Wireless Scanning feature not working

I would like to assist you today with resolving the wireless scan issue that you're experiencing when trying to scan from your Windows 8.1 computer to your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M128 Printer. Now, you indicate that you're using the Laserjet m128 printer. Just to clarify, are you using the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M128fw or the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M128fn (What's my Model Number)?  The reason I ask is because the LaserJet Pro MFP M128fw is wireless. However, the LaserJet Pro MFP M128fn is not.
Once you confirm that your LaserJet Pro MFP M128 is the wireless version, can I please have you start by running the HP Print and Scan Doctor on your computer. This Tool will run on your computer and 'fix scanning' issues for you. Should any driver, connection, or software conflict be found, then the HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool will attempt to resolve those conflicts for you.

    I've just bought a new hp laserjet pro mfp m125nw and I can't scan from the HP Utility tool. Although there are no problems to scan from the Preview prog as well as from scanner program from Printers&Scans (in Sys. preferences).

    I see that you are having issues scanning from the HP Utility tool. I can help you with this today.
    Did you download and install the drivers?
    HP LaserJet Pro MFP M125/M126/M127/M128 Series Software.
    Can you scan from the HP Scan Software?
    How to Scan: OS X v10.9.
    Check the driver name that is installed for the printer. The Airprint driver might be installed instead of the Printer's driver. (usually defaults to Airprint)
    Click the Apple menu and then click System Preferences. Click Printers & Scanners, highlight the printer name on the left side and on the right side of the screen should show the name.
    If the printer name shows Airprint, then that is the Apple drivers. Delete it and add the printer name back in from the list. Click the - sign to delete the driver and then click the + sign to add the driver, might have to click the drop down to select the printer's name to add it in.
    Try again.

  • HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fn - DNS issue, hundreds of UDP connections affects my router 100% CPU usage

    Hi all,
    We've bought about ten pieces (HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fn), tested only one the other 9 are waiting for their time to be sent in our branch offices. The MFP works fine, no complains till later that day I noticed that our Mikrotik Router was struguling with high CPU usage, it took me some time to find the issue and it was the new bought MFP. Don't know why but it creates hundreds of UDP connections and almost 100% CPU usage goes to DNS service. As soon as I shutdown the MFP and delete all the connections everything goes back to normal. I've disabled almost all services (HP web service, Ipv6, SNMP, AirPrint, SLP, LPD, WS-Discovery, Bonjour), leaving only Ipv4 but without luck the issue persists.   • HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw Scanning

    I bought and jsut setup an HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw.  
    We are a Mac household, and we connect via wireless to the printer, which works great. 
    My issue is scanning.  On the little screen on the printer, I can copy, print and even fax.  No option for scanning.  There is some bullsh*t app that I've had to download via HP called Readiris, which is useless.  There is no apparent way to initiate a scan via this app. 
    So I've bought a multifunction printer that doesn't scan.  Any help?

    Below is the text from the first page of the first link one clicks on about this printer.  How _on earth_ is one supposed to deduce pre-purchase that it doesn't scan from the main menu?  Argh.  As an HP employee myself, this is aggravating in the extreme.

    I am running OSX 10.9.1.   • HP Laserjet PRO MFP M125nw; scanner is not located wirelessly

    Product name: HP Laserjet PRO MFP M125nw
    Operating system: Windows 8.1 64 bit
    This is a new MFP that I installed today. The printer works fine wirelessly but the scanner is not located wirelessly - it is found only with the USB connection. I get the following error message when I try to use the scanner wirelessly:
    'The HP LJ M125126 Scan was not found'.
    I have done the following to troubleshoot:
    Uninstalled and reinstalled from the CD.
    Uninstalled and re-installed the full drivers from the HP website.
    Also tried the HP print and scan doctor. This says the full software solution is not installed on this computer and asks me to install the full soft ware solution which i had already done - step 2 - prior to using the scan doctor. I still keep getting the same error message.
    I would be most grateful for your help please.

    I see that you are unable to scan over the wireless network, but you can scan by a USB connection. I would like to help.
    Since you can scan by a USB connection, the software and drivers should be installed properly. There shouldn't be any issues with the Wia either.
    Temporarily turn off the Antivirus Software. Just to make sure it isn't interfering.
    If you are still having issues then check that the scanning ports on the router to make sure that they are open. You can contact the router company to check and open these ports 9220/9500/427 on the router.
    What scanning software are you using?

  • HP Laserjet PRO MFP M125nw; Wireless Driver installati​on problem in Win 8.1

    Product name : HP Laserjet PRO MFP M125nw, product nr CZ173A
    US Operating system: Dual Boot:   Win Vista home premium (32 bit) / Win 8.1 pro (32 bit)
    The printer was installed under Vista in September 2014 and was and still is wireless printing and scanning without a problem.
    Recently I tried to install the printer (wireless) under Win 8.1 and I downloaded the latest Full Feature software from HP.nl.
    During installation the software installation package could not find the printer and installation was aborted.
    I ran the printer self test / Configuration. The network Info and product info sheets were without  errors. A ping to the IP address of the printer was without a loss. The firewall indicated that HP software is accepted.
    Off course I read everything on HP about this problem I followed every advice and repeatedly gave it a try. I even installed the usb cable solution ( USB was working ok) followed by your change connection instructions, but all in vain.
    To my surprise HP was able to find my printer when I checked on http:// www.hp.com/cgi-bin/hpsupport/index.pl. However the printer was found in my local network as a HP Laserjet Pro M1132 multifunctional printer with product nr stars 3NW-01 which is not correct, however the found serie nr. of CNB7G3RC78 was correct.
    The print and scan doctor made some changes to the software and after that I was able to print wirelessly, however the Scan doctor button did not react at all and using the program was not possible further. Starting the program again gave the same result.
    Conclusion:       In Vista: HP wireless print and HP wireless Scan is working fine
                            In Win 8.1: HP wireless print is OK, HP wireless Scan cannot be installed !????
                            In Win 8.1: Windows Printer driver and Win Fax& Scan driver both wireless working ok
    Remark: Reading the display is difficult in dim lit areas. The on / off button is brightly lit and this light should be used to enlighten the display instead.
    A solution for the scanning problem would be appreciated.

    I understand you're experiencing driver issues. I'd like to help!
    I would suggest Uninstalling the Printer Software.
    Once it is uninstalled, I would suggest putting your system into clean boot mode within the Microsoft configuration.  You can do so by following this document: How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
    Once the computer is in clean boot mode, I would suggest reinstalling the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M125/126 Series Full Software and Drivers.

  • ADF not working in brand new LaserJet Pro MFP M127-M128

    We recently purchased a LasertJet Pro M127-M128.  The ADF does not work consistently.  It automatically prompts to glass feed.  When we change scan feeder and insert the document to the scanner we get an error report "ADF does not contain any pages.  Insert the pages and rescan."  There are already pages in the scanner. This is very frustrating.  I do not want to return this device but if we can't solve the problem we have no choice.  Thank you!

    I would like to work with you today with resolving the automatic document feeder issues that you're experiencing on your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fw. By the sounds of what you're describing, it does sound like you're experiencing a paper sensor issue with the automatic document feeder. To confirm this, can you remove all the paper from your automatic document feeder and with the printer at its normal screen insert 1 sheet into the feeder. The printer should make a 'ding' noise or display 'original' or 'document loaded' on the screen of the printer. Should none of these things happen than the paper sensor is not 'seeing' pages in the feeder and will not attempt to feed anything.  I'm going to provide some troubleshooting steps to resolve this automatic document feeder issue.  First, can you please run through the following HP Support document. The document does indicate the it is for a Paper Jam error, which I know you're not experiencing. However, it is always a good idea to check the automatic document feeder for any packaging debris or paper.  'Original Jam: Clear jam, and then press OK'  Once you check the automatic document feeder for debris and ensure that nothing is stuck in the mechanism, proceed with the next steps. Clean the pickup rollers and separation pad in the document feeder:
     1. Lift the document-feeder input tray. 2. Use a moist, lint-free cloth to wipe both pickup rollers and the separation pad to remove dirt. CAUTION: Do not use abrasives, acetone, benzene, ammonia, ethyl alcohol, or carbon tetrachloride on any part of the product; these can damage the product. Do not place liquids directly on the glass or platen. They might seep and  damage the product. 3. Once dry, close the document-feeder input tray. Load 1 piece of paper in the automatic document feeder. Ensure the paper guides are adjusted and the feeder lid is closed tight. Does the product detect paper loaded now?  If the printer still fails to recognize paper as loaded in the feeder a reset may be needed.  Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting.     Hi, From page #38 of the manual: Scan by using the HP Scan software (Windows)
    Use the HP Scan software to initiate scanning from software on your computer. You can save the scanned image as a file or send it to another software application.
    1. Load the document on the scanner glass according to the indicators on the product.
    NOTE: For best results, load small-size paper (Letter, A4, or smaller) with the long edge of the paper along the left side of the scanner glass.
    2. Click Start, and then click Programs (or All Programs in Windows XP).
    3. Click HP, and then select your product.
    4. Click HP Scan, select a scanning shortcut, and then adjust the settings if necessary.
    5. Click Scan.
    NOTE: Click Advanced Settings to gain access to more options.
    Click Create New Shortcut to create a customized set of settings and save it in the list of shortcuts. Regards.

    May I kindly ask if there is a download location for the HP Scan Software for the HP LaserJet Pro MFP m125nw as the unit didn't come with a CD.
    On the product page there is a driver listed for Windows XP, but the actual Software is not available for download.

    My HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw cannot scan or copy. Screen on the printer just show calibrating only
    Bsically an't scan or copy, the printer is just showing a message on the display of "calibrating".

    Hi @Ern88 , I can help you with not being able to scan or copy. The printer is showing that it is stuck calibrating.
    I would do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
    Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
    Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
    This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
    Try to make a copy again.

    Be sure to seect HP Scan while installing the software:

  • Scanning with HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fn

    Hello everyone,
    I installed my printer HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fn on a network. I am able to print from many different computers, but I can not scan. On computer where I want to install scanner I am using Ubuntu 12.04. I tried to use "Simple scan" and "Xsane", but these programs did not recognize scanner.

    I have provided the URL for doing a firmware update on the printer, but do it through a USB connection. Since the printer is in a error state though, it might not detect the printer to do the update. HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw.
    Select your operating system, click  Submit, click the link for firmware and then click on the Download button.
    I have provided some steps to try to see if we can resolve this issue.
    Disconnect the USB/Network/FAX and power the printer on Standalone.
    Check and remove any packaging material inside the printer and toner.
    Do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue, if you haven't already.
    Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
    Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
    This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
    If the issue persists, perform a power drain by disconnecting the power cord from the back of the printer and keeping the power button pressed for 30 seconds and in case of a power switch keep the switch in ON position for 30 seconds before reconnecting the power chord.

  • Un able to install Scan to Email app on Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw

    Hello!
    I recently purchased  Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw as my home printer.
    Main thing i was looking for was Scan to Email feature.
    As I read in specifications provided in this product description I see:

    Digital sending standard features: Scan to E-mail by HP SW; scan to application by HP SW ; scan to file by HP SW
    Once I try to install Scan to Email app i get following message once i try to install app:
    What is wrong, that i cannot install app that was one of main choice points of this printer.
    TWAIN and using computer scanning process is clear, so no need instructions how to scan using computer.
    I especially need fucntion that i scan document on printer, then enter email and its emailed.

    There are a numerous ways to scan and email from your printer. Please go through the below links.
    Make sure you have installed the software driver for your printer on your machine and then follow any of the methods to scan and email.
