Wireless Projector or iPad Air
Hi all,
I have seen plenty of threads about using an iPad to present Keynote wirelessly, but I am still to find enough information to make me go out and buy a solution.
Is there anyone on this forum that has used a solution in the classroom for presenting with an iPad Air wirelessly? I would be very interested to hear you experiences.
Any help on this matter would be great.
Thanks in advance.
Jason
I would contact the host of the presentation and see how their setup works. I copied the information below from a 2010 posting. Hopefully the host has a usb interface for the projector (similar to what some mice have as a transmitter from the usb port)

So you want to use the projector as the monitor for a computer, but you want to use wireless to join them?
You won't be able to do that using an Airport network. Computer networks can only pass data that's been specially formatted. They can't pass video streams in a form that a monitor or projector can understand.
To do this you need a video sender - a device that accepts a video feed from a TV, DVD or satellite box, then sends it wirelessly to a receiver which you connect to your TV or projector. In your case, you would need an S-Video output on the computer to connect the sender, then connect the receiver to the S-Video input on your projector.
Problem is, video senders don't work as well as cables. You'll get some degradation of picture quality (noise) and possibly some interference from other wireless devices (dropout).
If you want to watch video that's stored on a networked computer, with decent picture quality, you'll need to connect a computer or a network media player directly to the projector using a HDMI or DVI cable.

After installing iTunes update 11.1.4, I find I cannot sync wirelessly with my iPad Air. I connected OK with a USB cable and checked that I had wireless syncing switched on my iMac which is running OS X 10.9.1. Anyone else haviing similar issues?

Eight hours of trying, but still no wireless. I am ready to give up. I have read several posts, and I have tried everything:
1. Shut off my Netgear router/restarted it
2. Reset settings on my iPad Air
3. Used airplane mode to turn off wireless before trying to establish connection
Nothing works! This Christmas gift has turned into a pain in the abs :-(
Meanwhile, my husband is connected and is using his 2nd generation iPad with no problems. Go figure!
Any other suggestions would be most appreciated. Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

Wireless Projector and Macbook Air
I have a Macbook Air and I will be giving a presentation next week. I was told that they have a wireless projector for me to use. What exactly do I need to use a wireless projector on my Macbook Air? I have the cord that is used to attach for wired projector, but I have not used wireless before. I am not sure the brand of the projector if that makes a difference.
Thank you!I would contact the host of the presentation and see how their setup works. I copied the information below from a 2010 posting. Hopefully the host has a usb interface for the projector (similar to what some mice have as a transmitter from the usb port)

Wireless security for iPad Air in the UK
I need to secure my iPad Air while using Hot Spots in the UK. I have seen downloads for VPN but not sure of how they would work while traveling. any advise would be greatly appreciated.
I would guess that Microsoft has either chosen not to release it in the UK or has some licensing issues preventing them from doing so.

Hi, has anyone else had a problem with wireless Printing with IPAD Air 2? I can print word or excel documents without any problems. But there are 2 applications, eBay and Shopify that don't print properly and I can't figure out the problem. I bought the iPAD so that I could be more productive and mobile but if I can't print my orders on eBay and Shopify, I will have to return the iPAD and no one seems to know what the problem is or how to fix it.
Here is what happens. I need to print the order information from the eBay order so I can send it. It's one page long. For some reason, a page break is inserted in the middle so I get the top half on one page and the bottom half on a second page. The same thing happens with my Shopify orders. It's the same whether I use the home printer - a Canon or the store printer - an HP, Safari or Chrome, Air Print or Google Cloud Print. Apple care just says to make sure that the printer and the iPAD are updated which they are.
Any ideas? I'd really like to hang on to the iPAD.
Thanks! This seems to be a snafu with the web browser.
Well if everything you need fits on one screen, you could take a screen image & print the resulting picture.

Would the web page print OK from a computer?
I've had a lot of problems printing web pages over the years ( using computers ). Printing of web pages hasn't been perfected it seems.
You could try copy & paste to a word document and print from there.
You could try converting to pdf and print the pdf. I hate to recommend a paid solution when I do not know if it would work, but icab is a swiss army knife of web browsers.

For pdf conversion do google.

Two questions:
Can I trade in my iPad3 Wi-Fi and Verizon Wireless for an iPad Air?
Can the retail employee transfer all my data off my iPad 3 to the new IPad Air during the transaction?
Thanks!(1) Well the carriers are taking trade ins from any carrier. So I would call 1-800-922-0204 and ask.
(2) I highly doubt the store can transfer your ipad data from one to the other. You can do this through i Cloud or iTunes if you use these services.
I have seen where some people cannot get anything other than contacts off one device to the other. I would check with the store.
Good Luck -

You can only add songs to your iOS device from iTunes via Wi-Fi sync or via your cable, not Bluetooth.

Can someone please help??? I received am IPad air in November for my birthday and have not been able to use yet, I could not get it to connect so I returned it for another iPad air. And cannot get it to connect to wireless either. I have three other iPad 2's and laptops in home and everything connects with no problem. What is the deal with these iPad airs? My husband took the iPad to Apple store, it works there but didn't change anything so it won't work at home. Do I need to step down to old IPad since that's all that will connect in home. This is crazy,!!! How can I get my IPad air working in my home.???
