Wireless problem - ISP Problem?

I've noticed a little problem with my internet connection.
I'm using firefox and when I'd type in an address the status bar would read "connecting to google.com" or whatever and it wouldn't connect to the site. I'd sometimes have to hit refresh a few times to get the site to load.
So, this happened tonight and I opened up Safari and the same problem occured. Safari gave a little message saying you are not connected to the internet. My Airport icon shows full strength and it didn't display a loss of connection at this time. After hitting refresh a few times, the page loaded OK.
I have noticed this problem happened a few times yesterday but only once today. Perhaps it's an ISP problem? My ISP is BT Internet.
My modem is a Netgear DG834G and my computer is about 3 meters away from it.
Weird thing about this is that I was chatting on IRC at the time and didn't get disconnected from the server......

OK so this happened again today, after not happening for a few previous days. I looked at all the lights on my modem / router and they were all lit up. This time I need to turn off Airport and turn it back on again, then things worked perfectly.
When this happened to me today I was again chatting using IRC and I got disconnected from the server. I'm not sure if this is what counts as a dropped connection, the Airport icon in the menu bar still reported full strength. I tried to log in to my router from my computer but I couldn't! I had to restart Airport to do so. Like I said no lights were out on my router so I'm guessing it's an Airport fault?
The logs from around the time this happened read -

Does anyone know if there's a way to have my Airport completely ignore all other networks and only show mine in the drop down menu? I do have interference robustness turned on. I can sometimes get up to 40% noise on my network according to iStumbler.
Just to add something else, I restarted my machine and haven't had a problem since. Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

  • ISP Problem?

Greetings from The Great Smoky Mts.
    OK, here's the problem....
We are new to computers in general and Apple in particular....
We had a WebTV for about 5 years and because there was no harddrive, we couldn't download....therefore, we subscribed to a hosting site at the wtv-zone (which back-upped all data weekly) and is the host of our website and a place to store photos in our file manager....
Then we got our iMac G5....
Not knowing about things like browsers and ISP's, and such, we thought when NetZero said they were compatible with Mac, all would be well....
When we visited our site at The Zone, we noticed that some of the photos in our files were only partly loaded and had a grey area at the bottom....after much trying, we discovered that photos of up to 29kb showed fully, but any of 30kb's would not....depending on the kb's, more and more of the picture would be cut off.....
The administrator at the zone was as baffled as us and first suggested it was a browser problem....we called Apple and the guy there said he was using Safari and had no trouble viewing our photos....we tried downloading Foxfire and even though it read the presented page slightly differently than Safari (cut off squarely with no grey area) it still had problems fully loading pictures over 29kb's.....The administrator at The Zone was very helpful and patient but after sending us several pictures of his own from different sites, suggested that we had an ISP problem....
OK, we need to know if anyone else has experienced similar ISP problems in general or with NetZero in particular....we are reluctant to change to another only to have the same problem....NetZero said they supported OS X....
We saw one called ArcZip which also said they were compatible with Mac.....anyone using them?
If anyone with an iMac G5 using Safari as a browser can take the time to visit one of our pages and let us know if you see fully loaded pictures it would be appreciated...Here's the addy: http://www.wtv-zone.com/wendrick/signs.html
Thanks in advance for any input.
    Regards, Wendrick

Here's thanking both Barbara and Bob for taking the time to view our page of photos.....Glad to hear that the problem isn't an Apple problem....We still haven't heard from anyone who is using NetZero...Why would we if that is our problem...lol....We got a message from customer support at ArcZip which said they work with all OS X versions....Guess we'll have to switch....Thanks again for your responses...Regards, Wendrick

  • 10.5.2 failed to fix wireless connection dropping problem

10.5.2 did not fix wireless connection dropping problem. I lose wireless connection whenever my MBP restarts or wake up from sleep in the building where I am and have to retype password about 10 times a day. I had not had this problem when I used Tiger. Everyone who has upgraded to Leopard or has it installed on their Mac is experiencing the same problem. Is there any solution or trick to resolve this problem? Thank you.

    Amularya,
Please read the post I made in this thread earlier. No less than a dozen solutions are offered in the link I provided for wireless issues. Troubleshooting wireless issues requires individual attention because of the plethora of issues which can't be tested for. So please start a new topic thread here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1225&start=0
So you can get a wider audience, and won't confuse the original poster with solutions that don't apply to them.
There literally hundreds of different WiFi adapters.
Dozens of different virus and firewall combinations.
Possibilities for damaged WiFi cards and routers, as well as routers whose firmware is not to spec with the latest wireless standard.
To top it off, bad RAM, hard disk being too full, and bad preference, cache or or logfiles can make various aspects of the operating system misbehave, and/or even the directory leading to those files.
Until each person starts their own thread looking for solution individually, chances are they won't find one. Yes, 10.5.2 addresses WiFi for some people. Obviously it doesn't for everyone. The point is, there are some people, like myself who have never had a WiFi issue either with Intel or PowerPC Macs that they couldn't resolve without a little bit of troubleshooting. I'm happy to help you walk through it, but only if you start your own thread asking for help.

This is a scam. Do not phone these people, at best they will charge you for unnecessary 'cleaning' and at worst they will gain access to your Mac and steal your data. You've probably managed to install some 'adware' which is producing this fake warning. 'Adwaremedic' should remove it and is safe to use - please see

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with a Windows operating system file there.
Perhaps try an sfc /scannow. For instructions, see the following Microsoft document:

  • I have not been able to open up Lightroom on my computer for over a year now. Whenever I double click on it, this comes up - can anyone help? Problem signature:   Problem Event Name:APPCRASH   Application Name:lightroom.exe   Application Version:3.4.1.10

I have not been able to open up Lightroom on my computer for over a year now. Whenever I double click on it, this comes up - can anyone help? Problem signature:   Problem Event Name:APPCRASH   Application Name:lightroom.exe   Application Version:3.4.1.10

First thing to try is the latest version of Lightroom (currently 5.6). If it don't crash, then problem solved - upgrade.
If Lr5 won't run on your machine, then Lr4 instead.
If both Lr5 and Lr4 crash on your machine, then at least you know it's a not a Lightroom version problem but something wonked in your system.
If you can't figure out how to resolve the crash on the system you have, then it's time for a new system (or try another converter/editor app).
PS - A few things to try:
    * After re-installing new version, if that doesn't fix it, then get rid of all Lightroom-related data files (rename them so they can be restored), in case problem is in Lr data file.
    * Remove all non-essential hardware in case problem is hardware/driver.
    * Startup up machine with minimal software services.
    * If still no go, consider updating driver software, including mainboard drivers and/or bios firmware if need be.
    * Of course run all the system hardware and software diagnostics you can - problem could be failing disk or ram..
    * Check system event logs for any clues.
If you don't know how to do some of these things - ask.
Do not say "you've tried everything" unless you want a lecture - there is most definitely something you haven't tried. It's like when you can't find your car keys - you haven't looked everywhere -  there is somewhere you haven't looked!
PS - Has Lightroom EVER worked on your machine? what's changed since then..
    Good luck,
    Rob

But I am assuming that when I make the installer, the 32-bit Run Time Engine is appened with the installer, as show below
Since from the picture you can see its including the support installers from '\Program Files (x86)\'
The application runs queries to fetch data from database in SQL server 2008, and for that I am using a Microsoft SQL Native Client 2008 R2 64 bit ( this is the only version that installs on either PC, even the one on which I developed my LV Application).
I am not using any driver, only toolkits for reports - and for that I un-checked the "Remove unused polymorphic VI instances" when making the executable, otherwise LV throws up an exception that share variable are not being included.
Yes I did reboot every time after I ran the installation.
    Still getting the same error.

    Hi Sue,
Does this happen with any particular file or all files?
Since the crash report above mentions accessibility.api, so are you working on any related function like adding tags etc. when Acrobat crashes?
Disable all the 3rd party services working in the background and check.
    Regards,
    Rave
