Do you mean you entered 3 characters to generate your WEP key? A WEP 28 key is normally represented as a string of 26 hexadecimal digits (valid hexadecimal digits are 0 through F, where decimal is 0 through 9). You may enter a passphrase to generate your hex key, that's what I did on my Netgear router, but then the actual WEP key shows up in my Key field in the router setup as a string of 26 hex digits. If you just enter 3 regular characters this represents a string of 26 hex numbers. Here's some examples of ASCII character to hex conversions; the letter -lower case "g" is a hex "67", a space " " is a hex "20", a upper case "L" is a hex "4C". It is the string of 26 hex digits that must be entered into the wireless music setup for WEP 28.

  • Soundblaster Wireless Music - receiver is connected but no so

I have a SB Wireless music receiver (purchased in March '05).
It was working just fine for 3 months, then nothing. After several attempts reistalling, rebooting, etc (including several emails back and forth with Creative Americas Cusotmer Support, it was determined that my receiver might be defecti've. I was given an RMA#, I returned the receiver (under warranty), and got it back yesterday.
I am experiencing the SAME problem I was experiencing before I sent it in (see below).
My wireless receiver IS DEFINTITELY communicating through my wireless router, as I can clearly see my library, playlists, etc. on the RF remote display. When I try to play music, I can access my library, playlists, etc. I select a track and hit the play button. Everything shows up on the remote display, but the counter is not counting, e.g. 00:00:00 is displayed in the upper left hand corner of the RF, and consequently, I get no sound from my stereo, and yes, it IS connected correctly via the RCA cables.
Any suggestions? And thanks in advance,
    Chris

  • TouchSmart 320 wireless USB receiver

Setup instructions for the TouchSmart 320-1030 state a wireless USB receiver is needed for the wireless keyboard/mouse but none was found in packaging. Is a USB receiver needed or is the receiver built in?

    Hello Dsnow:
Yes it is needed and if look behind your Touch Smart at the bottom you will see its usb port where it goes. It may be located there all ready just remove tape and push it in. It is very small and might be still in the packageing. Contact HP Direct Support if you do not have it. They will send you a new one takes up to three days because they will Federal Expres it. Your computer came with one warranty and that is covered.

  • LOST USB WIRELESS NANO RECEIVER INSIDE OF COMPUTER

When inserting usb wireless nano receiver on the back of the screen on a touch smart computer.  I let loose of it and it fell inside of the computer.  I can't see it or know how to retreive it and am afraid to leave it there.  Can someone tell me how to find it and how to get the back off to retreive it.  Thank you.

To start this sounds like a computer issue and you are on a printer forum, but I think I can still help. You should be able to remove one of the sides of your desktop tower with a screwdriver and access the internal compartment. Here you should be able to retreive that piece.
Let me know how this goes and I wil get right back in touch with you!

  • Hot Shoe Adapter & Wireless Remote Receiver

I am currently trying to set up a photo booth, with a strobe and a Canon 70D. The 70D does not have a PC sync port, so I have to use a hot shoe adapter to connect the camera to the strobe. No problem there.
But I also want to set up a wireless shutter release remote, one that does not require direct line of sight (I'm planning on getting the one at http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/749989-REG/Vello_RW_C1_FreeWave_Wireless_Remote_Shutter.html).
I don't know anything about this. Can my hot shoe adapter for the strobe work along with this remote receiver? Or do they both require the same spot on the camera?
Thanks SO much to anyone who can help!

  • Wireless Gaming Receiver (Receiver Xbox for pc)

This receiver is not working on windows 8 because I found the driver on the official website is incompatible microsoft (windows 7 version). I wonder if you have any solution for installing this hardware?

    Okay, I figured out how.
    Windows 8 users only :
1st. Point the mouse to the top/bottom right of your screen. Click on the search tab.
2nd. In the search tab, type in devmgmt.msc. One choice should come up. Click on it.
3rd. It will open a window on the desktop called "Device Manager". Go down and open up "Other Devices", and inside it should be one called "Unknown device". Right click on it and click update driver.
4th. Choose the "Browse my computer for driver software.
5th. Click on "Let me pick ----". Scroll all the way down to "Xbox 360 Peripherals", click it and click next.
6th. It gathers the list of all possible devices. Don't choose anything from the list. Just hit next.
7th. It will say a warning, but don't worry about it. Just hit yes.
Your done! You may now close out of the device manager program and continue to connect your controller and play the heck out of some games. Hope this helped and worked. If not, email me at [email protected] and I will help you if you provide more detail.

  • Wireless soundblaster rem

I am looking into getting wireless speakers so that I can listen to my music around the house and use the SBWM rf remote to control my music but the range of the remote is apparently only up to 0m. Is this correct and does anyone know how to increase the range?

no. it doesn't. I have just bought one and tried the same thing. The spec says it plays mp3 320kbit files.

  • External Soundblaster/MIDI Quest

    Hello,
I have a desktop that has SB Audigy Audio [B400], and I enjoy its MIDI playback abilities. I also have a laptop, but it only has a hardware soundcard, and therefore it is unable to play MIDI music with excellent quality. I was told that the Extigy is an external soundcard, and it would be able to replicate my desktop's MIDI playback on my laptop. Is this true? Would I hear the same quality of MIDI on my laptop as I do now on my desktop? Or is there an even better product that could play better quality MIDI than my desktop's soundcard?Thank you very much,Homer

When you mention 'no sound when doing conversation' do you mean the part where you burn to CD or when recording from the cassette player? Are you able to record properly and save as wave file to the computer? It's normal that you will not hear anything from from the laptop speaker cos the Li've! card are not linked to them. Only your onboard audio from the laptop will be using those builtin speaker. If you wanted to hear audio from the Li've! card then you will have to connect headphone/speaker to the Li've! card.

  • Macbook Pro makes wireless for iMac G3 + wireless receiver

First a situation sketch of my setup:
My Macbook Pro is connected with an ethernet cable to the internet cable modem. The sharing settings is set to share the internet from the ethernet port over airport. The internet shared through Airport is spreading out IP addresses using the 10.0.1.2.
The iMac has a wireless internet receiver (Belkin Wireless G Adapter, Serial: F5D7330) connected to it and working.
Now I wanna know how I can set-up the iMac G3 (Tiger) to receive the signal from the Wireless adapter that it gets from the shared Airport internet signal. It seems that right now the signal is not ported to the iMac G3 as it should be. The Airport is not protected with any password or key, so the Wireless adapter can receive the signal without problem.
The lights on the Wireless adapter are blinking, but the iMac G3 doesn't get any internet signal.
What can be the problem here? I already tried accessing the web-based interface of the adapter, but I can't seem to access it through the iMac.

Then I think the issue is with the Belkin F5D7330. It is a gaming adaptor. Connecting the Wireless G Gaming Adapter adds wireless capability to your Xbox®, PlayStation®, or GameCube™
You need an airport card in the iMac. So again. Why don't you simplify your life and get a wireless router? Hardwire the iMac to the router and when you come over you use the wireless.

  • Soundblaster Wireless setup prob

This is driving me nuts as I have had this problem since I bought the **bleep** thing 2 years ago but apparently the problem doesnt officially exist..
In trying to alter the network settings, I go through all the steps, the program attempts to communicate with the device and just comes back with "communication error".
It's not a cable problem, it doesnt appear to be a firewall / security problem - I can do this a few dozen times and it will suddenly spontaneously work - although on this occasion I've so far racked up about 60 attempts and it still just wont change settings..
    Any suggestions?

I had the same problem until I set up a DHCP reservation for the Wireless Music receiver.

  • How can I get a video signal using IMAC 27 with only mini display port. I like to send the signal wireless to a TV using a TV/audio transmit system.

I have an IMAC 27 with a mini display port ( only this). I also have all the adapters ( mini display port to VGA, HDMI...).
Since I moved to UAE I like to transmit the signal frm my IMAC ( where I also look German TV on) to my TV. I will do so by using a wireless Transmit receive system with theree cinch inputs ( transmit system ( video, 2x voice).
The distance to the TV IS ABOUT 10m and one wall. I don`t want to use a cable.
Is there any solution for example mini display to VGA + VGA adapter to cinch so I can use the transmit system?
HDMI would also be an optiekn, bat then I have to by another Transmit receive system.
If somebody made already the experience I would appreciate to share the information
Is there may be any store in UAE where to get support. It is very diificult to get good advice here. They sell everything bat can not reaaly explain and have very often  no technical knowledge. With this problem nobody until now can help me.

I don't know what AppleTV can handle as far as bit rate is concerned, but increase the bit rate as high as it will let you. You are taking DV which is 25Mb/s and compressing it. If you're making an H.264, you should get great results needing no more than 6Mb/s. Bear in mind, the higher the bit rate, the larger the file size.

  • The Wireless Radio Is Not Functioning.

when I tried to setup my C309a printer wirelessly, I received a messaje that says:  The Wireless Radio Is Not Functioning.  contact HP Support.  How Can I Fix this Problem?

Try resetting the printer.  Turn it off, hold the # and 6 keys while and a bit after turning it back on.
If the radio is still showing Not Functioning, then it is indeed bad.  You can connect your printer to your router with an Ethernet cable for the same exact network functionality.  Otherwise, its time for a new printer.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • Can I get two wireless routers to communicate in the same house?

    Hi there,
    Here's my problem.
BT (a UK telecoms company) upgraded the household telephone line to fibre optic broadband on Friday and installed their BT Home Hub router and ADSL2+ modem. However, although this is a great upgrade for the household, this has given me a heap of problems.
Previously, my Time Capsule (TC) did everything:
it handled the link to the ADSL modem that routed all the wired and wireless household traffic to the internet (there are three wireless enabled PCs in the household too)
handled the printer via USB from the TC
backed up my Mac data to the TC via wired and wireless and allowed me to transfer files between my Macs.
However, as it stands right now, since the upgrade my  MacBook Pro and iPhone will connect to the Internet via the BT Home Hub and that's it.However, I think there is a great opportunity here to isolate my office/study network from the household (a sub network?);  but, I have no idea how to set up the TC to accomplish this or whether this is even possible.
    I have:
    An Apple Time Capsule
A Mac Pro without wireless capability that connects to my TC via ethernet cable
A 13" MacBook Pro that connects to the TC via wireless
A HP printer that connects to the TC via USB cable
Also, I might need to add a Drobo NAS drive via ethernet cable
Both Macs run Lion; the firmware and software for AE/TC are up to date.
So, is there anyway that I can maintain my setup but simply use the TC as a wireless transmitter/receiver to and from the BT Home Hub for Internet traffic but keep everything else within my own network? I should also add that the BT Home Hub ended up being located downstairs and my office/study is upstairs so hard wiring the two isn't an option. The only way I can achieve my needs is to have the two routers communicating wirelessly.
To complicate matters further, I am a complete networking ignoramus - in fact I don't know what networking terminology I should be researching to accomplish this; but, if anyone can provide an answer or point me in the right direction, I'd be really grateful.
    Thanks in advance

Update: As I understand it, what I want is to configure my Time Capsule as a wireless bridge. This seems easy to do if your main base station is an Apple device, but I haven't found anything that allows you to configure the Time Capsule as a wireless bridge when the main router is not an Apple device. Any suggestions?
