success with 5.7 yet. At the moment, there is nothing we can do from our end to fix the issue.
    Just trying to help.

  • Officejet 6500 e709n - slow wireless print & garbage then Bonjour works perfect - fix please!

Hello all!  My wife recently purchased a Officejet 6500 e709n so we could finally have a wifeless printer in the house. Well, we set it up fine but we quickly ran into some printing issues. It seems that when we try to wirelessly print any file larger than 300k, the data transfer hangs and causes a long wait time until the printing finishes (if it finishes). Also this causes garbled printing.
Try as I might I could not find a fix anywhere. I tried reinstalling / updating / resetting my firewall and anti-virus and nothing.
Tonight I installed Bonjour and OMG it works - no issues at all. This leads me to think that the issue is in the HP driver or settings or something. Now my question is, how do I get the regular driver to work?!
She runs a Gateway Netbook (windows 7 Starter) and I run an Dell Studio 1747 (windows 7 home premium 64)
Install went clean on both machines

This may be a router issue.  What brand/model router?

  • Updated on 12/20 now can not print on HP5520 wireless printer need help!

Since doing update on 12/20/13 I can no longer print from firefox on my wireless HP 5220 printer. Please advise how to correct or can I revert to the older version of firefox that did print on wireless printer. Worked great before update. Now not at all happy.

Do you get an error message, or is the printer missing from the dialog, or just nothing comes out??
To see whether the problem is in Firefox's settings, could you check this article if you didn't already try it: [[Fix printing problems in Firefox]].
To see whether the problem is that an HP add-on got disabled, you could check your Add-ons page. Either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. The disabled ones cluster toward the bottom. Anything HP or printing related down there?

  • My iPad shows a message "Cannot find AirPrint printer". I used to use my iPad to print materials using HP wireless printer D110. Now it does not want to print. Is this because I am now using IOS 7? What should I do to solve the problem? Help please.

Restart your WiFi router and printer by removing power for 30 seconds.

  • Just set up a new router, now I can't print to my wireless printer!

Hi, so I'm really frustrated with this situation since I installed OS X Mountain Lion. I have a Samsung SCX-4623FW wireless printer, connected it to our wifi network (router: D-Link N 300 DIR-632). So it's all good, the wireless light is on so I know it's connected. I even printed out a configuration report to find out the IP address. Now my problem is, when I try to add a printer to my MacBook Pro (13" Inch, Late 2011) using the IP address and the following information:
Protocol: Line Printer Daemon - LPD
Use: Samsung SCX-4623FW Series (from Select Print Software...)
It says: Unable to verify the printer on your network.
Unable to connect to '[printer ip address]' due to an error. Would you still like to create the printer?
And I hit continue in case the error doesn't affect the wireless installation of the printer, I tried to test print a page on the internet and the status message of the printer says: The printer is not responding.
So I reboot the computer, unplugged and reconnected the router AND modem and still nothing. I reset the settings on the printer, new IP address and everything. Still nothing. I can print via USB but I prefer wireless printing because there are 2 desktops, 2 laptops and multiple devices in the house and it's just not convenient.
Can anybody please help? I'm all out of ideas. Many thanks in advance.

Can any Macs in your home see the printer?
That is to say, is it just Mountain Lion that is having the problem?
What I'm wondering is if this is a router problem, or a Mountain Lion problem?  I'm trying eliminate as many variables as possible.
Do you happen to know if the Samsung printer supports Bonjour (eg. Zeroconf) network discovery protocols?  You could download "Bonjour Browser"
    <http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/13388/bonjour-browser>
to see if the Mac can see your printer via Bonjour protocols.
Since you know the IP address of your printer, you could download "WakeOnLan" which will display every IP address is sees on your network, and check to see if it is in the list generated by WakeOnLan (NOTE: I do not want to wake anything up, but WakeOnLan does a really good job of finding and displaying every IP address is sees on the local network).

  • My iPad was printing to my HP wireless printer and now it won't..any suggestions on what I might try to get it back?

I was able to print from my iPad to my wireless HP printer and now I can't.  Any suggestions on what to do to get it back?  Will resetting network settings help?

Are you getting any error messages - or is it just saying No Printers Found - if the latter this has happened to me - I have 2 networks on my airport express (my network and one for guest access0 - sometimes my iPad switches to the guest network which does not have wireless printer on it ( i dont know why it does this) - if i switch the iPad back to my network the printer shows up again
In fact see the No Printers Found message is a pretty good indication that the iPad has switched to the guest network

  • Windows 7 64 bit, CP1525NW wireless install, laptop sleep mode, now no wireless printing

I installed my HP CP1525 wireless printer  through  my Windows 7 64 bit computer to run wirelessly on my home network and it seemed to print fine wirelessly for mine and my wife's laptops and my iPad2. I put my computer into sleep mode and now today the wireless printer connection through my computer to the printer cant be found

Yup, with printer sharing, the PC cannot be asleep if the printer is attached to the PC via USB.
Since this is a network (wireless) printer, why not attach the printer to your wireles network direclty?  Am I understanding the setup correctly?

Up photos mart c7100 series wireless printer does not show up as a printer. Anyone found a fix for for use with ipad3?

It sounds like the features are working through the USB connection rather than the wireless connection since it is still not seeing the networks.
Everything points to a hardware failure since the steps provided through the private message did not work and the wireless test showed it had failed.  Sorry.
You do have some options at this point.
If it is under warranty, either standard or extended, you can contact HP support at 1-800-474-6836 to have it serviced under warranty.
If it is out of warranty, you can still contact HP support to find out all the options and the cost of each option.  However, it is my opinion that this money would be better spend being applied towards a new printer.

  • Changed wireless providers, now Wireless Printer is off the network

I recently switched wirless providers and the printer dropped off the network. I don't see a way through the printer itself to establish a new connection, and I can't connect it to my mackbook air through a USB and have any luck either. I reinstalled the disc and as soon as I select the option for a wireless printer in the setup, an "unexpected error" quits the process and I'm back to square one. How do I get the printer back on my new network? Thanks!

I appreciate the reply and understand needing every bit of information possible to increase the likelihood of a detailed answer. Going through everything I need to provide, however, will take me some time to find all the answers.
Is there just a short and simple way to reconnect a wireless printer to a new network? If it doesn't work, I understand it was a simple attempt and I'll get all the additional information like the kind of network, etc., but don't know all of that right now. It would seem reasonable that HP had a way to reconnect a wireless printer if you got a new network (or switched providers, etc.).
    Thanks in advance!

  • I have an HP 3050A wireless printer that was working fine and now all of a sudden it doesn't print.

My HP 3050A wireless printer has stopped printing. I have restarted both my computer and the printer and it still didn't work. I deleted the printer from my printer list and then restarted everything again and now it doesn't even find the printer. What am I doing wrong? My computer is a new Mac. Thanks for your help.

    Hi,
Can you see the wireless light on the printer as Solid blue or is the lighe blinking?
If the light blinks, it means that the printer has disconnected from the network.
In order to reconfigure it - temporary connect the printer with USB, launch the HP Setup Assistsant (Located under Applications > Hewlett-Packard > Device Utilities) and follow the steps to reconfigure the wireless connection.

  • Reset printing system, now I can't connect to the wireless printer

I have an HP wireless printer that worked perfectly on the wireless network from this computer half an hour ago. the second print job could not connect to the printer, so I reset the printing system (stupidly). Now when I go to "add a printer" in the print and scan menu, nothing pops up. My computer and printer are both connected to the same wireless network.

The protocol that advertises the printer on the network is called Bonjour. There are currently users who have upgraded to Yosemite that can no longer see the printer, but I've not read about Mavericks users having the same issue.
One test is to enable the Bonjour browser in Safari. This will then let you test if the Mac can see the HP. To do so, open Safari > Preferences and select the Advanced tab. You will see an entry called Bonjour. Select to show Bonjour in your Bookmarks menu. Then close the Preferences pane and select the Bonjour entry in the Bookmarks menu. Do you see the HP? If no, then using the control panel on the HP, print a network configuration list to determine what IP address the printer is using. Once you have this address, enter this as the URL in Safari. This should result in you connecting to the internal web page of the HP. Does this work?
