Wireless printing to HP CM1017 very slow

Hi, I need some help please.
Printers: HP Color Laserjet CM1017 and HP 5100 connected to Win 7 (32Bit)Server via USB.
Problem: When printing pdf docs directly form the server, the "progress" (Adobe preparing the docs to print) is quick(seconds) but, when printing from any workstation(connection by WiFi to the server) it takes a very long time (about 5 mins)to "prepare" print. When printing from any workstation to the HP 5100, the "progress" speed is good(seconds).
The same docs print "progress" is fast(seconds) to another printer (HP C6183), not connected to the server but, direct wireless.
So, to sum up.
1. the document is not the problem(does same with other docs)
2. the Adobe Reader is not the problem(tried different versions)
3. the workstation is not the problem, as it does the same on all with different Adobe versions and O/S's.
4. the "progress"(preparation for printing) is fast when printing from server connected directly via USB
5. printing to the HP5100 from a workstation, uses the same route(WiFi to Server, Server via USB to Printer) and the "progress" is fast.
Question: Why is the print "progress" so slow when using the same route, but to another printer on the same server?

Hi Bluechip123,
try to check your printing preferences. if Quality of print is set as 'BEST', printer becomes too slow when printing documents.

  • Color printing with new Pixma very slow

(this was also posted on the general Airport Extreme forum, but I realized later that it's more pertinent to this one)
I recently replaced a Canon Pixma iP4300 printer with an iP4700. It works fine when it's connected directly to my iMac, but when I connect it to my Airport Extreme (to share it with other computers in the house), the color printing is extremely slow. Regular document printing is fine, but a color graphic or photograph takes a very long time. This never happened with my iP4300.
I've tried all the suggestions in the Printer Troubleshooting file and all my drivers and software are the latest versions.
Any other things I should try?

    Hello Andy, Thank you!
    - The computer is a New MacBook Pro with 4GB of RAM.
    - Many times, I try with new libraries, even I try Format to zeros, and when import new pictures, the problem appears again.
    - All the pictures are imported to the main HD.
    - Is a regular spinning type.
    - I had try every option, even change the computer for a new one.
    - Yes, the OS en every case was updated to latest version.
    - No problem by the questions, I apreciate your help.
    Best regards!
    Ps.
In some users chats, the people says that is a bug of the last version of Aperture, but not in all cases appears.

  • HP laserjet m1536dnf mfp print and scan is very slow

    Hi Sir/Madam,
HP laserjet m1536dnf mfp print and scan is printing and scanning slow on network. Sometimes scan is not work. That's why I have to reinstall the printer driver. So how to increase print speed?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi riz1_4444,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I understand the printer is printing and scanning slow on the network.
I will be happy to help you.
Make sure printer is connected directly to a wall outlet.
Try printing a hardware test on the printer to see if it prints slow or not.
Printing a Configuration Report. Select Method one: Print a Configuration Report from the printer control panel.
I would restart the router to see if this will resolve the issue.
    Try another Ethernet cable.
If you are still having issue then test the printer by connecting the printer to the computer by a USB cable to see if it is something on the network that is causing it to slow down.
Hope this resolves your issue for printing slow over the network.
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

  • New Wireless MAC keyboard & mighty mouse very slow in retrieving information & sending

    Good evening,
I just purchased these items last night from the Apple store, they are both installed on my bluetooth. I do have OS Lion.
Whenever I want to go to another site for example this site it spins and spins and takes approx 1 min which feels like 5mins.
My other wireless key board and mouse was logictech for Mac I never had a problem like this.
The only reason why I switched was because of the functionality the keyboard and mouse did not have.
Can some please help me or educate me on what I am not doing correctly.
    Thanks so much,
    Phyllis

I don't think you are doing anything wrong.  I also don't think you communication to your computer (in this case with bluetooth) has anything to do with your computer's internet connection.
If you are having a slow internet connection then when it happens plug your old mouse and keyboard back in.  Your internet connection should still be just as slow.
Maybe you should use different DNS servers as opposed to what your ISP provides.  I can suggest OpenDNS (208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220) or Google's DNS servers (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4).
One last thing.  Since you changed a peripheral, particularly when dealing with bluetooth, I suggest you also do a smc and pram reset.  In fact try this before you try changing your DNS servers.

  • Print to PDF is very slow showing "save as" dialog when printing from Outlook 2013

    Hello,
I'm having a problem with one of my users.  The problem is intermittent.  At first when I was looking at the issue, here is what I saw:
In Outlook 2013, I opened an e-mail.  I then selected Print, selected the Adobe PDF printer, and hit the print button.  There was over a 1 minute delay before the "save as" dialog appeared to ask me where to save the document and what to name it.  I did this for several different e-mails with and without attachments and the problem was consistent.  I saved the e-mail to a local e-mail file and the problem was the same.  This process was over 30 or 40 minutes.  I was pulled away for another issue and now the "save as" dialog pops up within seconds.  The user is complaining that this happens regularly.  I tried a repair, cleared temp files, and was going to try printing from other apps, but then it started temporarily behaving itself, so I can't tell you if the same delay existed in other apps.  I didn't see anything obvious in the event viewer logs.
Has anyone else seen this?  Anyone have an idea on how to troubleshoot this?
    Thanks,
    Jeffery Smith

Thank for your help Bill, but changing settings in the distiller did not seem to work. As my application prints directly to the default application without using anything specific to Acrobat, I was hoping there was a simple way forward. A colleague suggested copying registry entries from the account I logged on as to the S-1-5-18 entry, then rebooting. This had no effect as the prompt still comes up.
Aandi, I don't have the Acrobat SDK or any experience of it.
Also I'm not sure where any code/script would sit since the application is stable and so I would rather not change it.
If it amounts to a few lines of javascript sitting outside the application then that would be of interest.

  • Printer just started to go very slow?

Don't know of any reason for it,  one day my printer started to go very slow .  Please give me a way to fix....

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @jhd123
I understand your printer is functioning slowly.
Please let me know some more information about the issue. Here are a few questions I have for you.
What printer(s) are installed on the computer?
How is the printer connected (USB/ wireless/ wired/ Bluetooth)?
What is the Operating System of the computer?
Have you tested hardware functionality (made copies) and do the copies function slowly too?
Have you tried printing from different programs, and are they all printing out slow?
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software?
Let me know any more details you may have that could help me understand the scenario you are running into, and I will do my best to help

  • Print very slow

lightroom4 works well, but when i go into print module everything gets very slow, was ok.The same applies when I go to print in CS5,windows 7,64 bit ,a fast computer.

Hello , Welcome to the HP Community. I hope you have a pleasant experience here. I'd like to help you with the issue you are having with slow printing document when using the Google Cloud Print function with your HP LaserJet P1102w printer. When you tested the ePrint speed, did you print the same document you attempted to print when testing the Google Cloud Print? The reason I ask is that some larger PDF files may take longer to process at the ePrint and Cloud Print servers, which could be causing the delay. If you have already tested using the same document, I'd suggest making sure you have the most recent firmware update for the P1102w. You can download the firmware update utility here - HP LaserJet P1102w Firmware Update UtilityNOTE: You'll want to make sure that the printer is USB connected before running the update, any interruption during the update can cause serious issues with the printer. You can also try removing the printer from your Google Cloud Print account and re-adding it. Here are the steps to do so: Open the Google Chrome Browser on your computer.Make sure your Gmail account is logged in.Go to www.google.com/cloudprint.On the left hand side, select Printers.Click on your HP P1102w and select Delete at the top.On the left hand side, select Add a Cloud Ready Printer.Select HP from the list of manufacturers.Below the picture of the printer, under Setup Instructions, select the 2.Click here link.Type in your printer's ePrint e-mail address, and click Connect.Retry the print job using the Google Cloud Print service. Please respond to let me know if this worked for you.Have a great day.

Try to adjust the wireless settings on your router...Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...Leave Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
Click on the Wireless tab..Set the Radio Band to Standard-20MHz and change the Standard channel to 11-2.462GHz...Click on Advanced Wireless SettingsChange the Beacon Interval to 50,Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304,Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 and Click on Save Settings... Now,check..

  • Wireless printing on HP 6500A Plus -wireless does not work

windows 7, linksys E2000 router, sony vio computer wireless N.
No issues printing by USB.  When using wireless, prints first few lines, then slows to a stop.  Loses feed from router and disconnects.  Tried disabling all firewalls, removed antivirus, etc - nothing is working.  Not the only computer in household with same issue as well - Toshiba running xp is having same problems.  Need fix or I will trash printer and never purchase HP again and I have long been an HP customer for printers.

There have been a few issues with printing using the new E-series Linksys routers.  Make sure the router has the latest firmware. If that does not work, set a static IP address for the printer:
    - Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
    - Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
    - Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
    - On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). Yours is 192.168.1.100 to .149.  Let's use 192.168.1.200 for your printer.
    - Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
    - Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway and first DNS. Leave the second one blank.
    - Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.

  • WOW is very slow when using the linksys router

If I connect directly into my cable modem I and run and play WOW with no problem, if I connect back the wireless router the proformance is very slow and can't see the characters sometimes. Is there a setting to turn off or lower the filters?
    I have the 54GS

You may need to forward ports in order to make it work properly. This http://portforward.com/cportsnotes/battlenet/wow.htm would be a help.

  • 10.5.2 solved my wireless printing problem

After installing 10.5.2 on my MPB I can now print to my Epson R260 printer that is connected to
my Airport Extreme Base Station. This worked under Tiger but would not work with Leopard.
I had to delete the printer and then add it again. Now wireless printing works again.
Very nice work Apple. Thank you.

Mine too, epson cx7400 now works connected to airport. Installed newest drivers from epsons website and redid the printer setup, now works.

I recently purchased a B210a which I'm using wirelessly from my Apple iPhone, iPad, and a Mac. It takes over a minute to start printing from any of these devices. I've now connected a cable from my iMac and it is still very slow starting. Any suggestions?

  • Wireless printing is very slow

My wireless printing to my canon mp830 through my airport extreme is VERY slow. about 3 minutes a page, and that's a text page. i've read that this happened in a recent update. but i can't find any info on how to fix it. could someone please help me. thanks.

OK, first are you positive that the HP software you loaded on your Mac is compatible with 10.6?  That is a common mistake that has special, non-obvious ways to correct.
You could try to set a static IP address if the software is not an issue.
Please advise on the software and we will go from there.

  • Unable to connect to canon MG5350 printer wirelessly and also noticed running very hot to touch and a little slow at times.  Can anyone advise?

I have been having trouble connecting to my wireless printer and removed printer from system preferences thinking I could reinstall easily enough, however my computer does not recognise/identify my printer when I try to add a new printer.
I then noticed that my Mac was running really hot to touch and is sometimes slow, is this a serious problem, i no long have technical support or service cover.  Any recommendation as to what type of places I should go to get it serviced?  Apple only?

For resetting or setting up your printing system, go to > OS X Mavericks: Reset the printing system
To find local Authorized Apple Service Provider's, go to > https://locate.apple.com/
