Wireless setup for Mac Pro OSX 10.9.4 for HP Deskjet 3054 J610

HP Deskjet 3054 J610, need to know how to set it up on a wireless network.  The HP installer disk I have says this verison not supported.  I cannot find a newer version.
The printer worked on old Imac and a different network.  The network now is a Verizon jetpack 4G LTE and a Mac Pro Laptop.  USB connection does work.
I have reset the printer to defalt.  However I am unable to find a way to tell the printer what network to use.  The Apple printer software does not give me a way to do this.

  • How best to setup a Mac Pro with two hard drives for 1st hard drive or OS failure?

My first Apple, a Mac Pro,  is to arrive on Monday (1/7).  I will be putting Win7 on Bootcamp and installing Parrallels.  It will have two 1T hard drives.   I would appreciate
any advice on how best to set it up for best recovery in case of a hard drive or OS crash.   You can tell I have experience with Windows.    It looks like my best choices are
either disk cloning software or just installing OS X from the recovery disk  on the second drive.   Apple says it is legal to do another installation.   I know the disk cloning will not work on the bootcamp partition which I plan to use for the Parallels program.  Can OS X have an option to boot from two differnet disks and OS installs?
What I am really wanting to do in the event of a crash,  is to just boot up on the other disk and keep working.     I try to keep data on a separate partition  with backups so
that a disk or OS crash doesn't cause any data loss.

    I do not use windows.
However on my Mac Pro for cloning/backups/bootable backups i use Carbon Copy Cloner.
It has an ability to clone entire disk (unless specified differently) so I can boot from another disk or restore back if I want to.

  • GeForce 7300 GT Upgrade Kit for Mac Pro?? G5?

    Hi,
Just found this on the apple store:
    http://store.apple.com/Apple/WebObjects/ukstore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=1643C421&nplm=M A567
"NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT Graphics Upgrade Kit for Mac Pro"
Why is it only for mac pro? its PCI express & my g5 is one of the late 2005 models and it has PCI Express so am i wrong in thinking that this should work fine or is it something to do with the new intel architecture?
If i remember correctly i could have chosen this card or a very similar one when i configured my G5.
    Thanks

That card is only for the Mac Pro, as it says.
When you ordered your G5, you had the choice of the nVidia 6600 (or 6600LE), nVidia 7800GT, or the Quadro FX 4500.
The 7800GT that you could have ordered with your G5 is close in performance to the ATi X1900XT that is an option on the Mac Pro. The 7300GT that you're looking at is an entry level card, which the 7800GT definitely is not.
The 7300GT and the X1900XT are both Mac Pro only due to the ROM on the card, which is designed to work with the EFI booting hardware that the Mac Pro uses. The G5s used Open Firmware, which requires a different ROM on the video card. So, even though both your G5 and the Mac Pro are PCI-Express based, these video cards are not compatible.
Now, most PCI-Express cards that you look at for, say, external SATA, will probably work in both the G5 and the Mac Pro. You'd still want to check the specs to be sure, however.
If you're looking for a new video card to replace your (presumably) nVidia 6600, your only real option is the ATi X1900 G5 edition. This is a different card than the X1900XT that's offered for the Mac Pro.

  • Printer wireless for Mac Pro and  I pad.?

Need to get a printer wireless for Mac Pro  also can be use with the IPad  this is possible? Thank  you

Any of the current HP e-Print capable printers support AirPrint capabilities without even having to enable the e-Print stuff that's purely HP.
Also, make sure your exisiting network router at home supports multicast protocols.  The majority of retail routers support this and you won't have issues, but I've run into problems with carrier issued modem/router combo units from Comcast made by Arris that don't support multicast and other protocols and hence, will not allow for the necessary discovery protocols for AirPrint to work across the wired or wireless network.  In cases like that, the fix is to place those units in "bridge mode" and then use your own router behind it that doesn't restrict that capability.  Just FYI.

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive & clear caches.)
Try trashing them in Safe Mode, reply if that doesn't help.

  • Can I connect screen wireless to the Mac Pro?

    Hello,
My name is Ben and I am a frequent Mac user.
I'm looking in to buying a new Mac Pro and I was wondering if it was possible to connect screens wireless? That way I would use the Mac Pro as an external server and instal my screens in different rooms throughout the house.
    Thank you.
    Dear regards,
    Ben

I would like to setup the Mac Pro in one room with a screen attached to it with a cable. In an other room I would like to have just a screen that uses the Mac pro as computer and storage space.
I am talking about Apple 27' inch screens .

  • Raid 5 Card for Mac Pro

    Hello all!
I am a video editor and am currently building my own system out.. I am on my last step of upgrades now and I need to build a RAID. At work we have the huge fiber channel RAID 5's, but this is for my personal use. So what I want to do is get the High-Point Rocket 2310 card and create and internal RAID 5. I just hate having backup procedures so I think this will offer me exactly what I need. But I just can't figure out how people hook these things up????? I have all 4 drive bays maxed out with 1TB drives. I want to put 3 of them on the card but I don't see how I can connect them to the back of the card via a sata cable if they "plug" into the slots on the mac pro. How do I connect these 3 drives to the card?? I just can't find out anywhere online Does the Raid card access the drives through the PCI slot?? any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks all!

    Hi,
I cannot recommend using an internal RAID 5. The reason is that it will provide slow performance and limit the expansion capability of the RAID 5 volume and the Mac Pro.
While RAID 5 adds redundancy, there is no guarantee that the volume can be rebuilt. You still will need to backup any important data. If you thought that RAID 5 eliminates the need for a backup you will not be happy when the RAID 5 volume cannot be rebuilt and all of your data is lost.
The problem with a three drive RAID 5 is that one disk is used for parity data. This only leaves the space of two disks for creating the volume. Even if three 1TB HDs are used you are limited to approx. 1.8TB with a three disk RAID 5 and the performance is limited to a dual drive RAID 0. If your requirements are this meager you will be better off with a dual drive RAID 0 and a SuperDuper Backup disk in bay three. This will provide higher redundancy and is much cheaper.
If you really want a RAID 5 configuration, I would use an external solution which can provide room for expansion and much higher performance. This setup allows the internal Mac Pro bays to be used for Mac OS X, Boot Camp, importing data and backing up data. While the external enclosure supports the RAID 5 volume.
The setup I like for an external RAID 5 solution is the FirmTek SeriTek/5PM enclosure used with the HighPoint RR2314. This provides a five disk RAID 5 solution that has a small foot print, quiet operation and a high quality enclosure. You can read more about it here:
    http://www.amug.org/amug-web/html/amug/reviews/articles/firmtek/5pm/

    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000NAXGIU/arizomacinusergr
If you do not mind spending more you could configure a RAID 6 ARC-1680ix-12 configuration using the information found in this AMUG article:
    http://www.amug.org/amug-web/html/amug/reviews/articles/areca/1680ix12/
However, if you are looking for a high quality RAID 5 solution that is reasonably priced I find the SeriTek/5PM and the RR2314 are an excellent choice.
    Have fun!

  • I have a new Mac Pro.  I want to use my old Mac Pro as a storage drive for photos and old documents, linked to my new Mac Pro.  How do I set up the old computer?

I have a new Mac Pro.  I want to use my old Mac Pro as a storage drive for photos and old documents, linked to my new Mac Pro.  How do I set up the old computer?  Both computers have OS X10.9.3.  Currently they are connected by a Firewire 800 cable.

You certainly could keep the old Mac Pro in Firewire mode (hold down the T key on its keyboard as you boot) to show its drives on the new MP. This is basically as fast as putting the drives into a Firewire enclosure.
Or you could boot it normally and share its files over the network using the Sharing panel of System Preferences. If you turn on both File and Screen Sharing, you don't even need to have a monitor attached - you can do all administration using screen sharing. However, this method requires that you open all files over the network, which will be slower than the direct-connect method above, and may also not work with all applications.

  • ATI 5770 1GB Video Card For Mac Pro dvi hdmi cable

I am sending video signal over a 50FT HDMI To DVI from my Mac Pro (3,1) via ATI 5770 1GB Video Card For Mac Pro (5.0 GT/s) (181062917108) and I cannot get a constant signal to my TV. The signal stays on for a few seconds or several hours or my TV (Samsung) says there is no signal or I get just a gray static screen.
I never had a problem before with my previous video card the 512MB nVidia GeForce 8800GT with a 25ft long cable. Any ideas people?

A cable of about 5 meters (16 ft) can be manufactured to Category 1 specifications easily and inexpensively by using 28 AWG (0.081 mm²) conductors.[114] With better quality construction and materials, including 24 AWG (0.205 mm²) conductors, an HDMI cable can reach lengths of up to 15 meters (49 ft).[114]
    from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI
You may need a higher-quality cable or a lower resolution for your display to make this work without an HDMI Repeater.

  • "fire wire" video capture cards for mac pro

....Have Power Mac ver. 10.9.5 system Maverick w/ 4 MB RAM & am trying to locate hardware for:
acquiring "FIRE WIRE" video capture cards for mac pro.... ? Any suggestions....?(Just purchased Adobe CS 5 premium)

Your question doesn't make much sense.
What type of Mac Pro do you have? Is it the new black cylinder or the old style silver tower?
Firewire is built-in to the old models & the new Mac Pros can use Thunderbolt to Firewire converters to capture from Firewire sources.
    Maybe like this http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD464ZM/A/apple-thunderbolt-to-firewire-adapte r
Many older cameras used Firewire for capturing, but that has been replaced by other connection types. What are you trying to capture from?

  • Reviews for ATI Radeon HD 4870 Graphics Upgrade Kit for Mac Pro?

There's no review at the Apple Store on this [ATI Radeon HD 4870 Graphics Upgrade Kit for Mac Pro (Early 2009 or Early 2008)|http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB999ZM/A?fnode=MTY1NDA5OQ&mco=NDE4NDMx OA]. Googled and found nothing related to the Mac kit. Mostly PC based.
Should I consider this card? I need a spare/replacement graphics card for my Mac Pro (early 2008). The NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT card has failed me twice.

    Just came out on barefeats:
    http://www.barefeats.com/nehal14.html
Shows new drivers with 285, also compares 4870.
If you play a lot of games on the windows side, you might also want to consider the 4890. I has recently became flashable (if you're into that kinda thing). It has a lot more leeway to be overclocked. Close to (or if your lucky) hitting the 1 Ghz core clock speed, gives very close comp to the 285, and at fraction of the price. You can get an XFX 4890 on newegg for $195.
