Wireless slow with Xbox 360 Madcatz adapter

I have just had Infinity installed yesterday and all is fine with my laptop and speeds, however, my sons Xbox 360 is connected via a Madcatz wireless adapter and he is experiecing lag since the conversion.
I connected the router as soon as it arrived through the post and the connection was ok then, but since the engineer converted the line to Infinity, it has now gone slow.
Anyone got any suggestions?

I had the same problem the other day.  Xbox360 will not pass the security for WPA....I called the Linksys help desk and the guy was great...I had to change my settings for the router to be WEP with a passcode and then the Xbox360 wireless adapter would work.....When you set-up the router I'm sure you were like me and put the hightest security, which does not allow xbox360 wireless to pass through...Change to WEP with a passcode....Then it worked like a charm...

Use the LAN port and cable. That way you'll get no interference and great data transfer. Or this maybe helps. http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/connecttolive/xbox360/homenetworking/equipment.htm

    Hey kole71,
That particular model of Plantronics is compatible for PC gaming but not Xbox 360. Plantronics does have some headsets that work with 360, and I've attached a PDF of the chart found on their website. Hope that helps!

  • Airport extreme connecting with xbox 360 wireless adapter problems...help!!

Has anyone linked their xbox 360 wireless adapter to an Airport Extreme? I need help! Neither Apple nor Microsoft knew how to link the two devices. If anyone has successfully been able to make this work, your help will be much appreciated. Thanks guys

Yes - Mine works no problem. I have found that I have to unplug the Xbox360 wireless adaptor and plug it back in occasionally (if the green light is on everything is fine). Are you using the correct WPA Key?

I just installed a new WRT350N - all my computers connect just fine - my XBox wireless adapter will not connect.  Is there a compatibility issue?

Make sure that your wireless security is not set to WPA2. The XBOX 360 wireless adapter does not support it. You need to use WPA or WEP.

  • WRT54GX4 Wireless Router and Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter

I just got an Xbox 360 with a Wireless Networking Adapter.  The adapter will recognize the network, but won't connect to it.  Even if I remove the security, the Xbox 360 won't connect.  Is there something else via the router I'm supposed to be doing?  I called Microsoft and they said to open the port settings, but I don't know if that's really the issue and I don't know how to do that if I need to.
The ports they gave me were:
    TCP 80
    UDP 88
    UDP 3074
    TCP 3074
    UDP 53
    TCP 53
Thanks for any help if you can.

  • NEED HELP! Connecting Airport Extreme wirelessly to an Xbox 360!

    Hi there,
I just purchased an Apple Airport Extreme 3 days ago and I can't get it to fully work with my XBox 360 with the official wirelessly networking adapter. I've spent the last 2 days trying every conceivable option and setup to get these devices to work.... but can't. When I turn on my Xbox it DOES connect to Xbox Live and the wireless network created by the airport. I do the "Test Xbox Live" thing, and everything comes back "Confirmed" or "Okay", I can search marketplace and download game demos and such. But whenever I go to play a game on Xbox Live it say it "can't connect to server" or "no games found" etc.... I've tried this with 4 games; Halo 3, Halo 2, Gears of War, and Call of Duty 3 - and I can't play on Xbox Live with any of them. They did work fine like 10 days ago on an old D-link router I had before it broke, but now I have NO IDEA what the ** is going on. I've tried everything - I've set the router to b/g only, turned off all security, manually set the IP address on the xbox, etc... and I still can't play any games on live. I know my Xbox live subscription is still good and I've downloaded all the latest updates and firmware for my Xbox, router, and computer - and still nothing works. So any help out there would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!
    John

Hello John Groshko. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
Unfortunately, the AirPorts are not listed as Xbox Live-compatible routers.
The following web blog does a great job explaining the NAT issues with Xbox Live. Basically what it comes down to is that although you can get an Internet connection for the Xbox or Xbox 360 with the AirPorts, you may not get the necessary NAT setting (Moderate or Open) for the Xbox Live game that you want to play.

  • Creating wireless network (& connecting Xbox 360)

    Hello,
I have an iMac G5 and a newly acquired Xbox 360..unfortunately both are in sperate rooms.
I have a Sppedtouch USB modem and would like to create a wireless network, so I could access Xbox Live downstairs.
Any recommendations on a router (?) and also would Xbox Live be available if the iMac wasn't turned on?
I apologise in advance for my lack of knowldge!
    Thanks in advance,
    Ben

No , you have to run ethernet cable from your modem to the router .. and then it has 4 wired access PORTS for you to plug your systems in with ethernet (or , since you want to run the 360 from downstairs , wirelessly) . You dont have Ethernet on the iMac or modem ? i thought they came with gigabyte ethernet . If you can't get to it with ethernet and need usb , you need a different model router which i'm sure someone else in here will have info on for you .
    cheers

  • Time Capsule with Xbox 360

    Fellow Apple Enthusiasts,
I have a bit of a dilemma in that I live in a house that has my wireless router is far away from my xbox 360. I am trying to get xbox live working on my xbox and have a Time Capsule to do that. Is there any way I can connect my TC to my xbox using an ethernet cord, then have my TC act as a wireless router to my wireless router? I am looking to avoid getting the $60 xbox wireless adapter or lining a 100ft ethernet cord to the wireless base station.
    Thanks

Is there any way I can connect my TC to my xbox using an ethernet cord, then have my TC act as a wireless router to my wireless router?
If the other router is another TC or AirPort Extreme or Express, then yes. If not, your other option would be to consider using Powerline adapters. These adapters take advantage of your home's electrical circuit to create a pseudo Ethernet one. You can then place an adapter at the location of each router.

  • Wireless PC to XBOX 360?

I've been doing some research on this subject, however I have had no luck performing this task after hours and hours of trying Basically I have a PC in my room with a wireless net connection (using the linksys speedbooster router) and it recieves a signal by the USB connection that came with it (its a little usb reciever). I have been told that you need a crossover cable (which I have) and run it from the PC to the xbox. However, the other step to this is enabling Internet Connection Sharing (by clicking properties in the wireless connection, advance tab). This is the problem .. I have no option for that in the wireless connection tab, only firewall settings. Is this because I am using a usb reciever for the signal and not an ethernet card? The xbox finds the wired connection, but fails the IP address test. Any help?

    Hi..
As you already have a router, there is no need for you to do Internet Connection Sharing.  What you can do is connect the XBOX 360 directly to the router using the Ethernet cable. Set XBOX to obtain an IP address automatically and then check the connection it should work

  • WRT54G Issues with Xbox 360

Okay, I got this Wireless router so that my family could get more then one computer eventually. Now we only have one computer still but we have added an Xbox 360 to our network recently. However, the version 6 that we bought is not on xbox 360 compatible router list and encounters some problems. Namely that it causes some of my friends games to be unjoinable and doesn't allow chatting with them. I need to figure out how to get this router to be able to work at full efficiency with my 360 or else I will constantly be hooking and unhooking the DSL cable and directly connecting to my modem. I'm curious if running it as a router instead of a gateway may help with this. I'm also curious if anyone has already fixed this problem. Any more data needed by you I will gladly provide. Oh, also, the ISP is Windstream.

Hey very first thing you need to be able to go Online using the DSL modem with the router & the pc.Also, the firmware should be latest then you will be able to do the wireless & advancedc wireless settings & now connect the XBOX to be connected to the router & for XBOX settings... Please click on the tab "Application and gaming" and click on sub tab "Port range forwarding" 1) On the first line in Application box type in "Xbox", in start box type in 88, in end box type in 88, in protocol keep it both, in ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and give a check mark on enable box. 2) On the second line in Application box type in "Xbox", in start box type in 3074, in end box type in 3074, in protocol keep it both, in ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and give a check mark on enable box. 3) Now save the settings 4) Once you return to the setup page, click on the tab "Administration" and disable the UPNP and save the settings. 5) Now assign the given ip address on your xbox ip address :- 192.168.1.20 subnet mask :- 255.255.255.0 default gateway :- 192.168.1.1 Please assign the dns address on the xbox primary dns :- 4.2.2.2 secondary dns :- 192.168.1.1 6) Please try to test your xbox live & you will be able to play the games on the XBOX live.
