Wireless Sync of 2 Blackberry Curve to same home email

My wife and I use a common email address at home via Comcast.  We want to buy two Blackberry Curves to have this primary email and calendar while on the road.  Can we sync to the same email account via wireless so we both get the email copies (or see what is on the server) without using the desktop sync system.  My understanding is desktop sync only syncs at the PC and not wireless, which seems somewhat useless when on the road.  I may have this incorrect however.  My desire is to have all Comcast Server items be sync wirelessly.
Of course, I will have to change my Comcast settings to leave emails on the server even after we open the home Outlook application and the emails download to our PST file.  My thought is the either Blackberrys could delete (manage) the email on the Comcast Server via wireless, but a second item will be downloaded to our permanent PST...if of course this is downloaded first before the Blackberrys delete the item on the comcast server.
is this possible?
New Dude

this should work, however I have never tested it. However it will ONLY work for email, and of course as long as you have outlook closed or have leave a copy on the server check marked in outlook.
as for calendar, that will have to be synced through wire, however you can do a sync while you are at home, then while you are away and create a new entry, just send an invite by email to your wife so she has it too, then sync them all when you get back

  • Sync Problems with Blackberry Curve 8310

I am also having a problem sync my new Blackberry Curve 8310.   I previously had a Palm Treo 650.   I was finally able to sync the contacts from my Palm to my Blackberry.   I am assuming just like the Palm Treo software I can also view the contacts on my desktop, but I have not been able to view the contacts on the Blackberry Desktop Manager software.    Where do I view this information, that I might have downloaded, there is now tab for the software that allows me to manager my contacts and my calender.
I use Outlook express for my emails is there any way I can make the Outlook Express the primary software on my desktop for managing my contacts and my calender and being able to sync to my Blackberry.

Hi and welcome to the forums!
DM is not like the Palm Desktop in that there is no set of visual organizers (calendar-contacts-tasks-memos) to see.  DM serves to sync your data between the BB and another desktop application.
Here is a listing of the apps supported by the various versions of DM. http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB12268&slic...
When I migrated over from my Treo 650, the Switch Device Wizard did not work.  As a workaround, I sync'd my Palm with Outlook 2003.  To do this I had to use the original cd that came with my Treo to change the conduits so the Palm Desktop sync'd with Outlook.  Not sure if I needed to use the cd to do this, I think you can change those setting in Palm Desktop, but make sure to map the fields well so your data imports into Outlook as you want it.  (The fields are a little different between Palm and Outlook).  ALWAYS make sure you get a good sync of your Palm data before doing any of this.  That way you'll have the data in the Palm Desktop as a backup.
Once I had the data sync'd to Outlook, I just had to set up the synchronization setting on DM to sync over to my BB.
Post back if you have any further questions.  Let us know how it goes.

  • My gf is borrowing an iPhone and theres a few odd things setup on it regarding wireless syncing and something under SMS with a receiving email address. I was wondering if msgs she is sending or even receiving would be going to this address.

Another odd thing I just this second found is it looks like the phone is setup to wirelessly sync to a designated laptop as soon as it is discovered in the network. Any help or suggestion on how to stop this?

  • Blackberry Curve 8330 and Exchange Email??

Just got a Blackberry Curve 8330 and was hoping I could use it to get my corporate email.  We are using Exchange SP2 behind an ISA 2006 firewall and OWA is using a self-signed certificate for SSL.  When I attempt to setup this email on my Curve it can not connect to the Exchange server.  I was told that the Blackberry could use OWA to connect, but I am guessing either the ISA server or the self-signed certificate for OWA is causing the problem.  I really love the phone and don't want to have to swap it for something else because of this issue.

Ok, well first things first, Does your company have a Blackberry Enterprise Server with their exchange??
If they do, u need to have a Blackberry Enterprise plan on your service and you can connect straight to their BES/Exchange.
If they don't have a BB server, you will need to create a pop3 email to link to your device, and have your company forward all your exchange email to your pop3 email.
This is so large companys must 'pay' a few grand to host a Blackberry server and thus have the email all go through fine..
If your company does not wish to do this, you must sneak around it the 'Blackberry Internet Solution' way...
If your issue is resolved, put a checkmark in the green box that contains the resolution.

  • Blackberry Curve won't send emails

I am getting a message that says General Failure when I try to send an email. This JUST started happening today--about the same time my car broke down --I can recieve email, but cannot send. Tried restarting my phone....no luck.

Oh no, it sounds like you had a bad day!!
Blackberry devices can be a little tricky. I'm wondering if you got the error
General send failure: please try again
If so, you may need to remove the battery for 5 seconds, place it back in the phone & try again. If that doesn't work, the next step would be to register the Host Routing Table again. You can do this by going to Options>Advanced>Host Routing Table>press Blackberry menu key>Register Now
The great thing about Blackberry's is that if you ever get an error message on the phone, from a computer, you can go to
http://us.blackberry.com/support/devices/  select your device, type in the message you are getting in the ASK QUESTION box and you will get the steps to resolve the error.

  • Why wont iTunes wirelessly sync with my iPhone 5?

Hi, I was wondering if somebody could help me.
I have an iPhone 5, I am running the latest version of iTunes on my iMac and my iPhone is displayed on iTunes. It is ticked to wirelessly sync. Both devices connect to my home wifi. However more often than not when I want to wirelessly sync some new podcasts or music to my iPhone (I tick what I want and then click apply) a box appears and says "looking for iPhone" it does this for a minute or two before presenting me with a message that says something along the lines of "the info could not be backed up as the device could not be found". My iPhone then disappears from iTunes and will not reappear until I connect it via USB. Once I disconnect the USB my iPhone stays listed on iTunes until I try to wirelessly sync again. Similarly if I try to sync my iPhone from the phone to iTunes it just says "look for iMac" until eventually giving up.
I had an iPhone 4 before the 5 and it was set up in exactly the same way using the same version of iTunes the same iMac and over the same wifi and that worked first time every time. I have also tried quitting iTunes and restarting my iPhone.
Sorry for waffling on but its becoming slightly annoying and I was hoping someone could help.
    Cheers
    MrTrav15

I am having the same issue. Since updating to iTunes 11 my iPhone 5 will no longer wirelessly sync. I am operating the latest version of Mountain Lion on a two month old Macbook Pro. When I plug in the USB I go through the steps of making sure the box is clicked to Wireslly sync, but after a few minutes of un-plugging the cord my phone dissapears from my devices. It tries to locate it, but cannot.
Furthermore, when I launched iTunes 11 for the first time my phone was synced, but since I accidenttly hit the eject button in the top right, this button has yet to come back. Even when the iPhone is linked via USB. Am I Crazy, stupid, or is this a bug?
BTW, how did MrTrav15 have this problem on 10/17 a month-and-a-half before the launching of iTunes 11?

  • BB 8520 Curve Wireless Sync of Calendar and Contact not working

    --- REPOST ---
    BB Model: 8520 Curve
    OS: 5.0.0.681
    Network: Mobilink - Pakistan
Can any one help me out, how I can get wireless sync working on my BlackBerry.
I have two emails accounts setup 1. [email protected] and 2. [email protected]  where mydomain.com email is also hosted on gmail. I receive emails on both account and able to send as well.
None of these account contact and calendar are being sync. Previously when GoogleSync app was available I was using that, since Google has discontinued this app, so I have removed the app.
In calendar on device, I can see both the calendars and Wireless Synchronization: YES, but no update in either side i.e. If I create any entry on mobile it doesn't show on web or any new entry on web, doesn't show on device.
Very Important: If I access setup on device I don't see Contacts and Calendar under syncronization, however both options are visible if I use https://mobilink.blackberry.com/ to setup/edit email.
Looking forward your expert advise to solve this issue.
    Thanks

  • Mac OS 10.9.1(Maverick) + Blackberry Desktop Software 2.4.0 build 18 and Blackberry Curve 9320 - unable to sync Mac contacts nor calendars

    this is so frustrating!
I upgraded to mac OS 10.9.1 a few months ago.  I can no longer sync my mac contacts nor calendars onto my Blackberry Curve - this is my business phone.
I've hunted and hunted around for a solution and have got nowhere, other than a very long convoluted method which requires me to back-up my mac contacts, go into various files and change things ... all very risky.  I appreciate that Mac have done the dirty by seeminly removing iSync and unabling Sync Services in the normal sense of the word, but I would've thought that Blackberry by now would have come up with a work around?
Can I export the data and import it into the phone somehow?  or Has anyone got a viable solution?  If not the blackberry is going in the bin and I will get a smart phone that does "talk" to my mac.
    Many thanks

I have the same problem, and a supervisor Apple Support guy just told me (23 jan 14), after 2 days of searching, that it is impossible to sync a BB with Mavericks...
I am furious too : it is just like if Apple would be telling plainly that an iPhone cannot phone to a BB...!

  • Can't sync blackberry curve 8330 to entourage 2008 on imac using pocketmac

    - Sent to trash and emptied blackberry USB file extensions from the library
    - Changed auto enable mass storage mode when connected to "yes"

  • Syncing Blackberry Curve 9370

I can't turn off wireless syncing on my Curve 9370 so that I can sync using the Blackberry Desktop software.  The directions given suggest going to the Calendar application and/or Contacts application on my phone and "press the Menu key then Options and then change the Wireless Synchronization field to No."  But, that is not one of the options in either of the applications.

    Hi marktiscareno,
In Calendar or Contacts on your BlackBerry® Curve™ 9370 smartphone, after pressing Menu key and Options, you should be able to see your calendars / address books in a list on the options screen.
Once you click on each calendar or address book in the list to open it and display the properties, you should be able to see a Wireless Sychronization checkbox for any calendar or address book that has had wireless synchronization enabled. This article should provide more information. http://bbry.lv/nmp2dM
    Hope this is helpful.

That feature is available for your BlackBerry model ! First you need a Specific BlackBerry Data plan also known as BIS from your Carrier Vodafone to use this feature , Once you activate it on our account you can refer to those KB article for help :

  • Blackberry Curve won't sync properly with Outlook 2007

    Hi
I've searched the forums and can't find the answer to my problem so I wonder if anyone could help.
I keep all my business contacts on Outlook 2007 (there are almost 3,000 of them so I can't wipe them).
Recently, I downloaded the Version 7 of the Blackberry Desktop software.  I then got an error message that I searched the forums for and discovered that many others had the same problem.  The 'fix' recommended, until Blackberry resolves the issue, was to uninstall version 7 and reinstall version 6.  I did this.
Now, however, I can't seem to get my Outlook calendar syncing with my Blackberry, and it keeps syncing the wrong address book.  For some reason (goes back to an old desktop upgrade and doing backups - it was a friend who did it and I haven't a clue about such things) I have three different 'sets' of contacts or 'address books' in my Outlook 2007.  None of them are syncing.
Basically, I want to have just one set of contacts (i.e., one single address book on my desktop Outlook 2007) and one single calendar, and have both syncing correctly with my Blackberry Curve.
Does anyone have some kind of real 'idiots' guide' to how to do this, please?  I've tried doing a search for the correct 'path' etc., but it frankly just confuses me.
    Many thanks.

When I've had challenges like this..  and searched and searched for solutions, I eventually contacted my provider who then put mt on to BB support direct...    that's when I got an expert on the phone and they sorted it out in no time flat once we went back over exactly what had happened...
That'd be my suggestion..  but then again, my phone was supplied by my povider..
I've got a 9800, so the menus etc are different I guess..
    Good luck

  • Help getting Outlook 2007 to sync with proper calendar on Blackberry Curve

Hi I'm new to this forum and have looked for specific answers but not luck as of yet. I'll try to explain what I need to happen fully so it may seem like I'm rambling.
I've recently been issued a new computer with Vista and Outlook 2007 for work. Previously I had Win XP and Outlook 2003. Always I had my blackberry set up to recieve all my emails from my personal email accounts as well as my work email.
My problem is that now when I place items on my Outlook 2007 calendar and sync to my blackberry, my Outlook items don't show up on blackberry and vice versa.
If I inititiate calander item from blackberry, making sure I am using work email address, it shows up as appt on blackberry calendar but doesn't show up on Outlook.
If I recieve email invite for appointment on Blackberry, it does show up as appointment. I believe when I set up Outlook 2007 it must be placing the items in a different default calendar, but even though I've selected on blackberry to show all calendars, it still doesn't show up.
Syncing is working properly between the phone and outlook as far as connection, just not showing up.
What I want to happen of course is, enter an item on phone and have it sync to outlook, or enter item on outlook and show up on blackberry..but that's not happening. I've tried all settings I can see and am at a loss.
How can I change what items are in my Outlook 2007 are set as default? It's so screwy I can't even explain what's going on...I'm very tempted to reinstall Outlook 2001 just because it doesn't recognize different calanders so at least all items would show up on blackberry. Help. Thanks.

Okay update. I've deleted all personal address CICAL files in blackberry except for the one I want to use. I cleaned the service records, did a hard reboot, the resynced my phone.
All worked well except for Calendar. My Outlook calendar is full on computer but nothing happened to phone calendar. This makes me think that Outlook 2007 is storing all the calendar entries as a different default, rather than my work email address, but I don't know how to change.
Also, I don't know how to covert entries from one default address to another in Outlook. Probably something in initial setup that I clicked or didn't change properly.
Another question, I sync via cable (not wireless). One of the options in the intellisync setup is Microsoft Outlook Internet Settings or Outlook. I'm using outlook of course but since the MS Outlook Internet Settings is default choice, I've just left it at that (although when I change it nothing seems to happen anyway). Should this be one way or another?
    Thanks.
