Wireless/Remote Webcam

Good day to all,
We are remodeling half of our garage to make it a play room/workshop. We want to mount a wireless webcam on the wall so we can keep tabs on the kids. Is there a webcam that we can network into the iMac that would accomplish this? My first thought was the x10 but it is only for Windows. Any recommendations would be apprecaited.

I've integrated a Sitecom LN-401 wireless IP camera (www.sitecom.com) into my home Mac/PC wireless network. They seem to be mostly a Europe-based company but you may be able to pick up their products (or similar) in the US. Installation and set-up was fairly straightforward, I can even access the video feed remotely (i.e. from work).

  • Wireless remote control and FM transmitter in one?

    Hello.
    Does anbody know if there is a wireless remote control and FM transmitter in one product out yet for the iPod? I am wanting to keep my iPod in the trunk of my GoldWing and control it while I ride transmitting through the FM tuner.
    Other ideas or a combination of products to accomplish this much appreciated!
    thanks
    iPod 80 GB   Windows XP

    I spent some time (2 hrs) again with the vendor, trying to solve the issue.
    The only result we got is that, when the PC is in suspended status, it can be resumed by pressing "ON" button of the IR Remote Control. That's all.
    My suspect is therefore confirmed: it isn't a hardware issue. It lokks like the IR Remote Controller and the PC can talk eachother, but they speak different languages.
    It is quite a surprise that I couldn't find any information on the use  (Settings? Activation?) of the remote control, nor in the topics of this forum. Really I'm the only one trying to watch TV on the PC? Are there any users of a C540 who can tell me their experience?
    Thank you

  • How do I move iPhoto library to a wireless, remote HD?

    How do I move iPhoto library to a wireless, remote HD?

    Same as any HD.
    Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
    But Note: A strong warning: If you're trying to edit the Library (that is, make albums, move photos around, keyword, make books or slideshows etc.) or edit individual photos in it via Wireless be very careful. Dropouts are a common fact of wireless networking, and should one occur while the app is writing to the database then your Library will be damaged. Simply, I would not do this with my Libraries.

  • 1Ds Mk II wireless remote

    So like the title says, I have been trying to find a wireless remote that works with the N3 connector and/or hotshoe of my Canon 1Ds Mk II.
    So far I have tried the following:
    [Pixel Pro - had high hopes as it was well rated](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0049HCSM8/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1), might try it again.
    [Aputure 2.4Ghz Trigmaster Radio Remote Flash Trigger and Shutter Cable Release](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004FLC7YC/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1), no the name is not mispelled.
    I have the following 3 in my Amazon Wishlist to try in case anyone has experience with them:
    * [Opteka 650' Wireless Radio Remote Shutter Release Control](http://www.amazon.com/Opteka-Wireless-Shutter-Release-Control/dp/B005ZH2YYI/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?...
    * [RainbowImaging 100 Meter 2.4GHz Wireless Remote Shutter Release](http://www.amazon.com/RainbowImaging-Wireless-Shutter-Release-Replaces/dp/B004EDMSO0/ref=wl_it_dp_o_...
    * [Cowboy Studio Wireless Remote Trigger Switch](http://www.amazon.com/Cowboy-Studio-Wireless-Trigger-RS-80N3/dp/B002X7FSO6/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_nC?ie...
    Not looking for anything fancy but would be willing to spend a couple extra bucks if I can get one that will allow for a flash on top of it (plan to get a flash unit sometime).
    Please note, I cannot afford to buy the Canon Wi-fi adapter thing, not to mention it has terrible reviews.
    Thanks!

    I agree.  Send it to Canon service.  I think they still work on the 1Ds Mk II but not the 1D Mk II.

  • I200 Wireless Remote Not Working

    Evening all,
    I've just received my I200 Wireless Remote from Creative, and it doesn't work .
    I'm using the Creative I-Trigue 3300 speaker system, and tech support stated that the device would function with these speakers.
    At the moment when i plug it in and press the power button, nothing happens.
    Can anyone give me advice?
    Regards
    Craig

    Luis -
    Thank you for responding; I just this minute returned from my local Best Buy; the Mac guru there assisted me, and I found that I had to plug in the remote first, then turn on the iBook. It then recognized it as a keyboard, and we configured it from there. It's now working! Thank you again.

  • Apple wireless remote

    I am annoyed I forgot to look when I went to the apple store I checked out the macbook liked it and decided to buy it online the only thing is does the wireless remote have a slot that it can go into on the side of the macbook?

    There is a magnet on the MB for the remote similar to
    the iMac. It's half way down the left side of the
    display (facing towards you). It's pretty weak but it
    will sit there.
    I know it isn't a place to store the remote but it is
    handy... well, kinda!
    hmm i hadnt noticed that, the one on the left side is real weak, but on the top right corner it is really strong, also strong on the top left corner (for both left and right sides the remote will stick strongly on a diagnoal) i dont think this is meant for the remot (i could be completely wrong about this) but isnt it part of the magnetic "latch" system. was the magnet put in the remote on purpose for this? or is it just a nice coincidence? if you move the remote around the outer lining of the monitor you can feel where the magnet is +/-

  • Trying to get wireless remote to work with Flash Presentation... HELP!!!

    I know almost nothing about Flash or Powerpoint.  I was given a Flash presentation I need that I'd like to show at meetings using my new wireless remote, but I can't get it to move forward & backward between slides (works fine using arrow keys on the laptop keyboard - Windows XP Pro).  The remote works fine with Powerpoint presentations, so I know the remote is ok.  Is there some setting/command I need to allow my Flash presentation to work with my remote, or do I need a special remote?  I already talked to the remote tech support (Keyspan/TrippLite) and they were totally unfamiliar wirh Flash and simply said that their unit works with Powerpoint as advertised, which was true, but they couldn't help me with Flash presentations.  Can anyone out there help me??  Thanks very much!

    Hi, and thanks so much for responding!  I have the Keyspan PR-EZ1 and I don't think it allows me to "map" keys since when I called their tech support, they didn't mention that as an option.  I'm really new at this, but I just noticed - as I was sitting right here on my browser earlier, I pressed the remote's slide-changing keys and my web page scrolled up and down!  Just now I tried it and my insertion point cursor moved up and down!  So I guess these buttons must be "mapped" to the up and down arrows.  How nice it would be if I could somehow figure out how to switch them to the left and right arrows.  A colleague of mine told me just an hour or so ago that when she bought her Logitech wireless remote, it had the same problem with Flash presentations.  But one day, out of the blue, it "fixed" itself and now does Flash fine.  (I didn't ask her if it still does Powerpoint though.)  She has no idea how or why and doesn't care.  Her remote is a discontinued model though (sigh).  Anyway, maybe it'll be worth my while to make another call to tech support and ask about key mapping.  Maybe a more advanced model might allow this function.  Thanks for the spark!

  • IH5: Does the iH5 come with a wireless remote?

    Does the iH5 come with a wireless remote?

    So I am planning on buying the new version of the iHome and I have looked on websites such as bestbuy, target, costco, and walmart to try to get a feel of what the iHome is like and look at all the negatives and positives of it. On all the websites it says that it does not include a remote but yet other people say that it does. Can someone fill me in on if it does or doesn't come with a remote??

    Ok, I'm officially retarded.  I followed the link you gave me, which led to another link about fullscreening (a .zip file) which I decompressed and ran then escaped out of it.  I then looked at the gobbledygook programming language code and I found where it said "trapallkeys" but still haven't the slightest idea how to get my remote to work.  Is there some utility file which I can run which already has this "trapallkeys" function compiled into a nice simple executable that I can run prior to or in conjunction with my Flash presentation which will let my wireless remote controller flip through my slides?  I'm sorry, but please don't expect me to understand what...
    package
    import flash.display.Sprite;
    import flash.display.StageDisplayState;
    import flash.display.StageScaleMode;
    import flash.events.KeyboardEvent;
    import flash.events.MouseEvent;
    import flash.ui.Keyboard;
    import flash.system.fscommand;
    public class FullscreenDemo extends Sprite
    public function FullscreenDemo():void
    fscommand("trapallkeys", "true");
    stage.showDefaultContextMenu = false;
    stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN;
    stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.SHOW_ALL;
    stage.addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN, onStage_KEY_DOWN);
    quitScreen_mc.visible = false;
    quitScreen_mc.yesBtn_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onQuitYes_CLICK);
    quitScreen_mc.noBtn_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onQuitNo_CLICK);
    quitScreen_mc.yesBtn_mc.buttonMode = true;
    quitScreen_mc.noBtn_mc.buttonMode = true;
    function onStage_KEY_DOWN(evt:KeyboardEvent):void {
    if (evt.keyCode == Keyboard.ESCAPE) {
    quitScreen_mc.visible = true;
    function onQuitYes_CLICK(evt:MouseEvent):void {
    fscommand("quit");
    function onQuitNo_CLICK(evt:MouseEvent):void {
    quitScreen_mc.visible = false;
    means.  That may be all I need to solve my problem, but it's in a language I just don't understand.  Could you or somebody out there please break this down for a newbie??  Thanks very much!   :-)   :-)

  • Does Best Buy sell any Camcorders that come with wireless remotes?

    Hello,
    I have a Sony digital tape camcorder that I am looking to upgrade from, to a flash or hard drive camcorder. It has a wireless remote and I need that feature on any new camcorder I purchase. However, the product descriptions fail to mention whether or not a camcorder has a wireless remote.
    So, which flash or hard drive camcorders sold at Best Buy have either (a) a wireless remote, or (b) the ability to be controlled by a universal wireless remote?
    Thanks in advance for any information, as it will help determine if I should purchase a camcorder from Best Buy.

    Hi jollystomper,
    It seems like there was a time not too many years ago when every camcorder on the market had a wireless remote.  Manufacturers found that they were not widely used, however, and quit making those remotes standard.
    I did a quick search for you, and the only camcorder I found with a remote in the box is the Toshiba Camileo X416.
    Check it out below.
    Toshiba - Camileo X416 16GB HD Flash Memory Camcorder - Black
    Model: PA3974U1C8K | SKU: 3530538
    This camcorder features electronic image stabilization for enhanced clarity and records 1080p HD video to bring images to life. The 3" LCD touch-screen display swivels for an optimal view and allows easy editing.

    usually the motorola code for the cable box is 900
    The osiris programming CD should be able to program a motorola cable box.

    Webcams are universal products and can be used for every notebook or desktop PC. All you must do is to use Google or some other search machine and check availability on the market and also check the price.
    I have no much experience with those cams but ide is very good. If you buy one please let us know what your choice is.
