Wireless Printing now works!

With today's 10.4.6 update, my MacBookPro can now see Appletalk printers on the wireless network.

I have an ancient Apple Personal Laserwriter 320 and
an almost equally ancient Dayna.... latest update fixed the problem.
So it probably isn't the age of the equipment since I
I don't know if the problem was with the firmware in
the card or an extension but my current Wireless Card
Firmware Version found in the System Profiler is
0.1.17. You might want to check to make sure your
update worked correctly.
Hey... I hope Jim Bailey sees this post because I sure would like to know how you're getting your printer and Dayna to work. I have almost the identicle set up: LaserWriter Select 360f with the mini Dayna and I can't get ANY of my OS X Macs to see the printer... wireless OR wired!
I'm trouble shooting from one of my work horses, an upgraded B&W/G4 right now running OS X.4.6 and I can't for the life of me get it to see the LaserWriter. I've also tried an AsanteTalk device (localtalk -->ethernet) device and that came up NADA, too!
Since I'm trying to work via wired ethernet right now - I don't think the issue is with the firmware version of the card. HEY JIM - any ideas? How did you get yours to work???

A wireless printer connects to the network just like your computer, or iPhone/iPad, etc. connects using wireless.
The printer must be set up intially to scan to "find" available wireless networks, then your specific wireless network needs to be selected. Then the password for the network needs to be entered.
Once the printer is configured to join the network, it is always connected to the network. No further configuration is required.

  • Can I get my HP F4500 wireless printer to work with my Ipad?

Can I get my HP F4500 Wireless Printer to work with my Ipad....It is an IOS 4.3.2

    Philip-
I don't see a 4500 HP printer on the list of AirPrint printers, so you will most likely need an alternate way to print to it.
One way is to use an iPad App such as Print n Share.  It has its own browser, mail, photo and text programs that can print to some non-AirPrint printers.  I don't know if it can print from within other iPad Apps.
Another way is to use a computer to share the printer as AirPrint over WiFi, using a program like Printopia for the Macintosh.  For a free solution, search the web for AirPrint Activator.
I recommend you try the free iPad App, HP iPrint Photo.

  • How do i set up my wireless printer to work with my ipad 2

My ipad will not reconize my lexmark wireless printer what can I do

In UK BT generally use PPPoA authentication only so you will have to keep using the home hub as the main router. Put the Time Capsule.. TC.. in bridge mode. To do this go to the airport utility, on menu selection go to internet, and make sure it is set to ethernet for method of connection, and in connection sharing, select bridge. Then select update.. it will probably list some issues like password needing changing and access via wan etc .. almost all of which you can simply ignore.. as you are not using it in router mode.
The TC will save the setting and restart.. it will now exist as a wireless access point and switch on the network. The WAN is swapped to LAN, so there is no WAN port as such but it is still convenient to use WAN port marked <...> ethernet between home hub and the TC. Then setup wireless as you like. You can turn off the wireless in home hub, and just use the TC.. or use both, on different channels. That is no big problem. Set the security for the wireless is important and I would also manually set wireless channels and use different name for the 2.4ghz and 5ghz wireless. But just start and learn what you need to as you go along. Getting the basics working should be fairly easy. Some of the more complex stuff you just need to read carefully the instructions..

  • Wireless printer not working after 10.5 upgrade

My Canon All-in one MP600 was working fine using 10.4.11 and Airport Extreme Base Station. I upgraded to 10.5.4 and now the printer does not work. I checked the Airport utility and the printer shows under printer. The printer works fine on my wife's MacBook. The old printer setup utility app is not present on 10.5. Am I missing something? I followed the instructions to install the wireless printer but it still does not work. It works fine when I use the USB cable directly to my powerbook G4.

Found problem. Removed printer from Sys Prefs -> Printers and Fax and re-installed it. Works now.

  • Apple airport express wireless printing not working on Windows

I have installed the Airport Utility v 5.5.3 and Bonjour Printer Wizard on my Windows XP (SP3) machine. I have successfully set up the router, but am unable to print wirelessly. In the utility, I see my printer and have selected the checkbox Share printers over WAN. I have the driver printers installed on a Windows laptop, but am unsuccessful printing from the laptop.
I read somewhere that I need to set the Internet > Connection Sharing to Off (Bridge Mode). I did that and then got the following error and then can't connect to the internet via the router at all:
An error occurred while trying to access the Apple wireless device. Make sure your network connection is valid and try again. Error -6753.
I have tried setting up Bridge Mode several times and ensured my virus protection and firewall were disabled, but always the same results, so I reset my router and am back to using the Internet > Connection Sharing option of Share a public IP address.
The whole reason I bought this router is because it is supposed to be easy for wireless printing, but this has been far from easy to set up. So frustrating. Any suggestions?

Thank you for your quick response. Yes, I have Bonjour Print Services installed. I thought I had to select Share printers over WAN for some reason. Just now I deselected this setting, updated the utility and wireless printing still does not work .

  • Can't get Wireless Printer to work on Leopard

My wife bought an HP C4580 Wireless Printer the other day and within minutes I got it working on all the computers, Windows and Mac, in the house BUT, I have now installed Leopard on my MacBook Pro and then installed the Drivers for the Printer and now the Printer won't work, I get an Client Auth Error or something when I try to use it, any ideas?

There is a driver update, and, more importantly, a firmware update for this MFD at the HP site. <http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=219&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang =en&product=3418707>. I'd download and install the drivers and download and set up the firmware update and see if the problem goes away.

  • HP2710 Wireless printing wont work

How in the world do you set the printer up for wireless printing?

Well the first thing to do is read the instruction manual which came with the printer which explains the step by step procedure to get you up and running and loading the CD.
After that you can try here.

  • Wireless printing not working properly on HP officejet 4500

    Hi,
I have recently bought the OfficeJet 4500 wireless printer.
Now I have a problem when printing a document from wireless connection. When I send a document to be printed from wireless network, it does not transfer completely, and the document can’t be printed completely.  This accurse when sending small files (128 KB) and a bit larger (1,14 MB) files.
When printing the same document when connected to the printer with the usb cable, the document will print correctly.
I have followed the steps of wizard for wireless set up, and when I printed the confirmation page, all was set correctly.
The router I’m using is a Linksys WRT45GL. The IPs are set by dhcp and I don’t have a MAC filter active.
Can you help me with my problem?

Does anybody have an idea where to start looking at least? Where could be the problem?

  • Epson NX420 wireless printing not working

After upgrading to Yosemite, I noticed the printing capability on my NX420 was gone. I get communication errors and a prompt to download software; but after downing, a notice for error downloading. No updates show up via App store.
I have downloaded the software via Epson and installed; but it still doesn't work. My son's i5 iMac running Yosemite is printing fine wirelessly.

Hi @AllysonR , and welcome to the HP Forums!
I see you're experiencing connectivity issues.  I would like to help!
I'd recommend performing a power reset.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I'd then suggest following this document:

Hi...I have an HP G72 laptop running windows7 64 bit and an HP deskjet4500 all in one printer with with a Belkin wireless G home network . The wireless printing has been working fine for months and it STILL works from a different laptop. • Which epson wireless printer will work with airport extreme (can not find out from epson)

three systems in use Win 7, Mac lion and vista.  Former epson printer WF 600 would not link with my new airport extreme router despite multiple attempts through epson.  Does anyone know of a wireless printer that will work?  Thanks.

I had the same problem. It was fixed by running the silly app downloadable from their support page: http://support.lexmark.com/perl/support/support.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:0:0:0
    Here's another way, through CUPS:
    1) http://127.0.0.1:631/
    2) Administration tab
    3) Add Printer
    4) Give Name, Location, and Description (pretty inconsequential)
    5) Select device: Internet Printing Protocol (http)
    6) Device URL: lexnet3://192.168.5.110:1 (the parts in bold must be there, the ip add is probably different)
    7) Make: Lexmark
    8) Model: 3600-4600 series (if this isn't there, you need to get the driver from Lexmark)
    That should do it.
The printer will be in your system preferences.
The port number and the "lexnet3://" is the interesting part. Without them, I don't think you'll be able to get it working.
    Good luck

  • What wireless printer will work with ipad2?

I am looking for a wireless printer that will work with ipad2?

Those that will work without any additional apps (the printer and iPad juset need to be on the same wifi network) are listed on this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356 - i.e. they are AirPrint enabled
Some printer manufacturers also have their own apps in the store which add support to more models, and there are also third-party printer apps in the store (but an AirPrint enabled printer would probably be better as you don't need additional apps for them).
