Wireless printing on Lexmark X9350

I have just got my new macbook white running Leopard and i cant get my lexmark x9350 printer to connect wirelessly. it worked fine on my old vista laptop. when i put the installer disk with the driver on it, it goes through the whole setup wizard but at the end when finished, a window pops up saying that the printer has not been installed. this happens every time when repeated.
Can any one help?

Have you tried to download the driver from Lexmark's website?
Possibly a newer version than what is on the disk..

  • Lexmark 6570 Wireless printing. Can't add printer

    Hello,
I have set up a 6570 Wireless printer following Lexmark instructions and installing the soft on the Mac and doing the USB configuration. All good and the printer can connect to the AP and is pingable.
However, the printer is not defined in the Printers System Preferences. If I add it as a remote printer, using eithter lpd, ipp or hp direct, it says OK and defines the printer. However, it is not really defined, as when opening the printer settings and trying to print a test page, the name of the printer does not show up in the window header, it shows the printer icon in black, with a red cross on it and sending the test page results in nothing.
I am not sure how to proceed. I have rerun printer wireless setup, tried to see if it was blocked by the firewall, tried to use "Other printers" instead of the IP printing, but all to no avail.
Anyone knows how to do this ?

I returned my sparkling new Lexmark wireless printer to the store as I discovered that Leopard was not supported, even though Tiger was. I spent a number of frustrating evenings trying to get it working, only to find out from Lexmark Tech Support that I stood no chance. They suggested waiting for a few months for the driver - I didn't. As soon as I heard the news I replaced it with regular, wired printer. It was not a Lexmark one!

  • Wireless printing - network host is busy/unreachable?

    Hi everyone,
We installed a wireless (Lexmark X9350) network printer on our Airport network (behind ADSL + router with DHCP functions enabled).
The printer software installation finished successfully but gave a warning that the printer had not been added to the printer list and could/should be added manually. After having done this, wireless printing to the X9350 doesn't seem to be working: error: Network host is busy, unreachable, .... The same occurs on 10.4 (Tiger) and 10.3.
However, wireless printing from 2 PCs (WindowsXP) on the same wireless network works ok. Printing test page with USB cable attached to the Mac seems to be working as well. Any tips how we can get this wireless printing working for the Macs?
    Thanks,
    Guy

I meant specifically, after clicking ADD and then clicking More Printers, is there a Lexmark proprietary protocol choice that you used - something like "Lexmark network inkjet?" That will be the only way to add the printer - not IP printing.

  • Wireless Problem Lexmark x9350

This is my second post and yet again i have a problem with my wireless printer. Although my last post was about Samsung clx-2160 ( it has blown up now ) we are using a lexmark x9350. The printer is connected to my desktop via usb. I also have a modem/router.
For some reason after several attempts i was able to print wirelessly, but for some reason i cant anymore. This is the msg that i get promted, " There is a problem communicating with the printer.Make sure the printer is powered on and connected to the computer. Delete or hold the job and try again. The printer is busy. Try printing again after the current operation has finished."
Please someone help with a walkthrough steps. As i need my laptop for work and i have several documents that i need to print.
Really appreciated the help i got last time, hoping that i can have the same assistance.

    Solved - maybe.
Apple updated my Lexmark printer driver in early February, 2011, and broke my printer (again...). My x9350 had been working well for the last 6 months or so (since their prior printer driver update, in (?) August 2010, except for occasionally refusing to "wake up" to be available on my wireless network after long periods (several days) of non-use. I would turn the printer off and on to fix that problem.
After the Feb 2011 update, my printer and MacBook Pro (w/ OSX 10.6.6) would not communicate, according to the messages in my printer queue. The message from the queue was "Unable to read CUPS raster data". Despite the message, I was able to log in to the printer directly over my network, and my router's browser-based configuration software showed apparently correct settings. Thus, the problem was with the printer driver in OSX, and not a network problem. The symptoms are exactly the same as what was happening prior to the Summer 2011 update.
Based on web research and a lucky guess, I used the CUPS configuration tool to revert back to the prior driver version and fixed the problem. Here's how:
From your browser, open the CUPS page at http://localhost:631/
    Click the "Printers" tab
Find the entry for 9300_Series<MAC address> and click it
Click the "Administration" drop down box and click "Modify Printer"
Wait a few seconds for the network to be searched
Click the radio button under "Other Network Printers" for "LPD/LPR Host or Printer"
    Click the "Continue" button
In the text box which appears, replace the entry "lpd" with "lexnet3://your printer's IP address:1"
Click "Continue" and ensure the next page shows the address you just entered in the "Connection" entry
    Click the "Continue" button
On the next page, the "Model" box shows several printer drivers; at this point I just guessed and picked the driver 2nd on the list (immediately below the highlighted driver), and then clicked the "Modify Printer" button.
You can confirm the driver was changed by opening the printer queue via Apple Menu->System Preferences->Open Print Queue->Printer Setup; under the "Driver" tab, you will not see an entry for "double Sided ink drying time" (or something like that) if you have reverted back to the old driver (pre-Feb 2011).
It worked for me - YMMV.

  • Can I airprint to a Lexmark X9575 wireless printer

Can I airprint to a Lexmark X9575 wireless printer, anyoneeeeeeeeeeeeeee?

Do a web search for AirPrint Activator, and you should find useful results for both Mac and Windows computers.
You might also contact Lexmark and ask if they have a solution.  Some other-brand printers claim iPad/iPhone compatibility, but the fine print says you have to use their program.
Otherwise, you may be able to use an iPad App like Print n Share.

  • Airport express - Lexmark wireless printing

I have used AE for wireless printing with a Lexmark printer ( X1195) with no trouble. AE recognized printer and added software for it immediately. Recently I've gotten a new Lexmark printer, model X2580, and since this is similar to the previous printer I thought it should work. However AE does not recognize this printer is attached via the USB port. In the past I've tried to set up an HP printer which was not successful but even then the AE recognized the printer was attached via USB port.
AE appears to be working fine and has been reset. Printer works via direct USB connection to the iMac.
    Any suggestions

I'm not sure if that link will work. If you go www.hp.com and click on support and troubleshooting link, indicate your product, click on solve problem, click on error, lights. Click on messages displayed on your computer, click on Macintosh errors. You should see the -9762 error message listed. Click on that and follow the instructions.
I literally had my printer working in two minutes.
    Good luck,

  • Lexmark x4850 Wireless Printing isn't working...

    Hello,
I have a client with a new Macbook pro and a Lexmark x4850 wireless printer. I found this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=8299637
I tried the things people had suggested and can't seem to get anything working. They are using WEP lowest encryption because someone had mentioned that had worked for them. USB works fine but they want to print wirelessly. Lexmark support doesn't mention anything on this issue. I discovered that the "driver" for the Mac also includes the utilities to setup certain things including wireless printing. I tried the software and still, no good.
If anyone can help I would appreciate it.
    Thanks,
    Dru

  • Lexmark Wireless Printing - Mac OS 10.6 Driver

I have a Lexmark 2420 Wireless printer that I have been using w/Windoze. Just bought a MacNotebook Pro and upgraded to 10.6. Added my printer but the 10.6 driver failed. Installed the Mac version from my Lexmark CD and replaced the driver w/ 10.5 and still no luck. Contacted Lexmark Support and set up chat and was informed of new driver. Unfortunately I no longer have that on my clipboard but you can get it from Lexmark Support. The good news is it works!
Lexmark has a new driver for 10.6. Go to their support and chat.

  • Wireless printing lexmark s405

I have purchased a lexmark s405. It is setup and installed. It will scan over the wireless network but will only print via USB. This kind of defeats the reason for changing my printer. Anyway while attempting to print over wireless everything comes up as normal (print utility box) but it then fails to print. Printer unavaliable etc.... Any help would be much appreciated. I have already spent hours on this which is not supprising as it seems a common fault on the web searches and no solution. Regards

    Hi
I know exactly how you feel. It has taken me many days to finally resolve my wireless printing problems. although I do not have the same lexmark printer as you have mine being the x7675 (which I know many people have had with this model which I have now finally resolved for my self) as you have been able to install your printer I can see that you have come up against a problem I had at my final hurdle.
All installed yet when I first tried to print nothing happened. solution is to check whether your printer is on PAUSE which it sounds to me that it is. Go into printing que and firstly delete the whole que which I suspect that you have acquired then select one item to print and press the pause button which should then print.
I have also found that whilst my Internet is extremely fast printing suffers rather a lot of lag mine takes up to 30 seconds to print once I have selected print. So be patient before selecting print again. Although we have different models of lexmark I am pretty sure from what you are saying is that the printer is on pause (as I had exactly the same problem) and once you click on the pause all will be ok.
Let me know if it doesnt work

  • HT4356 I have a Lexmark pro901 wireless printer, how do I get my iPad to print to it?

I have a Lexmark pro901 wireless printer, how do I get my iPad to print to it?  How do I know if I have an iPad or ipad2?

If you have a camera - you have the iPad 2.
Lexmark makes a printing app, but as far as I can remember, you can only print photos with it - however, that may have changed by now.
Look at apps like Print Central, Print Bureau and Print and Share for WiFi printing. You can also download apps like Printopia (Mac) and Print Magic (Windows) that let you use your computer as the print server for iPad printing.

  • Remote laptop won't print to new HP4622 wireless printer

My new HP 4622 won't print from wife's laptop (Compaq Presario CQ-60-224NR w/ Windows Vista) in another part of the house on my home Centurylink DSL network with very good connectivity.  I have the printer installed at my desktop (Gateway Microsoft XP SP3) and it prints fine from the desktop.  Does the printer software also need to be installed on the laptop?  I sent a .jpg file to the printer from the laptop and it printed one line of unicode? code per page until I cancelled the job from the print queue. I have gone thru the installation guide a couple of times and nothing is fixed.  Test results say that everything passed and install is successful.  I downloaded and tried the print doctor wizard and it says no problems found.  I have McAfee total protection running, could there be a firewall problem?  I'm not sure about enabling ports or that sort of thing.  I dumped a perfectly good Lexmark X7170 all-in-one because it wasn't wireless and we couldn't get it configured to print peer-to-peer.  Now I have a new wireless printer and con't get to print remotely either.  Hope you can help.  Let me know if you need more info.  Thanks.

    Hi Ken,
I would recommend giving the printer a static IP address for the wireless connection (not USB):
    - Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
    - Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
    - Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
    - On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') to 250
    - Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
    - Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway.
    - Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS. This is Google DNS. You can choose another external DNS if you wish.
    - Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
After this you will have delete and re-add the printer on your computer. Do it this way:
    0. Go to Start > Control Panel > Devices & Printers and delete all instances of the printer.
    1. Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to your network. Verify that you can access the printer's internal web page by browsing to its IP address before continuing. Get its IP from a Network Test printed from the front panel of the printer.
    2. Click >> Start >> Control panel >> Devices & Printers.
    3. Click the Add a printer
    4. Select Local printer
    5. Select Create a new port and select Standard TCP/IP Port and click Next button.
    6. Under Device type, select TCP/IP Device. Under Hostname or IP address, enter the printer's IP address. Click Next.
    7. Select Hewlett-Packard from the list of manufacturers and select and select your printer model. Click Next.
If your printer model was not listed, then select Have Disk, browse the HP CD that came with your printer and select the first file that starts with hp and ends with inf. Click Open then OK. Select your printer model. Click Next.
    8. If you are asked, use the currently installed driver.
    9. It will ask for the Printer name -- enter a new name or use the existing one. This will be the name of the printer that you select from other applications.
    10. You may be asked to share the printer. Choose NO.
    11. The Print Test Page box appears. Go ahead and print it.
    12. Click Finish.
If you're still experiencing issues try changing the channel on your router to 11 and the encyption to WPA.
Say "Thanks" by clicking the blue Kudos star in the post that helped you.

  • How do i set up my wireless printer to work with my ipad 2

My ipad will not reconize my lexmark wireless printer what can I do

In UK BT generally use PPPoA authentication only so you will have to keep using the home hub as the main router. Put the Time Capsule.. TC.. in bridge mode. To do this go to the airport utility, on menu selection go to internet, and make sure it is set to ethernet for method of connection, and in connection sharing, select bridge. Then select update.. it will probably list some issues like password needing changing and access via wan etc .. almost all of which you can simply ignore.. as you are not using it in router mode.
The TC will save the setting and restart.. it will now exist as a wireless access point and switch on the network. The WAN is swapped to LAN, so there is no WAN port as such but it is still convenient to use WAN port marked <...> ethernet between home hub and the TC. Then setup wireless as you like. You can turn off the wireless in home hub, and just use the TC.. or use both, on different channels. That is no big problem. Set the security for the wireless is important and I would also manually set wireless channels and use different name for the 2.4ghz and 5ghz wireless. But just start and learn what you need to as you go along. Getting the basics working should be fairly easy. Some of the more complex stuff you just need to read carefully the instructions..
    And read this site.
Carefully and until your eyes bleed. Almost everything you want to know is there already.
