Wireless Router MSI RG60SE - Problem With Firmware

Hi, I have firmware 3.5.3 on my router MSI RG60SE. I updated this firmware to other version from here:
h t t p://faenl.msi.com/index.php?dir=Networking/RG60SE/
Problem is, that I dont know, what kind of firmware is it. When I finish updatig firmware, I dont connet to admin mode, I dont see wifi network of router. Router is maybe broken.
I am affraid, that the firmware is some special kind of firmware. Because in one of .rar files, which are including of the firmware web (h t t p://faenl.msi.com/index.php?dir=Networking/RG60SE/firmware/), contain picture. On the picture is depicted print screen from admin mode of the router RG60SE and there is available option ENABLE BRIDGES. In old firmware this option I never seen. Here is a picture with these option:
h t t p://img268.imageshack.us/img268/8885/nlw.bmp
Please, advise me, what am I doing with it. Because, none of my devices cant connect. And I dont know connect to admin mode of router. Thanks

No idea why it blocks it.
Silly is that it does work upto the last trace.
Have you tried a ping with a larger byte size?
You do know that ping is working with extreme small blocks by default.
I just noticed Google refuses to accept large packets!
Have you tried other routes except Google?

  • Wireless Router - MSI RG60SE

    Hello,
I have a wireless router - MSI RG60SE; the problem with this device is that i can't use "tracert" from windows. "ping" seems to work well.
    Original firmware was: 3.5.3 Build 070416 Rel.38958n
I tried(and succeed) to update firmware, so now it says: 3.7.2 Build 080303 Rel.57149n
But the problem is still there. i searched a lot on Google but I didn't find anything that could fix this.
Do you guys have any idea?
    Thanks,

  • Is there a problem with firmware 4.30.5 for the WRT54G?

    Hello experts,
I have read in this forum that there are problems with firmware version 4.20.5 for the WRT54G.
Is this so? And if so, where might one find the details?
    Thanks.

There is now a new firmware update available for the AirportExtremeBase. I had a similar problem as all of you, so I hope this will fix the problem!

  • RG54G2 Wireless Router Internet Connection Problem

    Hi,
(apologies for the long message - trying to cover all details - summary: wireless router often drops internet connection)
I recently bought an RG54G2 Wireless Router, a CB54G2 PCMCIA Wireless card and a D-Link GWL-630 PCMCIA Wireless card.  In addition to two laptops connected to the wireless router WLAN, I have two PCs (one Win WP Pro SP 1 and one Win98SE) connected to the router via wired LAN.  I also have a SurfBoard SB3100 Cable Modem connected to the WAN port (this connects to my ISP -  Optusnet (Australia) via DHCP).
The problem I have is that the internet connection is disconnected many times a day (often every few minutes, sometimes an hour or so).  I am able to reconnect by resetting the wireless router via the wireless router configuration page.  When the internet is disconnected I am still able to access the computers on the LAN/WLAN (via Windows Explorer and Ping), I am also able to ping the router and the Cable Modem, but nothing outside of the cable modem.
Also, when the internet is disconnected the System Status page indicates that the router is still connected to the internet, and the Diagnostics page passes the Test Connection test, though no external pings work.
I did not have this problem when the cable modem was connected directly to the Win98SE PC (and other PCs via ICS).
I have disabled the WLAN and the problem still exists with only the wired LAN.
I have changed numerous settings in the wireless router config page with no success (eg disabling DHCP and setting each IP address, minimising LAN and WLAN speeds to 10 and 11MBps plus others).
I have upgraded the wireless router firmware to R1.0.6.0 (no change to the problem).
Searching on Google I have found several other cases of routers with unstable internet connections (none refering to the MSI routers), but none had solutions that helped my situation (most replies suggested updating the firmware).
Any suggestions of how to make the router internet connection stable?
    Thanks,
    Mike

maybe this is the FIX 4 wireles router internet connection problem
please let me know if any one fix the problem with this tips
    thankz

Subject: SOLUTION to my router loosing connection to Windows XP
Reply | Reply to Author | Forward | Print | Individual Message | Show original | Report Abuse
I am happy to report that after 8 days of constant battles, reboots, phone
calls, cable pulling, router changing, it seems that I finally have found a
combination that has had me using Verizon DSL account for over 12 hours so
far without any kind of interruptions.
Since so many of you tried giving me comments and suggestions, I felt that
it is necessary for me to post this here so that the next person will not
(hopefully) need to go through this hell as I did!
My original problem was that when after I purchased a D-Link Wireless Router
DI-624, I would get disconnected from Verizon DSL at least once every 2
hours or so. My internet access would "freeze" and then a little popup box
at the bottom right system tray would tell me that the "LAN cable has been
unplugged".   After about a minute or so, my internet connection would be
back working   This was NEVER happening during the 2+ years I was using my
Westell modem alone (running in router mode).
Please keep in mind: The problem I was having was not wireless related as
it was happening to the desktop computer to which the router/westell was
    connected to!
During these last 8 days, I tried: one DI-624 wireless router, two Netgear
614v3 routers and two Linksys WRT54G v.2 routers. In addition, I received a
brand new Westell 2200 modem from Verizon.   I also tried about four
different CAT-5 cables. Here is the final outcome:
I have the Linksys WRT54G (version 2) wireless router connected to the
Netgear Fast Ethernet FA310TX network card in Auto-Sense mode (using the
built-in XP drivers, as Netgear told me that there was never a newer
revision released). I have DISABLED the built-in 3Com Gigabit LOM (3C940)
network card (via the ASUS P4C800 Deluxe motherboard BIOS), DISABLED the
Zero Wireless Configuration service, and have put in the IP/Gateway/DNS
address numbers inside my Windows XP Network Connections | LAN setup. My
operating system is Windows XP Pro SP1 and the modem is a Westell 2200
    configured as bridge only.
If my situation continues to be stable, I *might* try to go back to the 3Com
built-in card (disable any power management) and then re-enabling the Zero
Wireless Configuration services. But in reality, I am happy with the way
things are and have already spent enough time trying to get my router to
work with Verizon DSL without having it drop connections!
Now, the next step will be setting up the WIRELESS part of this. I don't
even yet have a laptop with me on the premises, but the 802.11g card that I
already have is the D-Link DWL-G650. I hope and assume that this will work
    okay with the Linksys...
One thing I must say is that I never realized that how many problems other
users are having. I would have thought that since 802.11x has been around
in the mainstream by now 2+ years, that things would have been much more
"system friendlier".   And again, my issues were not even WIRELESS related.
All 3 tech supports were not really helpful, as none of them realized that
the problem is somehow between the router and Windows XP (Ethernet card?)
loosing a connection, which of course results in Verizon DSL loosing the
    connection also.
One other comment about the Netgear 614 v.3 router: A number of people have
responded to tell me that they have had this random "router resetting"
happen to them (where the routers behaves as if someone turned the power off
and then back on, and the lights flash) just as if you first turn it on). I
was lucky to witness it myself during one of the "disconnects" that I had.
This was actually the reason why I went back to try the Linksys one more
time. So, I would definitely recommend staying way from this 614 (version
    3) model.
Once again - THANK YOU everyone!

  • Can't connect to router through airport (problem with encryption)

We have a small office network with several computers connected to a wireless router. A while back all the macs using airport suddenly were no longer able to connect to the internet (email still worked fine) while the windows computers on wireless and macs on lan still work fine.
The router is using WPA personal encryption, and when using this the macs can connect to the wireless network no problems, but then they aren't able to use the internet. as i said though email still works without any problems. We spoke to the tech support at our ISP but macs aren't very common in south africa, so they just suggest we change the encryption from WPA to WEP encryption. I tried both 64 bit and 128 bit but every time i get an error saying: There was an error joining airport network. If I turn off encryption though everything works fine and the macs are able to access the internet without any problems. Anybody have any ideas what might be wrong?

I am having the same problems since 3 days ago (Imac core 2 duo 20" 2,16). I think it was after the 10.4.10 upgrade.
I haven't tested if I can connect an open network (without encryption).
I can't connect to internet using the wifi network... sometimes, i can't even locate the SSID's network.
Even using windows xp with bootcamp i can't use the network, so it's really strange. This can only be firmware/hardware... cause XP on my mac was able to connect and now it can't too. I tried with other computers (notebook) and i can connect without problems.
Have you solved this issue ?
    Anyone can help?

  • Why is wireless router connectivity is different with Powerbook than iMac?

I had problems with my 10.2 on the G3 450 iMac (that caused me to go to 10.3 about 2 weeks ago), my trusty old Buffalo router fried its WAN port. I replaced it with a Netgear unit, then a Linksys unit, now I'm back to Buffalo. The ongoing problem is that the laptop has a heck of a time connecting to the internet - while the iMac (via ethernet) has no problems whatsoever. It doess/did this with every manufacturer of routers I tried (since first I thought it may be a Netgear incompatibility issue).
Strange part about the problems: Only initially does it spend 20+ seconds (close to Safari/Firefox timeout) "looking for" the host. Once it has found it, if you click on any links within the same host, it's lightning-fast. Just the initial callup seems to be inordinately difficult. I was hoping new firmware for the wireless modem, 10.4, the latest Airport update etc would alleviate the situation - no such luck. It USED to work fine on the old wireless router ... Also, it does this "looking for" business whether I have security enabled or not (I usually run 128bit encoding).
I don't really mind waiting for a few seconds for a site to load, but when you're talking about something like Yahoo or ESPN, all these independent advertising servers have to be contacted to load the page and - you guessed it - it's a 20+ second delay for each one...
I've rebooted the router and the laptop many times; I doubt it's the cable modem as the Ethernet on the iMac comes from the same router an doesn't have a problem at all. Any chance it's a setting of some sort in the preferneces panels?
The problem appeared initially with the Netgear router. The whole reason I went back to Buffalo is that I never had any issues in the 4 years I owned the previous one (until the WAN port went out). I also tried a Linksys router but admittedly didn't spend a lot of time with it as the delay problem appeared right from the start.
As far as 3rd party hardware is concerned, I wouldn't mind just getting an Apple Airport station at this time, but really don't want to spend the $ if it's an issue with either the laptop or its Airport card. I guess I could get one here at the local Apple store and bring it back if it doesn't work any differently (at least then I'd know it's either a laptop or a Comcast Cable-issue...).
    System setup:
    Desktop: G3 "Graphite" iMac / slot-loading / 400Mhz / 640MB RAM / 10.3.9
    Laptop: 15" G4 Aluninium Powerbook / 1.25Ghz / 1GB RAM / 10.4.6
Wireless: Buffalo AirStation Turbo G WHR-HP-G54 (wireless to laptop / ethernet to iMac).
    Powerbook 15/1.25GHz/1GBRAM   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

It sounds as though you're having a problem with DNS lookups. Try this, type into Terminal (Applications > Utilities)…
    sudo lookupd -flushcache
It will subsequently ask you for your administrator password. Type it in and then wait for the prompt to return. Do not do anything before then. Now, restart and see if things are any better.

  • MSI RG54GS2 - problem with print server

    Hi,
I have router MSI RG54GS2. Everything works correctly. If I connect printer to USB on router then my router works only 10 hours and then it freezes. If printer is not connected, router works fine without freezing.
I tried to use new firmware, but it doesn't solve my problem.
    What should I do, please?

So, I tried it. Router works correctly without freezing but only via cable :( . If I try to connect via WiFi to my NETWORK, then my notebook and PDA find SSID and that's all. Widows show formular that everithing is connected correctly, but internet and lan network doesn't work. If I disconnected PRITER from router, then noteebok and PDA could connect to internet and local network.
:( I have only trouble with this router :> .

  • Problem with firmware

recently i bought wireless router WRT54G with an unknown linux based firmware in it.I cant configure the router.I cant event reset it.Wireless doesnt work so how can i install new firmware that is original firmware in it.Thanks

You need to gain access to the linksys router by:
1.Open Internet Explorer and type 192.168.1.1 into the address bar.
2.You will now get a sign-in box, User Name = (Leave Blank)
Password = admin (all lower case letters)
    3. Click on the Administration Tab
    4. Then click on the Firmware Upgrade sub tab.
To get the firmware  for this router you can go to
    www.linksys.com/download
If for some reason you can not access the router and are having problems , you can perform a factory reset by holding the reset button in on the back of the router for 30 seconds, when the router syncs back up (2Minutes) try the above steps again.
    Good Luck,

  • Wireless router doesn't work with Windows 8

Does anyone have experience with attempted installs of wireless routers using windows 8? I have tried to install three devices but they will not install for windows 8 and I can't find a single one that is. I don't need the internet just a router for my home wireless. Printer, mp3, etc. If you look at all of the Linksys specs online, none of them say they are compatible with windows 8 just up to 7. I have tried to install two Linksys routers and two Belkin routers and none of them will install due to windows 8 being my OS. I use a verizon hotspot for my 4g internet.

    To sfd1117:
I am able to see your post in this thread: http://community.linksys.com/t5/Social-Media-Support/Facebook-com-WRT110-Internet-access-problem/m-p.... I’ve posted a reply but let me post it here:
If other devices are connecting without any problem through the router then the problem might be on the new laptop. First thing that you can try is check if the laptop can detect other wireless networks. If it can, try connecting to the other network. If it’s able to connect then it must have something to do with the wireless settings of the router. If it can’t then the problem might be on the built in wireless card of that laptop. Before calling the laptop manufacturer though, you can still try changing a setting (channel) on the router and see if the windows 8 laptop will be able to connect. For instructions, refer to this link: Changing the Wireless Channel on a Linksys Router.
By the way, what is the model number of your router?

  • USB Wireless Router. Anyone tried with 3G?

I'm not talking about a USB Wireless (or Wi-Fi) adapter. I'm talking about a USB Wireless Router like Synet's Windy31 USB Wireless Router ( http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-9904137-1.html ).
This will connect to a Window PC's USB port and create a wireless network by sharing the computer's internet connection. This sounds like it will be really useful when I'm travelling with just my iPhone and not a laptop. I can plug this USB Wireless Router into a friend/family member's PC or laptop and share their internet connection via Wi-Fi.
Anyone used this particular product or know of any others? This Windy31 has had mixed reviews.

You may try to reflash the firmware manually using the file from the site. That is done by downloading firmware file and doing the upgrade through the setup page. • Model BEFW11S4 wireless router just stopped working with Mac; still works with Windows

I have the above model Linksys wireless router, hard connected to a Windows XP Pro desktop unit. I also have a Windows XP Home laptop. My wife has a Mac PowerBook laptop. On Thursday last week her laptop started having trouble connecting to Internet. Problem is intermittent--sometimes can get on and sometimes now. When on it might connect to a web site normally or sometimes takes a long (as in loooooong) time connecting. My XP Home laptop continues to connect quickly and will move from one URL to another easily; no problems. She took the PowerBook to Panera and got on the Internet with no trouble. She was on for at least a half hour and suffered no outage or slow-downs. Came back home; got the same problems as before. Only thing that has changed is a big snow on Thursday, same day as the trouble started. The relationship is probably non-existent, but it's the only thing different from Wednesday (when working well) to Thursday (when started having trouble). Any thoughts? I naturally welcome any responses. Thanks, Michael Plog

Hello people. I'm having the same weird trouble: I'm having this BEFW11S4 to which I connect via another wireless AP and a switch a Windows XP PC and a MacBook Pro computer (both with Ethernet cable connected to the switch, to which the AP is connected). Both the above computers work seamlessly, but sometimes the other iMac I have in WLAN doesn't surf anymore. It can ping both MacBook Pro and Windows XP PC, but doesn't anymore ping the BEFW11S4. Wireless connection is crypted with WEP-64 bit key. When this is happening, also from the Windows XP PC I cannot get on the web interface of the BEFW11S4. It seems to be "locked" somehow. After unplugging the power and re-plugging it in, everything works again also on the iMac. Anybody managed to solve this issue? What version of Firware do you guys have? I have 1.50.13... regards.

  • 5300: Problem with firmware upgrade

    Hi,
I have Nokia 5300 Xpressmusic with firmware version 4.7. I have recently download Nokia Software Updater and tried to update my phone via USB cable connection. The software runs fine, it identifies my phone correctly, checks for update & tells me that V5.5 is available & downloads it successfully. The problem is that when I press the 'Upgrade' button, 1st it reboots my phone in 'Test Mode', then the 'Preparing installation' window remains on the screen for a couple of minutes & then it gives out an error saying "Connection to phone lost". I've tried reconnecting my cable but it still gives out the same error. Fortunately when I took the batteries out & reinserted & started my phone, it turned on successfully with the previous firmware version. But I still cant get it upgraded. I switched to another PC & tried it there but it still gives out the same error at the same stage. Kindly help me out with this, what is going on here?

  • Reporting a problem with firmware and secondary ca...

    Hi there,
I would like to report a problem with the 202.12.11 firmware for the Nokia E75.
My secondary camera works fine with the normal camera application until I make a video call. The picture for the video call using the secondary camera is just white and blank.
After making the video call, the secondary camera won't work with the default camera application. I can switch between video and image mode but all I see is my camera wallpaper.
It's definitely not the hardware because the secondary camera will work again after reinstalling the firmware .... until I use it in a video call that is!
I have also had no problems with video calls using the older firmware.
Please advise and I hope you can issue a patch soon.

I had the exact same problem.  I eventually used their "Express Lane" problem reporting, and they refunded me the cost of the episode.  (???) Um, hello, that's not what I was asking for... can I just have my episode #3 please?  Hopefully they'll get around to uploading the right show eventually, and possibly not use the Swedish Chef as an intern to manage their upload queue.  #borkborkbork

  • Wireless router that plays well with Apple Airport Express

Trying to find a router (with vpn and WDS- guaranteed) so that it will allow connection to apple wireless base stations and express units. Not all routers will, and many have misleading info on sites and boxes. Many routers seem to have very weak signals when connecting to Apple airport cards in apple laptops.
    Anyone have any ideas.
I would like to see one that comes with DUAL WAN's and load balancing, or a way to connect such hardware together.

    Hello All,
I had a very simple need, I wanted to keep my Linksys wireless router, WRT54G, not use 3rd party software and use the AirPort Express to send my Itunes Music from from PC that did not have wifi on it thru the network to a remote back rook of my house....after looking at tons of alternatives it was a really simple fix....
    1. Load the software from apple that comes with the APExpress
    2. When the wizard starts let it find your Airport....then choose manual set up...
    3. Go to Tab Internet Connection
    4. Look at the IP address listed...mine was 192.168.1.101
    5. Go to the Linksys set up page
    6. Applications & Gaming
    7. Port Range Forward, List the word Apple- then open port 548 to 548 and then enable the IP that you saw in the IP listed in the Apple configuration window..Step 4 above
     Perfect....wonderful....

  • MSI FX5600XT problems with agp 4x and other stuff

    Well
    I just bought myself a MSI FX5600XT-TD128
I had a Hercules (guillemot) GEFORCE2 PRO (clock higher than GTS and slower than Ultra).
I'm not sure if my previous videocard (the gf2pro) would run stable @ 4x or run @ 4x at all.. I know my motherboard is capable of agp 4x, the old videocard I am not sure it was..
WEll, I bought the msi, plugged in and no post.
so I take the card out, put it back in, posted... 5mins later, crash..
    No post..
So I put the old videocard in (gf2pro) and disable agp4x in the bios, plug the msi back in and running so far stable...
My motherboard is an IWILL KK266 (via kt133a).. very nice motherboard running on a not-so-compatible-with-it athlon xp 1600+ (1.4ghz)
The mobo problems with the cpu (processor) are limited to having to press 'reset' switch to boot (or else pc will power up but no boot).
Well my question is, is the agp 4x problem related to this msi video card in general, or to a faulty video card I *might* have (so I can exchange this one) or is it related to the motherboard???
Also, can someone explain to me the diferences between FX5600, FX5600XT AND FX5600 ULTRA?
Also, explain to me please the 'V,T,D,R' models differences too?
And Last but not least, what is the best driver for the fx5600xt and winxp??
I'm running msi latest (53.03, I installed it just to test em), I had nvidia's 52.16 prior to that.
    Thanks for all ur help

This can also be from a weak PSU, which would be even further taxed by adding the power hungry FX card.
    Might need a stronger PSU.
